It was dinner time when Spencer and Trina emerged from their wing fully dressed and hungry. Nikolas and Stefan were already seated and waiting for them as they walked into the dining room hand in hand. Nikolas was the one to stand up in greeting.

"Spencer and Trina! Welcome to your first night home! I had the cook prepare Spencer's favorite meal. I don't know Trina's yet, but let me know and I'll put in the order with Cook," Nikolas happily smiled, motioning for the couple to join them at the small round table.

"I'm sure that whatever the cook makes will be fine," Trina smiled, not wanting to be any trouble.

"She likes southern food though. Like fried chicken, smothered pork chops, barbeque ribs, potato salad," Spencer began to list and was interrupted by Trina's giggle and her taking his hand in hers.

"Baby, it's ok. They don't have to go through the trouble."

"It's no trouble, my dear. You are family and the Cook prepares things we like. We'll be sure to have some of your favorites prepared as well," Stefan nodded. "We want you to be at home here as well as Spencer."

"So how do you like your accommodations?" Nikolas asked, just as the servants come out with the food.

"They're great. Trina and I have been enjoying them already," Spencer smirked, then looked over at Trina as she nearly choked on a sip of water. "Hey, are you ok?"

"Fine. I'm fine. Just got taken off guard there," Trina glared at him, causing Spencer to bite back his own laughter. She was so cute when she was annoyed with him.

"Spencer, your father and I have been discussing Cassadine Industries of late. You're a young man now, capable of great things. Do you not think it's time that you take a role in the company? After all, you will be running it someday," Stefan cleared his throat.

Spencer looked between his father and Uncle, looking like a deer caught in the headlights. For some reason, the thought of running Cassadine Industries had not even crossed his mind. Everything had been happening so fast this year. His marriage to Trina, custody fight of Ace, witnessing the death of his Uncle Victor, not to mention Esme's demise...it had left little room to even consider his place in the family business.

"I hadn't really thought about it," Spencer confessed.

"I think that it's time that you did. After all, your father won't be living forever. You will need to be in place to take over."

"Uncle, I'm sure that there's plenty of time for Spencer to prepare himself for that. Right now, he's a young man who should be enjoying his freedom from such worries," Nikolas waved away Stefan's concerns. He knew that Spencer probably had other matters to worry about. Right now, he was in control of the family business. There was no reason for Spencer to even think about taking over.

"It's best that the boy prepares, Nikolas. No matter how far off that day may be," Stefan admonished.

"Right now, I bet he rather worry about preparing a proper wedding ceremony for his bride. I'm sure that the Justice of the Peace did a fine job, but all women deserve a dream wedding," Nikolas mindlessly chuckled.

Trina and Spencer both looked at Nikolas stunned by the comment. Really, neither of them had even thought about redoing their wedding ceremony. Trina had been fine with the one they had. Sure, she would have loved the beautiful dress, gorgeous venue, lovely music, with friends and family there. She had dreamed of a gorgeous red velvet cake beautifully decorated with the figures of a bride and groom on top. She had dreamed of that first dance with her father and then her husband. She had dreamed of throwing the bouquet and being swept away to a romantic location...but that had been a dream. Something that her own girly mind had played with. It hadn't been a reality and it would be too much trouble to bring it to life. It wasn't all that important to her.

Really.

She just didn't want to get in the way or burden anyone with her silly dreams. She was satisfied with what she had.

Really.

Spencer on the other hand wasn't satisfied at all. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. His last name meant that he was made of money. If his Trina had a dream, he had the means to make it come true, and now that his father was back in his life and things seemed calm right now...why not give Trina her dream wedding? Surely, she must want something better than the ceremony by the Justice of the Peace! All girls did! Trina should not have to settle for less, not when she had him!

"I'm fine. Honest," Trina awkwardly smiled. "All I care about is being with Spencer."

"Trina," Spencer frowned, noticing something in Trina's demeanor, something that wasn't new to him. Something that he had thought he had gotten her over.

"What?"

"If you want a bigger ceremony...we can do it. Just say the word. It's not a problem."

"I didn't say it was. I just don't see the point of having everyone go through all the trouble is all," Trina shrugged, taking a sip of the wine that had just been poured for her. "I have everything I could ever want. You took me to Paris. We're living in a mansion...that is more than enough."

It wasn't nearly enough, not in Spencer's eyes. He wanted to make all of Trina's wishes and dreams come true, but how could he when she kept making her wants and needs small in an attempt not to trouble anyone. He was just going to have to push the subject.

"Well, I think Father had a great idea. We deserve a proper wedding ceremony. Our love should be celebrated by all of our friends. I'm sure Reasia would love to be a maid of honor."

"Splendid. You two sit down and write out how you want everything and I'll have the arrangements prepared. A wedding is a great thing for us Cassadines to celebrate!" Stefan smiled, pleased with Spencer's initiative.

"Spencer, this is unnecessary," Trina sighed.

"I want my father to see me say I do to the love of my life, ok?" Spencer stared at her, knowing she wouldn't say no if she thought this was for him and his father.

"Really?"

"Yes. I want him to see me all grown up and marrying the love of my life. Taggert can walk you down the aisle. Won't you like that?"

Trina sighed and shrugged. "I just don't want to be any trouble."

Spencer took her hand and looked deeply into her eyes. His voice was gentle and loving. "Baby, you're not. You're no trouble at all. They just want to celebrate our love. Let's let them, alright?"

Trina simply nodded and continued to eat, knowing that there was no talking Spencer out of these plans.

…..

When they got back to their bedroom, Spencer took Trina's hand and pulled her into his arms, giving her one of his full-body hugs that he knew made her feel safe and protected and above all loved.

"Baby, I know what you were doing earlier," He kissed the top of her head.

Trina sighed, unable to keep from feeling the safety and love that hugs like this always brought to her. "What do you mean?"

"When Father brought up the wedding ceremony and you were downplaying that you may want something big and wonderful. You were making yourself small again. You were trying to portray that it didn't matter what you wanted. That you were satisfied with less when you can have more and baby, I get it, I do, but there's no need for you to do that."

"Spencer…"

"No, listen to me. Your wants and dreams are as important as anyone else's. You're no trouble. You're not a burden. Your wants and dreams are important to me as much as my own. If I can make something happen for you, I want you to tell me. If I can't do it, that's ok...but if I can, that's awesome. What you want is important to me, Trina. It's more important to me than you'll ever know because it'll bring me more of those beautiful Trina smiles. Do you get what I'm saying?"

"Yes...I just...I don't know. I just feel so awkward. Like I'm taking advantage...that I don't deserve...any of it…"

"But you do, baby. You deserve everything!"

"Why do you love me so much, Spencer?"

"Because you're mine and I am yours. It's been that way from the moment we met. I love you, Trina Robinson. And I want to give you the wedding of your dreams. So let's discuss. What does a Trina Robinson wedding look like?"

"Spencer…"

"I'm not dropping the subject. You might as well tell me," He released her long enough to walk over to the bed, then he pulled her down onto his lap and pulled her against his chest, wrapping his arms around her again.

"I don't know, Spencer….what if it's too much? Too gaudy?"

"Too gaudy? You? Never!" Spencer chuckled. "Come on. Just tell me."

Trina sighed and felt her body relax in his arms. "Alright...first off...I want a gazebo. A gazebo in a beautiful garden somewhere surrounded by flowers and lots of light."

"Sounds lovely."

"My dress and bridesmaids gowns I want in the style of the Princess Bride...because I adored that movie when I was a child."

"It kind of suits you. I mean, you are now a princess."

"Of what?" Trina chuckled.

"I don't know. People say that I'm a Prince, but I'm not sure of what kingdom. But anyway, what else do you want?"

My dad, Taggert... raised me. He should be the one to walk me down the aisle...but the father-daughter dance...there should be two of them. One for Taggert and one for Curtis. I want the cake to be red velvet with cream cheese frosting. Music...anything but rap. Oh, and the reception should be in a ballroom...you know, this place was gorgeous for the masquerade ball...if there's a gazebo in the garden, we can have it here. That'd take care of the venue...the food should be a mix between soul food and food that your family likes...like something from Paris and...well, I'll leave all of that up to you."

"Sounds good...is there anything special you want to do for the ceremony?"

"We should say our own vowels, that's for sure...and...well...I don't know if you'd want to do it...but I want to honor my ancestors who came over here as slaves...it's kind of an African-American tradition to jump over a broom after the vows are said...it's just something unique to add, you know?"

Spencer nodded, understanding perfectly. "Anywhere specific that you want to go on a honeymoon?"

"Spencer...we already had a honeymoon!"

"What's wrong with another one? How about somewhere tropical? Or a cruise?"

"Hmm….let me think about it, alright? Nothing can top Paris, really."

"Is that so?"

"Mmm-Hmmm. You kind of spoiled me already."

"Well, you think about it and let me know, alright? But your dream wedding sounds awesome. I think we can pull it together."

"You don't have to…"

"I want to. I want to declare my love from the highest rooftops to all of our family and friends and that's what I'm determined to do."

Trina felt the tears in her eyes and she leaned into another kiss. Not for the first time, she felt completely loved and taken care of. It was a feeling that she'll never get sick of.
