Meanwhile across London four people are eating dinner trying to think of something to get the two people who are busy with each other to admit they love each other. "What did you say about Graham," Nyssa asks Ryan.

"He hadn't realized he had fallen in love with Ace."

Sighing, Yaz says, "if he is just now admitting to himself, we may have a while yet; before he admits it to Ace. Tegan, Nyssa, when did Ace start saying she was in love with him?"

"While he was in the hospital; there were a few times she said she had fallen for him."

"That was months ago," Yaz sits up straighter.

"Tegan, Nyssa, I imagine you know how those two were when Graham was still healing."

"She heard the two of you talking after your movie one night."

"He told me he liked her, but wanted to wait because he was afraid of my reactions and until time had passed when she knew for a fact he was in a relationship with her, for her, and not what she was doing for him."

"Exactly, she was freaking out when she called me. That is why Nyssa and I came over the next day."

"You ended an awkward silence. When we got back the two of them had a conversation about something I don't know. It wasn't my place to ask."

"Ryan, remember when he came to us for advice on how to ask Ace out?"

"He first tried to ask her before we left for the meeting on the phone then chickened out."

"Was he really that nervous."

"He was, he made sure I came over to help pick out his outfit and you know ask me what would be a good restaurant to take her to."

"The next day he picked up Ace and they spent the whole day together."

"Tegan, don't forget how miffed you were that they hadn't kissed yet."

"They have kissed now. This morning when I went into the kitchen they were sharing a small kiss and the smile on both of their faces was genuine happiness."

"They have more than kissed now."

"I do not need that mental image, no thank you." Tegan teases the younger man.

"I agree with Ryan. Ace may be a mate, but Graham is more like family, that I never want to imagine doing that." Tegan and Nyssa laugh.

"Ace is someone who is careful about picking her partners, I guess it's something with two people she fell for, turning out who she didn't think they were."

"Do you know anything else about those two men?"

"Only that they were more than five years older than Ace."

Laughing, Yaz replies, "I guess she has a type."

"You're the one to say something, how old was the Doctor?"

"Over 2000, but I didn't mean to fall for her. She was the first person I fell for. I was 19."

"With those two guys, Ace was younger than 19. She was 16 and 18."

"How old were they?"

"She never told me, just told me that they were older than her. I am sure they were both serving in the forces. Now let's get back to the purpose of this meeting."

"What if we set up a candlelit dinner for them with a string quartet playing,'' suggests Nyssa.

"I have a better idea, we figure out how to get Kate."

Tegan interrupts Yaz, "no Kate, she has already told me off for trying to plan for them to have a first real kiss."

"You never told me that Tegan."

"I know Nyssa, it became a quick moot point when the next week you saw them kissing in her office at A Charitable Earth, your idea about a romantic dinner."

"We should figure out a place for them to eat in private and a way to get to them."

"We can use A Charitable Earth HQ." Nyssa knows how it empties out each night as Ace has a strict policy about everyone being home by 8 pm and no working on weekends unless it's for a fundraiser.

"Not bad, now how." Yaz thinks this might be the best place.

"I have an idea, Nyssa I know you are not going to like this part. We play on their emotions for what they care about most," Yaz starts to voice her idea.

"What do you mean?"

"For Ace, you know the Dorothy part better, and for Graham, we tell him something happened and we need him, because something happened to her."

"That is good to get him there." The four of them sit back and try and think how they should get Ace to come to her foundation on a Saturday night. Nyssa thinks of something, but she made a promise 10 years ago not to tell a soul. Tegan looks at her wife, "what are you not saying?"

"I made a promise to Ace, years ago. I will not say or use it against her. I am not going to do the same thing that the Doctor did to her."

"Is it bad?"

"No, it's something really good, it just doesn't have the best ending."

"Just tell us Nyssa, if it can get those two to tell the other how they feel."

"NO, this is one thing I will put my foot down about. I will not hurt or betray her!"

"Ok." That night after everyone is gone, Nyssa retreats to her office before bed and recalls that cold night 5 years ago when she walked into Ace's office to see her crying.

'What's wrong Ace?'

'It's just the 10th year anniversary.'

'The 10th year anniversary of what?'

'When my daughter got sent to an alternate time.'

'You're what, you said you never wanted children.'

'I adopted her with the help of UNIT, when I found her on a deserted planet in a time no one went to. I found her when I was time hoping on my motorbike. I spent months there trying to find her parents. She was the reason I stopped time hopping. I came back to earth, the time I would be the correct age, contacted Kate's father, who still had contacts. She was a beautiful young girl, who grew up fast. She was a few months old when I first found her, and in a 2 year span she grew 5 years.'

'Oh Ace,' Nyssa sits next to her friend and wraps her in her arms as Ace is overtaken with sobs holding the picture of a young woman that changed her appearance to look like Ace.

After calming down, 'promise me you will not tell anyone of this, not even Tegan.'

'I promise. Have you tried talking to someone about this?'

'No, who could I talk to?'

'I don't know.'

'You are the first person I told about my Manisha, named after my childhood best friend who eventually succumbed to her injuries from the firebombing of her house.'

'Have you talked to many people about your friend Manisha?'

'The Doctor was the first person, and after I started A Charitable Earth I sought out a therapist.'

'Good.'

Back in the present day Tegan comesinto the room and doesn't like how her wife is sitting staring off into space. "Honey?"

"Yeah," she replies sadly.

"What is wrong?"

"I am just remembering what Ace told me those years ago, and no I won't tell you, well I can't, I promised Ace."

"Did she hurt herself?"

"Not in a physical sense.''

"Has she sought help?"

"This is something she can't seek the normal help with."

"So something alien."

Nyssa's eyes go wide, "I can't say anything more."

"You sure?"

"I am, except I hope Ace tells Graham. I will shoot her a message. I love you." As Nyssa falls asleep she also vows to call Neeka and Adric.
