May I have this dance, miss?
The soft and pleasant breeze gently caressed Aqua's face as she immersed herself in the pages of a book. Sitting by the window in her room, she found solace in reading, a passion she had recently discovered. Books had become her refuge, a gateway to other worlds and realities, where the worries of everyday life faded away, leaving room only for imagination and wonder.
Each story Aqua explored within those books held a powerful allure for her. Whether they were moving dramas, passionate romances, or fantastical tales filled with magic, they all served as an escape that transported her to a parallel universe, far from her pessimistic thoughts and burdens she carried on her shoulders. Every page was an invitation to dive into a new adventure, to experience intense emotions, and to be carried away by the words printed in ink.
"I wish I could have adventures again," Aqua whispered to herself in a sigh filled with longing. As she delved deeper into the books she read, she found fascinating and thrilling stories where characters embarked on epic journeys and lived unforgettable experiences. But despite her burning desire to immerse herself in new adventures, something held her back: fear.
Aqua faced an internal dilemma. On one hand, she longed for the excitement and challenge of exploring new horizons, diving into the unknown, and facing dangers and obstacles. However, her heart was caught in the grip of fear, the fear that things would go wrong once again. The memory of the Realm of Darkness, where she had spent years alone and helpless, haunted her constantly.
It was a painful paradox for Aqua, a Keyblade Master who had faced great challenges and overcome countless dangers in the past. According to her own expectations, she shouldn't feel fear; she should be fearless and brave at all times. But the reality was that fear was an undeniable and powerful human emotion, a force that could overpower even the bravest.
Aqua hated herself for feeling this way. She was frustrated by that sense of weakness in the face of fear, which seemed to contradict everything she believed in. As a champion of light, she was supposed to be strong, unwavering, and capable of facing any adversity without trembling. However, the shadow of fear continued to haunt her, threatening to steal the freedom she cherished.
Fear was a constant reminder of the fragility of existence and how quickly circumstances could change. Aqua had experienced the destructive power of darkness and didn't want to fall into its clutches again. But as her desires for adventure grew, so did her frustration at feeling limited by fear.
"I better go out and get some fresh air," Aqua decided as she put away her book. She left her room and headed to the same place as yesterday, where she could contemplate a vast, peaceful landscape. It was a refuge that provided her with peace and serenity amidst her tumultuous thoughts.
As she immersed herself in the beauty of the scenery, Aqua heard her name being called. She turned her gaze towards the voice, and instead of finding Terra, she found Ventus, the cheerful and childlike boy who always managed to bring a smile to her face, no matter how dark her mood was.
"Hello, Ven," Aqua greeted as she looked at the blond boy, who sat beside her with a warm and genuine smile.
The landscape was truly beautiful, and Ventus couldn't help but notice the special connection Aqua seemed to have with this place. Curious, he decided to ask her, "It's beautiful, is that why you always come here?"
"Yes, Ven," Aqua said with a mixture of melancholy and gratitude in her voice. "This place gives me a respite, a moment of calm."
"Did you have breakfast today?" the boy asked, concerned for her. Aqua turned her gaze towards him with a serene smile.
"Yes, don't worry, Ven," Aqua responded in a calm tone. However, Ventus was not naive, and he knew Aqua was lying to him. Although it hurt that she was hiding the truth from him, he decided not to insist. He didn't want to bother her with uncomfortable questions, especially because he knew Aqua was not the same as before. Still, he held onto the hope that she would return to who she used to be.
Ventus understood that the wounds of the past had left deep scars on Aqua's spirit. There were moments when he saw her struggling internally, dealing with her own demons. Though he sometimes felt helpless, he remembered his promise to support her unconditionally, no matter what.
The past had changed Aqua in many ways. Her smile, although still present, had lost some of its sparkle. Gone were the days when they shared uncontrollable laughter and challenged each other in every adventure. The darkness that had consumed her had left a mark on her essence, and Ventus longed for Aqua to become the person he once knew.
However, Ventus understood that time and healing were individual and unique processes for each person. He knew he couldn't force Aqua to change or confront her demons before she was ready. Instead, he committed to being by her side, offering his support and constantly reminding her that she wasn't alone.
"I came to tell you something," Ventus announced. Aqua became immediately interested since Ventus usually approached her to play for a while and then leave.
"What?" Aqua asked, watching as a smile formed on Ventus' face. "What are you going to tell me?"
"We received a letter from the king," Ventus revealed. Aqua was surprised, and the first thing that came to her mind was that another threat was approaching. That thought filled her with deep fear. Had something bad happened again? Had Xehanort returned? Were the worlds in danger once more? A torrent of questions and concerns flooded her mind as she couldn't find any other reason why the king would send them a letter.
"We haven't opened it yet," Ventus continued. "Terra and I thought it would be best to read it together."
"Alright... let's go," Aqua replied as she stood up from the ground. As they walked towards where Terra was waiting for them, thousands of possibilities and worries flooded her mind. The last thing she wanted was to face a new problem, especially after all the difficulties they had gone through in the past. The fear of losing her freedom again and falling into darkness haunted her.
Aqua remembered all the battles they had fought together, the wounds they had left behind, and the emotional scars that had yet to fully heal. She felt overwhelmed by the responsibility of protecting her loved ones and the worlds she cherished. She didn't want the peace they had managed to rebuild to be threatened once again.
"Aqua, calm down," Ventus said as he looked at her with a smile that reflected reassurance and tranquility. "Nothing bad will happen, okay?" Aqua looked at him but continued walking in silence. As much as he tried to reassure her, she knew that her fear was stronger than any words that came out of his mouth. She appreciated Ventus' gesture, but her dark thoughts were inevitable.
Suddenly, Ventus changed the subject and proposed an exciting race. He ran off at full speed, inviting Aqua to catch up. "Catch me if you can, Aqua!" he shouted from a distance. Aqua sighed and decided to join the race, temporarily setting aside her worries.
As they ran, the wind whipped against their faces, and their hearts beat to the accelerated rhythm of adrenaline. Aqua let herself be carried away by the sensation of freedom and the momentary distraction from her fears. Each step she took, each deep breath, seemed to momentarily distance her from the worries that haunted her.
"Terra!" Ventus exclaimed excitedly as they finally reached him. Terra held an envelope with a letter in his hands. Ventus, still panting from the race, tried to catch his breath. "I made it..."
"And Aqua?" Terra inquired, perplexed by the woman's absence.
At that moment, their eyes landed on the figure of the young woman with blue hair, who also arrived exhausted after chasing Ventus. In fact, the endurance of the three had diminished, though not significantly. Just with a race, they were already experiencing considerable fatigue.
"Well, let's proceed to read what the king has to communicate," Terra said as he began to unfold the envelope that contained a letter.
Dear Aqua, Ventus, and Terra,
It is with great honor and enthusiasm that I announce an exceptional invitation. You are cordially invited to an exquisite celebration to be held at the majestic premises of my castle. I am confident that the three of you are in a state of recovery after the fierce battle against Xehanort. Therefore, I have decided to organize a party where you can mingle with other distinguished guests.
This special occasion will take place tomorrow at 6:00 pm. I sincerely hope to have your pleasant presence at this memorable event. I cannot hide the anticipation I feel when imagining you walking through the halls of my castle, adorned in your most elegant attire. Your presence will be a true delight.
With overflowing enthusiasm, I conclude this communication. I fervently hope that you do not miss such a significant appointment.
Sincerely, [Mickey Mouse]
After finishing reading the letter, Ventus flashed a radiant smile and snatched the parchment from Terra's hands. Immediately, his spirit filled with excitement, foreshadowing an evening full of promises and hopes.
"Can we go, please?" he said, looking at the two older figures in front of him. Terra sought Aqua's gaze, seeking her approval. She nodded silently, although she wasn't entirely convinced about attending. However, if it brought happiness to her two friends, she was willing to accompany them. After all, who was she to deprive Ventus of the joy he felt in those moments?
"Alright, we'll go," Terra declared, showing a smile. Upon hearing these words, Ventus jumped for joy. He longed to reunite with his friends once again and enjoy their company. His excitement was so intense that he dashed at full speed towards his home to prepare everything for the following day, leaving Terra and Aqua alone for a long time.
"You don't have to go if you don't want to," Terra mentioned, observing Aqua attentively.
"No, I do want to go," Aqua quickly responded, looking at Terra. "I feel strong enough to do it." Terra offered her a warm smile and took her right hand.
"Remember that Ven and I will always be here for you. I will always be here for you," he said, conveying a sincere smile. Aqua quickly withdrew her hand from Terra's, but not in a harsh or resentful way. Although she might have jumped with joy before at those affectionate gestures from Terra, in that moment, she didn't experience the same emotion. It was different, and who knows, she might not be able to fall in love again.
"Thank you, Terra. I know you will always be here for me. I will also be here for you in the same way," she said before heading to her room, leaving Terra alone, lost in his thoughts.

"Awesome, a party!" exclaimed Sora, filled with energy and a wide smile, proclaiming it loudly alongside his two friends, Riku and Kairi.
"Yeah, let's go?" mentioned Riku, looking at his two friends, although he already knew what their answer would be.
"Of course!" they both shouted, brimming with excitement, which drew a smile on Riku's face.
"Hehe, alright, it will be at 6:00 pm at Mickey's castle, and we should dress elegantly," informed Riku. This news filled Kairi with excitement, while Sora made a momentary grimace of displeasure.
"I can wear my favorite dress!" exclaimed Kairi, excited and happy, envisioning herself alongside her friends, wearing beautiful shimmering dresses at the party.
"Does it have to be fancy?" complained the brunette, as he didn't like dressing up in refined attire at all. As far as he could remember, he had never worn a suit or anything similar in his life. It deeply displeased him.
"That's right. If you want to attend, you'll have to get a tuxedo," affirmed Riku, and Sora just grumbled and huffed in response. However, if that was what it took to be reunited with his friends, he would do it.
"Alright, I'll go look for one," he said, determined to find a suit. He couldn't wait to meet up with his friends and enjoy to the fullest with them. Just imagining it filled him with happiness, an emotion he couldn't contain.

POV AQUA
I couldn't fall asleep. No matter how hard I tried, it was impossible. It wasn't the first time this happened to me. The simple act of closing my eyes filled me with deep fear, the fear of returning to the darkness. When I close my eyes, all those memories rush into my mind: the emptiness, the loneliness, the despair, the sadness. I feel as if by closing my eyes and then opening them, I'll return to the realm of darkness, and this supposed freedom is nothing more than an illusion created by my own mind.
I no longer know if what I'm experiencing is real or a lie. I don't want to go back, I don't wish to. I feel a profound hatred, I hate all of this. I hate feeling weak, I hate feeling terrified. I hate pretending to be a fragile girl in need of rescue. I long to free myself from these oppressive feelings that imprison me, but the fear persists, tormenting me in the shadows of my being.
In my mind, I repeat to myself over and over again, "This is real, it's not a lie," but I find it impossible to believe. The mere idea of darkness terrifies me; just thinking about it makes me tremble.
In the midst of darkness, I find myself alone, filled with fear, empty and hopeless. Once again, I am engulfed in this abyss. How did I go from being in my room to finding myself here? Is this reality or just a dream? Or perhaps, was what I experienced before a dream and this is the truth? I'm so confused... Yet, the only thing I know is that I don't want to...
I don't want to be here!
Did I never truly leave the realm of darkness? Because... this feels so real. Yes, here I am again, descending deeper and deeper into the depths of darkness, with no hope of escape.
Despite my efforts to ascend, I cannot do it. I only descend and descend, until I reach the bottom of this dark world. I am alone, with no one else, immersed in the dense and sinister darkness, feeling myself suffocating in it. Every step I take is an endless struggle, and the feeling of being trapped becomes overwhelming.
What is that? A hand? I see a hand slowly descending, coming closer to me and gently taking my right hand.
Why?
Whose hand is this?
Why is it holding mine?
I feel a comforting warmth, a sense of security and protection. I feel enveloped in an invisible embrace, shielded from the darkness that surrounds me. Please, don't let go... don't stop holding my hand. Don't allow me to fall again. I beg you to hold onto it, to not let me return to that place. I desperately long to break free, to see the light, to live a life full of hope and joy. I need your support to overcome this darkness and find my way to freedom.

"Terra?" In front of me stood Terra, with a deeply concerned expression on his face. I didn't understand what had happened. Had something occurred?
"Thank God you're okay. I heard you screaming and came to see what was happening. By the time I arrived, you were already calmer, but you were crying," he mentioned with evident concern in his voice. Instinctively, I brought a hand to my face and noticed the small tears welling up in my eyes. He asked if I was okay, and I simply nodded in response. "If you want to share anything, let me know," he added, offering me his support and willingness to listen.
"No, it's nothing, Terra. I'm fine, don't worry," I replied as I laid down on my bed and turned my back to him. I noticed how he stood behind me, probably with a worried expression on his face. I heard his footsteps receding from my bed and then the sound of the door closing behind him. I let out a sigh. My dreams are becoming stranger with each passing night... this has become a routine. I have nightmares, and Terra always comes to see if I'm okay. I don't know how my screams can be loud enough to wake him up, but clearly they are. Well, it's better that I go back to sleep... I don't want to worry Terra any further. It's nice that he's so caring towards me, but he also deserves proper rest.
The next day, I woke up, showered, and dressed in clean clothes. I grabbed my breakfast and decided to head to my favorite spot as usual. This time, I had a book in my hand, one that I was about to finish and wished to conclude that very day. Upon arrival, I stopped to admire the scenery in front of me. I opened my book, a story of adventure and romance.
The book told the story of a young man named Zack, a fearless adventurer and soldier always ready to face any challenge that came his way. And by his side was Aerith, a brave and relentless girl, yet kind and delicate. Due to her dark and solitary past, Aerith believed it was impossible to have a joyful and peaceful life. The only thing she possessed were small yellow flowers that bloomed in an abandoned church, where she used to spend most of her time.
However, she still held onto the hope that someone could help her and fulfill one of her dreams, freeing her from her torment once and for all. And that someone was the brave soldier and adventurer, Zack. With his determination and skills, he would become her savior, rescuing her from her suffering and leading her towards a better future.
As I read each page of this thrilling story, I immersed myself in the characters' yearnings and desires. I identified with Aerith, understanding her internal struggles and her desires to find happiness. Upon closing the book, I felt a deep resonance in my heart. The narrative reminded me that even in the midst of the darkest shadows, there is always a spark of hope and the possibility of finding redemption and true love.
"I wish someone would save me from my torment," I whispered, unaware of the words that escaped my lips. I continued reading, engrossed in the captivating tale I held in my hands. From the very beginning, the story had captured me in a profound way. Each page awakened emotions and feelings within me that transported me to a completely different world.
The bond between Zack and Aerith deepened with each chapter, and as the plot unfolded, I could feel hope and redemption coming to life in their lives. Zack became Aerith's savior, leading her from darkness to light, showing her the beauty and wonder of the world, and assuring her that she would never be alone again. His promise to be by her side until the end filled my heart with a warm sense of hope and love.
The story was infused with romance and adventure, and more than once, it managed to draw a smile on my face and make my heart beat faster during the most romantic moments. Every word written on those pages immersed me in a parallel world, where I could escape from my own troubles and worries.
"It was perfect," I whispered as I gently closed the book. The words printed on those pages had left a profound mark on my heart, but now my mind was occupied with a question that had arisen within me.
Looking up at the sky, I let my thoughts wander in search of an answer. Is it possible to forget the past with the right person? The past, with all its scars and painful memories, had been a heavy burden that I carried with me. But in that moment, I felt a spark of hope, a possibility of freeing myself from the ties that bound me to the past.
I reflected for a moment, allowing emotions and memories to flow through my mind. Then, I realized it was getting late, and the time for the party was approaching. With speed and determination, I headed to my room, feeling the need to prepare for this special gathering.
I took a second shower, letting the warm water wash over my body. Each droplet cascading down.
After drying off and getting dressed, I opened my wardrobe in search of the perfect dress for the occasion. My eyes landed on a beautiful blue gown that I had carefully stored for a long time. I slipped into the dress, feeling its soft and delicate fabric embrace my body. Looking at myself in the mirror, I noticed how the blue color enhanced my eyes.
It was a floor-length dress that enveloped me in its elegant and mysterious darkness. Its dark blue color, like the deepest night. However, it wasn't a plain and flat dress, as it was adorned with subtle black and white accents that added contrast and depth to its design. The sweetheart neckline highlighted my femininity, and in my right hand, I held a black glove. Hanging from my neck, I wore a small necklace.
"Aqua, we need to go," Terra entered my room dressed in a sleek black tuxedo with a matching tie. It was a common attire, but I must admit that it surprisingly suited him well.
"Wow, you look absolutely stunning," Terra said as his eyes gleamed while scanning my figure from top to bottom. I could only smile slightly at the compliment
"Thank you, you look great too," I complimented him, acknowledging how fantastic he looked for the night.
"Thank you, I don't usually wear this kind of clothing," he admitted shyly, showing a hint of embarrassment on his face.
"Well, come on, they're waiting for us to leave." Without wasting any more time, I walked out with Terra, heading towards the outside of our home and then making our way to the party at the castle. Perhaps this was the distraction I needed to push away those tormenting thoughts, a beautiful and enjoyable evening with my friends.

"I hate this," Sora complained as he dressed in what was the closest thing to a tuxedo he could find on short notice. According to Riku and Kairi's words, it fit him quite well. It gave him a different and more serious look. His suit was black, like any other, with a matching tie and a white shirt underneath.
Riku, who was wearing a traditional and regular tuxedo, helped Sora adjust his tie.
"Why do we have to dress like this?" Sora grumbled.
"It's the king's orders," Riku responded with a smile, finishing adjusting Sora's tie. "Alright, make sure not to untie it, okay?"
"Okay." Sora approached a mirror in his room to see how his suit looked on him. "It's not so bad after all," he said as he spun around to examine every part of his outfit.
"See, you complain about nothing," sighed Riku, stepping closer to Sora. "Time to go, Kairi must be getting impatient."
"Yeah, let's go." Both boys left their house to meet up with Kairi and head to the party at the castle. Sora was more than excited to arrive. He wanted to see everyone again and couldn't wait another second.

Castle Disney
Everything was beautifully stunning, both inside and out. Bright lights adorned the castle grounds, creating a spectacle of colors and shimmering that captured the attention of the attendees. The bushes were meticulously trimmed and shaped in an exquisite manner, adding a sense of elegance and perfection to the scene. It was a dazzling setting that invited one to get lost in its beauty.
As I walked through the gardens, I marveled at the sight of guests arriving from different worlds. It was a unique experience to witness people of different races and cultures gathered in one place. Their colorful and distinctive attire stood out among the crowd, creating a visual symphony of diversity and uniqueness. It was a tangible display of interconnection and the possibility of unity among seemingly distant worlds.
"Wow, it's beautiful," Ventus spoke in awe of the magnificent castle adorned with countless lights that illuminated the trees and shrubs around it. "It's amazing, Mickey always knows how to decorate."
"Yes, it's marvelous," Terra said, admiring the castle. He looked to Aqua for a response, but she simply nodded silently. Together, they ventured into the castle where their friends were already waiting for them. Axel, Roxas, Xion, Namine, Donald, and Goofy looked elegant, just like them.
Greetings followed one another, filled with warmth and excitement. It was truly comforting to reunite after a year of rest and separation. It didn't take long before Roxas, Ventus, and Axel started playing around the castle, like young children enjoying freedom and unrestrained fun.
As Aqua watched their laughter and mischief, she couldn't help but feel a pang of longing in her heart. While the others immersed themselves in the joy of the moment, she found herself in a state of quiet reflection.
The others continued their lively conversations. Namine and Xion shared their experiences, laughing and creating a special bond between them. Donald and Goofy, with their cheerful and carefree nature, exchanged laughs and jokes with Terra. Meanwhile, Aqua preferred to remain silent, observing from an empty table as the others talked and enjoyed themselves.
Aqua immersed herself in her thoughts as the bustling atmosphere of the party filled the air. She appreciated the warmth emanating from her friends, the genuine happiness reflected on their faces, and the comforting sound of their laughter. She felt a sense of serenity and gratitude seeing those she considered her second family gathered in harmony.
"GUYS!" The sudden shout jolted Aqua out of her thoughts, causing her to turn her gaze toward the person who uttered it. There, she saw that spiky-haired boy, with a huge smile on his face, approaching everyone with enthusiasm and greeting them exuberantly. Next to him were Riku and Kairi, both looking elegant and radiant in their attire.
Kairi, in particular, stood out in her long pink dress, which suited her wonderfully. Aqua couldn't help but admire her beauty and grace as she moved among the other guests, greeting them with kindness and warmth. It was evident that the three of them had dedicated time and effort to prepare for the occasion, showing their commitment and appreciation for the celebration.
But Aqua's attention quickly returned to the games and laughter that filled the air. Sora had joined Ventus, Roxas, and Axel, and now the four boys could be seen running and chasing each other with great energy. It was like witnessing the innocence and pure freedom of childhood, where the concerns of the adult world took a backseat.
Aqua couldn't help but smile as she watched the lively play of the boys. In Sora, she saw someone who could be childlike and carefree at times, but she had also witnessed his transformation when seriousness and responsibility were necessary, as in the battle against Xehanort. That boy with a pure heart and playful spirit became a brave and determined warrior.
It was a reminder that life was full of nuances and balances. The ability to enjoy play and fun, while still embracing seriousness and commitment when needed, was a treasure that Aqua deeply valued. In those moments, the image of Sora chasing his friends was like a reflection of human duality, the capacity to embrace both lightness and strength.
"You've become quite quiet, haven't you?" Aqua turned her gaze to the person who spoke to her: Riku, who sat in one of the chairs next to her at the table. Their eyes met, and Aqua could perceive a mixture of curiosity and concern in her friend's gaze.
"They're going to end up breaking something," Riku commented, pointing at the boys who continued running through the castle without any intention of stopping.
"I hope not," Aqua replied with a slight smile on her lips as she watched the boys run joyfully.
"They can be quite childish sometimes, don't you think?" Riku asked, seeking Aqua's complicity.
"It's something that characterizes them, especially Sora," Aqua responded calmly. "But thanks to him, we're all safe."
Aqua's response revealed a deep understanding of Sora's personality and role in her life. She recognized that despite his playful and carefree nature, Sora had been the force that had united and protected them in their battle against darkness. His tireless spirit and bravery had been essential to their survival and success in their adventures.
"Yes, we owe a lot to Sora," Riku replied, shifting his gaze towards his best friend. After a few minutes, King Mickey appeared in front of everyone to deliver a few words about their collective effort in the battle against Xehanort. He thanked them all for their dedication and emphasized that they could now live without troubles or worries. He wished them to enjoy the night to the fullest.
After the speech, the party at the castle continued as usual. Aqua remained sitting alone at the table, as Riku had gone to talk with Terra for a while.
"Are you having fun?" the blond-haired boy approached her and asked.
"Oh, yes, come on. I'm having fun," Aqua responded, looking at Ventus with a smile.
"Doesn't seem like it," the boy remarked, causing Aqua to frown. "Aqua... If you're not comfortable or if something's bothering you..."
"I'm fine, Ventus," Aqua interrupted, trying to reassure her friend. "Don't worry."
However, deep in her heart, Aqua knew that Ventus could perceive her true mood. He was someone close to her, someone who could read between the lines and notice even the subtlest signs of unease or sadness. Even if she tried to hide it, Aqua couldn't deny that something was troubling her at that moment.
"It's okay, but remember that you can trust me. There would be no more secrets between us, remember?" Ventus said before leaving Aqua alone. She sighed and told herself that she wasn't hiding anything, that she was perfectly fine. But deep down, she knew that there was something more bothering her, something she hadn't even shared with her closest friend.
Finally, Aqua stood up from the table and decided to step outside the castle to get some fresh air. Although she didn't like going out at night due to her fear of darkness, the sky that night was adorned with stars that illuminated it, so there was no problem for her to be there. Besides, she needed to refresh herself a bit after spending so much time inside the castle.
As Aqua walked through the gardens, her thoughts enveloped her like a fog. She felt the weight of her loneliness and the doubts that had been tormenting her lately. She had fought bravely alongside her friends, faced the most powerful enemies, and protected the worlds from darkness, but in the process, she had lost herself a little.
Aqua knew that Ventus was there for her, ready to listen and support her at all times. However, there was something within her that made her hesitate to share her deepest worries and fears. She feared that by opening up completely, she could put those she loved in danger.
"I'm fine... right?" she asked herself while gazing at the stars. "There's nothing wrong with me," she spoke to herself again, trying to convince herself. "It's just, just, it's just things that aren't easily forgotten," referring to the realm of darkness and everything that had happened up to that point.
But as those words escaped her lips, Aqua could feel the knot in her chest, the anguish clinging to her. She couldn't deny the impact that all those experiences had had on her being.
After walking around for a while, Aqua reached the back area of the imposing castle. There, she encountered vast stretches of land that she surmised were designated for training, as their size transcended the simple function of a resting courtyard. She scanned the vast area with her eyes and spotted a boy standing in the middle of that terrain, seemingly lost in his thoughts as he gazed at the dark night sky.
With great care, Aqua approached the boy, moving slowly so as not to disturb his peaceful solitude. Curiosity overwhelmed her, and she longed to understand why he was there, completely alone and without any company at that moment. What thoughts or emotions had led him to that secluded place?
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" the boy spoke without taking his eyes off the sky. Aqua was slightly surprised to be noticed, but she immediately relaxed upon hearing his words.
"Shouldn't you be inside with everyone else?" Aqua asked, observing as the boy turned his head to get a glimpse of her.
"I could ask you the same, Aqua," the boy responded with a small smile on his face, before turning his gaze back to the starry firmament.
"It's not often I see you so solitary, Sora," Aqua said, moving closer to the boy. "Usually, you're all over the place with your friends.
"Yes, I just wanted some fresh air," the brunette sighed. "And you?"
"Same here, just wanted to take a breath of fresh air," Aqua responded softly.
Sora shifted his gaze from the sky and finally looked directly into her eyes. "I understand," he said. "Since we're here, would you like me to keep you company for a while?"
Aqua fell silent, contemplating Sora's proposal. It had been a long time since she had spoken alone with him, and the idea seemed tempting. She nodded silently, receiving a cheerful smile from Sora.
"Do you want to sit over there?" he pointed to a nearby bench. Aqua gladly agreed, as it had been a while since she had shared a moment alone with Sora, and something within her yearned for connection and conversation. They both made their way to the bench and took a seat next to each other. While they didn't have a close relationship or a specific topic to discuss, Sora decided to break the silence.
"How have things been going for you?" it was the only thing that came to Sora's mind to start a conversation and avoid an awkward silence. Normally, he always had some topic to talk about with his friends, but this time it was quite the opposite.
"Relatively well," Aqua responded, but Sora looked at her with a doubtful expression, something that Aqua immediately noticed. "Is something wrong?" she asked curiously.
"Well, it's just that, during the entire party, you've barely left the table where you were sitting," Sora said. The blue-haired girl was taken aback by his words, as had he been observing her all this time to realize that she hadn't gotten up from her seat for even a second?
Aqua pondered for a moment, reflecting on Sora's observation. She understood that, although she was physically present at the party, she had emotionally kept herself distant.
"Well, I'm not usually much of a talker, so I prefer being alone," the young Keyblade Master said simply. Honestly, she had become less communicative with others, even with her closest friends.
"But that's not okay," Sora said as he gazed at the starry sky. "People shouldn't be alone, or at least not all the time."
Aqua contemplated Sora's words. She knew he was right. People shouldn't isolate themselves completely; it's always important to have company and the support of those who care for us. However, at that moment, she didn't feel the energy to seek that connection. Ever since she had emerged from the Realm of Darkness, something within her had changed, and she felt the need to take some time for herself.
"By the way, that dress looks really good on you," Sora complimented with a smile. Sora genuinely believed that the dress Aqua was wearing enhanced her beauty and made her look even more stunning than she already was, at least in his perception.
"I appreciate the compliment," Aqua responded with a genuine smile in response to Sora's praise. To her, the dress was just a garment, but she appreciated the kind words. It was nice to receive compliments, especially when one feels distant from others. "By the way, that outfit looks really good on you, to be honest," she added, returning the compliment to Sora. The attire Sora was wearing gave him a more serious and mature air, something that Aqua found attractive in him.
"Do you think so? I'm not one for fancy clothes," he chuckled, mirroring Aqua's laughter.
They remained silent for a few seconds, trying to find something else to say but without success. However, the silence was interrupted by a beautiful and harmonious melody that began playing from inside the castle, resonating both within and outside its walls
"It seems that the essential part of a party has already begun," Aqua commented as they observed the castle and listened to the gentle melody.
"What?" Sora asked, puzzled by Aqua's response.
"Dancing," she mentioned. One of the reasons she was unsure about accepting the invitation to this party was precisely the dancing. She knew that music and dancing were a staple at any party, and she had been fortunate enough to leave before it began, as her friends would have surely convinced or dragged her onto the dance floor.
"You don't like dancing?" Sora asked, visibly surprised. For him, dancing was a form of expression and fun.
Aqua hesitated for a moment before responding. It was true that in the past, dancing had been an important part of her training, helping her with her Keyblade mastery and enhancing her skills. However, over time and due to the experiences she had in the Realm of Darkness, she had distanced herself from that form of expression, and her abilities had faded away.
"It's not that I don't like dancing," Aqua began, trying to explain herself. "I know I used to do it, and it was a valuable part of my training in the past. But after everything I went through in the Realm of Darkness, I feel like I've lost the ability to do it the way I used to. I no longer have the same confidence and ease in dancing."
Sora looked at her with understanding in his eyes, sensing the vulnerability in her voice. He realized that dancing, for Aqua, was not just a physical activity but also a reminder of how past experiences can affect how we see ourselves and our abilities.
"Plus, I don't even know how to do it anymore," Aqua mentioned, feeling a bit embarrassed. Sora let out a small laugh that annoyed Aqua a little. "Hey, don't laugh," she reproached him.
"Sorry," Sora apologized, then he stood up from the bench and stood in front of Aqua. He extended his hand towards her, which confused her. "What if you remember how it's done?" Sora said, showing a radiant smile.
"W-what?" Aqua was extremely confused right now. Was Sora asking her to dance with him? She never expected him to make such a proposal. "I don't know if..."
"Come on, it'll be fun. There's no one out here who can see us, if that's what you're worried about," Sora mentioned, waving his hand for Aqua to take it. She wasn't sure if she should accept or not. In reality, she didn't want to do it, but something inside her whispered to take the hand of the boy who was looking at her with a radiant smile, with no intention of retracting his hand.
Aqua found herself at an emotional crossroads. On one hand, she had gone through so many disappointments and letdowns in the past that she found it difficult to open herself up to new experiences. She was afraid of becoming vulnerable again with someone, but Sora inspired trust and security in her. His sincere gaze and unwavering smile were a balm for her troubled soul.
Finally, a sigh escaped Aqua's lips as she took Sora's hand. "I-it's okay," she spoke, still unsure. The instant their hands met, a profound bond formed in Aqua's mind. In that moment, she experienced a connection. Each touch of their fingers unleashed a cascade of sensations, a symphony of emotions that resonated deep within her being. Electric currents coursed through her body, transmitting a magical energy that seemed to come from unknown dimensions.
And in the midst of that astonishing connection, everything seemed to fit perfectly. The warmth emanating from that contact was comforting, enveloping her in an inexplicable sense of security. In that moment, there was no room for doubts or fears; there was only the certainty that they had found a sanctuary.
Time stood still as their hands remained joined, as if the whole world waited to contain the magnitude of that encounter. In the depths of her being, she knew that this moment was unique and irreplicable, a gift from destiny perhaps.
"It will be fun," Sora led her to a secluded spot, away from prying eyes.
"Ready?" Aqua looked up at the boy, who gazed at her with a penetrating gaze and a faint smile curving his lips. In that moment, time seemed to freeze as their eyes met, creating a silent yet profound connection.
Aqua felt a lump in her throat and a quickened pulse in her chest. Her thoughts crowded her mind, a mix of excitement and nervousness that made it difficult for her to articulate words. She swallowed, trying to control her emotions and find the courage to respond.
Finally, with a barely audible voice and a trembling whisper, Aqua uttered a timid "yes." In that small word, her longing was contained.
The boy delicately interlaced his fingers with Aqua's. That gentle and tender gesture caused a subtle pink blush to color Aqua's cheeks, revealing the impact that action had on her inner self.
"May I..." Sora whispered, seeking Aqua's permission to position his free hand on her waist. Aqua's eyes met his, and in that exchange of gazes, sincere concern and respect emanated from Sora. Aqua nodded in response, unable to articulate words in that moment, trusting that her expression conveyed her consent.
With cautious gentleness, Sora placed his hand on Aqua's waist, establishing an intimate contact that sparked an electric current within her. Then, with an almost ethereal delicacy, Sora brought his body closer to Aqua's, creating a physical proximity that triggered a mixture of emotions within her.
At that moment, a wave of nervousness overwhelmed Aqua. She had never before experienced the act of dancing with someone else; she had always danced alone, learning on her own. And now, the idea of sharing this dance with Sora, the boy in front of her, heightened her insecurities and anxieties.
However, before Aqua could articulate a response, Sora interrupted with a soft and understanding voice. "If you're not sure about this, we can..." The words hung in the air, offering Aqua an exit, an opportunity to step back if she so wished.
Aqua's heart wrestled between the temptation to surrender to fear and the possibility of embracing courage. She took a deep breath and, with determination, pushed her insecurities aside.
"No, I want to do this," Aqua responded, her voice resonating with a mix of vulnerability and conviction.
"Then, let's go, Miss Aqua," Sora uttered with a gentleness that resonated deep within Aqua's being. With those words, he began to move his body with grace and fluidity, guiding Aqua in a gentle and precise manner so she could follow the rhythm. Though Aqua was still unfamiliar with partner dancing, Sora displayed unwavering patience, understanding that she was in the process of learning. Even if Aqua accidentally stepped on Sora's foot at times, he didn't mind, knowing that it was part of the learning process and he was willing to be patient. After all, he had been the one to invite her to dance, aware that there would be moments of adjustment and growth.
As the minutes passed, Aqua began to feel more comfortable and confident in their dance. She stopped stepping on Sora's feet, which was a relief for him, as he wasn't sure how many more accidental stomps he could endure from this enchanting girl. Gradually, Aqua adapted to the rhythm and movements, allowing herself to flow in harmony with Sora.
"I see you're getting better at this," commented Sora as their eyes met. In that exchange of gazes, Sora realized there was something captivating about Aqua, something that went beyond the physical. It could be her hair, her eyes, her smile, or her delicate and flawless appearance. Maybe it was the way their hands intertwined, or the way her body moved to the music. Perhaps it was the combination of all these elements that made it impossible for Sora to look away from Aqua.
In that instant, Sora understood that Aqua was a special person, someone who had managed to touch a sensitive chord in his heart. The connection between them was undeniable, and although the dance was merely an excuse to be close, Sora was beginning to realize that there was something deeper and more significant between them.
Aqua's tender and sweet smile illuminated her face, conveying a sense of gratitude and happiness. It was as if in that dance, they had discovered a window to a world of possibilities and shared emotions. In that moment, time faded away, and there were only the two of them, enveloped in the magic of the dance and the connection forged with each movement.
"Yes, I think so. I'm already remembering how it's done!" exclaimed Aqua with overflowing joy. She was surprised by how much she was enjoying this moment, something she had never imagined.
"Then, let's go faster," said Sora with determination, eager to take the dance to a new level. To the beat of the music resonating in the air, Aqua embraced the challenge and began to pick up the pace, following Sora's steps. Both allowed themselves to be carried away by the energy of the melody, moving with greater agility and grace.
They ceased being static in one place and began to explore the space around them. Like two souls in communion, they moved with perfect harmony, synchronizing their movements to the rhythm of the music. Every step, every turn, was executed with astonishing precision.
As their bodies danced and intertwined in a fast-paced dance, their gazes remained locked on each other. They never averted their eyes, as if they were magnets mutually attracting one another. In those eyes, they found trust, complicity, and the promise of a bond that went beyond the dance.
Time seemed to fade away as they immersed themselves in that magical encounter. Every glance, every movement, was a silent language that only they understood. Through their eyes, deep and sincere emotions were conveyed, creating an invisible yet powerful connection.
"This is fun," Aqua said with a radiant smile as they continued dancing. Sora let out a small laugh and replied, his voice filled with joy, "Yes, I told you it would be fun, Aqua." In that moment, Sora felt Aqua's grip on his hand tighten, a sign that she was also enjoying this moment of connection and complicity.
Suddenly, Sora felt an irresistible urge to express what he was feeling. "Can I tell you something?" he asked, with a hint of shyness.
Intrigued, Aqua responded, "What?"
"Now that I see you up close... you're very beautiful," Sora uttered, and Aqua was taken aback by those unexpected words. Even Sora surprised himself for saying them without considering the possible repercussions. He didn't exactly know why he had spoken those words at that precise moment, but he knew he wasn't lying. There was something about Aqua that captivated him in an inexplicable way, something that went beyond her physical appearance.
"Do you think I'm beautiful?" Aqua asked, her curiosity tinged with a subtle blend of astonishment and gratitude. Her eyes shimmered with captivating intensity as she awaited Sora's response.
Sora, with a slight blush on his cheeks, felt the need to explain himself.
"W-well, forget it," Sora stammered, trying to divert attention from the emotional moment. However, Aqua let out a small laugh, charmed by Sora's nervous reaction. A soft and tender smile formed on her face, reflecting the special connection they shared.
"You're handsome too," Aqua said, uttering those words with a sincerity that resonated in Sora's heart. His cheeks flushed even deeper, revealing the impact those words had on him. Aqua's laughter mingled with the night breeze as they continued dancing beneath a starry sky.
In that moment, Aqua realized something profound. Sora's presence, his touch, and his closeness enveloped her in a feeling of security and protection. All the dark thoughts that plagued her seemed to fade away in his company. In that magical moment, there was nothing else but the glow of shared complicity and happiness in her heart.
On his part, Sora also underwent an inner transformation. Feeling Aqua's hand intertwined with his, the brush of their bodies as they danced, filled him with a newfound sense of vitality and joy. He didn't fully understand why Aqua had such an effect on him, but every moment spent together made him feel more alive and happier.
In that dance beneath the stars, Aqua and Sora immersed themselves in a whirlwind of profound emotions. They melded in an intimate dance where their hearts synchronized to the rhythm of the melody, and their souls intertwined in a connection beyond words.
"I wish this would never end," they thought in unison. Deep in their hearts, they longed for time to stand still in that precise moment. They wanted to cling to the magic of the moment, to the intensity of their connection, without leaving room for goodbyes. They didn't want to part ways; they didn't want to let go of the hands that entwined with such harmony and warmth.
The desire to keep dancing and feeling each other rooted deep within their beings. They yearned for that union, that complicity, to endure forever. They wanted the outside world to fade away, leaving only that intimate embrace beneath the starry sky and the music that enveloped them.
Their hearts beat in unison, as if connected by an invisible thread that knew no barriers or limitations. In that moment, they understood that what they had was special and transcended any temporal measure. The wish for that magical instant to last forever flooded their souls.

By the way, the author doesn't mention it until much later in the story, and it's something that won't spoil anything for you. It's just that in this story, Sora is 17 years old and Aqua is 18. Only Sora's age was changed, I don't really know why, but hey, it's the original author's decision. I hope you liked it. I really don't have anything else to say.
