A Nocturnal Promise

The night enveloped Aqua, Ven, and Terra's home, as they had previously agreed. Sora, following his decision to spend the night with them, felt a certain discomfort, seeing himself as a burden in his friends' abode. However, it was evident to everyone present that such a belief had no basis. None of them considered Sora a burden at all.

The underlying reason for his discomfort in spending the night with Aqua, Ven, and Terra lies in the absence of a solid friendship bond. While Sora is undoubtedly their friend, he doesn't share the same level of trust he has with Riku or Kairi. His relationship with Ventus is the only one that truly holds great closeness in this context. However, with Terra, they have barely exchanged words on the rare occasions they've met, having had more clashes in the past than fluid conversations. As for Aqua, Sora has gotten to know her a bit more since her departure from the Realm of Darkness, and in the past few days, they have established a closer bond. Despite this, Sora still feels that they haven't reached a level of trust as deep as he would like, at least that's what he believes.

POV Sora

Terra, Aqua, and Ven's house boasts unparalleled comfort and a tranquility that demands I behave with absolute reverence. Honestly, I don't usually enjoy spending nights away from my home, but this time, I make an exception. Spending the night at my friends' house is a wonderful experience. Of course, I informed Riku so he wouldn't worry about my absence, explaining in detail the reason why I won't be coming home tonight. Right now, I'm in the guest room, a surprisingly spacious room.

Before coming here, Ven took me to his own bedroom, where we spent time together playing video games on the console he cheerfully owned. I also shared moments and conversations with Terra, dedicating myself to establishing a real bond with him and not just being a distant presence in Aqua and his life. Speaking of Aqua, I also spent time in the living room with her, enjoying her company and closeness. After all these interactions, I finally settled into the guest room, having taken a quick shower, ready to indulge in well-deserved rest until dawn.

However, before succumbing to sleep, I carried out my favorite nightly activity: gazing at the starry sky, with its magnificent glow and imposing stars decorating the darkness.

I whispered to myself, "I'll slip out when everyone is deeply asleep." Ever since the battle with Xehanort ended, I've been enjoying observing the starry sky each night and reflecting on the different worlds I've visited throughout my life. It brings me joy to think that everyone is doing well and that my friends in each of those worlds are happy and smiling, free from worries and dangers. After all, that's why we all fight: to keep them safe.

Knock, knock, knock

The gentle tapping on the door pulled me out of my thoughts, and without hesitation, I went to open it to discover who might be on the other side. I was sure it would be Ven, Terra, or Aqua, asking if I needed anything. However, in reality, there was no need at all, as I had comfortable sheets and pillows. I didn't require anything more to enjoy the night. Moreover, just letting me stay overnight was more than enough. With caution, I opened the door and found Aqua there.

"Hey, is something wrong, Aqua?" I asked as I observed her, though I already had an idea of what she would say.

"Hi, Sora. I was wondering if you needed anything," she said with a smile. I shook my head, as I mentioned earlier, feeling perfectly comfortable and not needing anything else. "Are you sure?" she asked again, concerned. I simply nodded, reassuring her with my expression.

"I'm fine, Aqua, really. I don't need anything, don't worry," I assured sincerely. Aqua simply nodded in response to my words. "Goodnight, Aqua. Sleep well," I wished her kindly.

"You too, Sora. Goodnight," she replied with a smile before she left. I gently closed the room's door, turned off the light, and snuggled into the bed, which was incredibly comfortable. I waited for a moment, wishing to slip out without waking anyone. I couldn't lie down without first gazing at the stars. It may sound somewhat trivial, but if I don't do it, I won't be able to have a restful sleep. According to my Gummiphone, it's 10:00 at night. I think it's time to go out, and besides, I feel the need to use the bathroom.

"Alright, be careful," I told myself as I slowly opened the door, being extremely cautious not to make any noise. I left the room, taking a small blanket with me, as I wouldn't go outside without something to keep me warm. I didn't want to catch a cold. The first thing I did was head to the bathroom, and after coming out, I made my way to the outside of the house. Indeed, as I stepped outside, I felt the coolness of the night. Bringing the blanket was a wise choice.

Sora continued his way under the starry night sky, descending the majestic and wide stairs until he reached the bottom. He decided to move away a bit from his friends' house, venturing into a secluded area that was perfect for stargazing. It was a location on the edge of an imposing cliff, a place that might cause vertigo in others, but heights were not a concern for Sora. His magical abilities made even a fall from great heights insignificant to him. Once there, he settled down and covered himself with a blanket as he directed his gaze to the heavens, just as he usually did. However, this time, everything felt different. Normally, he would share this moment with Riku and Kairi, and he assumed they would also be stargazing at this moment, as it had become a well-rooted tradition among the three of them.

"There are more stars than usual tonight," he mentioned as he took out his Gummiphone and captured a photograph of the dazzling celestial show. Ever since he had been given that device, he loved capturing images of anything interesting he came across, as evidenced by exploring his image gallery. It was filled with pictures of various worlds and fascinating scenarios. "Oh, I forgot to take a picture of the blue rose... Maybe I'll ask Aqua if she'll let me take a photo of it tomorrow, so I can show it to Riku and Kairi," he whispered with a smile, remembering the beautiful bluish rose and how Aqua had sung alongside him in that special moment.

"Now that I think about it... Aqua," Sora whispered, pausing for a moment to immerse himself in his thoughts about the Keyblade master. In recent times, they had had extremely close interactions, and it all started with that dance. At first, Sora invited her to dance with the intention of cheering her up a bit, as he noticed how Aqua remained motionless in her seat since she had arrived at the party. That's when she found him outside the castle, looking for a way to brighten her spirits, as he loved seeing his friends always in good spirits. So, without thinking too much about it, he suggested they dance together, never suspecting that that dance would awaken feelings towards the blue-haired wielder.

From the moment he took her hand, Sora experienced a sensation of the world around him fading away, leaving only space for Aqua and himself. Even today, when she led him to her garden, his hand instinctively sought hers as he observed her with a radiant smile. It was the first time someone asked Sora to talk and share, and Aqua listened attentively with a charming smile. Knowing that she wanted to learn more about him and his adventures... that made his heart beat so intensely that it seemed it might burst out of his chest. Every time he admired her radiant smile while listening to her words, Sora couldn't help but feel a deep and special connection that went beyond friendship, a spark of something that only time and destiny could reveal.

"Is this... is this love?" Sora whispered to himself. Throughout his life, he had never experienced something as profound as love. Yes, he had felt love from friends, sibling-like love; in fact, he had believed that was true love when he was in a relationship with Kairi. For a whole year, they lived as a couple, sharing hugs, protection, kisses... Everything a couple does. However, with time, their relationship didn't turn out as he expected, nor did it for Kairi. They both came to a mutual agreement to leave it there, but fortunately, they maintained a good relationship and remained great friends, almost like siblings, along with Riku. So, could it be said that what Sora was experiencing now was love?

It was a different feeling, deeper and more sincere. Every time he saw Aqua, his heart stirred with an intensity he couldn't ignore. It was as if time stood still in her presence, and only the two of them existed in that moment. Sora admired her strength, her bravery, and her kindness, and every gesture she made filled him with a warm glow deep within his soul. The connection he felt with her transcended words and actions; it was an emotional bond that seemed to grow with every encounter.

However, Sora found himself in unfamiliar territory. He didn't know if what he was experiencing was romantic love or simply deep admiration. How could he distinguish true love from a profound friendship? What did love truly mean in his life? These questions haunted him during his moments of reflection under the stars.

Despite the uncertainty, Sora allowed himself to delicately and patiently explore these feelings. He wanted to understand more about love and discover if Aqua felt the same way about him. He didn't want to rush, knowing that true love needs time to blossom and grow stronger.

"This is confusing," Sora murmured, lost in the confusion. How could he be sure that what he felt was truly love and not just a deep friendship? He recalled the various times he had heard explanations about love in the different worlds he visited. One particular memory emerged in his mind: Rapunzel once told him that when someone feels love for another person, their world seems to fade away around them. They can only think of that person, and every action and gesture from them makes their heart beat intensely. Feeling their hand provokes a warm and comforting heat that spreads throughout their body. And when they see that person, an avalanche of butterflies dances in their stomach.

"So... am I in love with Aqua?" Sora whispered, as the question resonated in his mind. Could it be possible that Aqua saw him through the same eyes? Or perhaps he was creating illusions of an impossible love? Uncertainty surrounded him, but a spark of hope also shone in his heart. He was willing to discover the truth and, if necessary, confront his feelings with bravery.

POV Aqua

No... not again. Please, not here. I can't bear sinking deeper into the darkness. No more. I won't be willing to descend once more into that abyss. My body feels immobilized, as if I'm petrified. I can't move, not even for a moment. I'm falling, falling into the depths of the seemingly endless darkness.

The sensation of being submerged in this nightmare is overwhelming. I keep telling myself that this isn't real. It's just a dream, right? Or maybe, the opposite is true... perhaps what came before was just a dream, and this is reality? NO, NO, NO, AND NO! This is a dream, just a dream.

My heart is racing wildly in my chest. My mind clings to the hope that this is just a fleeting nightmare, a dark passage in the labyrinth of my dreams. But as reality fades away and the darkness persists, the certainty that this is more than a mere dream settles deep within me.

Desperation engulfs me, fear takes over every corner of my being. My muscles seem frozen, unable to respond to my desire to escape from this never-ending nightmare. Every time I think I've hit rock bottom, the darkness looms larger and drags me even further into its unfathomable jaws.

I hold on to the last shreds of sanity as I beg for a liberating awakening. The echo of my voice gets lost in the abyss, fading into an eerie silence. My labored breath struggles to find its lost rhythm, but the air feels oppressive, suffocating.

I feel a pressure in my chest, an emotional heaviness that threatens to overwhelm me. Tears blur my vision, but I can't afford to give in to despair.

Wake up, wake up. WAKE UP!

I jolt awake, my breath heavy, and my face soaked in sweat. I touch my face, trying to confirm that it was all just an illusion. "I knew it... it was just a ridiculous dream." I always knew that respite from nightmares would be fleeting. Once again, I find myself dreaming that I'm immersed in darkness, being dragged into its depths. Luckily, I haven't woken anyone. That reassures me. I don't want to worry those around me.

I decided that it would be best to seek something to drink to calm my restless spirit. I got out of bed with determination, ready to find some relief in a glass of cold water. As I walked through the hallways of my home, shrouded in the darkness that troubled me, I reminded myself to be strong. The light of the kitchen became my target, the solution to my momentary problem. I continued my way, passing by Terra and Ventus's rooms, feeling a strange calmness knowing they were peacefully resting.

However, when I arrived at Sora's room, I noticed that the door was slightly ajar. I decided to approach and close it to protect him from the possible nighttime chill. Upon entering, my eyes explored the room for any sign of his presence. To my surprise, the bed lay empty, devoid of its usual occupant.

Uncertainty took hold of me, flooding my mind with unsettling questions. Could he have decided to leave? I couldn't believe that Sora would simply disappear without a trace. My attention turned to his jacket, hanging near the bed, an indication that he was still present in the home. But the question persisted: Where could he be at this moment? It's late; he should be sleeping, not wandering around the house in the middle of the night.

I gently closed the door to his room, hoping that his absence was only temporary and that he would return soon. I went downstairs, determined to fulfill my initial mission: to take a glass of water to refresh my restless soul. With the liquid in my hand after quenching my thirst with the much-desired cold water, I continued my relentless search for Sora, determined to find him and ensure his well-being. I started exploring the living room, looking for any sign of Sora. However, the space remained devoid of his presence. My next destination was the bathroom, but the lights were off, confirming that Sora was not there.

Worry clung to my chest as I tried to figure out the whereabouts of my dear friend. Where could he have gone in the middle of the night? What could have prompted his sudden departure from the bed?

My thoughts were crowded in my mind, filled with concern and doubt. As I headed towards the exit door of our home, I whispered softly the words I feared to admit: "What if he really left? What if he forgot his jacket?"

With caution, Aqua turned the doorknob and crossed the threshold, venturing into the night that lay before her. The cool air caressed her face as her eyes met the nocturnal scenery unfolding before her senses. Despite the darkness enveloping the surroundings, a blanket of stars shone brightly overhead, adorning the sky with its celestial glow.

Aqua approached Sora's gummy ship resting on the nocturnal horizon, under the starry sky. Its presence indicated that he hadn't embarked on a sudden journey and was still within his familiar environment. However, the mystery remained unsolved: where could he be?

Sighing with a mix of relief and concern, Aqua murmured softly, "Where have you gone?" With determined steps, she headed towards the gummy ship and examined it closely. The complexity of the machinery and the fact that Sora could handle it without the assistance of Donald and Goofy were a mystery to her.

As she scanned the surroundings for any clue, her gaze halted on a blurry figure sitting on the edge of what used to be her, Ven, and Terra's favorite spot to stargaze in the past. A glimmer of hope illuminated her being as she recognized the silhouette as Sora's.

Aqua's heart pounded with palpable longing as she approached him slowly.

In a barely audible whisper, Sora wrapped himself further in his warm blanket, delving into a whirlwind of thoughts. As he silently reflected, his words resonated in the air, filled with unmistakable sweetness and tenderness. "So, recapping...," he murmured to himself, letting emotions flow freely.

With each thought, Sora delved into the vast universe of love, exploring the corners of his heart and the experiences shared with Aqua. He knew he had found something special, something that went beyond friendship and merged into a deeper bond.

The soft and cozy blanket enveloped him like a comforting hug, while his fingers moved slowly, enumerating the signs he had recognized in his relationship with Aqua. Each point echoed with overwhelming clarity, confirming the existence of a pure and genuine love.

When he was with Aqua, he felt how his world faded away to give way to a universe of their own, full of complicity and connection. His heart, a loyal companion, beat strongly and with excitement at each encounter, as if wanting to tell him that he had found someone special.

Butterflies danced in his stomach every time she was near, her presence illuminating his being with a special glow. Every gesture, every word from Aqua was a poem that warmed his soul and strengthened his love.

In that moment of introspection, Sora realized that thinking about Aqua filled him with joy and happiness. She constantly occupied his thoughts, even in that very moment when he got lost in their shared memories.

The beauty of Aqua was a constant beacon in his life. Whether in her physical form or her charming personality, she radiated a radiant light that irresistibly drew him in. Every time he saw her, his heart swelled with admiration and wonder, unable to resist her charm.

In the midst of a broken sigh, Sora delved even deeper into his thoughts, letting sweet and tender emotions fill every fiber of his being. He had come to a clear and sincere conclusion: he was in love with Aqua, there was no doubt in his heart.

Though the answer seemed obvious to him, a lingering worry clung to his mind. Would his deep love for Aqua be reciprocated? The fear of not being loved back crept into his soul, leaving a trail of uncertainty in his thoughts.

The image of his friend Terra, who had also expressed his love for Aqua, slipped into his memory. Terra had shared his feelings with their friends, even with Ventus. This made Sora wonder if Aqua felt the same way about him. Could it be possible that Aqua and Terra were already more than just friends? The doubt wrapped around him like a soft veil of uncertainty.

"It's confusing and stressful," Sora murmured as he shook his hair, trying to clear the confusion that accumulated in his head. Every thought, every question that arose seemed to burn in his mind, threatening to overflow his emotions.

The uncertainty and fear of disappointment intertwined inside him, causing a knot in his heart. What if Aqua didn't feel the same? What if all the love he had built inside wasn't reciprocated? The questions were overwhelming, turning his mind into a whirlwind of unanswered inquiries.

A wave of anxiety washed over him, and his hands instinctively clutched his head, as if they could contain the storm of thoughts overwhelming him. He had never faced so many uncertainties in his life, especially when it came to someone as special to him as Aqua.

The soft whisper of a feminine voice resonated in the air, interrupting Sora's thoughts. He turned to the melodious call and found her standing behind him, watching him tenderly as he lay curled up on the ground, embraced by his comforting blanket.

Their eyes met in an instant, and in that magical encounter, all the doubts and fears that had tormented Sora vanished. It was Aqua, the person who had occupied his thoughts, who now stood before him, enveloping him with her gaze full of doubt and intrigue.

"A-Aqua, what are you doing here?" Sora stammered, his trembling voice reflecting the mix of surprise and nervousness that engulfed him. His eyes briefly glanced at the starry sky, avoiding her gaze out of embarrassment.

Aqua's response, filled with sweetness, resonated in his heart. "I think I should be the one asking you that question, don't you think?" she replied gently as she settled down beside him. Aqua's proximity filled Sora with a warm and comforting feeling, as if he had finally found his place in the world.

"How did you know I was outside?" Sora asked, turning his gaze back to Aqua. She looked directly into his eyes before answering.

"Your door was open, and I saw that you weren't inside," Aqua replied, and at that moment, Sora felt a bit silly for leaving his room door unlocked. "So, what are you doing here?"

"I just like to gaze at the stars before going to sleep," Sora said, looking up at the sky again. "I find them fascinating, so beautiful and bright, perfect to the sight... Riku, Kairi, and I used to watch them every night before going to bed," he mentioned with a smile as Aqua listened, also smiling. "It's incredible that, even though the sky may seem dark and ominous at times like these, it looks so beautiful when illuminated by those small and tiny stars... It makes me think that, no matter how gloomy and dreary the world may seem, there will always be a light that shows us otherwise," he concluded with a smile. Aqua smiled at the words of the blue-eyed youth. As she herself had mentioned on some occasions, Sora could seem like a child at times, but in other moments, he showed incredible maturity, and that delighted her. Despite everything he had experienced on his journeys, up to defeating Xehanort, Sora still found the positive side of things. Aqua admired that positivity in him.

"Don't you think so?" Sora asked, looking back at the girl. Aqua gently nodded, with a gaze full of tenderness and understanding.

"Yes," Aqua softly replied, not finding other suitable words to express herself.

"And you, what are you doing here?" Sora asked, with a slight expression of curiosity on his face as he turned his gaze towards the young Keyblade Master. He found it odd that she was also awake at this late hour, wondering if there was a special reason for it.

"Oh, well, I couldn't sleep," Aqua responded cautiously. Sora observed her closely for a moment, noticing how she hugged herself with her hands, trying to protect herself from the cold. It was evident that Aqua was only wearing black sleep shorts and a white short-sleeved shirt, so the coolness of the night was affecting her.

Sora felt a wave of concern and tenderness as he realized that Aqua was feeling cold.

"Do you want to come in?" Sora asked with a melodious and warm voice, gently raising his hand, holding the soft blue blanket toward her. The fabric seemed to envelop not only tangible warmth but also an aura of tenderness that surrounded them both. Aqua simply smiled, moving closer to Sora to share that cozy refuge. Together, they wrapped themselves in the warm embrace of the blanket, and a soft blush colored the boy's cheeks as he felt Aqua's closeness.

"It's warm..." Aqua whispered, snuggling even closer and feeling the comforting heat not only from the blanket but also from the boy beside her. A delicate and sweet tingle spread through her being, as if the simple contact was connecting them in a special bond.

Sora, with his eyes full of sweetness, asked gently, "So, you can't sleep?"

"Yes, it was just a nightmare, nothing important," Aqua responded with softness and sweetness that caressed the air. Her words seemed wrapped in a veil of delicacy, as if she wanted to protect Sora from any worry or discomfort.

"A nightmare?" Sora asked, his voice filled with genuine curiosity and concern. Aqua nodded, confirming her words. Sora brought his hand to his chin, reflecting for a moment before sharing something unexpected. "You know, sometimes I experience the same thing."

Sora's words caught Aqua by surprise. She couldn't believe that even he, with his radiant smile and luminous spirit, could have nightmares.

"You... having nightmares?" Aqua questioned, her blue eyes reflecting disbelief. Sora nodded with a serene and understanding gaze.

"Nightmares are inevitable; sometimes they visit us, and sometimes they don't. It's normal, I guess," Sora admitted with warm honesty.

"What kind of nightmares do you have?" Aqua asked with genuine interest, captivated by the idea of what kind of nightmares could affect someone as cheerful and energetic as Sora.

"They're quite varied, but the most frequent ones are those where peace and tranquility never arrived, where I keep wandering through the worlds, losing everyone: Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Ven, you... everyone," Sora explained with profound sincerity, while Aqua listened attentively to every word. "It's just dreams and thoughts of that... it scares me," he added with a hint of fear in his voice.

Aqua opened her eyes, impressed by what she had heard. Had she heard correctly? Sora had just revealed that he was afraid, and that was almost unimaginable. Throughout all the time she had known Sora, she had never seen him fear anything, not even in confrontations against Xehanort. This confession was surprising because she had always thought that Sora was invulnerable to fear, as if he were made of pure courage.

"Fear," Aqua repeated, full of doubt.

"Yes, fear. We all fear something. My fear is losing all of you," Sora confessed as he looked up at the starry sky, as if seeking answers in that vast nocturnal canvas.

"How can you forget that fear?" Aqua asked, intrigued. Perhaps Sora knew some special way to forget fear; after all, if she had never seen him afraid, there must be some way he managed to leave it behind.

"I wish I could give you a magical formula, but unfortunately, it doesn't exist. Fear is something no one can forget. It's true that without fear, we would all be brave, but we would also lose the essence of being human," Sora replied honestly, while Aqua continued to listen to his words attentively. "Fear cannot be forgotten... but it can be overcome."

"Overcome?" Aqua asked, still confused, as she looked at Sora, who was still contemplating the starry sky.

"Yes, overcome. Even though you can't forget fear, you can find the strength to face it and not allow it to control you. You can learn to live with it and not let it paralyze you," Sora explained.

"Have you overcome your fear?" Aqua asked, curious to know if he had applied that philosophy in his own life.

"Not yet," Sora answered softly, gently caressing Aqua's hand. "I'm still overcoming that gloomy and dark outlook that I was so afraid of... But like I told you before, no matter how dark and gloomy the world may seem, there will always be a light that will prove us wrong..." Sora said, turning his gaze toward Aqua with a radiant smile.

"That light is all of you," Sora whispered as he playfully touched his index finger to Aqua's nose, affectionately. The action caused a delicate pink blush to spread across the girl's cheeks, adorning her with an even more sublime beauty.

"U-us?" Aqua asked, a mix of astonishment and confusion in her voice.

"I don't understand... I don't understand how you can maintain such a positive attitude all the time," Aqua murmured in amazement, her voice filled with admiration and a hint of disbelief. She fixed her eyes on Sora, the blue-eyed boy.

"Every time I see you, you radiate such positive energy, an unbreakable joy," Aqua continued, trying to better understand the mystery behind Sora's determination. "And yet, I... I lack that attitude because of my own fear. That's why I can't understand how you, despite your own fears, can be so happy, so full of positivity."

Aqua, feeling vulnerable, hugged her knees while keeping her gaze fixed on the ground. Tension and sadness mixed in her expression. "I have nightmares... dreams where all of this we are experiencing is nothing more than an illusion, a deception. In those dreams, I find myself trapped again in that dark realm from which I managed to escape. And that idea, the possibility that everything I've experienced since I left that place is simply a creation of my mind, terrifies me."

Sora, aware of Aqua's emotional fragility, remained silent, listening to each of her words attentively.

"And the worst part is that I hate feeling afraid," Aqua confessed bitterly. "I hate that feeling of weakness, of being defenseless. Supposedly, I'm a Keyblade Master, someone who should be able to face any challenge without any fear."

"So you have those kinds of dreams. I don't know what it's like to be submerged in the realm of darkness for as long as you were. However, you don't have to worry," Sora replied. Aqua was about to speak, but Sora quickly intervened, preventing her from doing so.

"I know you must hear that every day. Don't worry, everything will be fine. It's not real, I know. I also know that you yourself know it's not real. But, despite that, you feel fear, right?" Sora observed as Aqua nodded, never taking her eyes off the sky.

"Yes, I just don't want something like that to happen again. Since I left the realm of darkness, I don't even know what happiness feels like anymore," Aqua admitted.

"You don't know how it feels, huh?" Sora said with a smile, confusing Aqua, who turned her gaze towards him. "Happiness doesn't have a form, Aqua," Sora stated with conviction, his voice resonating with a deep and meaningful tone.

Aqua, somewhat skeptical, responded with a snort, expressing her disbelief in Sora's words. However, he didn't let that discourage him and continued speaking, trying to convey his unique view of the concept. "But... if happiness could have a form, it would be that of a crystal," Sora claimed, capturing Aqua's attention, who looked at him perplexed, trying to decipher the hidden meaning behind his words.

Intrigued, Aqua couldn't help but ask, "Why a crystal?" Hoping for an enlightening response from Sora. With a mysterious smile on his face, he replied:

"Because it can be all around you without you even realizing it. However, if you change your perspective, it can reflect a light that can illuminate everything."

Aqua remained puzzled, trying to assimilate the abstract ideas that Sora was trying to convey to her. Perspective? Reflect?

"Sora, I don't understand what you mean," Aqua confessed sincerely. Sora chuckled softly, appreciating Aqua's honesty and willingness to try to understand.

"What I mean is that happiness is always within us," Sora affirmed as he placed his right hand over his chest, as if to point out the internal source of that emotion. His voice, now softer and deeper, conveyed a comforting calmness. "But," Sora continued, pointing with his index finger at one of his eyes, "it depends on how we see life to be able to feel it, don't you think?"

Aqua fell into a thoughtful silence as she processed Sora's words. Her gaze shifted to the ground, as if seeking answers in the recesses of her mind.

"I understand what you mean. I... I think that maybe one day I'll be happy again with everyone, but I fear that once I achieve happiness, catastrophe will happen again," Aqua expressed with a tone filled with melancholy. Her gaze was fixed on Sora, seeking comfort and understanding in his eyes.

Sora nodded with understanding before gently taking Aqua's hands in his. His gestures conveyed tenderness and support as he delved into the essence of her fear. "You're afraid of being happy, aren't you?" Sora stated calmly. Aqua nodded in silence, looking at Sora, whose warm and reassuring touch provided her with a sense of security.

"Aqua, fear is something we all experience and can't avoid," Sora continued, his words resonating with authority and wisdom. "Being a Keyblade Master doesn't mean you have to be fearless in everything. That would be absurd. Each one of us, regardless of age or status, feels fear. Fear of something. And, as I said, fear can't be forgotten, but it can be overcome."

Aqua squinted her eyes, trying to assimilate the perspective Sora presented to her. While holding her hands, the boy continued with determination, "But... Aqua, listen to me." He interrupted any doubts that might arise in Aqua's mind and urged her to pay full attention. She fell silent, fixing her gaze on Sora's eyes, recognizing the sincerity and deep understanding that emanated from him.

"You're afraid of being happy because that fear comes from the future," declared Sora calmly and clearly. "You go over and over in your mind questions like 'what will happen next?' or 'what if in the future...?' You constantly get stuck, either in the past or in the future. You're always spinning in your head about things that have already happened or that you believe will happen... but you don't stop to consider something important."

Aqua squinted even more, intrigued by Sora's enigmatic words. A glimmer of curiosity and hope began to appear in her gaze, indicating her willingness to uncover that hidden truth.

"In the now," replied Sora, capturing Aqua's interest. "You never think about the present. In this whole conversation we've had, you always mention things from the past or the future... but you never mention the now, the present that you're wasting," he declared with conviction.

Aqua felt confused by Sora's words and sought to understand their deeper meaning. "Wasting?" she asked curiously, hoping for a more detailed explanation from Sora.

The boy nodded slowly, allowing his words to sink into Aqua's heart. "Tell me something, what do you think will happen in the future if you're happy?" Sora posed the question, seeking to make her reflect.

"I think that if I'm happy in the future, everything will happen again, and I'll be trapped once more," Aqua responded, expressing her underlying fear.

Sora remained calm and looked her straight in the eyes. "And what if it doesn't happen that way? Will you live waiting for something that will never come?" he challenged, questioning Aqua's limiting perspective.

Aqua observed Sora earnestly, trying to grasp his confidence and certainty in his words. "Sora, I don't want to sound rude, but... how do you know? How do you know that nothing of what happened will happen again?" she asked cautiously, seeking answers.

"I just know," Sora replied with determination in his voice. "I have faith in it, Aqua... Let me tell you something, living the way you're living is a waste," he affirmed, his words resonating in the air with deep solemnity.

"A... waste?" Aqua murmured, trying to comprehend the gravity of Sora's words.

"Yes," Sora said seriously. "I didn't want to put it that way, but it's the truth. You're wasting your life, denying yourself to experience the wonderful and fantastic things that life has to offer. I repeat: fear can't be forgotten, but it can be overcome. And that's something you're not achieving," he emphasized.

Aqua found herself immersed in deep reflection as she absorbed every word Sora spoke. The seriousness in his voice and the conviction in his eyes conveyed an unshakable truth. Once again, the boy continued, revealing the secret of his own happiness and confidence.

"Do you know why I'm always happy? Do you know why I always smile? Do you know why my fear doesn't show?" Sora questioned with a tone laden with wisdom. "It's because I'm overcoming it. Both on my own personal journey and with the help of my friends, I'm facing and overcoming my fears. And you, Aqua, must do the same. You have to try to set aside those limiting thoughts and learn to enjoy the present, little by little, to overcome your fear," he declared with determination.

"Do you think that's possible? Do you believe I can overcome my fears little by little, as you say?" Aqua asked with some vulnerability, hoping for a hopeful response from Sora. Their eyes met, and she found herself captivated by the intensity of his gaze, which radiated confidence and unwavering support.

"That's why I'm here, Aqua. From now on, I, Sora, commit to helping you overcome your fears and find happiness. I want to see you laugh without fear, love without restrictions, and live fully. I promise you, I'll free you from your torments," Sora expressed with sweetness and determination.

Aqua was amazed by the words of the boy in front of her. Was Sora really offering her such help? Was he willing to accompany her in her process of overcoming? Why? What motivated him to offer so much support? These questions danced in the young woman's mind, unable to comprehend the reasons behind Sora's generosity. He had no obligation to do so.

"Sora..." she whispered his name, still surprised. "Would you really do that for me?" she asked with a mix of incredulity and doubt. The proposition seemed too good to be true.

The boy simply smiled and nodded firmly, radiating warmth and confidence. His eyes gleamed with genuine determination.

"Yes," Sora affirmed decisively. "I would do that for you, Aqua."

Uncertainty reflected in Aqua's eyes as she tried to understand Sora's motivations. Why was he willing to help her in such a deep and selfless way? She couldn't find logical reasons to support his generosity.

"Why?" she asked, still filled with doubts.

"Because you're the most important thing to me right now," Sora confessed softly, his eyes locked with Aqua's. The girl stared at him, surprised by the deep sincerity that emanated from his words. It was evident he wasn't lying; his eyes were transparent mirrors reflecting the pure devotion he felt towards her.

Aqua didn't know how to react to this sincere revelation. Seriously? Was she the most important thing to Sora? Her heart pounded, as if trying to escape her chest. A whirlwind of emotions engulfed her, making her increasingly nervous. Her face turned a soft crimson hue as her eyes remained connected with the boy's.

In that moment, driven by the avalanche of emotions flooding her being, Aqua let her heart guide her, and without a second thought, she embraced Sora with strength and tenderness. The boy was slightly surprised by Aqua's sudden movement, but quickly, with a warm and loving smile, he reciprocated the hug, wrapping his arms around the delicate body of the girl.

In that tight and comforting embrace, Sora felt the certainty that what he felt for Aqua went beyond simple friendship. His heart beat strongly, and thoughts of her filled his mind. "Yes, this is definitely love," Sora thought with a smile, as he immersed himself in the warmth and sweetness of Aqua's embrace.

At that moment, their bodies were joined, but so were their souls. The connection between them was so deep that they could feel each other's heartbeats. The hug became a safe haven, a place where they both found comfort and affection.

With her head resting on Sora's shoulder, Aqua felt her heart gradually calming down. She realized that she had found someone who understood her in the deepest part of her being, someone willing to help her overcome her fears and offer unconditional love.

"I-I'm sorry," Aqua stammered shyly as she pulled away from Sora, engulfed in the embarrassment of having momentarily let herself go.

"Don't worry," Sora murmured softly, letting his words slide like a comforting echo in the air. In that moment, Aqua curiously observed as Sora seemed to detach something from his neck, an action that didn't go unnoticed by her. "Take this."

"What is this?" Aqua asked with palpable curiosity, as she received in her delicate hands an object that Sora had handed to her with deference.

"This is my most treasured possession. It has accompanied me and provided unwavering support since I was just a little boy," Sora responded with a warm smile. Aqua began to slowly open her hand, finally laying her eyes on a silver necklace in the shape of a crown. She was left speechless as she looked at it, as it was the necklace Sora always wore; she had never seen him without it, not even for a moment. Was Sora really entrusting her with his most valuable possession?

"Promise me you'll give it back to me someday when you overcome your fears. This necklace means a lot to me. Surprisingly, it gives me great strength, and I sincerely believe it will benefit you too," said Aqua, letting out a smile full of complicity. Meanwhile, Aqua remained silent, her gaze fixed on the necklace. The magnitude of Sora's gesture overwhelmed her. He was entrusting her with his most treasured possession, an object he had carried with him at all times. It was an act of immense trust and love.

"When I feel lonely, or when I feel like I can't go on, I just have to remember the person who gave me this necklace, imagine how sad they would be to see me in that state... and it fills me with strength to keep going. I ask you to do the same if you ever find yourself in a similar situation," Sora added, with an expression of deep empathy and understanding.

With a palpable determination in her voice, Aqua spoke her words, full of promise and resolution: "I promise. When I overcome my fears, I will return this necklace to you." As she placed it around her neck, every movement was delicate and conscious, as if she was accepting not only the object itself but also its profound meaning to Sora and their special connection. After finishing, Aqua turned towards him with a radiant smile and the question full of hope: "How does it look on me?"

Sora, with eyes filled with admiration and tenderness, drank in Aqua's beauty with the necklace now adorning her neck. A sigh escaped his lips as he responded with a soft but sincere voice, "It looks wonderful on you."

Aqua, excited and somewhat shy in the situation, responded with gratitude, whispering an almost inaudible "Thank you." Her heart beat strongly, and inside her, a spark of love and gratitude towards Sora bloomed even more intensely.

With a gentle voice, Sora asked with concern, "Still can't sleep?" Aqua shook her head, revealing the unease that filled her.

"I'm afraid of falling asleep and returning to that place," Aqua confessed, her words laden with vulnerability and fear.

Sora, with a mischievous twinkle in his eyes, caught Aqua's attention, who looked at him with curiosity and a hint of doubt. "I know," said Sora, his voice resonating with tenderness. "Do you want me to tell you a bedtime story?" Aqua blinked twice, surprised by Sora's proposition. She considered herself beyond the age for bedtime stories, but couldn't help feeling a spark of intrigue and a sweet nostalgia for those childhood moments.

"I'm not a little girl, Sora," Aqua reproached, but her tone softened with a shy smile.

Sora let out a soft and charming laugh, like a melody floating in the air. "I know," he calmly replied. "But perhaps, just perhaps, a bedtime story will help you fall asleep." His eyes shone with unshakable confidence in the power of stories to bring comfort and peace.

Aqua contemplated his words for a moment. It was true that she was no longer a little girl, but her heart still held the same fascination and love for stories that had accompanied her for years. Moreover, the idea of hearing a story told by Sora awakened a special longing within her.

"Alright," she finally agreed, letting her voice intertwine with the gentleness of the night breeze. "But only because you'll be the one telling it to me."

Sora nodded with a smile full of gratitude and anticipation, honored by the opportunity to wrap Aqua in his story. He gazed at the starry sky as his mind delved into the search for a tale that could embrace Aqua's dreams and cradle her soul.

Determined to be creative and offer Aqua a unique story, Sora began narrating with overflowing passion. It wasn't a tale known to everyone but one he had crafted specifically for her. Each word that flowed from Sora's lips was a gift for Aqua, wrapped in the tenderness and love he felt for her.

Gradually, the story took shape and came to life. It was a tale of a brave young woman embarking on an adventure filled with dangers and adversities. Despite doubts and challenges encountered along her journey, the girl persisted, driven by the hope of finding her two lost friends. Each trial became an opportunity to showcase her courage and determination, guided by the flame of friendship and love.

With her eyes closed, Aqua immersed herself in the story woven by Sora. A tender and nostalgic smile formed on her lips. The protagonist of the story and the tales Sora presented resonated in her heart in a special way.

Time seemed to stand still as Sora continued his narrative on that starry night. Only his voice, soft and melodious, was heard, creating a setting filled with emotions and vibrant life. The cold wind became a silent witness to the deep connection between Sora and Aqua, as the story enveloped them in a magical embrace.

Each of Sora's words became a stroke of love, painting a canvas of hope and determination in Aqua's heart.

After several minutes, Sora concluded his story. However, instead of rushing to break the enchantment of the moment, his gaze lifted to the night sky, as if seeking the inspiration floating among the stars. But his attention quickly returned to Aqua, who rested peacefully against his shoulder, lost in the dreams woven by the story he had just shared.

A soft and radiant smile formed on Sora's lips as he looked at Aqua. With tenderness, he raised his right hand to gently push aside a strand of blue hair that obscured her face, allowing him to admire her in all her beauty. In that moment, the beating of his heart intensified, revealing the love that dwelled deep within him.

Aqua, with her unique and incomparable charm, had completely captured Sora's heart. Every aspect of her, from her piercing eyes to her azure locks, from her delicate features to her singular personality, from her smile to every trait that composed her, had seized his attention and evoked an ineffable connection within him.

Sora was experiencing a completely new feeling in his life, something he had never felt for any woman before. Aqua's presence had an indescribable effect on him—a combination of admiration, fascination, and a deep desire to protect and care for her. Now, in retrospect, he wondered why he hadn't stopped before to appreciate Aqua's unique beauty.

Until that moment, Sora had focused on the friendship they shared, the strength of their bond, and the challenges they had faced together. But in that moment of stillness, as he gazed at Aqua sleeping peacefully, the layers of his perception faded away, and he saw the beautiful and extraordinary woman who had been right in front of his eyes all along.

Aqua radiated a beauty that went beyond the physical. Every feature, every gesture, and every aspect of her being seemed delicately sculpted by the gods themselves. Her deep and serene gaze had the power to stop time, while her enchanting smile lit up the world around her. The grace with which she walked.

As Sora held Aqua in his arms, wrapped in the warmth of his own blanket, he noticed something deeply meaningful in that intimate moment. He was aware of the delicacy and fragility of his burden, and he felt overwhelmed by the responsibility to ensure her well-being.

"How can I carry her inside?" he thought with concern, realizing he hadn't anticipated this obstacle. He couldn't leave Aqua there, in the middle of the night, exposed. The idea seemed absurd and out of place. "Now what do I do?" he whispered to himself, seeking a clever solution that would allow them to cross the threshold of the house.

"I hope you're not too heavy, Aqua," he murmured as he gently cradled her head with one hand. With care, he took her by the legs, feeling the lightness of her being, and lifted her with a grace befitting fairy tales. In that moment, they seemed immersed in a magical waltz, where he was the knight, and she, his precious princess.

With delicate and cautious steps, Sora began to move forward as they ascended the stairs leading to Aqua's home. He gratefully noticed that the door was slightly ajar, avoiding another obstacle in their path. A relieved sigh escaped his lips as a conspiratorial smile appeared on his face.

"Alright, now where is your room?" Sora pondered as he had already made his way inside the house.

Sora proceeded through the hallways of the second floor, with Aqua's soft breath against his chest and the gentle swaying of his arms as he walked. Rooms followed one after another, all similar, but none of them Aqua's room. Still, the young man didn't despair; he wouldn't give up until he found the girl's room in his arms.

"Keep going, this can't be so complicated," he whispered with a hint of irritation, frustrated by his inability to find the desired room. Moreover, his arms were starting to grow tired from carrying Aqua. Sora continued moving forward, planning to turn right in one of the hallways. However, suddenly, he heard the sound of a door opening, which alarmed him. Quickly, he hid in the corner of the wall, cautiously peeking to discover who was responsible for the opening.

"Terra..." he whispered, recognizing the tall young man stepping out of the room, showing obvious signs of drowsiness indicating he had just woken up. Sora considered approaching him and asking for help to take Aqua to her room, since Terra knew the house better being a regular resident. However, he quickly reconsidered his decision, aware that Terra might misinterpret the situation and suspect that something wrong was happening with Aqua. After all, what would he think seeing the girl he was in love with being carried in the arms of another guy in the middle of the night while she was sleeping? Could he assume that something bad had happened to Aqua or that an incident had occurred? Therefore, Sora chose to remain silent and consider taking another route to avoid any misunderstandings.

"I could use something to drink," Terra yawned as he whispered, starting to walk and turning the corner of the hallway, right where Sora was. Fortunately, Sora quickly sought refuge in one of the nearby rooms to avoid being seen by Terra.

"That was close," sighed Sora, relieved that he hadn't been discovered.

Suddenly, his attention was drawn to a sound: "Snore, snore." Surprisingly, he found that the noise came from the snoring of a blond boy who was fast asleep in a bed. Sora realized that he was currently in Ven's room.

"This must be a joke," Sora whispered, unable to believe his bad luck at that moment. He stood by the door of the room, staring at it intently, while waiting for a few minutes just in case he encountered Terra again when he came out.

"What are you doing?" That sentence made Sora nervous. The voice he heard came from the blond boy he had seen sleeping moments before. Sora slowly turned his head toward the bed, feeling a wave of anxiety coursing through his body.

"V-Ven, it's not what it looks like, I..." Sora couldn't finish speaking, as he turned his gaze completely toward the bed, he realized that Ven was still fast asleep. Confusion took hold of him.

"What are you doing?... Zzz... Leave my... Zzz... ice cream... Zzz," mumbled Ven in his sleep. Sora sighed in relief, realizing that he hadn't been discovered again. It seemed like Ven was sleep-talking, which gave him a break.

However, Sora decided not to let his guard down. He stayed by the door of the room, vigilant and silent, as he waited a few more minutes before leaving.

"Alright, I think I can go now," thought Sora as he slowly opened the door of the room without making any noise. Once outside the room, he closed the door very carefully. Reasoning that if Ven and Terra's rooms were so close to each other, Aqua's room was likely to be nearby as well. With determination, Sora continued walking, following his original path. As he passed Terra's room, which he noticed was closed, he deduced that Terra had already returned to his own room.

Finally, he arrived at the last remaining room in the hallway and, to his relief, it turned out to be Aqua's room. A sigh of happiness escaped his lips as he confirmed he had found the desired destination. With great care, he opened the door and entered the room, making sure not to wake Aqua as he gently settled her into her bed. The calm and serene atmosphere of the room was comforting, and Sora felt relieved to have completed his mission of taking Aqua to her own resting space.

"Alright, now, give me my blanket," said Sora with determination as he carefully took the blanket covering Aqua, trying not to disturb her sleep. Unfortunately, Aqua had a tight grip on the blanket with her hands and showed no intention of letting go. Sora felt frustrated and disappointed by this situation, as if Aqua didn't release the blanket, it meant she wouldn't have anything to keep warm with that night.

"This must be a joke," he sighed in disappointment. He continued trying to take the blanket, but he was not successful. He couldn't help but wonder how Aqua could be so strong even while asleep. Realizing he wouldn't be able to make Aqua let go of the blanket, Sora decided to give up on that attempt.

With the delicate touch of an artist, Sora took the soft sheets covering Aqua's bed and wrapped them around her with unmatched tenderness. Every carefully placed fold reflected his dedication and desire to provide her with utmost comfort and protection.

Once he completed the act of tucking her in, Sora couldn't resist the need to offer some last words of encouragement and love. Leaning towards Aqua's serene face, he whispered with a soft yet determined voice:

"I promise you'll overcome your fears, Aqua. I'm here for you, to make your heart smile without any fear." His words, filled with hope and commitment, resonated in the silence of the room, infusing the air with their profound meaning.

With the same gentleness he had used to tuck her in, Sora let his right hand glide through Aqua's hair, caressing it with indescribable tenderness. Each movement of his fingers seemed to convey the calm and affection that resided in his heart, seeking to soothe any restlessness that might dwell in Aqua's soul.

Upon completing that moment of shared tenderness, Sora let out a sigh of contentment. He knew he had fulfilled his task of caring for and comforting Aqua at that precise moment. With stealthy and respectful steps, he prepared to leave the room, leaving her immersed in a deep and peaceful slumber.

"Sweet dreams, Aqua," he murmured from the doorway with unparalleled sweetness. His words, filled with affection and protection, floated in the air like a whispering melody that enveloped Aqua in a sphere of peace and tranquility. A small smile appeared on the young woman's lips, as if her subconscious had grasped Sora's loving message and his tender caresses.

POV Aqua

The radiant morning sun filtered its rays through the window, gently waking me from my slumber. Silently, I thanked the heavens for not having nightmares this time, perhaps owing to the deep conversation I had with Sora the night before and the comforting melody of his bedtime story, which, to my surprise, had truly worked its magic. A wave of gratitude and joy washed over me completely.

As I got up from the bed, I sat on the edge, immersing myself in a sea of thoughts. The previous night echoed in my mind, and Sora's words repeated over and over, while I held the necklace that once belonged to him, now turned into a symbol of our connection and trust.

"That's why I'm here, Aqua. From now on, I, Sora, commit to helping you overcome your fears and find happiness. I want to see you laugh without fear, love without restraint, and live to the fullest. I promise to free you from your torments." These words, filled with determination and unconditional love, resonated in my heart and fueled the spark of hope growing within me.

A tender smile spread across my face as I recalled the promise Sora had made to me. It was evident that his concern for his friends was genuine and profound. Not only had he expressed his intention to help me, but he had also demonstrated an empathy and sensitivity woven into each of his words and actions.

"Because you're the most important thing to me right now."

The revelation that I was the most important thing to Sora immersed me in a whirlwind of indescribable emotions. My face blushed with a delicate shade of pink as I pondered the meaning of this sentiment. Could I truly be happy knowing that I was the most precious thing in Sora's life?

A retrospective glance allowed me to understand that when I am with him, I experience an unshakable sense of security, an enveloping protection, and a boundless joy. In his presence, the world fades away entirely, and I never want his hand to let go of mine. But why? Why is Sora the only person capable of evoking these feelings in me since I left the Realm of Darkness? I would even dare to say that I never experienced anything similar with Terra.

This questioning plunged me into an ocean of doubts and profound reflections. Could this be love? And if it is, is this love wrong? I find myself at a crossroads, torn between the deep feelings I hold for Sora and the uncertainties lurking in my mind.

It's true that when I met Sora, he was just a child, while I remain unchanged in the same age since that encounter. My physical appearance hasn't changed, but my mind has grown and matured over time. On the other hand, Sora kept growing, and now he's almost the same age as me. These discrepancies plunge me into confusion and lead me to question the nature of my feelings.

The rules of love and social conventions intertwine in my mind, filling me with unanswered questions. Is it appropriate to love someone who has grown while I remain the same? Are there limits in love when it comes to age and appearances?

Knock, knock, knock

"Uh?" My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the door. I turned my gaze towards it and asked curiously, "Who is it?"

"Aqua, it's me, Ven. I was coming to see if you were awake. Breakfast is ready," Ven replied from the other side of the door. Then I heard Ven's footsteps moving away.

I got up from the bed and prepared to leave my room. At that moment, I decided to postpone making the bed. I felt a little lazy about it. I went downstairs to the kitchen, where Ven, Terra, and Sora were waiting for me. The three of them were sitting, ready to have breakfast together. I approached them and greeted them.

"Good morning, guys," I said as I sat at the table with them. The three of them greeted me back with a smile.

"Good morning, Aqua," they replied in unison. I took a seat, and we began to enjoy breakfast together. As usual, Terra had been in charge of preparing the food.

"How did you sleep, Aqua?" Terra asked me with his gentle and kind voice. That simple question awakened a storm of uncertainties within me. My mind struggled to understand how I had ended up in his room since I distinctly remembered not going there the night before. So, how was it possible that I woke up in my own room? A feeling of intrigue and curiosity took hold of me, searching for answers in the recesses of my memory.

However, before I could even start forming hypotheses, a flash of clarity enveloped me. A clear and compelling thought emerged in my mind, pointing to the one person who could have been responsible for me ending up in my bedroom. My eyes instinctively turned towards Sora, the spiky-haired boy who looked at me with complicity and a slight smile on his lips.

In that precise moment, a wave of emotions surged within me. My cheeks were burning, and a warm blush was spreading across my face as I envisioned Sora carrying me in his arms to my room. Just the act of imagining it made me feel a mix of nervousness and tenderness, as if a myriad of butterflies were fluttering inside me. It was an overwhelming sensation, yet an indescribable sweetness flooded every fiber of my being.

"I-I slept well, Terra," I said, my voice slightly trembling as I tried to conceal the blush that colored my cheeks. It was evident that the emotions overwhelming me couldn't be completely contained. Despite that, my determination to maintain composure reflected in my voice, although my eyes were gleaming with a special twinkle, a reflection of the spark that had ignited within me.

Breakfast proceeded in a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere. After a while, we all finished eating, washed the dishes, and got up from the table. I went to my room and began to meticulously make my bed. I always made sure my room was tidy and as immaculate as possible because I valued having a clean and organized space. While I straightened and folded the bed sheets, something caught my attention: there was a blanket that definitely wasn't mine.

"Where did I get this from?" I wondered aloud. At that moment, I remembered that Sora had brought an identical blanket the night before. The possibility that this blanket in my hands might be his was baffling, but I had to confirm if it was his.

Sora was in his room, meticulously making his bed to look impeccable, just as it had been handed to him. As he put on his characteristic jacket, he noticed that his blanket, which usually covered his bed, was missing. With a clear idea of who had it, he decided to find Aqua to ask her to return it so he could place it back in its place.

He left his room and started walking through the hallways towards Aqua's room. After the events of the previous night, Sora already knew the exact location of the girl with blue hair's room. Once there, he gently knocked on the door, calling for Aqua.

"Aqua," Sora pronounced delicately as he waited for the door to open. It didn't take long for the girl with blue hair to appear in front of him. Sora greeted her with a warm smile.

"Hi, Aqua," Sora greeted her in a friendly manner as he saw the girl outside her room.

"Hello, Sora," Aqua responded with equal courtesy, seeing the young boy with blue eyes in front of her.

"Hey, I wanted to ask if you could give me the blanket back. I need to put it back in its place," Sora requested. At that moment, Aqua confirmed that the blanket in question indeed belonged to Sora's room.

Aqua hurried back to her bed and took Sora's blanket. Then, she returned to the boy and handed it to him. "Sora, can I ask you something?" she said as she handed him the blanket.

"Sure," Sora replied with his characteristic smile, willing to listen to Aqua's question.

"With what did you keep warm last night?" Aqua asked with curiosity, interested in how Sora managed to stay warm if she had her blanket.

"Oh, well, I slept without anything," Sora said with a smile. "Last night, you didn't want to let go of the blanket, and I didn't want to wake you up, so I just left it with you. You have quite a grip when you sleep," he added playfully.

Aqua immediately became worried. "You could have woken me up. I can't even imagine how cold you must have been last night. What if you catch a cold or something worse?" she expressed her concern.

Sora simply shook his head at her comment. "Don't worry, it's not a big deal," he assured her, trying to downplay the matter.

"By the way, thanks for bringing me last night."

Aqua, feeling even more flushed, timidly thanked Sora for carrying her to her room the night before. The image of Sora carrying her in his arms and wandering through the house unfolded vividly in her mind, awakening feelings of gratitude and admiration towards him. Her words intertwined with the softness of the wind, filled with sweet nervousness.

Sora responded with a warm and reassuring smile, reflecting the joy of having been able to help her. His words resonated in Aqua's heart, caressing her like a gentle melody. "You don't have to worry, Aqua. You're so light... did you know that?" Sora let out a soft laugh as he began to make his way to his own room. The warmth of his words and his smile left Aqua immersed in a whirlwind of emotions, her cheeks taking on a soft rosy hue.

After a few minutes had passed, it was time to depart. Sora was outside with Ven, Terra, and Aqua, who were bidding him farewell before he embarked on his journey in the gummi ship.

"Well, thanks for letting me stay at your house, guys," Sora expressed his gratitude for his friends' hospitality. His words were met with warm and sincere smiles.

"Don't mention it, Sora," responded Terra with a smile. "You'll always be welcome here. You can stay as long as you need."

"And you can come to play anytime you want!" added Ven enthusiastically, his face lit up with a playful smile. "But next time, I'll be the one hiding." His comment elicited a smile from Sora and made him feel welcome and accepted.

"Of course, Ven," Sora replied with a knowing smile.

Aqua, on the other hand, observed the gummi ship with curiosity and some fascination. "I still don't understand how you can handle that thing," she commented, looking at Sora.

"It's pretty easy when you've been traveling with it for a long time," Sora said with a smile, conveying confidence and familiarity in piloting the gummi ship. Aqua smiled in response, appreciating her friend's skill.

"Well, see you guys. Take care," Sora bid farewell as he boarded the gummi ship and started to power it up. The ship lifted into the air and quickly disappeared into the horizon. Terra, Ven, and Aqua watched his departure.

"I hope Sora will let me pilot it someday," Ven commented with a smile.

"What do you guys plan to do now?" Terra asked, turning his gaze to Ven and Aqua, who were still there, lost in their own thoughts.

"I'm going to read for a while and maybe visit my garden later," Aqua replied, feeling eager to enjoy a moment of tranquility and connection with nature.

"I'm not sure what to do right now," Ven admitted, starting to ponder how to spend the rest of his day.

After Sora's departure, a hint of sadness settled in Aqua's heart. She didn't want him to leave so quickly, for who knew how long it would be until their paths crossed again? However, aware that they would see each other at some point, Aqua tried to find comfort in other activities.

She attempted to immerse herself in the pages of the romantic book she had left unfinished, seeking solace in the magic of its words. However, her mind remained anchored in the memory of Sora and the uncertainties that accompanied it. The reading became a mere mechanical exercise, unable to fill the void his absence left. With resignation, she closed the book and set it aside, accepting that she couldn't find comfort in those pages at the moment.

She decided to seek refuge in nature, in her beloved little garden. It was there that she found peace and connection with something greater than herself. With a serene step, Aqua returned inside her home to leave the book, and upon exiting, she took a watering can in her hands, ready to nourish and care for her little corner of beauty.

Once in the garden, Aqua began her usual routine, inspecting each flower delicately and ensuring they were healthy and radiant. Each petal seemed to emanate an intoxicating fragrance that filled the air, reminding her that, even when people drift away, beauty and life continue to flourish.

Step by step, Aqua watered each of the flowers with the watering can, giving them her love and attention.

"Alright, now it's your turn, Tenma," Aqua whispered as she began to water the plant delicately. Then, she sat next to the flower, feeling somewhat tired after spending a good amount of time under the intense rays of the sun.

"It's so hot," she whispered to herself as she wiped the sweat from her forehead. That day, the heat seemed more intense than ever. While it favored the growth and beauty of the flowers, it also meant more exhaustion for her.

As she observed the garden, her mind filled with memories. She couldn't help but remember how she had shown the garden to Sora and how he had been excited like a young child while contemplating the different flowers in the place. Especially, she remembered the expression of surprise and wonder when Sora discovered the blue rose, which he named Tenma. That memory made her smile, as she had never before witnessed someone so amazed by the beauty of flowers.

Aqua immersed herself in her thoughts as she observed the blue rose, which danced to the rhythm of the wind blowing at that moment. A strange and powerful sensation enveloped her whenever she was with Sora, and she couldn't help her heart from beating strongly, as if the whole world disappeared around her. She wondered about the reason for these intense emotions that Sora awakened in her, without finding a clear answer.

"I've never experienced anything like this before," she confessed to the blue rose, as if it could understand her. "Not even with Terra. Sora stirs up a torrent of positive emotions in me, and when I'm with him, I feel like I can smile without fear. So, I wonder if this is what they call love. I know what love is, or at least I think I do, but this is different, it's overwhelming. Sora makes my heart beat faster and makes me nervous when I'm near him. Could it be that I'm in love with Sora? Moreover, I feel like it could be wrong, because even though he was a child before, he isn't anymore... but still, doubts invade me and I can't find answers."

Aqua stayed gazing at the flower for a few moments, silently reflecting on her feelings and the uncertainties surrounding them. However, she soon realized the obviousness of the situation and let out a soft laugh. "I just realized you're a flower and can't answer my doubts," she said, somewhere between amused and resigned. She had shared her most intimate concerns with a plant that couldn't offer her comfort or answers.

Sora was traveling back home on the gummy ship, where Riku and Kairi were waiting for him. After the troubles and events they had experienced, the three of them had decided to settle together in a house on Destiny Islands. Their goal was to stay together as a happy family and avoid being separated again. Upon arrival, Sora disembarked from the ship and hurried to the door of his home, opening it with enthusiasm.

"I'm back!" he exclaimed at the top of his lungs, making sure Riku and Kairi heard his arrival.

"Do you always have to shout every time you come into the house?" asked Riku, who was in the living room and, to Sora's surprise, engrossed in reading a book. Sora simply smiled and nodded in response. "Anyway, how was your trip?"

"It was great, though I feel a bit stuffy," Sora confessed. Since he woke up that day, he had felt a slight nasal congestion, although it wasn't anything serious.

"Stuffy? I hope you're not developing a cold," commented Riku with concern. Sora got a little nervous at that possibility, as he didn't want to be forced to spend the whole day or even longer in bed because of a cold.

"Don't worry, Riku. I don't think it's anything serious," he tried to reassure himself. "It's just a minor annoyance, I'm sure it will go away soon."

Sora attempted to hide his nasal discomfort, but uncontrollable sneezes betrayed his true condition. Riku, with a teasing smile on his face, couldn't contain his laughter upon hearing the sneezes.

"Did I hear correctly? Was that a sneeze I just heard?" said Riku, laughing, as he looked at Sora.

"No, it can't be. It must have been your imagination... ACHOO!" Sora tried to deny it, but another sneeze interrupted him, confirming his condition.

"Of course, of course, let me go get the thermometer," joked Riku as he got up from the couch and headed to the kitchen. Sora couldn't believe what was happening. This couldn't be real. He didn't want to be confined to bed for days, unable to do anything. It was worse than any form of torture.

"And all because I didn't dress properly last night," muttered Sora, annoyed with himself. However, he couldn't blame Aqua for this. After all, he was the one who left her the blanket to keep warm. "I just hope it's nothing serious... ACHOO!"

Alright, here concludes the chapter. I hope you liked it. A curious fact is that the story I'm translating is a remake that the author made. The interesting thing is that before being corrected, the story had typical parts where the protagonists sang, but the author replaced all of that with new dialogues. So, the parts where there were supposed to be songs were removed and replaced with dialogues that enrich the story even more.
