Where am I?

The words rang out in Lloyds head as he looked around. His brief fight with Morro had taken him to places he was both familiar and unfamiliar with. The horrors of both The Underworld and The Realm Of Madness, The clear skies of Cloud Kingdom, and another place he was not familiar with. But as he stared at the sword of Sanctuary that told him to remain in the current realm, he saw nothing but a black void within its shiny exterior.

Do I have no future? Am I about to die? He continued to dwell upon his failure to prevent his current predicament. Maybe he could have fought harder against Morros possession. Or found a way to free his father, in order to gain his help. Father… Garmadon was the only thing on Lloyds mind after the immediate shock of what had just occurred. But that was before he ended up here. He looked around at his new environment.

Around him were several floating islands. Not unlike the vast city within Cloud Kingdom. However, something about it felt grander, yet at the same time, less honest. The skies above were in a permanent state of orange. As if dusk had only just occurred. There were no people around him, though the distant sound of wind could be heard. Better find a way out before-

A large sword was hurled in Lloyds direction. He summoned his elemental power, casting the sword away from him, back at the user. An angry, gray bearded man approached Lloyd. Attempting to strike at his torso. The man, or whatever it was, had a red chestplate and bandana, and had a large sword, with dual ax-blades to either side of the glowing hilt.

"An invader from lands unknown. Come to destroy Djinjago while we are down, have you? Your kind makes me sick." Said the bearded man. His strike missed by only an inch as Lloyd ducked out of the way.

"W-wait! I'm not your enemy!" Lloyd sputtered out. "I got stuck here! I just want to go back to Ninjago!"

The man stopped. "It seems I share my son's rash nature. If only he hadn't been such a fool, as to leave us when we needed an heir the most. I apologize, child of Ninjago. Who are you?"

"Lloyd Garmadon! It's nice to meet you, well, when you weren't trying to kill me.." Lloyd looked at the glowing blade he held.

"Kill? No no no. This is the DjinnBlade. A weapon made of Chronosteel, back when it could still be found in large quantities. Those who are struck down by it are transported within the confines of its crystal. Their powers are forfeit to the blade, accessible by the user. Anyone trapped can be freed, but there is rarely a case where an invader would be so easily released.."

"Chronosteel?- Im sorry- im a bit out of my mind right now.." Lloyd held his head. His battle with Morro had made him tired, and a splitting headache had taken hold of his mind.

"Fear not, all can and will be explained, Garmadon. I will take you to the palace. You will be safe there until we can bring you back to your own realm." The orange man held out his hand, as Lloyd took it.

"Thanks.. But- who are you?"

"Khanjikhan. Welcome to Djinjago."

(In Ninjago . . .)

R.E.X raced off into the harbor, as several people stared in awe at the large vehicle. Ronin sat in the cockpit, while Jay sat next to him, looking back to the cargo area of the ship every few seconds.

"Thanks for letting me come along with you Ronin, but- was it really a good idea to put Nya in the safe?"

"Ah relax. Not like I got much money in that thing after I dumped it all on my shop. You still owe me 50% of it!"

"When was that decided?!" Jay's temper grew as light electricity appeared in his hands. Unintentional of course.

"Cool it! I was making a joke! Aren't you the funny one?"

"Not when Nyas hurt, and we don't even know what's wrong with her!"

"Easy. Nyas not dying on my watch." Ronin pulled over to the side of the police department's office. Jumping out. "Oh. And can you do most of the talking? Me and The Comish' go way back, but that doesn't mean he's not gonna let me off the hook for all that robbing I did."

Jay rolled his eyes and nodded. Opening the safe and taking Nya out. Picking her up, and entering the complex. Several police saw the injured ninja, and ran over.

"We'll get a medical professional over here immediately!"

"Thanks.. But we need to speak to The Commissioner immediately!" Jay replied, as several officers took a hold of Nya, and the two were led to the top floor, where the office was.

Within the walls of The Commissioner's office, he sat in the same seat he had been sitting in for several years, as he had been in this position for a long time. Both his position as the head of the police, and in the chair, which he had purchased for a hefty sum not long ago. He sat at the table, continuously painting the same strip of wood on his model ship, over and over again. He didn't mind that he made absolutely no progress on the ship regardless of how busy he was at any given time, he was just happy that he was able to have an excuse to not deal with anyone for a long period of time, as the boat was the perfect excuse for him to-

(Knock Knock.)

Great.. The Commissioner cupped his hands to his mouth. "If it's anyone but The Mayor, tell them my office has been flooded or something!"

"Sir! It's The Ninja!"

"All of them?"

"Sorry- two of them, one unconscious, the others very angry, there's also a criminal with him, but i'm afraid if we try arresting him The Ninja is gonna fry our heads off with that electro-elemento nonsense!"

The Commissioner let out a deep sigh. "Alright.. Send em' in."

Jay and Ronin walked in. The Commissioner immediately shot Ronin a dirty look, as Ronin let out a toothy grin in response. "Hey Commissioner! Knock knock?"

Even Jay had to admit, this was the worst time for a joke.

"No jokes Ronin. Why are you two in my office?"

"Sir! There's a giant ghost that's also the living realm of ghosts that's coming here to curse all of Ninjago!" Jay reasoned.

"On any other day, I'd probably trust you. Stranger things have happened. But why is this pest here with you?"

"He was the only one with a plane!" Jay smiled.

"Hey! Don't sell me that short! I can steal far more than you can badmouth me!"

The Commissioner looked at his watch. "There's barely any time to evacuate the entire city. And where?"

Jay explained the entirety of the plan Misako and Zane had come up with. It was a longshot, but it'd have to work for everyone's sake.

"I'll phone the Mayor and send some ships. You think your Nindroid friend could broadcast the coordinates of the steamboat to the HQ?"

"Yea! Probably!.." Jay replied. In all honesty, he had forgotten the full extent of Zanes abilities. It had been years since they found out that he wasn't human, like the rest of them, but it had barely been any time since Zanes body was revamped.

The two exited the office, looking to the area where Nya had been taken to. They entered a small medical bay of the police HQ, looking around, and seeing Nya being tended to by a lone doctor.

"There there.. Just take some deep breaths. Keep your eyes closed a bit longer." Said the doctor. A young brown haired woman, around Nyas age, slightly older perhaps.

Nya lied on the bed. She had since woken up, in complete confusion as to what had occurred. The last thing she could remember was her vision of… She couldn't fully comprehend it. She coughed and wheezed, as if her insides had been pierced by a sharp needle of water. "I don't.. Understand.. What did I see?.."

"Shhh.. It's alright. You're safe. Your friends are here."

"Nya!" Jay ran up to Nyas' side. Ronin stood behind him. While it hadn't been nearly a week since he had betrayed the Ninja multiple times, he had a soft spot for Nya. Perhaps it reminded him of a life he could've had, if he decided not to pursue a criminal lifestyle. Children he could have raised, a wife he could've loved. Nya was like a daughter figure in his solitary existence.

"Jay!.. Did we win?.. Are the ghosts gone?"

"About that- the rest of us are kind of- trapped aboard that ship.. The Commissioner sent a boat out to get them off."

"Jay.. There's.. I saw it.. I saw something.."

"Nya? What are you talking about?" He held Nyas hand. Leaning in closer.

"She's been muttering about some hallucination she had. Whatever it was caused her enough stress to completely black out. Her muscles also appear to be heavily strained as a result of her excessive use of elemental power, according to her at least. Maybe you know what she's talking about?"

Nya coughed again, before opening her eyes. "I saw a vision.. I couldn't see anything else.. It looked like- Ninjago? It was completely destroyed.. I was stuck on the floor. I couldn't move my limbs.. The Preeminent was there but it couldn't move either. It looked like it was frozen. Morro was standing above it with The Realm Crystal and The Sword Of Sanctuary. He turned to look at me and.. Disintegrated?"

She settled into her position as she closed her eyes again. "There was a man in front of the pile of ash that used to be morro.. He had a trenchcoat and a hat on.. I couldn't see his face, but.. He started walking to me. He began to jog, then run to me. Leaping on my face.. I fell through the floor.. And.." Nya couldn't bear to describe the monstrosity she was forced to witness in her vision any longer. The horrors of which could only be dreamed in the dimented minds of those who unleashed The Preeminent in the first place. It all circled around in her mind. The ghosts, Morro, That Man. A jinxed warning of things to come? A vision of a failure not yet thought out? It didn't matter. What happened couldn't be undone. If her failure would cause the future she foresaw, she'd rather not live to see it come to fruition.

"Don't worry Nya! You'll be ok in no time. I'm sure it was all a bad dream!"

"But.. she said she was awake when she had the hallucination?" The doctor asked.

"You know what I meant- look! Will Nya be well enough to stand on her feet soon? When Ninjago gets evacuated, I don't want her to get left behind."

"It's my job to keep my patients safe. I'd fight off a million ghosts to save her." The doctor smiled at the two.

"That's a nice sentiment, but if a million ghosts were after me, I'd probably just plain give up." Ronin remarked. "Who are you anyways?"

"Tonya. It's nice to meet you both. Where'd you get the red straw hat sir?"

"Heh. Stole it off a destroyed stone warrior back in my relic hunting days. Looks pretty good, huh?"

"We don't have time for this!" Jay continued to get frustrated. This was testing the limits of his patience. "We need to head out and warn whoever won't get the message in time!"

"Jamanakai?" Asked Ronin.

"Good thinking!" Jay said. Running out of the HQ,and into R.E.X.

"I will stay with Nya. I won't let anything happen to her!" Dr, Tonya said. Ronin nodded in approval, running out to join Zane on R.E.X.

As the two headed out to warn the rural areas of Ninjago, they were unaware that the threat of Morro and the ghosts were drawing nearer to Ninjago city. Preparing to curse its citizens within the grasp of The Preeminent, and all who stood under her banner.
