To all readers-I'm reposting this again because I'm ready. I want everyone (especially one reader in particular) to that I don't like being rushed when I'm writing. I like to write at my own pace and have each chapter up to my standards. If you dont like the way I write any of my fanfiction, then you dont have to read it. Its strictly your choice whether or not you read any of my fanfiction at all.

I DONT OWN DIGIMON: DIGITAL MONSTERS! I ONLY OWN THE OC AND THE OC ALONE!

Shoutouts:

The digidestined were busy examining a generator of sorts they found in the desert that is attached to many wires spread across the land. "What is it, Izzy?" asked Tai. "Some kind of power generator?"

"Even better. Etemon has hardwired the entire desert, creating an extensive computer network." Izzy explains. "My guess, this is one of his remote data access terminals."

"Great! Let's crash it!" said Tai.

"It could be a booby trap." said Sora.

"If it is Etemon's, I say we cross the wires and mess it up good." said Matt.

"What are you going to do with that?" Tentomon asked Izzy as he removes a wire from the access terminal and plugs it into his computer.

"I wonder…it's entirely possible our computers have compatible systems. And if they do, then I can tap into Etemon's network." said Izzy.

"Hey, Izzy, it looks like you've got mail." said T.K.

"Huh? That was quick. Who even knows I've logged on?" Izzy wondered.

"Oh no, it's Etemon." said Joe.

"Open it. It might as well be spam." said Tai.

"Right….." said Izzy and opens the email.

"Help me! SOS! Mayday! I'm being held prisoner. Help me escape and I'll guide you to the crest you seek." said the message. Everyone gasped in shock at what they heard.

"That's a creepy voice I didn't want to hear." said Keiko.

"I'll say. It's more than creepy, it's disturbing." said Nyaromon.

"Do you think he's for real?" asked Sora. "I mean, who could it be?"

Meanwhile in Etemon's trailer, Etemon was having another temper tantrum. "What do you mean the system's down? I don't want to hear any excuses. I want those stinking kids located now!" Etemon yelled at the Gazimon.

"Yes, oh mighty Etemon, most majestic royal one." said one of the Gazimon.

"The problem is we've got a glitch at the pyramid's host computer." said the other Gazimon.

"(Growls) Datamon! Get me there in a hurry, you floppy ear little freaky! Let's roll!" ordered Etemon and Monochromon begins pulling the trailer across the desert.

Meanwhile the digidestined were walking through the canyon of the desert. "Oh, I don't like this. I don't like this one bit." said a panic Joe, feeling rather indecisive about the SOS email. "I don't like the look of it, I don't like the smell of it, I don't like the…"

"Don't have a brain cramp, Joe. You're turning green around the edges." Mimi interrupted him.

"Yeah, someone asked for our help. We've got to at least check it out, right?" asked Tai.

"That's right, and besides, he also said he knows where Sora's, Keiko's and T.K.'s are." said Matt.

"According to my laptop, we should be getting close." said Izzy, leading the way for the others by following the map on his laptop. Sora, Keiko and T.K. held out their tags in case they got close to one when suddenly T.K's and Keiko's tags started glowing yellow and crimson.

"Hey, look!" said T.K. and Keiko, gaining everyone's attention.

"It's glowing." said Matt.

"So there must be a couple of crests nearby." said Tai.

"Ah, T.K., Keiko, look what we found." Tokomon and Nyaromon called out to them and they turned to see a couple of medium sized rocks on top of each other, each with a different symbol.

"Look! Two more crests!" Sora exclaims and they all start running towards them with the two youngest holding out their tags. When they got closer to the rocks, both begins to shrink with one crest having the symbol of a sun with sun rays on it while the other had what seemed to be yin and yang.

"Awesome, my own crest!" exclaimed T.K. and Keiko.

"Congratulations." said Tokomon and Nyaromon.

"Now, T.K. don't think this means you get to stay up any later." said Matt, continuing to be a big brother.

"I'm so happy, Keiko." said Tai, hugging his sister.

"That means Sora's crest is the only one left. Maybe if we rescue this guy, he can lead us to it." said Izzy.

"Well, what are we waiting for? To the rescue!" shouted Tai, raising his arm in the air.

"Oh, what's that?" asked Mimi, standing in front of the cave of where the two crests use to be. Once they entered the cave, they noticed the walls were covered in familiar symbols.

"See those hieroglyphs? Look familiar?" asked Izzy, remembering the wall from the plant. "This is definitely the same writing we've come across before. Wait a second, this is a new one. Prodigious! This is amazing! Do you know what I'm thinking?"

"I've got a feeling you're going to tell us." Mimi tells him.

"Well, you see, it's possible that these hieroglyphs are not a form of writing at all but rather a code, a computer code. If you change a piece of the code, you change the program." explained Izzy. Suddenly a see-through screen appears on everyone's left. "Like that for example."

"Wait…back up." said Joe. "Are you telling us that this place is some kind of giant computer game and that none of this is really real?"

"Oh, its real alright. You know, I'm thinking that everything we see and everybody we meet in this world are pieces of data given physical form." Izzy said, stating his theory.

"Now wait a second. If you're right and this whole thing's one big computer, then how did we get here?" asked Matt. "Did we squeeze in through the floppy drive?"

"No, we're just kilo-bits of data too. I mean the versions of ourselves that are in here." said Izzy.

"If I'm just data, why do I feel like I'm flesh and blood?" asked Tai.

"And I still have to go to the little girl's room." said Mimi.

"You don't really; you just think you have to." Izzy tells her.

"Oh well, I hope you're right, cause…" said Mimi.

"Okay, then where's our real bodies?" asked Matt. "The flesh and blood bodies?"

"I don't know. I suppose we're back at the camp ground still. Yeah, we're alive back there. We exist simultaneously with our other selves. We're in a parallel digital universe like the digimon." said Izzy.

"Does that mean I don't have to worry about brushing my teeth anymore?" asked T.K.

"Or brushing my hair?" asked Keiko.

"We've got bigger things to worry about now, T.K. and Keiko." said Izzy.

"Although do us all a favor and don't stop brushing." said Matt.

"Yeah, please." said Izzy. "Hey, wait a second. I've got an idea. Let me see…if I can just crack this program."

"Uh oh, he's in computer dark mode. This could take a while." said Mimi as they watch Izzy get to work and before long, he gets absorbed into cracking the code. Izzy then turns to the see-through screen into the globe of the digital world.

"Cool." said Nyaromon.

"Really cool." said Keiko.

"I've called up this holographic map of the Digi-world. You can see how physically similar it is to the planet earth. In fact, you can see a lot of it parallels with our world." said Izzy.

"That's terrific, Izzy." Matt tells him. "Great time for a geography lesson."

"Pay attention and you might learn something." said Izzy, typing away.

"Yeah." said Matt.

"Now, if I enter the email address of the person who contacted us, I can find his location in the digital world here. Now look, that email address is from a web domain in our world. I've logged onto it a thousand times." Izzy explained.

"Is there a point to this somewhere?" Tai asked impatiently.

"Is the person who sent the message in our world or the Digi-world?" asked Sora.

"That's just the thing, he's in both worlds." said Izzy as he shows both the digital world and their world. "Look, the Digi-world on the left and the world we know is on the right, but if I overlay them like so…." Izzy then overlaps both globes.

"The white lines match up perfectly." said Sora. "What does that mean?"

"Reminds me of a ball of yarn my kitty use to play with." said Mimi.

"Miko does the same thing when Mom tries to knit." said Keiko.

"Really?" asked Nyaromon.

"Yeah, it's funny because sometimes, Miko gets tangled up in the string." Keiko tells her.

"And we have to untangle her." added Tai, giggling.

"That's the world's digital network. Through those lines every computer on earth is connected to every other computer. The digital world is a physical embodiment of the data passing through them." explained Izzy. "Guys, we're looking at something nobody has ever seen before or even knows about. The digital shadow world that exists alongside our own. And they're not just parallel, they're physically linked. So anything we do here will have effects on the other."

"For real?" asked Matt.

"Intense." said Joe.

"Yeah and here's the coolest part, wherever this person is in the Digi-world, I think I can take us there just by entering his email address and clicking on it like accessing a webpage." said Izzy.

"Hey, all this techno talk is making my head spiny." said T.K.

"Mine too." said Keiko.

"Computer guys can never just do stuff, you two." Matt explained to the two youngest. "That would be too easy. They've got to spend all day telling you how they do it."

"This is really depressing. Even when we're computer data, I have allergies." said Joe, squatting on the ground.

"Look on the bright side Joe, if you weren't here, you never would have met me." Gomamon tells him.

"Sora, does this mean we don't exist? That we're really not friends?" Biyomon asked.

"Of course not. This maybe a make-believe world, but that doesn't mean our friendship is real." Sora said to her digimon. "Truthfully, I don't get it but it sounds right."

"Oh well, wherever we are, we're here so let's figure out what we're doing next." said Tai. "Come on, Izzy, what are you waiting for?"

"Okay, okay, all I have to do is look on the guy's email address and then bingo." said Izzy.

"Oh, I hate bingo. It's so confusing with the letters and…." Mimi begins to say and suddenly a doorway opens. "Hey, look a door."

"Alright, last one through is a rotten egg." said Tai.

"Our electronic pen pal is right out there." said Izzy.

"Or it could be a trap." suggested Sora.

"No way, I uploaded us as an email attachment…" said Izzy until Sora stops him.

"Okay, I believe you." she tells him.

They walked through the doorway, finding themselves in the mouth of a Sphinx and to the right, is an upside-down pyramid. "Check this out." said Tai and pulls out his telescope to see Etemon's trailer pulling up to the pyramid. "Heads up! Etemon at nine o'clock."

Meanwhile, Etemon climbs out of his trailer and walks up to the pyramid's door. "That's it! It's the dumpster for you, Datamon, you old pile of junk." said an angry Etemon as he walks inside.

"Uh, I think I left the water running back at the Sphinx." said Joe. Later that night, Tai and Agumon were standing guard by the fire until Sora comes out.

"Okay Tai, you're relieved." said Sora.

"It's our turn to stand watch." said Biyomon.

"Finally. It's not much fun watching a bunch of rocks. Good night." said Agumon, yawning as he walks into the cave to get some sleep.

"I thought being in a cartoon computer adventure would be more fun than this." said Tai as he starts walking inside the cave.

"About tomorrow." said Sora.

"What?" Tai asked, confused.

"That Etemon is bad news. Is it really worth it just to find my crest?" she asked.

"Sure. Don't worry, Sora, piece of cake. I'm looking forward to spinning that ugly monkey around by his tail." said Tai, feeling confident but somehow Sora doesn't feel the same way. "Hey, come on snap out of it. Look, if it were my crest, or T.K.'s or anyone else's we were going after, you know you wouldn't hesitate for a second."

"Maybe you're right." said Sora. "It's just after what Izzy said."

"What? You mean that stuff about being nothing but kilo-bits in the great computer program of life?" asked Tai.

"It just makes us seem so small and insignificant. Like nothing we do really matters." Sora tells him.

"Of course it matters. We just can't take the chance that it doesn't." said Tai. The next morning, Izzy and Sora were talking to each other outside of the cave. "Remember there's one thing important to keep in mind. This is more than a parallel universe." said Izzy. "It's a shadow world physically linked to our own. Anything that happens here in Digi-world can have a direct effect on the other."

"Then the same thing goes for us, right? We're shadow versions of ourselves." said Sora, understanding what Izzy was telling her.

"Right, exact computer copies." said Izzy.

"So whatever happens, we have to be just as careful as if it were our physical selves." said Sora.

"Hey, sometime this year! Man, you guys talk more than my mom's book club. Can we go?" asked an impatient Tai.

"Alright." said Sora as they ran over to the others.

"Hey, I happen to like mom's book club!" Keiko shouted at her brother.

"You've always liked mom's book club." said Tai. Later, the digidestined are back at the mouth of the Sphinx.

"I got into the program and found the most direct route to the center of the pyramid." said Izzy.

"Okay, now let's get this straight, we're only going in there to find this guy and get Sora her crest, right?" asked Joe.

"Right, right." said Tai.

"That means no more fights or adventures or dangerous stuff." said Joe.

"Man, you whimper more than my puppy." said Tai. "Matt, Mimi, Keiko and T.K., you guys stay here and stand guard. We'll go in."

"If you think you don't need me." said Mimi.

"I miss you guys already." said Palmon, even though they haven't left yet.

"We'll be back in time to eat." said Gomamon.

"Or get eaten." said Tai and jumps out of the Sphinx's mouth.

"See you guys. Come back as soon as you can." said T.K. and Tokomon.

"Be safe out there." said Keiko and Nyaromon. Tai, Sora, Izzy, Joe and their digimon circled around to the back of the Sphinx so that they wouldn't be detected by one of the Gazimon guarding the area.

"Okay, keep together." said Tai as they ran towards a large sand bar behind the pyramid.

"There's a hidden back door to the program we can use to get in. It should be somewhere right up ahead." said Izzy. Once they had entered the pyramid, they couldn't find the door. "That's funny, it should be right here." he said.

"Where's my fried banana sandwich?" yelled Etemon, walking outside of the pyramid, yawning, unaware of Tai looking at him from around the corner. "You know I like to eat after my nap."

"Ah!" yelped Tai.

"Tai, what is it?" asked Joe.

"It's Etemon." Tai quietly says but Joe and Agumon made a loud gasp, causing Etemon to hear them.

"Huh? Who's there?" asked Etemon as he turns around and walks over to where the digidestined were hiding.

"What do we do now?" Biyomon asked Sora.

"Quiet Biyomon." said Sora. As Etemon reaches the corner, he pauses for a minute.

"Boo!" he shouted as he pops around the corner but sees no one there. "Great, now I'm hearing things."

"Yoo-hoo!" said Tai, sticking his hand outside the pyramid and quickly pulls it back in before Etemon sees him.

"You know, I'm going to have to get this place completely exterminated…..because…..something is starting to bug me!" shouted Etemon, annoyed and walks away. As he walks away, Etemon doesn't see Tai step back into the pyramid before he goes back to the others. "We've got him talking to himself." said Tai, chuckling.

"Really funny, Tai." said Sora, annoyed with his childish antics. "Are you crazy? What if you've gotten us caught?"

"But we weren't, were we?" Tai asked Sora.

"Well, now that we're in, what do we do?" asked Joe.

"I guess next we try to find a way through these walls, the trick is finding a weak spot." said Izzy.

"Hey, I found one." said Agumon and slams his claw against one of the walls, but ended up hurting himself instead.

"As I was saying, Agumon, the trick is finding the weak points. Let's use heads, not hands." Izzy tells him and they started walking through the pyramid.

"You know, Keiko would be good at this." suggested Sora.

"Oh yeah." said Tai.

"Why would Keiko be good at this?" asked Izzy.

"You see, Keiko has this thing where she likes to feel certain things like the chain of a fence or the scratchy green patch on the back of a sponge." Sora explained.

"She's been that way since she was little." added Tai.

"Is she….you know….?" Joe started to ask.

"Nope, she's been checked for that. My parents thought she was, but she's not." Tai tells him. "She just has a thing for sensory that helps her be happy from time to time." After a while of walking, Sora notices something strange about one of the walls.

"Hey, check it out. You can see right through this wall." said Sora.

"Yeah, here it is." said Izzy. "It's another breach in the security system."

"Look, Gazimon!" said Agumon, seeing two Gazimon on the other side of the wall.

"Be still." said Sora. Once they walked by, Tai runs out and kicks one of the Gazimon in the back before running back through the wall. "Hey! What's the big idea?" asked the Gazimon that Tai kicked, thinking that it was him.

"What do you mean?" asked the other Gazimon.

"Don't give me that! Just because the boss likes me…." said the Gazimon who was kicked.

"Have you gone nuts?" asked the other Gazimon.

"Nuts to you." said the Gazimon who was kicked and punches the other Gazimon, causing a fight to break out between the two of them. Meanwhile on the other side of the wall, Tai is snickering at what he had done, while Sora isn't amused at all. They then continued to walk through the pyramid.

"You could've gotten us all captured back there, Tai!" yelled Sora. "You're so immature!"

"Could you yell a little quieter, huh?" asked Joe.

"Geez Sora, relax. Get a grip." said Tai. "Who elected you queen of the fun police?"

"Yeah, this is tons of fun and getting caught is a blast!" she shouted at him.

"Couldn't you just pass notes? It's much quieter." Joe tells them. They then come across a wall like fence with electricity going through it.

"This looks nasty. We don't have to go through here, do we?" asked Tentomon.

"This firewall is the systems last line of defense, but there appears to be only one safe way through it." said Izzy.

"And if we pick the wrong way, they'll scope us up with a spatula." said Joe.

"You're not scared are ya, Joe?" asked Gomamon, mockingly.

"Maybe I am a little." he replied.

"Relax, it's not like we're human or anything." said Tai, reminding them. "We're just bunches of kilobits, remember?"

"The weak point should be….here." said Izzy, pointing to the weak point of the wall.

"Cool." said Tai and walks through the wall, stunning everyone before sticking his head back over. "Are you coming in or are you just going to stand there all day?"

"Hmm." said Sora as she and the others followed him.

Once they entered through the firewall, they appeared in a completely metal room. "This is the host computer." said Izzy.

"Yowza! Do you think it comes with a CD drive or is that optional?" asked Tai, looking around and sees a robot like digimon in inside a two-glass pyramid.

"And what do you suppose that thing is?" asked Sora.

"I've heard of him. His name's Datamon. A super intelligent robotic Digimon. He disappeared without a trace some time ago….nobody ever knew what happened to him." said Tentomon.

"Maybe that's the thing that sent us the email. Kind of looks like he's a prisoner." said Sora.

"Of course it was! Who else?" asked Datamon, appearing on Izzy's laptop screen. "Today is your lucky day as well as mine."

"I get it. He's communicating through the inferred port on my laptop." said Izzy.

"Oh, a hardwire man. Well, listen we don't have much time. Long, long ago I fought Etemon and lost, one of my rare miscalculations. Anyway I was severally damaged and he imprisoned me here and forced me to be his webmaster, administering his network. Without Etemon knowing, however, I slowly began to repair myself." said Datamon. "Restoring my capabilities bit by bit over the years. Eventually, I gained control over Etemon's network not total control but enough to bring some misery to that blubbering baboon. At long last I'm ready to free myself but I need you to break the cyber-lock."

"What about my crest?" asked Sora. "You said in your message you could lead us to it."

"Um yes, whatever you want. Just please let me out of here." begged Datamon.

"Can we trust this talking can opener?" asked Joe, not sure if Datamon was actually trustable.

"Etemon is your enemy as well as mine, that makes us allies. Please, you're my only hope." Datamon tells them.

"Okay you're on. What do you need from us?" asked Tai.

"I'm transmitting instructions on how to disengaging the cyber-lock." said Datamon. Izzy walks over to a screen.

"Hey, push that lever for me would you, Tai?" Izzy asked.

"Got it." Tai replies and pulls down the lever, causing the screen to raise up to reveal a dial and a red button.

"Right three, left five." Izzy said to himself.

"Quickly! Quickly! Before Etemon returns!" shouted Datamon.

"Then push the button. Okay, Tai, move the lever back into it original position, that should be the last step in the process." said Izzy. Just as Tai was about to lift the lever, they hear a voice behind them.

"Hold it!" said Etemon, standing in the door way.

"Etemon!" shouted Tai.

"I've been watching you on surveillance and you're an annoying little brat, you know that?" Etemon asked as the two Gazimon from earlier appeared beside him.

"Punk kid. Trouble maker." said both Gazimon.

"Hey, it's been my pleasure." said Tai.

"Great, why don't you just call him ugly too." said Joe.

"All this time, I thought it was these snot nose kids causing my network to crash, but it was you, wasn't it you digital dumpster." said Etemon.

"Well, in a word; yes." said Datamon.

"You rat!" shouted Etemon and charges at the digidestined.

"Digimon, help out!" shouted Agumon and they all start to digivolve.

"Agumon digivolve to…Greymon!" shouted Greymon.

"Tentomon digivolve to…Kabuterimon!" yelled Kabuterimon.

"Biyomon digivolve to…Birdramon!" cried Birdramon.

"Gomamon digivolve to…Ikkakumon!" screamed Ikkakumon.

"Out of the way!" shouted Etemon, punching Greymon in the stomach and grabs Ikkakumon by the horn, throwing him at Kabuterimon. Meanwhile, Tai pushes the lever up, freeing Datamon.

"I'm free! Now let's see how you like it!" shouted Datamon, sending his glass prison directly at Etemon, Birdramon and the Gazimon.

"No! Birdramon!" Sora cried out, watching Birdramon de-digivolve back into Biyomon.

"Hey, we set you free!" Tai shouted in anger.

"And I do appreciate that, you chumps." said Datamon.

"Dumb kids! You think by now they've learned to trust no one." said Etemon.

"Trust me, this will hurt." shouted Datamon, shooting computer viruses from his fingertips.

"Dark Network!" bellowed Etemon, creating a green sphere and throws it at the viruses, causing a huge explosion that blasted through the ceiling and erupts from the ground.

Meanwhile, Gabumon is watching the pyramid and sees an explosion come up from the ground. "Uh oh! Matt!" shouted Gabumon.

"Well, so much for not fighting." said Matt.

"Tai." Felicity said quietly. Inside the pyramid, Sora was busy checking on her digimon.

"Biyomon!" Sora said to her unconscious digimon before seeing Datamon hitting the wall and landing in front of them.

"Tough luck, looks like I win again." said Etemon, gloating.

"It's not over yet, monkey breath." said Datamon, grabbing Sora and Biyomon. "Just wait, with their powers harnessed to my own, I'll be more than a match for you! Ha!"

Just as he said that, Datamon takes off with Sora and Biyomon. "Come back here you bratty little…." said Etemon but was blocked by Greymon, Kabuterimon and Ikkakumon in his path while Tai, Izzy and Joe go after Datamon to rescue Sora when they came across the firewall again.

"SORA!" shouted Tai.

"TAI!" shouted Sora from the other side of the firewall.

"They've gone back out through the firewall." stated Izzy.

"Okay, the weakest point was here, right?" asked Tai and heads towards the firewall.

"Wait a minute, let me get back online so I can find it." said Izzy.

"We don't have time for that, Izzy. What could happen? This isn't the real mem right?" Tai tells him.

"Don't test theories, Tai!" shouted Izzy.

"Pain still hurts, Tai!" yelled Joe and grabs Tai before he goes through the firewall. Tai struggles against Joe's grip.

"What were you thinking, Tai? We're in a video game, nothing can happen to us because these aren't our real selves here?" asked Izzy.

"Yeah, something like that." said Tai.

"Well, think again." said Izzy. "Our digital selves are directly linked to our other selves back home. You need to be a lot more careful. No telling what may happen."

"You mean, if I…" Tai started to say.

"If something happens here…" said Izzy.

"…it happens there? I can't move." said Tai, paralyzed.

"The weak point is one meter to your right." said Izzy.

"No way. One false move and it's over." said Tai, completely scared stiff.

"Hey, Tai." said Joe, staring at him.

"It's safe, Tai. We came through it alright on the way in." said Izzy.

"Yeah, but then I didn't know that…" said Tai, hesitating to go through.

"Go on, it's okay." said Izzy.

"Come on, Tai, we're wasting time. Sora needs us." said Joe. "What's wrong with you?"

"Tai?" asked Izzy, but then something blasts through the wall behind them. The three turned around to find their digimon, back in their rookie forms.

"Tai…we held him…as long as we could." said Agumon.

"Now to finish off you kids and put an end to your annoying interference." said Etemon, but stops when the ceiling starts breaking. Togemon and Garurumon appeared with Matt and Mimi on his back.

"Would you care for some Needle Spray!" shouted Togemon, launching her needles at him.

"Howling Blaster!" shouted Garurumon, firing his icy blast at him as well.

"Come on, let's move! Tai, what's wrong with you? Come on!" said Matt and grabs Tai as they escape.

"No! Not again! They didn't get away again! I'm having an extremely bad day, baby!" said Etemon as he sees that he's all alone.

Meanwhile, Tai, Izzy and Joe tell the others what happened to Sora and Biyomon. "I don't get it. When the creep grabbed Sora and Biyomon, why didn't you go through the firewall after them?" Matt asked angrily.

"I couldn't…I couldn't move." said Tai, crying at his weakness. Felicity walks up to her brother and hugs him.

"It's not your fault. We're all in this together, Tai." Joe tells him. "We'll find a way to get them back."

"He's right, Tai." said Keiko.

"It's all my fault! Sora! It's all my fault!" cried Tai.
