The group wakes up, eats a meager breakfast, and leaves the room.

They're heading towards Cambridge.

On the way, they encountered some ghouls, but Edward slashed them with his sword.

When they got to Cambridge, it looked like a battlefield, there was a makeshift barricade between the buildings that had been destroyed, the circle was full of bodies of both men and ghouls, a few ghouls were wandering around, every now and then one stepped on an anti-personnel mine.

- We're going around... Edward ordered... I won't risk stepping on a mine.

As they walked they heard gunshots, passed a pharmacy and came out into a small square of green...they could only stand in shock at the sight in front of the them.

The ghoul, thirteen feet tall, was walking on a group of people who were shooting desperately at him. Ignoring bullet, the ghoul reached out and grabbed the man and picked him up, put him in his mouth and bit off almost the entire top half.

- We're running! Edward shouted as he ran up the street, in the opposite direction of the ghoul.

They ran past the basketball court and the bus stop, into the meadow next to the factory, and kept running.

They ran until they reached the police station, ran inside and barricaded the door.

- What the hell was that? Preston asked, panting heavily.

- How should I know?... Edward replied, he seemed to be in better shape than Preston, just breathing a little louder... Something new, like that screamer outside the museum.

They heard a rustle in the next room, aimed the door, and after a while it opened, two women were standing there, one holding a double barrel shotgun, wearing a brown leather corset, the other holding a ten-millimeter pistol, wearing a red leather coat and matching beret.

- Piper? Preston asked

- Preston? The one in the beret answered, running up and hugging him.

The red-haired woman lowered the shotgun.

- You know them?

- Those by sight... Piper said, pointing to Edward Curie and shaun... And this is Preston, my almost-boyfriend.

- Almost? Preston asked

- One date doesn't make a couple... Piper replied... This is Cait.

Hi. The redhead replied.

After everyone said hello, they started talking.

- We walked from the sanctuary to the stadium. Edward replied.

Cait and Piper looked at each other.

- Don't you know? Piper asked.

- About what? Preston asked.

- The stadium fall... Cait said... When the generators failed, the gate opened and a horde of these monsters rushed inside. We still don't know how we managed to escape.

- And the castle?... Edward asked... There were military men there.

- All we know is that something exploded there... Piper answered... Smoke could be seen even from the stadium square.

- And what now? Curie asked.

- We're staying here for the night... Edward said... We'll figure something out in the morning. Is there a weapon here? he asked.

- We didn't check... Piper said... We got in here two minutes before you did.

They searched the entire precinct and found some stuff. Two automatic 10mm pistols, one hunting rifle, four telescopic batons, some ammo and food and water.

- I'll stand guard. Edward said, taking the hunting rifle and going to the roof.

Edward was sitting on the roof with his legs dangling, in his hands he was holding a photo , taken from home, it was of Nora and Shaun in nuka-world. He remembered how Nora's breath smelled like nuca-cola, how Shaun had almost fainted at one of the attractions, or how robots fought in the galactic zone.

He ran his fingers over his three scars on his face, three long scars going diagonally, he still remembers that mad Chinaman with the sword.

Someone sat down next to him, he knew it wasn't a Ghoul, they couldn't sneak.

- You miss her right? Curie asked.

- Yes... He replied. Tears ran down his cheeks... But I have to be strong for Shaun.

Curie put her hand on his shoulder and he looked at her.

- Remember I'm here. No matter what.

Edward leans towards her and hugs her, she almost disappeared under his big body, but no wonder, he towered over everyone by a good head. Nora always said he didn't need power armor to terrify his enemies.

It's just a pity that his imposing stature didn't work on the Ghouls, it seemed like them was going to head forward no matter what, damn, Edward shot off leg and ghoul kept crawling anyway, not caring that he was bleeding out.

They sat for a while until Curie stood up.

- Go to sleep... She said... I'll watch her now.

Edward stood up and nodded to her, hesitated as if considering, then leaned in and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek.

- Thanks for everything Curie, I needed this... He said as he turned and headed for the door... Good night.

- Good night. Curie said blushing.
