A/n: See, I would have given everyone their own chapter to start with, but each of these guy's are really short so thought you might want a longer chapter (even if it's not much longer but would you really rather two 3-400 word chapters?)

Pidge

She'd found her dad first.

She couldn't help but feel a little guilty as she headed to the room where her dad usually was with Slav, because she could choose anyone from her family to comfort her when the others' families were back on Earth, out of reach when they were needed most. Even the fact that she still had her whole family made it a little worse, eyes feeling hot as she remembered who they'd just lost.

The tears only spilt when she finally found her dad though, hugging him as she completely broke down, sobs wracking her small frame. She was only just able to tell him what had happened, much to his panic at seeing her cry out of seemingly nowhere, but once he understood, he just wrapped an arm around her. She stayed latched onto him, not letting go until he finally had to call her mom or brother just so he could get work done.

Matt had come quickly, wrapping his arms around her without even knowing what had happened until her dad had quickly whispered in his ear as if hearing it would make her cry more. Her brother for his part had just nodded, eyes sad as he picked her up like he had when she was a small child.

She didn't even have the energy to feel humiliated. She was too sad to, instead just latching onto him like she had to their dad. As Matt carried her to her room, Keith had contacted him, about some mission or another from what she could tell. He'd glanced at her before giving his answer, something Pidge was too sad to listen to.

All she could think about was how Keith was already arranging and going on missions so soon after the last one had ended in losing one of their own.

Once Matt dropped her onto her bed, he'd called their mom who came running to her room, immediately taking over from Matt who quickly told her what had happened. They shared a sad look before he gave one last hug to Pidge and left to go wherever Keith had told him to. Colleen had stayed and comforted her for the next long while, the only one of their family who really knew what to do with a crying Katie.

As for Katie herself, she hadn't even been as close to Allura as some of the others yet the loss still hit her hard. They'd been the only two girls on the team for a long time, automatically bonding over that to the point Katie had considered the Altean a sister.

Even so, they'd had very little interactions just between the two of them Pidge realised with a sinking feeling. They could have been such good friends, so much closer than this.

But… now thinking about it… she knew very little actually about the Altean princess. Knowing that made her even sadder, because there was no learning more. And that hurt more than anything.

Eventually the crying subsided, and so did the revelations about the princess and their relationship that never failed to elicit more tears. Pidge was left exhausted and it wasn't long before she'd fallen asleep right there and then, in her mother's arms, dreaming of what could have been.

Hunk

Hunk was ashamed to say he hadn't known the princess as well as he'd wanted to.

It was now one of his biggest regrets, but while he may not have known her as well as he wanted to, that's not to say he didn't know her at all. They'd bonded over food on more than one occasion, with him trying to make Altean delicacies on the castle, learning from Coran and sometimes Allura herself.

Those were the memories he'd treasure most, he already knows. The late nights when they both couldn't sleep, her being homesick so he tried to make some Altean food to help her. The experiments with Altean and Earth foods. The scarce few memories that he had exclusively with her, the scarce few that weren't mission related.

Losing her had hit them all hard, him included, but he was trying to stay positive. He missed her, obviously he did, but he had to stay strong for the team. He was always the one to do that, to offer comfort. Especially now, when the team was so…

Lance had all but broken down, and it was understandable. The same went for Coran, who had just looked so utterly lost when Hunk had helped him to his room. Pidge had also seemed sad but she had her family to comfort her so she'd be okay.

Keith would brave it out, even if he was grieving - which Hunk knew he was, he wasn't as heartless as he seemed - then he'd be vulnerable in his own time, when he was alone. And Shiro? Shiro was Shiro, sad but would keep the team on track, him and Keith already working on other things like the new Altea, and as they'd discovered, Daibazaal too.

He kept checking up on Coran, leading the mice to Lance too when he finally saw them, just so Lance wouldn't be alone. He bribed them with the promise of food to look after the paladin, though it wasn't needed. He knew they'd do it anyway.

Speaking of food… that was what everyone needed. Comfort food always helped in any case, so he got to work.

People dealt with grief in different ways, one of them being food. Either they'd eat a lot, or not at all, but they all needed to eat anyway. So Hunk would cook whatever it took. Taking care of the team in the small ways he could, like making sure they ate, and slept, but that was later. Eating was priority for now.

Romelle found him in the kitchen a little later and joined him, surprising him with the fact that she'd stayed behind instead of going on the expedition to Altea. When he asked about it, she'd not really given him an answer so he respected it and let it be, letting her come and help.

Together, they cooked up a storm, and once it was ready, they went to get everyone for dinner.

A/n: It's easy to forget sometimes that Pidge is the youngest of all of them, so I think (apart from Matt and her dad) Allura would probably be the first person she'd lost so it kind of hit her… I don't wanna say hard because it hit all of them hard, but let's just say she's new to these kinds of feelings. Even after Kerberos, she still believed her brother and dad were alive so it was a little different from this. As for Hunk, obviously he deals with anything and everything by cooking so the kitchen is pretty much the first place he goes.

Moving forward, time will pass a little faster in the next few chapters, (I think, I don't a tually remember what happens next until I get ready to post lol) and it's gonna start getting really good, I promise.

Stay safe and see ya soon.
