Chapter Four: The Misadventures of The Old Tiger
Libra Dohko's Point of View
By: Lady Mochizuki

Authors Note: Mila grew up thinking her name was Asano Kana, as it were her mother; Kamala's wish was to hide Mila from her father, Gemini Saga.

I felt both Vittoria's and Kamala's cosmos slowly slip away, and a few moments later, twin shooting stars streaked across the sky as I heard ten-month-old Mila start to fuss, so I headed in only to find Zoom cuddled close to Mila. I only smiled at the sight. I wonder if Lee-Lee is an empath as well.

Sighs.

I feel bad for Shion, Vittoria, and Kamala, who never witnessed Mila's firsts. I swear if I knew what I was getting myself into when I agreed to take Mila in. I'd probably think about it, but then again, I would not have changed the last ten months for the world.

Hm.

My little spitfire is the reincarnation of Belladonna, and I swear there were times I wanted to strangle Mila for some of the things she'd pulled. Yes, she's a Scorpio, all right. Athena, help me; how many times have I wanted to strangle this one for trying my patience?

Oh well.

My misadventures, as I call them, started when Mila had turned two months old. I noticed she was able to move things with her mind. At first, it wasn't very noticeable until she started moving larger objects like yours genuinely or Zoom or her playpen so she could listen to the waterfall's roar. I swear she babbled at the Great Lushan Waterfall, but later I discovered Mila was conversing with the Dragon Armour.

I woke up later than usual one morning because Mila is a night owl. And I discovered Mila and Zoom were gone. I search everywhere in a panic looking for my little spitfire. Oh Kamala, forgive me if Gemini Saga had come and taken Mila or, worse, killed her. Later that day, I felt an unfamiliar cosmos surround the area, and then suddenly, Aries Mū and Virgo Shaka stood. Mū was holding Mila while Zoom rode on Shaka's shoulder. I sighed in relief, of course.

Mū told me that Mila had teleported herself and Zoom to Jamil, where he and Shaka were having tea. Aries Mū had told Shaka the little one was my great-granddaughter, Asano Kana, so now you know how Mila got her pseudonym. I smiled at Shaka and thanked him for bringing my Kana home. Shaka only nodded as he slowly detached Zoom from his shoulder and teleported back to India. Shaka didn't believe Mu, but he just let it go.

Mu sighed, knowing later he would have to tell Shaka the truth, but making sure Mila stays safe is his priority in his mind, I assuming, of course. Mu is a doting uncle and quite protective of Mila.

Mu told me he had gauged Mila's psychic powers, and I could tell Mu was a little jealous as he spoke because, at this point, Mila's ability matched his now, but it may grow more substantial like her grandfather, Shion. Mila was only three months old.

I swear, as young as Mila was, I had to be on my toes with her around. So Mu came up with an amulet to suppress her psychic powers, but I shook my head no and said,

"As her guardian, we should teach her how to control her powers instead of suppressing them. Furthermore, Kamala would kill us if we thought of suppressing those powers that could save humanity one day."

Mu laughed as Mila yanked his hair to get his attention, and she started babbling at him. Mu stayed for a while and played with his niece. A week before Mila turned four months, Mu saw her sitting in her playpen, babbling with The Dragon Armour and The Aries Armour. Mu looked over at me and said,

"I believe Mila has inherited Briana's power to talk with domestic and wild animals."

I just nodded in acknowledgment. Mu left shortly afterward with a promise to Mila to visit again.

I watched my little one start crawling when she was four months old. Mila scooted across the floor like her great-grandmother did. I watched proudly as Mila would race with Zoom, and Zoom would win, of course, but Zoom would always hold up Mila's arm in victory with his tail, which made her smile.

One day, a week before the young ones turned six months old, Mila took her first steps, and there went the neighborhood, so to speak, because all day long it was Mila, come away from there or Lee-Lee, leave that.

Oh, Athena, please help me with this spitfire because she is the reincarnate of Belladonna.

Mila had just turned nine months old; Mila pointed at me and blurted out, "Papa." I did try to correct her, but she stubbornly shook her head and repeated herself. Mū, who came to visit us, told me,

"In Mila's eyes, you're their grandfather, and there's no getting around it."

I sighed in defeat.

"I don't think Master Shion would mind at all either," Mū added, smiling.

I sighed heavily, gave in, and encouragingly smiled at Mila; then she walked over to Mū, pointed at him, and said, "Unko!" Mū smiled widely at Mila, and he hugged tight, and he told her,

"My niece is a genius." Mila smiled widely.

Soon other words followed, and I had to watch what I said in front of Mila. I'm laughing out loud.

As Mila grew older, more and more, her personality came out; Mila seemed to enjoy challenging my patience and seeing how far she could push me.

I would look out the window to check on my spitfire when I discovered Mila had entered the Bamboo Forest. I would go tearing after her to find the Little Spitfire wrestling with tiger cubs under the watchful eye of the cub's mother, or she is stalking me with the cubs, or I find Lee-Lee talking with a wise old King Cobra or riding on the back of a water buffalo. And Mila was only three-years-old.

At age four, Mila would mimic my movements as I flexed my cosmos. I would correct Mila's movements. So, I took it upon myself to teach her, much to Mu's displeasure. Of course, I was hoping it would keep Mila out of trouble.

Sighs.

Of course, that was asking a bit too much from Lee-Lee. Mila sneaky little creature, had climbed to the top of the Great Lushan Waterfall and jumped off. I felt my heart go up in my throat as I heard one splash and saw Mila's head pop up and swim to where I was. The little one climbed out without any broken bones. I thanked Athena for keeping Mila safe and walked away from the child seething with anger.

An hour later, out of the corner of my left eye, I saw Mila's head pop up around the corner, watching as I saw Mila bravely walk in as she hugged me around my neck. I felt my anger disappear as I kissed her forehead. Damn, brat reminds me so much of Belladonna.

Mila found abandoned a baby peregrine falcon and baby ferrets; I didn't say no when Mila brought them home. I figured taking care of these animals would teach Mila responsibility and accountability, and thus that's how Draken, the peregrine falcon, Bandit, and Koda joined our little family. I believe Mila was six-years-old.

I must say, though, it did calm Mila down a bit.

Of course, those looking in didn't know anything but just thought I was raising my great-granddaughter Kana, who lost her mother and was abandoned by her father. I didn't bother to correct them.

On Mila's seventh birthday, I had her split The Great Lushan Waterfall, and it took her six months to figure it out as she finally split the waterfall in half. I cheered Mila's accomplishment.

Around this time, Saint Scout saw that Mila had great potential to become a Saint of Athena. The Saint Scout also agreed to let Draken, Bandit, Koda, and Hunter (who was six months at the time) come along.

And three months before Mila's eighth birthday, she was off to Sanctuary, Mu and I prayed to Athena and the Heavenly Father to keep her safe.
