Michinaga turned his head as Tycoon grabbed one of the wooden chairs at the corner and sat on it while staring at the starry sky.
"Aah... I thought I'd be able to escape somewhere where I could be alone for a bit. But even here I ended up having some company..."
Michinaga frowned at the guy.
"If you really want to leave this place, then just do it! I won't stop you."
Tycoon let out another sigh.
"Do I even have a choice to leave?"
Michinaga opened his mouth to speak but then he cancelled the thought. After all, he saw it earlier... how the man had this pained look on his face when he was looking at Geats. That didn't look like someone who had completely cut himself out from the people he used to be very close with. It looked more like someone who still cared about the other, he could clearly see that Tycoon still cared about Geats a lot. Suppose the two did somehow have a heart-to-heart talk before. Though the way they resolved, it seemed a bit too dramatic. He shrugged.
"If I know that Geats could put some sense in you so easily like this, I shouldn't have bothered trying to convince you the other day."
Tycoon turned his attention towards him before raising his brow at Michinaga.
"You call this easy? This... is not easy," Tycoon rolled his eyes at him. "But you're right. What's the point of you coming to annoy me the other day? You're better off not wasting your time and making me even more frustrated."
For some reason, he didn't like the tone Tycoon was using. Michinaga snapped at him.
"What do you think? I was trying to get you back from those DGP people! Because you don't really belong with those bad guys and I wanted to set you straight."
Right away Tycoon let out a loud snort at him.
"Huh? Pretty funny way of you trying to convince me to come back to you guys by guilt-tripping me over things that I had no control over!" Tycoon scowled at him. "Did you really believe doing that could convince me to 'mend my ways'?"
"What do you mean that I was guilt-tripping you over things that you had no control of? You—!"
"You think that I wanted things to go this badly? I just wished for the people who died unfairly because of the DesiGra to be given a second chance to live! I wanted my family to come back to me, for Taira-san to return to his family alive... and for many other people who had been killed because of the DesiGra to return home alive!" Tycoon gritted his teeth. "How should I know that Beroba or Jitt would have enough time to give out some extra drivers to some shady ex-players?"
Michinaga glared back at the man. "It's not that what I've said to you was anything wrong! Your stupid wish was what had screwed up this world! I didn't say anything wrong!"
Tycoon stood up, before chuckling mirthlessly.
"You're talking as if you yourself had done nothing awfully bad before. Who was it before who had caused the Jyamato Grand Prix to start off out of the blue? Who was it that allowed so many innocent people to be sacrificed so needlessly just so they could become the new Jameity and gain a stupid power to 'destroy all Kamen Rider'?" Tycoon took in a very long breath, before continuing to speak. "Who was it that had killed me the first time before—which then led to my sister being roped into this stupid world-changing game just so that I could be revived again? Who was it in the end had indirectly caused my sister to end up unable to protect herself and be manipulated and killed, just to break me thoroughly and led me to this path of destruction?"
Tycoon glanced back at him.
"Don't just run your mouth off and pretend that you're now a saint who has never done any mistake before." Tycoon sighed. "Aah... and I thought I could clear my head by going up here. But I end up getting more frustrated now because I had to see you."
The man just shook his head before turning back to leave.
Michinaga bit his lips. Yeah... he deserved being scolded badly like this. Tycoon was right, he was no saint either. And because of his bull-headedness in the past, there were a lot of things he had done that he could no longer take back and mend the mistake.
"You're right... I've had my own share of screwups too," Michinaga started saying as Tycoon paused in his steps.
He glanced back up towards the man's back. "I realised how much I've done wrong in the past. I know I couldn't fully make up for what I did wrong in the past and especially to you and your sister. I know that saying sorry to you wouldn't have changed anything." He smiled weakly. "Because I've gone through the same thing, I know how hard it would be for you to try to escape your situation. Because you had those three keeping you trapped there. You needed help to save yourself, you needed someone to lead you back to the right path. Which was why I wanted to get you back."
Michinaga shrugged.
"You're a good guy, Tycoon. I didn't want you to make the same mistake I did out of blind rage and sorrow. Didn't you say it to me before? Sometimes you need to rely on others for help. Because we humans can't live by ourselves only."
Tycoon turned around to face him again before sighing, looking more tired and worn out rather than angry at him.
"There ya go," said Tycoon finally. "It would've been better if you had started your approach with that. Rather than acting like a pretentious prick who acted like he had done nothing wrong and suddenly thought about wanting to be heroic out of nowhere. You probably would've been able to reach out to me had you not tried too hard to act like Ace."
Tycoon started to leave again as Michinaga let out a surprised gasp after registering what the man had just said to him. The man stopped again just as he reached the entrance to the staircase.
"Don't be too happy yet. You still need to show me that you could bring back the sister you've cruelly taken away from me. For now, we'll be allies. But beyond that—!"
Tycoon let those words hang before going back down and leaving him by himself again.
Michinaga sighed. Well, he deserved that.
