"I am authorised to remove the name of any one who helped Gabriel from the Book of Life. You will have never existed Aziraphale." Michael threatens.

God walks in, raising an eyebrow at what She just heard. Is Michael seriously threatening Her favourite Angel right now? Yes, She has favourites. Every parent does, they're just never supposed to admit it. She's God though, so She doesn't care.

"In Gabriel's absence, I am the Supreme Archangel..." Michael continues, failing to notice God with them right now.

Unsurprising really, She did make herself this form when She needed to blend in, Her godly powers undetectable to anyone and everyone, unless She makes herself known that is.

"Duty Officer." Uriel reminds, also ignoring God.

"Excuse me," God calls out at last, all of them finally noticing Her but not realising who in the universe she is. "But I must interrupt you there." She smiles at the coffee in her hand. "And I've brought a coffee."

"I don't believe I asked for any interruptions." Michael dismisses rudely.

"Yes, but I didn't ask for your opinion Michael so shut the fuck up for once and stop interfering in something that doesn't concern you." She counters.

Everyone is shocked by Her words but no more than Michael who's offended and getting angry now with Her, opening her mouth to talk back only to find her voice won't come out. She keeps trying and trying but is getting scared when she simply can't talk. God sighs and gives Michael her voice back.

"Finished or do I have to put you in quiet time again?" She asks and Michael is a little fearful now.

"Who are you?" Michael asks at last.

"Now, as for you two," God turns to Aziraphale and Crowley, ignoring Michael purposely. A book appears out of thin air in Her hands and they all are fearful at the very sight of it.

The Book of Life.

She casually waves a hand and it flips rapidly past page after page until comes to a stop. "Ah, here we are, Aziraphale." She taps a finger over his name in the book. "Notice anything about it? Anyone?"

She turns it to show them all but none has the answer so She acts confused for a minute and then puts on a show of realisation. "Oh right, I made it unnoticeable to all. Didn't want anyone to know I do have favourites. The others would get jealous."

Aziraphale's name starts glowing with the Light of God and they all gasp.

"That's not possible. Only God's name is protected in the Book of Life." Michael denies.

"Oh it's very possible, Michael." God corrects.

"How did you even get that? It's in the most secure sector of Heaven, surrounded and protected by the most powerful defenses Heaven has to offer, created by God Herlself so no one could ever steal it." Michael interrogates.

"You know one thing I didn't get about you lot is why no one ever asked questions." God sighs, the Book disappearing from Her hands. "And those who did were kicked out of Heaven. I mean, seriously? Who even decided that?"

Michael huffs, "The Metatron gave explicit orders that..."

"Is the Metatron in charge of the universe?" God challenges.

"Well, not technically no, but he said..." Michael begins.

"He said, She said," God cuts off, annoyed even more with Michael now. "You know, I made a vow to give you all different personalities and not to interfere with that, but I'll be lying if I didn't say it wasn't Almighty tempting to alter yours right now."

"You can't do that." Michael refuses.

"Can't I?" God questions.

Michael goes quiet for once, unsure now.

God sighs at Michael's antics and looks to Crowley, smiling at him. "You're also protected in the Book too by the way. Don't worry."

"Why are we protected?" Crowley asks, his mind already shaken as he half of it has a feeling of who they're talking to right now but the other is in denial.

"Because you and Aziraphale are my favourite creations." God admits. "Hearing Michael overstepping her place again and threatening you two of you was honestly the last straw. I decided to screw my own rule of not interfering with the middle bits for once."

"Wait a minute..." Uriel begins, catching on now. "Are you...God?"

God smiles at Uriel. "Oh look, one of you finally got it."

Her whole body glows with Heavenly Light then, just cementing Her identity to them all. The Angels gasp and get on their knees, or at least they start to.

"No, no, stop that." God scolds and they return to standing. "I made this form to avoid all that. Brings far less attention." She then looks up and smiles fondly. "Oh, Gabriel and Beelzebub are settling in nicely in Alpha Centauri. How sweet." She looks back at the Angels. "And they are not exiled for falling in love. Love is one of my favourite creations and anyone who denies it will be in serious trouble. Now, spit spot, back to heaven with you three. I'll be there to talk with you in a moment." She orders and sees Muriel putting the book she was holding away. "Ah, not you." God points to Muriel.

"Um, your Reverence, your Almighty," Uriel stutters, bowing. "Your-your Grace."

"Spit it out, Uriel." God orders.

"Have we done anything wrong?" Uriel asks worriedly.

"I do know," God begins. "But do you?" Uriel is unsure if to answer or not. "You are not going to be punished for asking questions, you know. That is something the Metatron and I will be talking about and his boldness to exile anyone who did behind my back so long ago."

Aziraphale is shocked, looking at Crowley as he recalls their first meeting all that time ago. Crowley huffs and turns away at this, not believing what he's hearing right now. He slumps sideways in the armchair, realising he or Aziraphale are probably not going to be hurt, at least not with God around acting like this right now.

"Well, go on then. Of you go, the lot of you. Except, the sweet one." God orders, pointing at Muriel who smiles shyly at this. "I need you for something important. You stay with me for a while." The three Angels leave. "Right," God begins, turning to Aziraphale and Crowley with a smile.

"Am I really your favourite?" Aziraphale asks, a shaky smile on his face.

"Of course you are!" God exclaims, shaking Her head at how foolish the question even is. "I didn't put you and Crowley in the centre of the most important events for no reason, you know. The Garden. The Plagues. The Flood. The Armageddon-That-Wasn't. More importantly than that though, I brought you a coffee from the shop." She nods to Nina's shop across the road. "It's an oat milk latte with a hefty jigger of almond syrup."

"You brought me a coffee." Aziraphale smiles.

"Yes, are you going to take it?" She asks, making it clear in Her tone alone he doesn't have to.

Though confused and hesitant, he accepts the coffee She holds out to him. "Shall I..." He questions, raising it to his mouth.

"Drink it? Yes, if you want to do so then of course." She encourages, again making it clear his will is his own to choose here. He drinks it. "Humans make the most amazing things that it astonishes me of how clever they can be to this day."

"It's, ooo, it's nice." Aziraphale says honestly.

"Good. I did place Nina there in hopes her her coffee making gift would please you both." She informs, looking at Crowley who does not care right now. Not that he's Her favourite or that She's here, slouching in silence as they talk.

"Now, I do need to speak with you Aziraphale. I think it'd be best you and I do that alone right now. Crowley's still mad at me from the Fall." God admits, turning to leave.

"You're not...mad he doesn't like you?" Aziraphale hesitantly checks, anxious when God looks back at him with a sigh.

"For Heaven's sake. Literally. Of course I don't care he doesn't like me. Not everyone does and that's okay. Free will exists for a reason, Aziraphale. I just wish everyone else realised that." God leaves right after.

Aziraphale freezes for a moment, looking at Crowley.

"Go on," Crowley encourages. "It can't get any weirder."

As soon as they leave, Crowley lets his anxiety show at Aziraphale talking with God alone. She might not want to hurt them, but what if She takes Aziraphale away from him? He makes himself busy to distract himself from this painful thought. He gets rid of Muriel, letting her take a book with her, before tidying up the shop. Nina and Maggie enter then and talk to Crowley, telling him off about their interference with their relationship. They then point out how blind-sighted Crowley and Aziraphale have been about their own relationship. Right as they leave, Aziraphale returns from his talk with God, excited but also nervous. Outside, God finds Muriel and talks to her, pleased to find her reading the book. She sits with the angel, waiting to see the outcome of what She just told Aziraphale.

Back in the shop, Crowley and Aziraphale both need to talk about something and Aziraphale is bouncing on his heels to speak but recalls God's words to let Crowley talk first so he does.

"We've known each other a long time. We've been on this planet for a long time...I mean, you and me. I could always rely on you. You could always rely on me. We're a team, a group. A group of the two of us." Crowley is trying not to cry at this point. "And we spent our existence pretending that we aren't… I mean, the last few years, not really...And I would like to spend." His voice breaks and he collects himself a moment later. "I mean, if Gabriel and Beelzebub can do it, go off together, then we can, just the two of us. We don't need Heaven, we don't need Hell, they're toxic. We need to get away from them, just be an us. You and me, what do you say?"

Now Aziraphale knows why God told him to wait first. He sniffs, trying not to cry at this. "I didn't believe Her at first...when She told me you loved me. I..." He lets out a shaky breath. "All this time I spent with you and all that time we could've..." He wipes the tears away, crying happily at him. "Crowley, we're married."

"What?" Crowley stills, confused.

"We have been from before the Beginning apparently. That's what She wanted to talk to me about. She knew if you heard it from Her you would take even longer to realise how you felt about me out of denial from how negatively you feel about Her." He explains, moving closer to him.

"How are we married?" Crowley asks.

"She saw us when we first met and knew that we were meant for each other and tied us together in holy matrimony ever since." Aziraphale informs.

"So...does this mean that you..." Crowley trails off, too afraid to finish in fear he'd change his mind.

"Oh Crowley, of course I love you. I always have. It just took me an eternity to realise it." Aziraphale admits.

Crowley grabs his lapels then and pulls him into a kiss, a long, emotional kiss full of millions of years of love they hold for each other. After the initial shock, Aziraphale returns it, melting in his arms. After what feels like a lifetime, they pull apart but don't move away from each other's hold. Heavy breaths pass between them, the tension high. Crowley sighs with relief and rests his forehead against Aziraphale's.

"My angel. Mine." He growls possessively.

"Yours." Aziraphale agrees, letting out a sigh of his own.

Never in his lifetime would he have imagined falling in love with a demon and now he has, he couldn't imagine spending the rest of his existence without him, his one true love from the dawn of existence. Whatever comes their way, they'll handle it together and with God on their side, who needs heaven or hell? They have each other and that is more than enough from now until the very end.
