"Someone outside must have heard us and called the police," surmised Meiko aloud. "We need to get out of her now!"

They all grabbed up their clothes and started towards the backdoor. Meiko pushed against the door but to her horror it wouldn't move. "It won't open!"

BANG! BANG! BANG! "Open this door now! Or I'm going break it down!" The officer shouted.

Mimi pushed against the door with all her strength but it wouldn't open. "Oh of all the nights! Why did this have to happen tonight!"

The office kicked his foot into the front door making it lurch on its hinges.

"What's wrong!" Asked Kari frantically.

"Sometimes when it gets warm out side. The backdoor sticks to the frame," said Mimi.

"Wham! The officer kicked the front door again.

"We have to hide," Sora told them.

"Where? The bathrooms," asked Kari. "He's going to catch us for sure."

"BAM!" The officer kicked the door again breaking it off one of its hinges.

Meiko took a deep breath summoning her courage. "You all go hide in the lifeguard office. I'll turn myself over to him and after he arrests me you call escape and head home."

"What are you crazy!" Asked Mimi. "You can't do that!"

"Come out! Now! The police man shouted.

"We're a team. We stick together. No matter what," Kari told Meiko. "If you get arrested then we all do."

Wham the officer kicked the door again breaking if off its second hinge.

"No," Meiko responded. "There's no point in us all getting caught. You all hide and I tell him I was skinny dipping in the pool by myself. He'll buy that story."

Kari Sora and Mimi all headed towards the office and the police man prepared to kick the door in. Suddenly high pitched whistle cut through the night.

"What is that," the girls thought.

The man turned and saw a shadowy figure standing on the street behind him. The figure threw at rock at the office hitting him in the the head. A second rock struck the side of squad car breaking its window. The officer radioed for back and shouted for the figure to freeze. The figured ducked away into the night and he gave chase on foot.

"I don't know what that was but we need to go now," said Meiko pushing with all her might against the door.

Kari Sora and Mimi pushed with her and slowly the door opened. They rushed down the moonlit alley way putting their clothes on as they moved. Not wanting to risk the cop finding them they moved as a group through the alleyways. They turned a corner and bumped into someone falling back.

A person stepped out from the shadows revealing it was.

"Yolei," the girls said in unison.

"What are you doing here," asked Meiko.

"We'll have time to talk about this later. Now we need to get out of here now," Mimi said.

They moved together down the maze of moonlit alleyways and emerged several blocks away onto the sidewalk. After calming down Mimi asked. "What was that all about?"

"Well. I finished my science project sooner than I thought. So I figured I come join you girls," informed Yolei. "As I got closer to the pool I heard the man yelled and beating on the door. I knew you girls were in there. So I had to help. I blew on security whistle I keep in my pocket to get his attention. Then the sent a couple of rocks his way to lure him away from the pool."

"Well it good you did," said Meiko. "Or else I'd be sitting handcuffed in the back of squad car right now."

"You were pretty brave back there," Mimi complimented her. "Sacrificing yourself like that. It takes someone who is truly strong and powerful to do to that."

"Not to mention dominating and assertive," giggled Kari.

Yoleo cocked a eyebrow and Mimi filled her in on tonight's events.

"I'm sorry I missed it," she told them.

"Yolei? What was your science project about," inquired Kari.

"Oh not much," she responded. "It just about how kinetic energy can be applied to inanimate soil based objects and used as missiles to defy gravity."

"Meaning what exactly," asked Mimi.

"I've been working how to build the worlds most powerful slingshot," she said holding up the wooden Y-shaped object she kept in her back pocket.

They all laughed happily and went home.

The end.
