April

I couldn't believe that it was a year after our wedding. I finally married the man of my dreams, whom I loved since I was ten years old. even as I woke up to him, I still thought that this was all a dream and that I was still going to marry Jeremiah after he cheated on me. but luckily Conrad was here and I could help but stare at him as he slept. he looked so peaceful, I didn't want to wake him up.

I saw his eyes flickering and then they opened and he gave me a small smile. "What's that matter, Belly? Is everything okay with you and the baby?" he spoke softly but alertly.

I rubbed my swollen stomach to feel the baby girl inside of me. we already agreed on naming her Susannah after her grandmother. who I wish that she had met. she would have smothered her with love. like she did with me.

"Yes. we're fine."

"good" he yawned as he sat up and stretched. "I don't know what I would do without you two."

"you never have to be without us."

he grinned to reveal his dimples and I smiled back.

he then rubbed my stomach. "thank god. I wouldn't be able to be without you."

"she means so much to both of us and I'm glad that she'll have her uncle Jeremiah and Aunt Skye. but I was hoping that her grandfather can be in the picture too. he texted me the other day and asked if we could all have dinner together this weekend."

"Belly?" he sighed. "I don't want my dad around my daughter. he was a jerk throughout my whole life. she deserves to be surrounded by kind people." he gestured to my belly.

"I think that he knows what he did to you guys was wrong and that he shouldn't have tried to sell the beach house, he's trying to change."

"no one could change that much."

Jeremiah then barged in, I forgot that he spent the night since Easter is on Sunday and we wanted the whole family to get together. which is why I think that their dad should come. He is family.

"What are you two bickering about," he said with a small smile as he leaned against the doorway with a cup of coffee in his hands.

"Conrad doesn't want your dad to spend time with our child."

he won't even allow him to come to our Easter dinner."

he scratched the back of his head and nodded. "alright, I let you guys get back to it then."

the weirdness in his tone caused us to call back for him and he returned.

"What's up, Jere?" Conrad asked.

"I already invited him," Jere said
