As Rick drove Ardeth sat still holding Lily still where she laid with her head in his lap as he stroked his fingers through her hair.

"I'm sorry if I alarmed your son but you must understand, now that the bracelet is on his wrist we have only seven days until the Scorpion King awakens,"

"We?," Rick asked in disbelief that that word was being used, "What we?,"

"If he's not killed he will raise the army of Anubis,"

"I take it that's not a good thing?,"

"Oh he'll wipe out the world,"

"Ah the old wipe out the world ploy," Jonathon said sitting back in his seat in annoyance.

"Whomever can kill the Scorpion King can send his army back to the underworld, or use it to destroy mankind and rule the earth,"

"So that's why they dug up Imhotep he's the only guy tough enough to take out the Scorpion King,"

"That is their plan," Ardeth confirmed as Rick clenched the steering wheel in anger.

Arriving at the museum Rick turned in his seat to face his son.

"Ok Alex I have a big job for you stay here and protect the car and your aunt,"

"Protect the car? come on dad just cause i'm a kid doesn't mean i'm stupid,"

"I know," Rick said affectionately ruffling his son's hair.

"If you see anyone come running out screaming...it's just me," Jonathon said really not wanting to go in.

"Maybe you should stay too, after all my sister isn't in fighting form,"

"Capital idea," Jonathon said cheering up at staying in the car.

Leaning down Ardeth kissed the shell of Lily's ear and whispered in her ear.

"I love you Lily O'Connell if things go bad know I always have and will," looking at Ardeth in shock Lily surprised everyone by pulling Ardeth into a passionate kiss.

After getting out of the car Ardeth still in a slight daze from the kiss joined Rick by the trunk as he opened it to reveal his weapons.

"You want the shotgun?,"

"I prefer the Thompson," Ardeth replied as Rick handed him the gun. Looking down Ardeth finally got a glimpse of the tattoo Lily had asked him about before on Rick's wrist.

"If I were to say to you I'm a stranger travelling from the east seeking that which is lost,"

"Then I would reply I'm a stranger from the west it is I whom you seek, how did you?,"

"Then it is true you have the sacred mark,"

"Oh no that got slapped on me in the orphanage in Cairo,"

"That mark means your a protector of man, a warrior of god, a Medjai,"

"Sorry got the wrong guy," Rick said in disbelief not wanting to believe he was a warrior for anyone.

Lily sat curled up in the back seat of the car with her left leg laid out on the seat hoping her brother and Ardeth were ok inside. Alex was outside the car telling Jonathon all about the pyramid of gold with the giant diamond on top that belonged to the Scorpion King.

"Stop teasing your uncle," Lily laughed as she playfully scolded Alex for getting Jonathon's hopes up.

"You never know we may find it,"

"If we find it you split some of the profits with me just enough to get me a home in Egypt and buy out the old curator of the Egypt museum,"

"Deal Lily anything for family," smiling at her brother in law Lily got comfy where she sat but not too comfy as her head snapped up at the sound of gunfire inside.

"Hurry!," Alex tried rushing his uncle to get the car started.

"You broke it," Alex repeated in shock.

"Be quiet Alex if there will be any hysterics they will come from me," Jonathon said trying to figure out a means of transportation.

Looking at each other at the sound of the roars Jonathon and Alex scrambled out of the car. Not wanting to risk the wrath of a Medjai warrior Jonathon quickly yanked open the door behind Lily's back and yanked her out into his arms as she held onto his spear of Osiris.

Rushing down the street Alex and Jonathon finally came to the conclusion of borrowing a double decker bus. Rushing onto it Jonathon placed Lily on the seat away from the door as he cranked it up and sped back to the museum to pick up the others.

As he pulled up he noticed the looks of disbelief.

"What happened to my car?,"

"Well I was forced to find another means of transportation,"

"A double decker bus?,"

"It was his idea," Jonathon said pointing at Alex.

"Was not!," Alex shot out towards his uncle as Evy and Ardeth rushed on, Ardeth instantly to Lily's side.

"Just go!" Rick shouted as he jumped on board the bus noticing Ardeth kissing his sister's forehead.

Looking out the back window Rick grimaced as the four mummies chasing them crushed his car.

"Oh I hate mummies," he said with so much disdain in his voice.

"Glad to see me now?," Ardeth asked.

"Just like old times," Rick said as he climbed the stairs to the second level of the bus.

Ardeth glanced back at Lily and then refocused on the mummies he was glad she was safe and took that as strength to begin shooting the two of the mummies made it onto the bus, one upstairs, and one downstairs fighting Ardeth.

Lily bit her lip as she struggled to not jump in and save Ardeth shielding her eyes hating to see her beloved hurt. Evy on the other hand had Jonathon turn the bus just so the men could get the upper hand. Unfortunately that cause them to hit a low bridge and as they drove under it you could hear the glass and metal shatter upstairs.

As they came to a stop Rick came bounding down the stairs. Turning to Ardeth he asked first.

"You alright?,"

"This was my first bus ride,"

"You alright," Rick then asked Lily who just nodded as she carefully made her way to Ardeth's side where he lifted his injured arm to embrace his queen.

Leaning against the wall of the bus Rick let out a groan of after excitement, then turned his head and looked at Evy. Smiling she just crooked her finger and beckoned Rick closer pulling him into a kiss causing Alex to groan in displeasure of seeing his parents kiss.

"What would I do without you?," Evy asked Rick as he held her close.

"Are all librarians this much trouble?," he asked causing a giggle out of his sister.

Alex disgusted with the scene made his way over to the open doorway to examine the damage upstairs from the bridge.

Standing up carefully Lily joined Alex and kissed his head as a sign she was proud of him. He knew her kisses were rare and he treasured them.

Ardeth watched from his seat as his beloved spoke to her nephew as they all tried to catch their breaths. Then suddenly without warning with a muffled shout Ardeth watched in horror as both his beloved and her nephew were kidnapped.

"Alex! Lily!," Rick yelled as he ran and jumped out of the bus running down the road of the bridge just as one of the men yanked the cables to make the bridge rise, which sadly allowed them to escape with Rick's son and sister, and causing the wrath of the Medjai.
