Making their way through the forest Lily smiled seeing Horus, Ardeth's pet bird which was her sign he was alive. As she turned to keep walking she saw Lock-nah holding his gun aimed to fire.
Her stomach dropped and about to run forward to stop him she was too late as he killed Horus.
"No!," Lily called out in even more pain then before.
Imhotep turned quickly at Lily's outburst and grew furious as he saw Lock-nah walk past her with a smirk on his face. He knew he just killed something else important to her. So much for his apology he kept hurting his friend and he regretted it.
They ventured further into the forest suddenly coming upon a area full of skeletons.
"What is this place?," Lily asked no one in particular as she wrapped her arm around Alex pulling him close.
"Look Roman Legioneers, and here turn of the century french Napoleon's troops,"
"What in the name of Anubis did this?," Lock-nah asked sensing the same uneasiness Lily was sure everyone felt being in that jungle. To be on the safe side Lock-nah withdrew his sword.
Even though they were being guarded by one of the minions Lily held onto to Alex fearing for their safety not only in the jungle, but this close to the pyramid.
"Cripes I'm in trouble now," Alex said looking up at his aunt.
"Don't worry I will protect you Alex, Rick would kill me if you got hurt," Lily said with a bit of a smile to try and ease Alex's worries.
Lily knew eavesdropping was wrong but with this crowd she knew she had to and paled as she heard the conversation a little ways up from them.
"Now may I kill him?," Lock-nah asked his boss.
"My lord, now there is no need for the boy,"
"Yes, but we need the bracelet, it will unlock the army of Anubis,"
"The bracelet? The bracelet is the key?, retrieve that bracelet,"
"With pleasure," Lock-nah grinned happily at his orders.
Lily's eyes flickered back and forth but eased her worries as she felt the familiar eyes of her family on them and knew they would be safe.
"What is it?," Lily heard Ank-su-namun ask Imhotep who halted the group.
Imhotep knew something was coming, Lily a.k.a Isis was too far behind him to keep safe without causing everyone to grow wary of him.
Suddenly Lily knew something else was wrong as Lock-nah ordered his men to "Fan out, Eyes open, and Guns up."
"Do not fear, they cannot harm me," Lily heard Imhotep tell Ank-su-namun and she could feel the jealousy grow within her at the way he took care of her enemy.
"Where's the boy?!," Lock-nah shouted yearning to complete that order happily.
Lily never got scared often but as she began to see the men dragged under the eye level of the grass and weird little creatures begin attacking she grew extremely afraid but knew though she had to protect her nephew.
Pulling him in front of her she pushed him to move to get as far from Lock-nah as he could.
"DAD!," Alex yelled out over and over knowing he could hear him.
"Time to remove that bracelet my good son," as Lock-nah went to swing his sword towards Alex's wrist Rick swooped in from their left sweeping Alex up into his arms knowing Ardeth would grab Lily.
Lily ducked avoiding the blade hearing it embed in the tree trunk. When she heard the all so familiar yell of Ardeth as he came barging at Lock-nah.
Stepping back Lily stayed out of the way to allow Ardeth to fight, she loved seeing her Medjai in action and all she had to do was watch their backs from the creepy little pigmy things.
Swing after swing of their swords, clash upon clash of the metal and in the end Lily's face became graced with a smile as Ardeth slayed Lock-nah. Rushing into his arms she wrapped her arms tight around his neck as he pulled her into a passionate kiss.
Without warning a shot fired near them and pulling apart they noticed one of Lock-nah's men fall to the ground dead. Ardeth nodded towards the cliff behind Lily where she knew her family must be.
"You must decide my beauty, I have to leave now to fight Anubis's army, will you join me? or stay with your family?,"
"I...I love you but that isn't the type of fight i'm suited for love, find me after the battle I swear I will come with you wherever you want me to afterwards. Right now I just want to make sure I don't falter your concentration on that battle field and also that i keep my family safe,"
"I understand I will find you I love you," as Ardeth made his passionate farewell without her knowing he took his mother's ring from his pouch and slipped it on her finger, " i will come back for you."
As Lily watched Ardeth take off in the opposite direction she placed a kiss upon the ring he had just placed on her finger and turned running to catch up with her family.
Lily was lucky she almost didn't catch up with her family but she did as they gathered for a minute.
"Come on, come on mom, come on dad we have to get to the pyramid I have to get the bracelet off right now,"
"Oh leave it on it looks good on you," as Jonathon said that Lily shot him a glare.
"No you guys you don't understand. He told me the bracelet will kill me if I don't get inside the pyramid before the sun hits it, today," Alex said as Lily's eyes widened having forgot the days the days it took them to get there already.
"Oh my god," Evy said in shock as she flicked her eyes toward Rick.
With that said Rick said ,"It's time to go," before they all began running toward the pyramid. Jonathon of course got separated but thankfully got back to them just as Lily crossed the bridge after her brother.
"What's that for?," Jonathon asked Rick who held a stick of dynamite.
"Oh nothing just in case of emergencies," as he replied he tossed it towards the creatures before rejoining his family in running to the pyramid. Hearing the tree trunk they had just crossed explode into the ravine taking the creatures with it.
As they stopped for a moment to catch their breaths Evy looked up at the sky.
"Rick,"
"Let's go Alex," Rick said grabbing Alex's arm and running ahead of the family.
Lily ran with Jonathon behind Evy all of them praying Rick made it in the pyramid in time to save Alex.
