AN: So this story is going to be an AU of my story Master Assassins' daughter. It takes place almost six years after the events of the Avengers and Anastasia is a full blown SHIELD agent. In this, Tony is doing some experiments with the tesseract again and somehow pulls somone in from another fictional realm, Middle Earth. In this, Anastasia is faced with something she had steered clear of while on the job and has to make a choice between duty and following her heart.

Thor watched cautiously in the lab as Tony and Bruce worked on trying to figure out how to prevent another portal from opening without them knowing. The last time they had done that, a blackhole opened up and nearly killed Clint. But this was controlled and they could easily close it with the stone that they had from Dr. Selvig.

"Stark, take care." Thor warned, his blue eyes nervous.

The brunette man smirked at him as he waved his hand dismissively. Tony was being careful. Bruce had warned him as well about playing with things they didn't fully understand.

"Are we good?" Tony asked, looking over at Bruce. "I believe so." He replied, making him nod as they fired things up.

Meanwhile, in another world, a tall man with white blond hair and icy blue gray eyes looked around his kingdom. His mind thought of what Lady Galadriel meant by he was going to another world and would find his heart. They would stay there to run the kingdom and look after his young son while he was gone, promising that things would be fine. He sighed as he looked up at the sky as a strange rainbow filled it. Confusion and fear filled him as he was suddenly pulled into it.

When he opened his eyes again, he stood in a strange room with three men looking at him. One of them he recognized from the few times he had dealt with him and his father, who reminded him too much of the dwarves he despised. One of them spoke as a red haired woman came rushing in, shock filling her eyes.

"Stark, what the hell did you do!" The blonde shouted as he crumpled to the floor.

Thor, Tony and Bruce watched as the tall silver haired figure collapsed as Pepper ran in. Her blue eyes looked to Tony as he frowned, watching Bruce go over to him. He swept back his long hair to see pointed ear. Thor looked annoyed as he sighed.

"His name is Thranduil. He is the king of the elves in Greenwood the Great. Your world knows of him only from the movies that have recently come out." Thor told him, making Bruce look up. "Holy shit…its real?" Tony asked.

"We need to get him to the medical bay…call Fury." Bruce said, making Thor nod as he came over and lifted up the willowly figure. "Agreed." Thor said, "No more testing until we can figure out how to send him home."

Pepper stepped out of the way as she looked to her fiance, who looked just as surprised. She couldn't help but notice how right the people who made the movie were. He sighed as she looked at him.

"Fury is going to be pissed." He sighed. "Yes…but you did open a portal without making a sinkhole, so I guess it was a success." Pepper said, kissing him softly. "Yeah, suppose you're right." Tony said.

A little while later, Thranduil came to on the bed. Bruce was sitting close by as he frowned. He put a calming hand out to him as he stilled him. This man had a quietness that reminded him of Elrond, but a danger that was hidden.

"Easy…you hit your head pretty hard." Bruce said as he winced, feeling the knot.

He cringed as he sat up, feeling the leads attached to his skin. He saw him looking up at them as he came over to look at the goose egg on his head.

"Where am I?" He asked, making Bruce look at him. "Avengers Tower. Thor told us he knew you." Bruce replied, making him nod. "I know Odin's son well enough…how did I end up here?" He told him, making him sigh. "In the simplest terms, the bifrost went heywire and pulled you in from your world to ours. We have to figure out how to get you back." Bruce told him. "Lovely…how does she know these things?" Thranduil muttered to himself. "How does who know what?" He frowned. "A friend of mine told me I would be coming here. I just didn't believe her." Thranduil told him, making him nod. "Huh…Thor." Bruce said, seeing him walk in with a duffle bag.

"Bruce…King Thranduil." He greeted, making the blonde nod at him. "Prince Thor…It has been a long time." He replied, making him nod. "It has…These are some clothes that should fit. Pepper guessed your size by sight." Thor told him, making him nod. "Thank you…both of you." Thranduil said.

"No problem…If you feel dizzy, let me know…Is Fury here yet?" Bruce asked, making Thranduil look at him strangely. "He is on the way with Phil. Barton and Lady Natasha are in the living room. They said Anastasia is coming home today." Thor smiled, making him look up. "Really…she is finally done with the assignment?" Bruce asked. "Yes…Rogers had to go rescue her and her partner…Both are a bit banged up." Thor said, making him smirk. "She is Hawkeye's daughter. I would be shocked if she didn't come home bruised and beaten." He mused.

Once cleaned, Thranduil saw the man they were talking about. He was yelling at the brunette as the others listened, amused. The sandy blond on the sofa said something in a language he didn't understand to the woman laying on his knee with a book. She smirked as she continued reading.

"Stark getting his ass chewed out?" Bruce asked, looking on. "Yeah…that him?" The blond asked. "Yeah…Thor said he's royalty so be nice." Bruce said, making the redhead glance up at him.

Meanwhile, the Director of SHIELD stared down the billionaire with annoyance. Now he has to deal with this. Tony wasn't exactly bragging but he was proud of himself.

"Damnit Stark…every damn time." Fury growled. "In our defense, I wasn't planning on anyone being yanked here." Tony retorted. "I'm aware…fuck…who am I going to get to babysit him?" Fury frowned, making him shrug. "Thor said Anya is coming home." He offered, making him look at him. "Stark." He warned. "Come on…Anya could be here, not all of the responsibility would be on her." Tony said, making him sigh. "Fine…But if she snaps on his ass, its on you. I don't know what her mental status is after all that. Romanov's adopted father is with them and had to physically remove her from beating the hell out of Rumlow." Fury told him, making him nod. "Done deal." He grinned.

As they came out, Fury saw their guest for the first time. He could tell he was a warrior and had seen battle. He was as tall as Thor and built similarly to Rogers. His icy eyes looked curious as he sighed, going over.

"Sorry for the unannounced visit, your majesty." Fury said, coming over to him. "I actually had some sort of warning…But I was not expecting this." Thranduil told him as he nodded. "I imagine not. This is probably the safest place for you for this time being. I will assign an agent to keep an eye on you." Fury said, making him nod.

"Who are you thinking?" Natasha asked, making him glance at her. "Your spawn." He replied, making Clint smirk. "You do realize she is burned out, right?" She said. "I'm aware…but she is close to all of you. If you or Barton feel she is too burned out, you can help take over." Fury replied, making them nod.

"Sounds good to me…I don't for see him being trouble, no offense." Clint told him.

"None taken…are these your best?" Thranduil asked, making Fury smile. "They are…I would go back into battle with everyone in this room…and the one who will be in charge of your security detail, I trust her as well. She is young, but she is a force to be reckoned with." Fury told him, making him nod.

A moment later, the elevator opened to reveal a beautiful redhead in a black tactical suit. Her broken bow and empty quiver was enough to make Natasha and Clint look up. Her blue gray eyes looked tired as he rose, going over to check on her. He hugged her and frowned, feeling blood. He removed the quiver to see a large gash on her back.

"Uh, Nick, I don't think she'll be up for babysitting…Banner!" He frowned, watching her knees buckle, "Easy kiddo." "Dad." She murmured as she passed out. "Shit." He frowned.

Thranduil stood back beside Thor as the redhead sat up, her green eyes full of concern. She couldn't let it show as he saw her husband carry the limp figure out of the room. Dr. Banner followed as Fury called for a medical officer to come to the Avengers tower.

"Is she alright?" Thranduil asked, making Thor sigh. "Anastasia has been in the field for the past eight months. She must have gotten close." Thor sighed.

"Too close…Where is she?" Steve asked, appearing. "Barton and Banner just brought her to the medical wing. She had a bad cut on her back beneath her quiver." Thor told him. "Dammit…She told me it was nothing." He frowned, making Natasha frown. "We all know how stubborn she is." He told him, making him look at Natasha.

"She is…I do not blame you for her not saying anything." Natasha said. "I know…so who is he?" Steve asked, making Thor smirk.

"This is King Thranduil of Greenwood the Great…He is the elvenking in that movie you saw last month." Thor said, "He and his people have also been allies to Asgard." "Wait…its real?" Steve asked, making hm nod.

"Yes…My lady, is your daughter the one he was assigning to my detail?" Thranduil asked, making Natasha look at him. "Yes…she's a damn good agent…Eight months is a long time for anyone to be in the field. She stays out there because it keeps her from focusing on her past. She was shunned from a sport she trained her entire life for and had her medals taken away. Anastasia has poured her soul into this job." Natasha replied, making him nod.
