Chapter 1: Distant

In Litwak City, people were enjoying a time of peace. There was no war, no political uproars, and no crime sprees. But however, some things weren't as peaceful with some citizens. In particular it were the Royal Fluggerbutters and the Shaws.

Lately Rancis and Vanellope had been arguing a lot. Mostly it was about how to deal with all the changes that had happened or were currently happening. They were also dealing with Lucy's mental health issues.

It caused stress, but it wasn't full scale knock down drag outs, but just bickering and arguing. And the Shaws, Honey and Zeke weren't arguing, but they were distant. Lately, they hadn't had much to say to each other, and their conversations were short and and not very meaningful.

Of course, the couples did want to stop this, but they had no clue how.

One day, while Honey was making some deliveries, she spotted something that caught her eye. A droid was handing out brochures to people, and saying,

"Looking for a way to spice up or improve your marriages, then come to this retreat."

Honey quickly went over, and got a brochure. It was advertising a couples' retreat on Aquis.

"Come to Aquis for a week long retreat for you and your spouse." Honey read.

It was certainly intriguing, Aquis was already a nice planet with its nice beaches, low Empire influence, and exotic animals. Along with that, the couples retreat also offered activities such as yoga classes, talking seminars, and spas.

"Hmm, this could work." Honey told herself.

She grabbed another brochure, and then went to finish her deliveries

The next day, Honey and Vanellope met up for drinks.

"Hey, Vanellope, I found something interesting yesterday."

"What is it?"

She handed her the brochure.

"A couples' retreat?"

"Yeah, it's on Aquis, and they offer many different activities."

Vanellope looked over the brochure, and had to admit it did look promising.

"Hmm, maybe this could help me and Rancis."

"I was thinking the same thing with me and Zeke."

So the two decided to talk with their husbands about it that night.

That night, as Honey and Zeke were getting ready for bed, Honey decided to tell him about the retreat.

"Zeke, take a look at what I found."

"It's not another stormtrooper helmet you want is it?"

"No. Look."

She handed him the brochure for the retreat.

"A couples retreat on Aquis? Isn't that where that imposter you is imprisoned?"

"Yes, but I did some checking and turns out that prison is way on the other side of the planet."

"Well that's good to know. Whoa this is expensive, I'm surprised you're actually considering this, you hate spending so much money at once."

"Expensive? Let me see that."

Honey took the brochure, and looked it over.

"Uh, Zeke you were looking at the wrong thing, the retreat only costs $50."

"Uh, no Honey, that says $500, you're looking at an add on. What did you really think all this stuff was 50 bucks?"

Honey couldn't believe it.

"What? This is way too expensive. Never mind, let's forget this whole thing."

"Now hold on, this doesn't sound too bad, a couples retreat. Surely that's worth splurging a bit. When I was in the empire I never saw Aquis."

"Do you really think so?"

"Of course I do. Be nice to get away for a few days. Bet the royals would like this too, king and queen could definitely use this. Especially after their run ins with the empire and Lucy's unstable mental health."

"I talked about it with Vanellope, and she thinks it's a good idea too."

"I'm sure she does. Plus it'd be nice to spend some quality alone time with my precious Queen Bee." Zeke said in a suave voice.

Honey blushed.

"Aw Z."

"So, how will we get to Aquis? And this planet is droid controlled right? I know how you feel about imperial space."

"Actually, I was think I'd fly us there. And not to worry, the imperial presence will be low."

"You're gonna fly? Vanellope won't like that."

"And why not, I'm good at flying."

"I know you are, you're an amazing pilot. Vanellope just feels nervous flying is all, mostly in space. She's become too reliant on the droids for that task. Just promise me you'll have money for the hyperspace tolls this time, you remember what happened on your last trip to Equestria months ago. Don't need another fine."

"Don't worry, I will."

The following day, the couples met up.

"Rancis and I discussed it, and I think the retreat is a good idea." Vanellope told.

"So do we." Zeke replied.

"So it's settled?" wondered Rancis.

"Yes, in two days we're going to Aquis." Honey declared.
