A/N: If you haven't been to the Sonic the Hedgehog or Naruto sections, then I have an announcement: today is National Chicken Wing Day. Yes, it's a real holiday, having been declared by the city of Buffalo, New York on this day in 1977. Since I can't get enough of this holiday, and since 1. The lovely KagamiPINKAgreste did some stories about National Hazelnut Cake Day, and 2. Adrigami is her OTP, I thought I'd do this story. Enjoy!

Another heatwave had struck Paris like Martha and the Vandellas, and Adrien Agreste was accompanying Kagami Tsurugi to the Jardin du Luxembourg, the blunette carrying a number of supplies needed for a picnic, such as baskets, a blanket and the like. Adrien smiled as he anticipated the occasion, but there was one thing on his mind:

"Hey Kagami, I'm glad we're having a picnic together, but the way you were talking about it, you made it sound as though there was something special about it. Care to explain?"

Kagami smiled. "You'll see soon enough, Adrien. For now, please help me set up the picnic supplies."

"As you wish, my lovely cherry blossom."

Kagami set the picnic supplies down, and her and Adrien proceeded to set everything up. At this hour, the park was filled with fellow picnickers, so they were lucky to find a spot. Once they'd set everything up, Kagami took a couple of covered porcelain bowls and uncovered them, handing one to Adrien along with a pair of Heidi Robinson chopsticks.

"What kind of soup is this?" asked Adrien.

"It's called 'kitsune udon'. It's a type of udon with abuurage…that is, fried tofu. This is from an old family recipe."

Adrien smiled and proceeded to slurp the noodles. He nodded as the umami flavor massaged his taste buds, the accents of fish wanting him to keep going on the ride. He alternated between slurping the noodles and taking bites of the aburaage.

"This is really good! Heck, it might just be the best soup I've ever had!"

"I dunno," said Plagg. "Tofu doesn't do it for me."

Adrien grabbed a small slice of camembert. "Then maybe this will excite your taste buds!"

Plagg smiled as he greedily wolfed down the cheese.

"Confucius says: the difference between roast beef and pea soup is that anyone can roast beef," said Longg.

Kagami shook her head. "Longg, you know that Confucius never said that."

"Ah, never say never, Kagami-chan! You'd be surprised what millennia of life can teach you!"

Kagami merely rolled her eyes and continued eating her udon. In short order, her and Adrien had finished their udon, so she pulled out a plastic container and gave Adrien a paper plate.

"Ooh, what's next?" said Adrien.

Kagami pulled the lid off the container. "Teriyaki chicken wings, another traditional family sauce combined with something more modern. This was the whole reason why I wanted to have this picnic with you, because it's National Chicken Wing Day."

Adrien tilted his head slightly. "National Chicken Wing Day? Never heard of that holiday."

"Yeah, that sounds totally made up," said Plagg.

"I know it sounds hard to believe, but I was looking up holidays around the world and came across it by accident," said Kagami. "Numerous other sources have confirmed it as a real holiday."

Adrien smiled. "I won't argue with that, then!"

Adrien took a wing – more specifically, a flat one – split the two boned sections apart and proceeded to eat it. He let out a hearty "mmm" as the savory sweetness of the teriyaki and chicken filled his mouth with joy unlike anything he'd ever experienced before. Based on how tasty this wing was, he could tell that this was going to become one of his new favorite holidays.

"These are really good, Kagami! We should celebrate National Chicken Wing Day more often!"

"Thank you, Adrien. I'm glad these are such a hit with you." Kagami took a bite.

"This is probably my favorite food that you've ever cooked for me."

Kagami nearly choked on her food. "Really?"

"Really!"

Kagami swallowed and smiled. "Oh Adrien, that's so sweet of you! If you like them that much, I'll have to make them again some time."

"Definitely!"

After finishing the chicken wings, Kagami moved on to the next course: takoyaki – that is, balls of grilled batter with pieces of octopus inside – and then they moved on to okonomiyaki, which were pancakes with cabbage and sliced bacon topped with Japanese-style Worcestershire sauce and mayonnaise. Then, Kagami pulled out a couple of bottles of Ramuné. Adrien inspected his bottle curiously.

"How do you open it?" asked Adrien.

"First, undo the plastic opener like this…"

Adrien did so.

"Then, push it down onto the marble stopper like so."

Adrien opened up the bottle with slight difficulty. Kagami then held her bottle out to Adrien.

"What do you want to toast to?" asked Adrien.

"To a fruitful relationship and a world free of akumas."

"I'll drink to that!"

Adrien and Kagami toasted, and then they drank up, after which they discarded their bottles.

"Well, that was a great picnic, Kagami! We should do this again!"

Kagami smiled. "We're not finished yet, Adrien."

Adrien raised an eyebrow. "Huh?"

"In Japan, it's customary to follow a picnic with an after-dinner mint."

Kagami wrapped her arms around Adrien and kissed him, and he returned the gesture. While he enjoyed kissing his blunette regardless, the way she was seductively offering him a "mint" really got his blood pressure pumping, and he smooched away with wild abandon. Not one to be outdone, Kagami leaned into Adrien until she'd laid him down on the ground. Adrien blushed even harder when she did this, not expecting her to be so dominant, but nevertheless welcoming whatever was to come next. He got a bit of a surprise when she started trying to take his jacket off, so he let her do so, returning the favor by pulling her blazer off. He had undone her tie and was unbuttoning her shirt when…

"Adrien, Luka and I wanted to…"

Marinette Dupain-Cheng let out a gasp when she saw the two lovebirds passionately making out, about to take things further. When they became aware of her and Luka Couffaine, they stopped and turned towards the Love Song couple.

"Hey Marinette! Hey Luka!" Adrien casually waved at Marinette and Luka.

Marinette frowned. "Are you two quite done trying to make sweet love to each other?"

Adrien chuckled. "Do you want us to?"

Marinette shook her head. Adrien and Kagami were a very interesting couple for sure.
