Prologue

Ages ago, before Shao Kahn and the events of the Mortal Kombat tournament, there existed six realms: Earthrealm, Netherrealm, Chaosrealm, Outworld, Orderrealm, and Edenia. Each of these realms contained a Kamidogu – mystical relics that were crafted by the elder gods. Held within these relics was the essence of each realm.

It is said that, when wielded, these relics could make or break reality itself.

These six realms were also assigned a god to watch over and protect the realm, as well as its Kamidogu.

Edenia's god was known as Argus.

Argus protected the realm of Edenia, along with his wife, Delia, a powerful sorceress who could wield fire. Together they birthed two sons: Daegon and Taven. Since Argus was a god and Delia a mortal, their sons were considered demigods.

When the boys were old enough, they began training in the art of combat. Delia used her abilities to create a firespawn, whom the boys nicknamed Blaze. Forging their own weapons and armor, both Daegon and Taven took their fight against the infernal creature.

Daegon eventually proved himself to be the strongest of the two brothers, amassing more victories against the firespawn than Taven. These victories began strengthening Daegon, as the energy from Blaze was absorbed by his armor. But with each surge of energy came a fury that he could not control.

His raw, intense rage coupled with his insatiable lust for power consumed Daegon. It was causing him to become increasingly unstable.

He became mad with power!

This madness drove Daegon to grow jealous of his father. He sought to overthrow him and claim Edenia for his own. In order to gain control he murdered his parents, Argus and Delia, in their sleep. He chose to spare his brother, Taven, deceiving him about the death of his parents and offering him a place to rule at his side. But Taven did not trust his duplicitous brother.

Upon learning the true reason for his parent's demise, Taven attacked his mad brother. Although Taven's anger was enough to go toe-to-toe with Daegon, he was no match for his all-powerful brother.

Taven was defeated. Killed at the hands of his own brother.

With his demigod-like power, Daegon declared himself king. Ruling over Edenia with an iron fist.

But his reign didn't last.
