After max confessed to me , it is hard for me to fall in sleep. I turn back and forth in bed and wandering why did he fall in love with me . Someone is knocking my door , I get up and open it. It is my mom who is standing in front of me
"Can I talk to you for a minute ?" Mom smiles at me
"Yes mom, come in please ." I let her come in
We leave the bed room and come to balcony. I pour a cup of tea for her .
"What do you want to talk to me mom?" I rub my eyes
"What did max said last night. You were all red." Mom is worried about me .
"He ………he confessed to me that he loves me but I refused ." I lower my head
Mom is shocked . Why is she shocked? Is she angry with me?
"No wander , since last time he saw you that he starts to keep a good relationship with abnegation. " mom sighs." What about Alan? Don't lie to me . I know you very well."
"I have a special kind of feeling for Alan however I don't know mom." I shake my head
"Once I was his father's ex girlfriend. Then for some reasons that I transferred to abnegation not Candor ." Mom holds my hand
My mom was a transfer? Alan isn't dauntless born
"Mom you are not from abnegation ?" I am surprised.
"I was born in dauntless and Alan was born in Candor ." Mom says very calmly.
Mom was from dauntless? I was suspicious of it and I am right.
"Mom why didn't you transfer to Candor?" I rest my head on her shoulder.
"I and his dad had a fight and met your dad in school. Everything was planned out by the god Delia. Maybe it is time that I give you back to dauntless." Mom kisses my forehead." Alan is a good boy ."
I don't know what to say. Mom stands up.
"You have to go to bed now because it will be soon for your test." Mom smiles
We stand up and get into bed room. I lay down and mom puts the bed sheet on me . She kissed my forehead .
"Goodnight honey ." Mom says
"Good night mom" I close my eyes." I love you."
Very soon with mom beside me , I fall into sleep. When I wake up, it is already second morning. I get up from the bed and dressed up in my grey robe. Today we have to get to school but the lessons are only happening on morning because afternoon we have to do the test
I walk downstair into cafeteria . Dad is still reading newspaper and mom is making breakfast . Today I don't need to cook because mom said that I have to think for tomorrow .
"So sister are you ready?" Caleb asks.
"Yeah I am ready. Thanks for asking. After class today, you guys can come back or waiting for me ." I smiles
"We will wait for sister to come home together ." Maria nudges on my arm.
I know that beatrice and Maria will wait for me because three of us are best sisters ever .
"Beatrice and Maria love you as always ." Mom puts the breakfast on the table." You can invite Abby to sleep over tonight so you two can go to the ceremony together ."
"Why you like Abby so much . She is from erudite ." Dad rolls his eyes
"Andrew, it is between you and Jeanine Matthew but not her . Jason always treats us nice ." Mom sits down beside dad." So chill out please ."
Dad doesn't say a word anymore . After breakfast four of us leave the house . Except dauntless and erudite are using train and car as transportation, other factions are using bus .
"Why dad hates erudite so much?" Maria tilts her head and looks at Caleb
"He has his own reasons . Just respect that okay? " Caleb says impatiently.
"Caleb watch your attitude please ." I say
Caleb looks at me coldly. He doesn't like me I know it since Jason coulter and I developed a good relationship .
"I know that no matter what is your result that you will leave abnegation." Caleb clinches his teeth." You are a traitor."
" Caleb , it is your sister's choice ." Jason coulter walks toward us." Hello Delia , how are you doing?"
"I am fine Jason. Why are you here?" I am happy to see him
He hugs me and very soon let go of me .
"I am here to have a meeting with your dad and mom. I am sorry to hear what your brother said to you." Jason sighs.
"It's okay. You have to go . Don't be late Jason ." I smile at him
"I will see you tomorrow ." Jason kisses my forehead.
When we get to school, it is already late . We all get to our class . I sit with my best friend Abby who seems sad.
"What happens?" I ask her
"I will tell you after . We have to listen to class now Delia." Abby shakes her head at me ." Not a big deal."
After the class, Abby lays down on the table .
"Abby what's wrong." I hug her
"Can I stay at your house for a night?" Abby cries
"Yes that's what I want to ask you. However what is happening?" I sigh
Abby has a boyfriend called Eric . He is brother for Jason .
"I and Eric broke up. He physically abused me ." Abby lifts her sleeves up and I see purple bruise .
"God why is he doing that? Why haven't I notice it." I am shocked
Eric wasn't an aggressive boy . Why is he doing it? Does Jason knows it but choose not to tell me ? He doesn't know that I and Abby are good friends so maybe that is just because he doesn't know
"We had a fight so he threw a vase at me ." Abby sobs
"It's okay Abby. We will sort this out." I brush her hair
After lunch, it is time for us to go to the test. We all wait in the cafeteria and teacher will come out and call our name . Beatrice and Maria sit beside me .
"It's will be okay sister." Maria rests her head on my shoulder." You will be okay ."
I look around . I see that erudite are reading book and talking with each other . Dauntless are shouting and screaming. Candor are discussing some issues and amity are playing games with each other
I am wandering does erudite really like to read all the time , does dauntless always like loudness , does Candor always like to have exciting debate and does amity always like to be this friendly? I think that no one can defy norm anymore than me
Now the teacher comes in and she has a booklet in her hand
"Abnegation, Delia prior , erudite Abby Katrina , Candor Elizabeth kang, dauntless Zeke pedrad , amity Mary Reyes ."
Mary Reyes? Is she Johanna Reyes daughter?We all stand up and walk after the teacher . Teacher brings us inside the corridor . Alongside the wall , there are several rooms which are only using for aptitude test .
We stand in front of the door waiting for the examiner to let us in.
"Come in please."
I open the door and see a dauntless woman sitting there cleaning up the electrode.
"Hey." I say .
"Hey my name is tori . I am your examiner today. Sits down and gets comfortable." Tori doesn't look at me
I sit on the chair and suddenly I see a hawks on her back
"Why the hawk?" I ask
"I never see a curious abnegation before ." Tori shrugs." In the ancient world, hawk represents sun. I was afraid of dark before so I think that have a sun on me will help me to avoid that fear."
"You are afraid of dark?" I ask again
I know that I shouldn't ask again but I can't control myself
"I was." She gives me a cup of liquid . I take it
I don't know what is it so I don't want to drink it
"What is it?" I say
"I can't tell you but trust me ." Tori raises her eye brows
I don't want to waste time so I drink them all. Then I passed out very soon. When I am awake , I am in cafeteria . However everything disappeared but only me is standing in front of the mirror . I can see many of my reflections and two plates appear in front of me
One has a piece of cheese on it and one has a knife on it .
"Choose." A familiar voice appears
"Why?" I ask
"Choose." The voice becomes impatient
I stare at the plates . I still don't know why I need to choose them
"Then have it your way." The plates disappears
The door opens and I turn around . I see who is it. However i rather use what to describe it. It is a big black dog which is barking and scratching. I finally understand why they ask me to choose either a choose or a knife .
What should I do? The dog can smell a secret from human when they are scared but I can't let the dog knows that I am scared . Looking into its eyes are the sign of aggression, then what is the sign of submission? I have to look away
I slowly lower my body and move my eyes away from the dog. I close my eyes. Don't hurt me please . After a long time , I feel something is licking my face
I lift my head . The dog is sitting right in front of me . I sigh with relief. I am happy that I didn't pick up the knife .
"You aren't that scary ." I giggle
A girl now walks into the room. She stretches her arms out.
"Big doggy." The girl screams
The dog turns around and I know what is going to happen. The dog runs toward the girl and I can't let it happens . I chase after the dog and throw my self at it.
Is it the end? Everything disappear around me and I wake up in a room. No people in it so I stand up. I open the door and then I am on a bus .
