Authors note: To answer a question by twilightmomct My computer broke, I will get it fixed one of these days I made an author's note in my other story and forgot to put it in this one. But typing on mobile with my big thumbs probably left a lot of typos. When I get it fixed I am going to go back and fix all those. I tried using Grammarly but it seems to be make more mistakes than making the go away. I've been typing this on Google Docs. I'll try this one in the app and see if that's better. Please let me know

Also thanks for all the follows I didn't expect that in just a day

Chapter 5

Bella's pov

Sunday didn't come fast enough. It was about 4 pm when I called Sophia

"they Soph, what's up" I said eagerly on the phone.

"Why aren't we FaceTiming"

"Well, I'm not feeling well and I don't want to be seen" I hoped she couldn't tell that I was lying

We talked for about three hours until my mother told her it was bedtime. It was honestly great hearing her voice. I know I'll never be able to see her again which saddens me.

Carlisle walked in after that. "You did great, are you okay" he asked

"I'm not sure. It was great to hear her voice, but after I realized I will never see her again"

"I'm sure you will"

"Even if I am able, it feels worse seeing her knowing I won't be able in a few years because at that point in time, it'll be noticeable"

All he could do is put his hand on my shoulder. He almost looked guilty

"It's not your fault Carlisle. You don't need to feel guilt. It be worse for her if they got a phone call that I died"

"I know. When you said Charlie wasn't alive anymore I thought it be easy for you since I knew you weren't close with your mom. But then yesterday..."

" I doubt it was easy for anyone. I mean a nineteen-year age gap isn't something you hear about every day, it's not your fault for thinking that. It's not your fault I got into a car crash. I'm fine Carlisle"

I went over and hugged him.

"You want to come to the hospital with me tomorrow to see how you react"

"Shouldn't I start small? That's kinda big anyway wouldn't they recognize me"

"I doubt anyone would recognize you with how much go in and out of there every day. Anyway, your skin tone has changed and we can get you different color contact since you can't go with red eyes. Even if someone expected those things should throw them off"

"Are you sure this is a good idea"

"I believe that you can do it "

" I nodded"

The next morning Alice put green lenses in my eyes. Everyone wished me luck which honestly made me more scared for what would happen. Soon after we were off.

Three hours later

I stepped out of the car slowly. I'm still unsure if I can do this, but I will try.

"Should we go in" Carlisle asked

I smiled and followed him inside. All sound hit me pretty bad. It was like someone stuffed one hundred doorbells in my ear. It wasn't too much that I couldn't handle it though. Carlisle lead me down quite a few halls before getting to a room. He gestured me to sit.

"Are you okay" he asked

"Have hospitals always been this loud"

Carlisle pov

"Is it only noise that's bothering you" I asked a bit concerned. She's only been a vampire a week and she's in a building full of humans that have open wounds.

"Yes, and it's not bothering me to the point where I can't handle it though"

"You want to try to interact with a patient " I asked her

"Are you sure that's a good idea"

"I'll be there with you if something happens"

All she did was nod her head at me. She was obviously very nervous.

"How about some blood work"

"Okay I guess there's no point of starting out easy" she said a bit sarcastic but I still could hear the fear in her voice

"Follow me" I said

We entered a room. "Good afternoon Ms. Jones, this is a new nurse. Just explaining the job and showing her around. Do you mind if she takes your blood today?" She nodded

Bella put on rubber gloves and sat next to her. She tied the tourniquet around her arm and started feeling for a vein. When she found one she asked "Are you ready" After she nodded the needle was stuck in. She put the bandage over the spot and took the needle out. After putting the cap on the vial she handed it to me.

As we walked down the hallway I said

"See you did great" All she did was smile at me

"Your face didn't even look as if you had any temptations"

"I didn't, is that weird" she said

"Well I wouldn't say it's a bad thing but it's definitely different"

"I honestly think you could do this a lot sooner than expected, I would wait a month just to be safe though" When those words left my mouth I saw the biggest smile on her face.

Authors note part 2... Since it was made clear in the series she did extremely well around blood really early on I thought I'd keep that. What do you guys think?
