Burn it all to the ground: Bolvangar's destruction
They apparently said that the name, "Bolvangar," essentially meant "Fields of evil." And from what Clarke Griffin had witnessed there? She saw no reason to dispute this name. Children were severed from their daemons by the masses. They were turned practically into ghosts. And they usually died soon afterwards.
Those that survived? But lived as ghosts, with their daemons banging their heads against the walls of their cages? They and their severed daemons were taken in by the Gyptians, and taken with them to live their lives out peacefully.
However, there was still the matter of what was to be done about the woman running the station in Bolvangar, and about all the staff who followed.
Dr. Abby Griffin, the head of the team investigating dust and choosing to claim that dust was inherently bad, twisted, had ordered multiple children be severed from their daemons, so as to test if dust could be stamped out.
This was an error to assume.
Dust couldn't be stamped out, any more than a person's actual soul could actual be extinguished, without killing a person or animal.
Why didn't the Authority see that?
They were connected to their souls, didn't they see that severing those souls would lead to only horrors and pain and nothing else?
But no, Abby, funded by the Authority, which was run by Dante Wallace, who was soon to be succeeded by his son, Cage Wallace, had gone through the many different experiments, disregarding the safety of all.
However, there was a reason why Cage Wallace would never succeed his father.
And it involved the witches, the armored bears and the Gyptians.
Iorek, an armored bear, who had claimed a kingdom, all courtesy of Clarke Griffin, her white tiger daemon, Cassia and her best friend and brother, Wells Jaha and his jaguar daemon, Tamara, had torn through a good portion of the Magisterium and had killed multiple guards and high-ranking members of the Magisterium.
The Magisterium had now been devastated. It didn't matter how high-ranking you were. If you were a member of the Magisterium? You were dead.
Dante and Cage Wallace? They had been publicly executed.
The Gyptians had captured and killed many who worked at Bolvangar.
The guards and generals were all killed.
And the people in charge? Thelonius Jaha, Abby Griffin and Marcus Kane? They were currently being severed from their daemons.
Clarke and Wells? They had been against this from the start. They tried to save other people at Bolvangar, not wishing for there to be more bloodshed.
But they had been prevented from doing it.
It all happened so fast.
After having found out that the armored bears had torn through the many villages and towns to reach the Magisterium, and with a section of the witches, killing off all of the Magisterium in the process, and then learning that everyone, save for the children in Bolvangar, were going to be targeted too? And so were the Tartars? Clarke and Wells tried to interfere.
But they had trusted their mates.
This had been the mistake which they had made.
Their mates, all witches and children of witches, had taken precautions.
As they were preparing to go into battle, eating and drinking the hours before, Clarke and Wells both felt themselves becoming immensely tired. Weak and tired.
As Clarke and Wells swayed on the ship of the Gyptians, Wells's mate, Pietro Maximoff, and all of Clarke's mates; Natasha, Yelena, Maria, Melina, Pepper, Wanda, Hela, Carol, Diana, Beatriz, Tora, Mari, Helena, Dinah, Niylah, Sigrid, Brunnhilde and Shayera, watched Clarke and Wells consume their wine, they smiled as Clarke and Wells began to sway sleepily.
Clarke and Wells's adoptive mothers; Callie Cartwig and Kohe and Danika, watched as well, guilt in their hearts.
They wished not to do this to Clarke and Wells, but they needed their daughter and son safe. If Clarke and Wells believed that any of the people that intended to sever children, might be salvageable? Then they would need to be incapacitated. Clarke and Wells would be left on this ship, guarded by Ryder, his daemon, Talopor and Anya and her daemon, Jortana.
As Clarke and Wells collapsed, their respective mates lunged in and held their arms out, catching Clarke and Wells.
Pietro caught Wells and both Natasha and Yelena caught Clarke.
Both Tamara and Cassia were sturdy enough that no damage was caused to them as they collapsed to the wooden floor of the ship, dust, the other type of dust, flying up all around the two daemons, as they hit the deck.
"It's going to be okay, Clarke," Yelena said, kissing Clarke's forehead as the younger blonde lay unconscious in her and Natasha's arms.
"Let's get her and Wells to their quarters," Diana said, walking down the hall, Natasha and Yelena following her with Clarke in their arms, and Pietro following with Wells in his arms.
Cassia and Tamara were gently lifted up by groups of the Gyptians and the witches, led down the hall to Clarke and Wells's room.
Normally, Clarke and Cassia would have stayed in one of Clarke's mates' rooms and Wells and Tamara would have stayed in Wells's mate, Pietro's room. But they decided to take Clarke and Wells and their daemons to their own shared room.
They knew that when Clarke and Wells woke up and discovered what had happened? The both of them would be unimaginably angry.
"Clarke's alethiometer?" Wanda asked as her daemon, Ved'ma, the bearcat, followed at her heels.
"I have it," Danika said, walking over, and handing the alethiometer over to Wanda, who stretched her arm out and took it from one of the women who Clarke called "mother."
Wanda smiled at Danika and nodded to her. "Thank you," she said, "I know this is hard to watch."
Danika shook her head, her dark eyes narrowed and her copper cheeks twisting slightly as Danika's jaw clenched, as the woman thought of all who had suffered in Bolvangar.
"It wouldn't be nearly as hard to watch, as Clarke being severed from her daemon," Danika growled, "That woman, Abby? I'm certain that she would happily sever Clarke from her daemon, if given the chance."
Wanda shuddered and she heard both Mari and Shayera, not to mention Jasmine, Mari's lioness daemon, growling behind her, and heard Gatar, Shayera's African harrier hawk, shrieking angrily.
Wanda hated to say it, but she could imagine Abby Griffin doing just that. Severing Clarke from her daemon, Cassia, all to keep Clarke under her control. Because that was who Abby was.
"We'll kill Abby before she gets that chance," Helena spat.
Kohe walked up to Danika, smirking as she looked past Shayera, Mari, Helena and Wanda, down the hall where the rest of Clarke's mates were taking her and Cassia and Tamara and where Pietro was taking Wells.
"Yes, you will," she said, trusting those that wished to keep her daughter and son safe, to do what they promised, "But only if I don't get to that horrid woman myself."
This declaration of intended murder, brought a camaraderie between Clarke and Wells's loved ones.
All of them snickered, pleased to see that they were all planning the same thing.
They were getting very close to Bolvangar now.
Soon, they would march on frigid ground and blast the station open, killing every staff member and doctor inside and killing all of the Tartars.
They would save the best pain for Thelonius Jaha, Abby Griffin, Marcus Kane and their closest guards; Bellamy Blake, John Murphy and the other higher guards.
Everyone was going to suffer, save for the children.
The witches, the witches' children, the Gyptians and the armored bears? They were going to burn the Magisterium and all of its branches, including Bolvangar itself? To the ground.
Author's note:
Going to have each part be very short. It's just a series of how the Magisterium and Bolvangar are taken down way more brutally. And for anyone asking, Clarke is an adult in this. She and her mates are all adults, and are together. Clarke and Wells have been to Bolvangar, when they were children. I'll give flashbacks to explain what the two of them saw and how they survived.
And just wanted to post this, since there have been a lot of fics, where Abby, Kane, Octavia and Bellamy get what they deserve. So I just wanted to add to it.
