A/N: I have been a SMB fan since I was a young kid and I've recently went down on a nostalgia trip with the series. I absolutely love this series! Which is why I'm introducing to you my fanfic: Super Mario Brothers Vs The World! This has references to a wide number of Super Mario games (and if you're a really smart person, you'll recognize them). My progress might be a bit slow-ish with this one but it would most likely be due to things out of my control. Anyway, enough talk! Time for adventure! Let's-a go!

Mario and Luigi: (jumping in from of the screen, beside the Nintendo logo) "Nintendo!"

Chapter 0: Prologue

The black screen steadily disappears to expose a bird's eye view of King Bowser's castle. The camera then zooms in on the castle until the inside is exposed. It is here where we see King Bowser the Terrible, the supreme ruler of the Koopa Kingdom. He is accompanied by Iggy and Ludwig Von Koopa, the two smartest Koopalings. Iggy and Ludwig were finished designing a state-of-the-art device to aid Bowser on his upcoming conquest. Ludwig, looking especially proud of their handiwork, spoke up first for their presentation to Bowser.

Ludwig: "Greetings, your Highness. We have completed your device and I must say that I am quite proud of it! Iggy's genius was especially helpful, despite his... questionable mental state.", he says in his usual German accent.

Iggy just let's out a quiet but maniacal laugh at what his brother said.

Ludwig: (ignoring Iggy) "Anyway, I am happy to unveil this device, as I do believe it's up to your liking! Iggy, please remove the sheets."

Iggy: (unveiling the device) "Ta-daaaaa!! We call this one the Hypno-Kube! BAHAHA!"

Bowser takes a look at the new device from his throne. It slightly resembles a dark purple GameCube but without the ports and extra things (and it's two times as big as one). It does have a disk reader at the top, with the top having a crooked looking spiral on top of it.

Bowser: (nods in approval) "Well done, you two! Well done indeed! But I do question how this device functions. How do I use it this device?"

Ludwig: "I'm glad you asked, your Highness! This device is designed for the most important aspect of it, which is this disk! (Ludwig holds up a black disk with a dark purple centre) This disk contains a music piece, created by yours truly, in which a composition of music notes can be heard. These notes, due to their arrangement, combined with the disk being charged by my magical powers, this song is able to manipulate the minds of its victims. This will make them completely susceptible to any command and obey whoever played the disk."

Bowser: "Any command, you say?"

Iggy: "Hehehe! You betcha! Their minds will be warped and mushed up! They'll be made completely obedient!"

Ludwig: "We even had a test subject to test this on. Roy! Get over here, please!"

Roy does as Ludwig commands. Like a cartoon, he is seen with dark purple spiral particles around him, as to symbolize that the disk has affected him.

Ludwig: "Roy, kiss my feet!"

Roy: "Yes, Master Ludwig."

Ludwig devious and... quite humiliating command is obeyed by Roy. He gets on his knees to kiss the composer's feet.

Iggy: (taking out his phone) "I'm definitely taking a pic of that!"

Ludwig: "Thank you, Roy. Also, if you want bring anyone back to their normal mental state, just use star power to reverse it. Like so!"

Ludwig waved his wand over Roy as it's currently charged with star power. Roy is now normal again.

Roy: Ugh, what happened? My head feels all fuzzy.

Bowser: Gwahahaha! I am impressed by you two! Truly I am! With this, I can capture Peach in no time!

Ludwig: (unimpressed) "Your Highness, as... that does seem desirable, you have to be aware that those two blasted plumbers will just find a way to rescue her and reverse the spell again. Also, he clearly has a romantic bond with Mario-"

Bowser: "DON'T SAY HIS NAME! Grrrrr... Mario. He makes me so angry just thinking about him. He gets ALL the praise, fame, riches, romance, what have you. Nice guys should finish last. They are supposed to. (Sighs) Well, I guess you are right. I've haven't been focusing on the bigger picture."

Iggy: And what may that picture, sir?"

Bowser: Hmm... I'm thinking of a bit of the old... world domination!

Ludwig: (smiling) Wait, you don't mean..."

Bowser: "Yes, I do mean it when I say... that it is time to take over the world! GWAHAHAHA!!"

Peach's Castle

NOW PLAYING: New Donk City Theme (Super Mario Odyssey)

There is a party at Peach's castle! It's being hosted by Mario and Luigi, the Super Mario Brothers. There is food, drinks and games all set up for the enjoyment of all the attendees.

Mario: "Ay Luigi! Pass-a me some more fruit punch!"

Luigi: "Okie dokie! (Gets up away from a table) Excuse me guys, be back soon!"

Luigi got up went to get some fruit punch. Thankfully, the line was quite short, so he happily waited his turn. A minute later, he received some punch himself and his brother from one of the Toads.

Luigi: (handing Mario the cup) "Here you go, Mario!"

Mario: "Thank you very much!"

Mario was at a table with Princess Peach, talking to her about the party.

Peach: "Wow, Mario! I have to say that I'm amazed by this lovely party! You guys should oat yourselves on the back."

Mario: "Thanks, Peach! Hey, Weegee, how is Poker going?"

Mario turns around only to not see Luigi anywhere. Well, except at the Poker table again.

Peach: (giggles) "He must really love that game!"

Mario: "Oh yeah, he does! Let's-a go see him win."

The couple in red and pink went to investigate the poker game. They saw Luigi with a big smile on his face which can only be explained by his spectacular winning streak. He's seen with Wario and Toadsworth.

Luigi: "Haha! Who's-a up for another round, huh?"

Wario: "I don't understand how you're this good!"

Luigi: "I guess I just have the Luigi style!"

Mario: "Wow, Wario. How are you even losing? You literally have a casino."

Wario: "Bah! Shut up, Mario! Who cares, he's just lucky."

Mario: "I don't knowww... What you do you think, Toadsworth?"

Toadsworth: "Well... it's clear that Master Luigi has some skills in Poker. He's quite lucky, yes, but his expertise is extraordinary!"

Wario: "Extraordinary? Wahaha! This whole game is recruit difficult for Luigi. I'm not trying at all! f we were gambling, however, then I'd get more serious. Why aren't we gambling, by the way?"

Mario: "Well, I wanted to but Peach said we can't. (points his thumb at her)

Peach: "Well, thank goodness for that! Gambling is not good for you."

Toadsworth: "I have to agree with the princess, gentlemen. I abhor gambling. It has ruined so many lives!"

Wario: (laughs) "Well, it hasn't ruined mine!"

Peach: "Wario, you own a casino."

Mario: "Well, I don't-a see a problem with gambling every once in a while. Life's a gamble! You gotta know how to take risks. That's what the spirit of adventure is about! Right, Lu?"

Luigi: "That's-a right!"

The whole group heard the doors of the castle open as a brown-haired tomboy princess with an orange dress ran towards the group. Could it be? Yes, it's-!

Peach: "Daisy!"

Daisy: " Peach!"

The two girls shared a hug with each other before Daisy greeted the others.

Daisy: "Mario! What up, Jumpman!"

Mario: "Daisyyy! You know what's up? My hand! Up top!"

Daisy: (slaps his hand for a high five)

Mario: "Down low!"

Daisy: (misses his hand)

Mario: "Ah, too slow!"

Daisy: (laughs) Ah, you got me! Not bad! Oh, hey Toadsworth! Hey, Wario! Hey, where's Waluigi?"

Wario: "Oh him? Oh, he's at home. He said he needed to "hone his tennis skills" or something. I don't get it, to be honest."

Mario: "Well, I hope his skills are honed enough to defeat the Super Mario Brothers! Isn't that-a right, Weege? Huh? Weege? Luigi?"

NOW PLAYING: Underground Theme (New Super Mario Bros.)

The group scanned the room for Luigi. He was nowhere... to be seen. Wait! Hold on... Daisy is sniffing him out. No, like, seriously. She's literally sniffing him out.

Peach: "Uh, Daisy? Why are you-?"

Daisy: "Oh, this? Don't mind me, just sniffing him out."

Mario: "Ok, but... why?"

Daisy: "Oh, I just recognize his scent!"

Mario and Peach stared at Daisy whilst she continued to sniff. Mario's face looks like he's holding in a laugh; Peach's face looks both concerned and red like a tomato (as I think we all know what that could imply). Meanwhile, Luigi is hiding in a barrel.

Luigi: (whispering) "Ah, no, no, no! What is-a Daisy doing here? Why didn't Mario tell me she was-a coming?! Oh merda! Wait... who is making that sniffing noise?"

Daisy: "Yoohoo! I'm getting warmerrrr!"

Luigi: (whispering) "Oh no! It can't be! She's getting closer! Mamma mia, sono un uomo morto!"

Daisy: (quieter voice) "I'm getting warmerrr! Hmm? Oh! (whispering) Gotcha!"

Luigi: "AAHHH!"

Daisy grabbed her boyfriend by the foot and held him up. The sound of the death sound from Super Mario Bros (NES) is played at this exact moment.

Daisy: "I found him! Go Daisy! Woohoo!"

Mario: "Yeah! Way to go, Daisy! Eh, Luigi? Try again next time, man. (chuckles)"

Luigi: "Grrr... Daisy, you can let go of me now."

Daisy: "Oh! Sorry!"

Daisy lets go of Luigi before he walked up to Mario.

Luigi: "Hey, excuse me! Me and Mario have to have a little chat."

Mario: "Right now?"

Luigi: "Yes, right now!"

Mario: "Ok, if you say so!"

Mario and Luigi went to a hall at the left to have a talk.

Luigi: "Mario! You asshole! Why didn't-a you tell me that Daisy was coming I wasn't prepared for that!"

Mario: "Oh! Sorry, Luigi! I guess I must've forgot! I guess because she always comes to our parties, trips and sports events with us that it didn't-a come across my mind."

Luigi: "Ah, well... fair enough. Sorry, Mario."

Mario: "It's-a fine, Luigi! However, I don't-a see a big deal with her being here. I mean, she's your girlfriend and she loves you to death!"

Luigi: "Yes, but what if I mess up something? What if my palms get all sweaty? What if... what if I piss myself?! She'd just think I'm a huge dork!"

Mario: "Ok, first of all... gross. Second, you need to stop overthinking. You can't-a be anxious all the time."

Luigi: "You'd be surprised."

Mario: "Also, you're already dorky as is. That's why she loves you!"

Luigi: "Oh! Well, I guess you're right. Hey, what do you mean by tha-?!"

Mario: "Shhhhh. Stop talking, we have a party to attend to. Let's-a go!"

Luigi: "Uhhh... okie dokie!"

Mario: "Atta boy!"

Mario and Luigi step out of the hall when they saw their friends cheering on Wario and Daisy. Donkey Kong and Rosalina were also seen cheering them on.

Peach: "Yeah, go Daisy!"

Donkey Kong: "Come on, Wario. Show no mercy!"

Rosalina: "You got this, Daisy!"

Mario: "What's going on here?"

Peach: "Wario and Daisy are just arm wrestling."

Wario: "Face it, Daisy. You're no match for this bruiser!"

Daisy: (chuckles) Really? Because you seem to be sweating!"

Mario: "Oh, Daisy would wipe the floor with Wario ten times over."

Donkey Kong: "Come on, Wario. Show her what you're made of!"

Daisy: (sees Luigi) Hey, Luigi!

Daisy instantly slams Wario's arm on the table and got up from her chair to talk to him.

Wario: "Damn it! How is that possible?"

Daisy: "Heyyyy, Weegee-pieeee!"

Luigi: "Wah! Oh, uh... h-hi, Daisy."

Daisy: "How are you, mi Amor?"

Luigi: " Oh, me? I am fine, haha!"

Peach: (giggles) "They're so cute together!"

Mario: "Hehe, they are! A perfect match I'd say."

Everything was going smoothly until... a tremor?

Wario: "Uhhh, is this an earthquake?"

Rosalina: "Why is the ground shaking?"

Toadsworth: "I hear something flying above us!"

Mario was the first to get out the castle to investigate.

Toadsworth: "Master Mario! What are you doing?! You can't go out there! You'd be a dead man!"

Mario: "Dead? Hah! I dance with death everyday!"

Peach: "Mario, please listen to Toadsworth, or at least listen to me. Please don't go out there. This looks serious!"

Mario: "I'm-a going to see what it is."

Mario walked outside to investigate, despite Peach and Toadsworth's protests.

Toadsworth: "Is he this stubborn?"

Luigi & Peach: (sighs) "Yes."

Mario: "Aha! Youuuu."

NOW PLAYING: Bowser's Theme (Super Mario 64)

It's a big ship flown by none other than King Bowser and the Koopa Kids! He takes out a microphone to speak.

Bowser: "Testing, testing, one, two, three. Good morning, Mushroom Kingdom! Your king has arrived! It's-a me, King Bowser!"

Everyone in the castle: "BOWSER?!"

Mario: "Hey! Down here, you big turtle!"

Bowser: "Oh, look at we have here! If isn't Mr. Video Game Himself! Mario." (growls)

Mario: "State your business, Bowser! Come to take Peach away! I'd easily get her back and you know that!"

Bowser: "Peach? Bah! I'm not here for her!"

Mario: "You're not?"

Peach and Toadsworth: "He's not?!"

Bowser: "You see, as much as it is nice to have a princess to myself, I have been reworking my goals to be more... feasible. I prefer to have a dastardly marriage... with the world!"

Luigi: "is he... gonna marry all of us?"

Bowser: "NO, IDIOT! It's a future of speech. What I mean is... what I mean is... oh, you know what? I am not a fan of long speeches or explanations of evil plans. Why not I just show you instead? Ludwig! Play the lullaby."

Ludwig: "Feast your ears on my hypnotic symphony!"

Ludwig inserted the music disk into the Hypno-Kube. The music is a eerie, loud and chaotic assortment of instruments. It's being played through loudspeakers for Ludwig's non-consenting audience to listen to.

Mario: "Hypno-Kube? Wait a minute! Oh no!"

Mario ran back inside the castle to alert the others. It's-a NOT looking good!

Mario: "GUYS! WE HAVE TO SCRAM! THAT SONG WILL HYPNOTIZE YOU!"

Everyone: "HYPNOTIZE?!"

Everyone started to panic upon hearing the news. People were running all over the place until they all decided to run to the doors.

Donkey Kong: "Guys! The doors! Get to the doors!"

They all make a beeline to the front doors, but it has been blocked by an army of Koopas with spears.

Luigi: "Get to the back entrance! Hurry!"

They bolted to the back entrance, but that has also been blocked, this time by an army of Dry Bones.

Daisy: "Oh no! What do we do?!"

Unfortunately, with no way out, the music got to them. They have all been brainwashed! Well... all except Mario, Luigi, Peach and Daisy. Bowser got off the ship to investigate the scene. He entered the castle with an air of sinister arrogance.

Bowser: "Do my eyes deceive me? Or is that I truly have a whole army of slaves at my disposal?! H-hey! What is this?! Mario, Luigi, Peach and Daisy?! Ludwig! Why aren't these plumbers and their princesses hypnotized?!"

Ludwig: "I... I am not sure, sir! The only theory I have in mind is that they are protected by some magical force, like how we are protected by our magic."

Bowser: "Drats! Well that just roasts my cheep-cheeps. Bah! No matter! I have a different idea. Ok, guys! Since you aren't hypnotized, I'll give you... ehhhh... ten seconds to run before all of my new slaves capture you all!"

The group of four all stood there to look at everyone. All of their friends... brainwashed and made into mindless zombies. It was too easy for Bowser.

Bowser: "Hey! What are you?! Are you guys DEAF?! RUN, FOREST, RUN! GWAHAHAHAHA!"

Mario: "Come on, guys! I know a pipe to get into!"

Luigi "Mario!"

Luigi and the princesses follow Mario to this secret pipe that leads to the pipe system under the castle.

Mario: "Here we are! This way!"

The gang of four ran all the way to the end to the tunnel of pipes. Mario went to what appears to be a garage door. Beside the garage door, there was a USB port, and Mario pulled out an SNES controller. He plugged it to the USB port where it started to glow green.

Mario: "Up, down, up, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, start!"

The garage door opened up after Mario entered the code. It was there were they saw-

Mario & Luigi: "The van!!!"

Peach: "Why is there a garage with a van under my castle... without me knowing? Mario?"

Peach gives Mario a death stare almost as scary as Luigi's.

Mario: (laughs nervously) "I... well, you see, it's... a long story."

Peach: (growls)

Daisy: "Well, we have to no time for long stories! Look!"

They all looked behind them and to their horror, a crowd of their brainwashed friends found the secret pipe and are speeding towards them.

Luigi: "So much for the secret pipe!"

Mario: "Get in the van!"

They all made it inside the van, and Mario took the wheel.

Mario: "Ok! This is your captain speaking. Please fasten your seatbelts and keep your head, arms and legs inside the ride at all times! Thank you so much for-a choosing Mario Brothers Airlines!"

Peach: "Excuse me, 'airlines?!'"

Daisy: "This thing is airborne?!"

Luigi: "Oh, did-a Mario forget to tell you? This thing is not just for land!"

Mario: "Yep! This is also suitable for air and water travel, both on water and below it. It was all Luigi's idea!"

Daisy: "Really? That's so cool, sweetie!"

Luigi: "Hehehe, thanks Daisy!"

Mario: "Ok! Time to take flight!"

A section of the wall opened up for them to fly out from. There is also a big ramp with a speed pad from MarioKart to launch themselves in the air. Mario activated flight mode and floored the gas pedal.

Peach: " Mario! What's happening?!"

Mario: "That speed pad on the ramp should gives us a lot of starting distance! Hang on to hats and crowns! Let's-a GOOOOOO!!!"

The van was launched into the air and it took flight! Mario did not know where to fly but straight ahead. Anywhere is better than the castle, as long as it's far away from it. Unfortunately, there seems to be attack sent from Bowser's ship: Bullet Bills! They seemed to have blinking lights on them and whenever Mario tried to dodge them, they'd follow his path.

Luigi: "Heat-seeking Bullet Bills?! Are you-a kidding me??!!"

Daisy: "Damn it! We're goners!"

Mario: "Oh no, we're not! Weege, take the wheel."

Luigi: "Me?! B-but why?!"

Mario, "Because I am going up there!"

Peach: "Mario! Are you crazy?!"

Mario: "Trust me, darling! I can get a lot crazier! I'll use my fire powers to get those missiles off our tail!"

Peach: "Mario, I-!"

Mario: "Peach, please. Have some faith, I got this!"

Peach: "Oh... ok. I... I believe in you!"

Mario: "Great! Lu, take the wheel! Now!"

Luigi: "Okie dokie!"

Luigi took Mario's place as pilot while Mario goes to the roof of the van.

Press A to jump and press X to shoot fire at the Bullet Bills!

NOW PLAYING: Mini Game 1 (Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story)

Mario: "All right, here we go!"

Five Bullet Bills approached the van, to which Mario shot them all down with precision. Five more showed up, but more spaced out than last time.

Mario: "Easy peasy, lemon sqeezy!"

A bigger Bullet Bill showed up and Mario repeatedly threw fireballs at it. The big Bullet Bill eventually exploded.

Mario: "Oh yeah!"

Iggy's clown car and showed up in front of Mario, followed by Bowser's ship.

Iggy: "Don't you get away from me, plumber!"

Iggy used his clown car to shoot out cannonballs at Mario and the van. Mario will have to reflect the cannonballs back at him and Bowser's ship.

Press SL or SR to switch to Hammer!

Mario: " I got it!"

Iggy launched three cannonballs at the van, and Mario whack them all back at him and Bowser's ship. Iggy launched five more and Mario did the same thing. Iggy then shit out ten cannonballs and Mario successfully hit the cannonballs for a counterattack yet again!

Iggy: "Damn it! Fine, try this on for size!"

Iggy threw out three Chain Chomps towards Mario. They were barking at him as they approach him. One jumped at him, and Mario ran out of its way before it could bite him. Mario noticed the chains behind the Chain Chomps and had an idea!

Mario: "That's it!"

Mario did a backflip to go behind the Chain Chomp.

Press and hold LR to grab! Move the joystick in a circle to make Mario swing the Chain Chomp around, then let go of LR to throw it!

Mario grabbed the Chain Chomp by the chain and swung it in a circle to build up momentum. He finally threw the Chain Chomp at Iggy. He did the same thing with the other Chain Chomps. Iggy and his clown car are blown away and landed on Bowser's ship.

Mario: "That's-a so nice!"

Mario went through the window to back into the van.

Peach: "Mario, that was amazing!"

Daisy: "Woohoooo!! Way to go, ya daredevil!"

Luigi: "Way to go, bro!"

Mario: (bowing) "Thank you, thank you! I appreciate it, but there is no time for praises. Luigi, step on the gas!"

Luigi: "Oh yeah!"

Luigi floored the gas pedal and the van got faster. Daisy spotted something coming from behind them. It was like a blur, but she could make it out. It was blue and had wings and spikes. Wait... uh oh.

Daisy: "Luigi!"

Luigi: "Eh?"

Daisy: "Blue shell!"

Luigi: "What?!"

The blue shell was heard flying towards them and that's when Luigi started turning to avoid the impact.

Luigi: "Come on, come on!"

Peach: "It's too fast!"

The blue shell came closer and closer and closer until... oh, no! The blue shell it the left wing off! The van started to spin around while an alarm went off. Luigi looked at a diagram showing the health of the van. The diagram has a black background with a green outline of the van. The diagram shows that the left wing has been knocked off, with the wing glowing red and a red X blinking above it.

Luigi: "The left wing is gone!"

Daisy: "Damn it! We're goners!"

Peach: "What are we going to do?!"

Mario: "We have to abandon the van."

Luigi: "Abandon the van?! Are you crazy?! We need this thing!"

Mario: "Well, do you have any other bright ideas...?"

Luigi: "Ummm... yeah, nevermind."

Mario: "Thought so. Everyone, take these parachutes!"

Daisy: "Yeah! Time for skydiving!"

Mario opened the door and took Peach's hand. They both looked down and saw how high up they were.

Mario: "Are you ready?"

Peach: "Mhm!"

Mario: "Ok, on the count of three, we're-a gonna jump outta here. One, two, three!"

Mario and Peach both jumped out of the van while holding hands. Luigi and Daisy were watching their aerial descent.

Daisy: "We gotta get out of here. Come on, Weegee

Luigi: "Mamma Mia! Oh, we are soooo high!" (shudders)

Daisy: "Yeah! Try not to shit yourself." (giggles)

Luigi: "I'll try my best. Hey, if we're going to jump, can we do a count down?"

Daisy: "No time! Let's go!"

Daisy fell out the van back first, and quickly grabbed Luigi's hands.

Luigi: "AAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!"

Daisy: "Isn't this fun?!"

Luigi: "NO, IT'S NOOOOOTTT!!"

Daisy: "I'm gonna catch up Mario and Peach. Hang out tight!"

Like a koala bear cub, Luigi held onto Daisy as tight as possible. Daisy straightened her arms and legs to dive down and fast as possible, like what a falcon would do. Luigi and Daisy reached to where Mario and Peach were.

Daisy: "Hey, guys!"

Mario: "Hello! Well, everyone is here!"

Peach: "I can see the ground!"

Mario: "Perfect!"

Luigi: "HOW IS THAT PERFECT, MARIO?!"

Mario: "Calm down, fratello! It just means we can release our parachutes now. Okayyyyy... aaaaaannndd... NOW!"

Mario and Luigi let go of their princesses and all four of them released their parachutes.

Mario: "Let's-a go! This is-a what I'm-a talking about!"

Luigi: "Oh yeah!"

Peach: "Woohoo!"

Daisy: "That's how you do it!"

Their celebrations were cut short when the princesses started to drift away from the brothers.

Peach & Daisy: "AAAAAHHHHHH!!"

Mario: "PEACH!"

Luigi: "DAISY!"

Peach: "MAAAAARIOOOOO!"

Daisy: " LUIIIIGIIIIII!!"

Mario: "How, did that happen?!"

Luigi: "Must've been some wind currents!"

Mario: "Damn it! How could have I been so foolish? Of course wind currents would've-"

Before Mario could've finished his sentence, both him and Luigi got carried off by another wind current.

Luigi: "MAAARIOOOOOO!!"

Mario: "LUIGIIIIII!! MAMMA MIAAAYAYAYAYAYAAAA!!!"

Luigi: "HELP MEEEEE!!"

Mario: "DON'T- A WORRY! I'LL COME BACK FOR YOUUUUU!!"

A/N: Thank you guys so much for reading! I promise to write more chapters but I thought it was best starting with a prologue. I made sure to make it seem like you're actually playing a game (hence the instructions). Sorry if my writing is a bit weird or messy, I just have so much ideas for this fanfic!
