heeey how have you guys been?

yeah I know I messed up in disappearing for months in end and only come back now.

and as an excuse to this I got... nothing.

really, I only had a few personal problems and the rest was procrastination.

but now I'm back with a different fic!

you know, I have recently got gravity rush and I just loved the game, sooo I made this fic.

one of my favorites games teaming up with my favorite character! that can only go right!

anyways now that this is out of the way the usual warnings:

I make these fics to have fun as a hobby so don't expect regular releases or high quality writing, since I can only do my best.

English is not my first language so some stuff might be a bit off, just try to bear with it please!

I don't own neither gravity rush or Spider-Man, they belong to sony and marvel Respectively.

the only thing I own is the story itself.

so without further ado.

enjoy the story.

On top of a building there were two individuals, one sitting at the edge and the other one sitting on the air, seemingly floating in zero gravity in the middle of that rooftop.

"so, your a gravity shifter? And this cat is your way to do it?" Asked the one sitting on the edge, a masked man in a red spandex suit

"His not really a cat but that's the gist of it, I guess" the one standing, a tanned blonde girl in a Black clothes — with a black cat on her lap — replied, before making a question herself "and you were bitten by a spider and gained it's powers?".

"A radioactive spider, and yes, that's the gist of it" he responded in a heartbeat.

"What's with the spandex costume tough?" She asked eyeing his costume up and down, it was red and blue, with a web pattern on the red parts and a big silver spider symbol on the chest and a red one on the back, as well as a red mask with large teardrop shaped white lenses.

"It's a uniform. And what can I say? a hero has to dress up fashionably when saving the world" he responded simply in an upbeat tone, before asking the girl "ain't that why you go with this suit?" He eyed her outfit, a sleeveless, black romper/playsuit with golden decorations along with two golden rings each wrapping around her hips, two around her legs, and one in the shape of the sun on her stomach. She wears a matching headband and a long scarf that reaches past her waist. She also dons a pair of black detached sleeves with golden rings at the ends, and detached socks with golden rings at the ends and black and gold heels.

"I just woke up with then one day, but I guess you are right" she responded.

"Of course I am".

"Okay, so that just leaves one more question" she said as she took the cat in her arm and put her feet on the ground, shouted a question to the world.

"WHERE ARE WE!?".

Where indeed. Currently, they were in a city of some sorts, lean tall buildings everywhere the eye could see, with some space between one another and wide streets, perfect for things like web-swinging or Web-gliding and gravity shifting or gravity sliding.

Just one detail tough.

The buildings were covered in a dark-red substance.

All shapes and forms. There was this red substance everywhere, covering buildings, protruding out of them in spike-like shapes, connecting them, tentacles, you name it.

The atmosphere was also weird.

It was heavy, hard to breathe and red, literally red, when in the city, looking anywhere was like seeing through a filter.

"I don't know, neither in a weird limbo dimension or prototype" the man in spandex proclaimed in response to the girl last question.

"You seem way to calm about this!".

"Kat" the man called her, up until now he was just sitting on the edge of the building calmly, but now he got up, that startled kat — as the man called her — a bit. Then he walked up to her, placed his hands on her shoulders and began "when you stay in this path of life for long enough" he looked her dead in the eyes, lenses not transmitting any emotion, and said "you see so much weirdness that you get desensitized of this kinda of things".

"G-got it" Kat replied while thinking "he got scary for a second".

"Don't worry about It" he said, his mask lenses squinting in a friendly expression. "So, what is this stuff?" He said putting some distance between himself and Kat as to not make her uncomfortable, "it's not a big symbiote, the orbs tell me that much" he said Noticing the big orbs that were present in the substance.

"It also isn't a Nevi, the orbs are different and the stuff feels too... Fleshy" Kat said while touching the mass of substance covering an cabin entrance to the building they were on top of.

"And If the orbs are different the it also isn't a mix of the two". The spandex wearing man added.

"But it still act like Nevi to some extent, like, they are hostile and the orb is their weak point... actually that's a gem" she said, putting the cat from before on the ground and petting it, eliciting a purr from it.

"And judging by how they tried to take over us — mostly me — they seem to want a host, so they also act like symbiotes, but they aren't klyntar, which just sends us back to square one" the spider themed man theorized, walking to the edge again and viewing the city.

"Didn't you say before that they are just like them tough? That might mean something".

"Yeah might, but they are way too different, the eyes are circular shaped instead of Spike teardrop shaped, the figures also vary to much, they have orbs as well, and much more" the man explained without missing a beat. The girl seemed to drop a bit hearing that, but then he added "But they might be their distant cousins or something so you are on to something".

Kat seemed to lighten up a little at that.

"But still no clue on them right?" Kat concluded.

"Yeah. Heck, we don't even know why we were brought form our respective universes to this one" The man replied a bit uneasy for some reason.

"You think there's a reason we are here?" Kat asked.

"There always is" he replied ominously.

"Really?".

"Yeah getting sucker punched into another reality doesn't happen for no reason. Otherwise we would already have an interdimensional society going on!" He explained — sort of joked — to her.

"Oh, that makes sense" Kat thought out loud " but why would someone just trow us into another world like that?".

"I don't know, but in my experience, there's a psycho for everything. Once I met a guy who dressed up as an Octupos and did all sort of evil things" he let out.

Kat snickered at the thought and innocently asked "Like what?".

"Like stealing my body, making me watch as he destroyed my relationships and parts of my life, but also making other parts so much better, in a sense showing how he was superior than me in Being me, all the while I could only watch as a ghost" the man said, his mask didn't show any emotion but his voice cracked a few times while he spoke.

"Oh, I'm so sorry for that! What type of monster would do something like this?" Kat was stunned hearing this, and not in a good way.

"Don't worry about it. There was this whole thing of him trying to he a hero 'cause of this, he became so dedicated to this that in the end he sacrificed his mind to bring me back, 'cause he knew I was the only one who could save the city"

"Oh, so that's the end of it" Poor innocent Kat, didn't know what she just got herself into.

"Nah, he latter on returned on a clone body, there was this whole thing of him destroying my life again as a result of some organization messing with him, buuuuut he then became a hero again, the self proclaimed Superior Spider-Man" the man explained without showing much emotion this time.

"Uhm?" Kat was honestly confused at this, but still tried to keep the conversation going "I can't imagine how it must've been seeing a person using your name like this, Spider-Man" she said.

"At first it was hard, but I got used to it, even came to forgive him in the end".

Kat just looked at him confused, how could a person forgive someone who did so much against them? She honestly was confused, and would voice her concern to her new friend and only Ally on this crazy endeavor.

"Just like that? How could you forgive him!? After what he done to you not even a saint would be able to do that!".

"I forgave him, but I didn't forget, I couldn't forget even if I wanted to" Spider-Man said making Kat let out a confused "hm?" At hearing that.

"It means that I just allowed both of us to move on instead of drowning in self pity" he responded her unspoken question, his tone never changing at all.

"I... don't think I would be able to do that" Kat blurted out, it made some sort of sense now, but still, she would've hated this person to the bitter end if she had suffered This much at their hands, but this guy knew when to just move on and try sort out his life, that was baffling for her. "You are way to mature" she said, earning a chuckle from Spider-Man.

"I don't see myself like that, but thanks anyway"

And now she was just confused.

"Uurrgh.. you are way to complicated!" Kat exclaimed. That was just one chapter of his life she just read, and it was already this crazy!? She wasn't sure if she wanted to know the rest...

"Thanks, I try" he quipped, much to Kat's annoyance.

"Get ready" Spider-Man ordered kat out of nowhere as she was pouting "they're back" he finished, and as if on cue, appeared some dark red humanoid creature with wings, eyes that resembles Spider-Man lenses except they were circular, big sharp teeth belonging to man-eating monsters and bright dark red orbs on their chest that somehow stood out from their bodies.

these creatures seemed to he made of the same substance covering the buildings.

they dived from the air at the duo trying to skewer them with their claws, but with no avail as Spider-Man did a hand spring whilst bending his body to avoid the blows and Kat just rolled out of the way, jumping at the end of the movement into the air like a professional gymnast and just sort of staying there for a second, glowing in red before she flew with her feet aimed at the gargoyle-like opponent, destroying the gem in his chest while sending him back at another one, killing them both.

"That's some Good manners you have Kat! Giving our guests a welcoming gift!" Spider-Man joked while jumping in the air, firing a web line at one of these creatures chest's, spinning it around it to hit another enemy behind him, splattering both against a wall of the cabin entrance to the building.

"Guess I'll do the same!".

Kat was mainly dodging attacks while floating and using these opportunities to send flying kicks to her opponents or just engaging them in combat if she's too close to use a kick. The first few enemies underestimated these Kicks.

this costed their "life".

she hit them with enough force to shatter their gems and destroy their bodies.

While Spider-Man did incredible movements to avoid being hit, weaving and twisting his body around them while counter attacking using his Webbing mixed in with punches and kicks powered by his superhuman strength and agility. The first few enemies tried endure the blows, accustomed to having their hardiness be enough to handle powerful hits.

needless to say it didn't work out for them.

after seeing their more careless brethren being destroyed, the rest tried to twist their bodys around the blows, they were probably flexible enough to be do that, right?

wrong.

Spider-Man was just too agile and flexible for it to work.

so they opted to stay in the air out of fear, they feared the web head out of everyone, funny.

but neither way, they knew they wouldn't cut it alone.

so, After a minute of jokes and battling, Spider-Man proclaimed "And Guess more guests arrived!" and just like he said, as if on cue, more of these creatures — just without wings — appeared having been draw by the sounds of battle, crawling the edges of the buildings, then for a second he looked to Kat who was occupied battling two enemies at the same time, not having enough room to use a proper kick, she rolled her body into a ball (not literally) and then extended her feet as she spun, hitting one enemies in the chest with enough force to crack their gem, this action also made kat recoil in other enemy direction, who she greeted with a spinning kick.

then she heard "Kat, quick! We need more welcoming gifts!" Kat nodded and then her red flow intensified for a second, and nearby objects that were left in the place went flying around her, caught in he4 gravity field which she fired at the enemies like rain.

as this happened Spider-Man guessed the creatures didn't appreciate his joke very much seeing as how they all jumped at him, stabbing and slashing with their claws from all around him, but that was for nothing seeing how Spider-Man twisted and weaved around their attacks, none whatsoever even scratching him.

Kat looked at him in wonder for a second, analysing Spider-Man — he was controlling the battlefield, moving from place to place with acrobatics no normal man could muster to avoid being overwhelmed by the numbers all the while he kept attacking and dodging, and dodge he did, he moved as if he knew where they would try to slash him before they did, and with such grace and skill, not like the one Kat saw on trained warriors before, of course there was training and refinement to his movements but Kat thought they seemed more... Instinctive, animalistic even.

But this analysis was cut short as Spider-Man quickly shot a web line just past her ear and brought down a flying enemy behind Kat, presumably one who as gonna attack her if not for Spider-Man.

"Thanks for the save!" She then got back into combat, putting up a sort of stasis field around her just as four flying enemies were about to slash at her, getting them on her stasis field she spun them around herself making them hit their own brethren and destroying the orbs on their chests as they did so.

"Ya're welcome sista! Just kep up kickin' butt! an' brin' those gifts!" He said in a heavy forced accent, making Kat roll her eyes as dashed to the middle of the battlefield, hitting two enemies who were trying to lunge at Spider-Man in the same kick, landing on an acrobatic spin, then Spider-Man did a round house kick at an enemie who was going for Kat while she didn't get time to get up, and if the creatures had a conscience it would regret not being able to land that blow, because when Kat got up she immediately kicked two gems out of two creatures, and them she took hold of them with her stasis field. why's that so terrifying you may ask? Well...

"you wanted some gifts? Here they are!"

she shot them at two creatures, and the gems then pierced they targets and went for another one, them another, and another, and they didn't stop until 10 more of these creatures were down.

"you are one scary girl" Spider-Man muttered as he continued to destroy the enemies, holding back his strength, this time not because he didn't want to kill anyone, he knew these guys weren't alive or sentient, that much was clear, he simply thought he shouldn't waste that much energy on them when he could need them later.

which was terrifying considering how powerful these creatures normally were.

The creatures did everything in their power to defeat the duo, stretching their limbs to catch them off guard, using their incredible hardness to their favor, slashing and stabbing, diving at them and even using tentacles to hit them!

It was all for nothing.

The duo just kept dodging and beating them up, all the while Spider-Man kept making jokes and quips.

eventually they destroyed every one of these creatures, the hardness and flexibility they had didn't help them in anything.

"I guess they Don't make goo monsters like they used to" Spider-Man said, he didn't break a sweat over this fight.

"they were a bit harder than Nevi, that I can say for sure, still easy tough!" said Kat who was on similar conditions as Spider-Man, except she got a cut on her left thigh, Spider-Man noticed this and went over to her.

"are you okay?"

"I'm fine" Kat just blushed off the problem.

"no you aren't" Spider-Man said while poking her forehead, Kat held the poked spot with an annoyed expression, then Spider-Man said "it looks fairly deep, let me take a look" Spider-Man went to the girl and got on one knee in front of her leg, making Kat blush a little.

"I'm fine..." she said sheepshly, kind of cutely.

As Spider-Man knew a teenage girl wouldn't appreciate him touching and intensively analysing her thigh, he used the system in his suit to send a scan around the thigh, getting a report on her condition.

"it's deep, but not too deep, so wash it, wrap a bandage around it, give it some rest and you should be fine" he gave her the report.

"but we can't afford none of these things right now..." Kat blurted out, unsure of what to do.

"the building's free tough" Spider-Man said getting up and going to the cabin entrance from before, and sweeping the substance out of door.

Kat caught on to what he was saying.

"wait! isn't that stealing!? I thought we were heroes!" Kat cried out with her arms folded.

"and we are, but this place is abandoned, the untire city is, so no one is gonna be missing a few supplies" he said, Kat looked thoughtful for a moment before Spider-Man said "besides, I don't think we're are in a position to be picky".

"you are right, sorry..." Kat sheepishly apologized "why am I apologizing!?"

"don't be, you were just clinging to what would be right under normal circumstances, but right now, we have to think about what's right for this circumstance" Spider-Man replied as he opened the door and entered it, with Kat following soon after.

"r-right" Kat replied, wondering how could the man adapt so quickly, had he gone through something like this before? Well, he did imply it.

they quickly went down an stair case, exiting it they analysed their sorroundings, and surely enough, the interior of the building was even messier than the exterior, dark-red substance filling the place from the floor to the walls, sometimes even the ceiling, holes on the walls and ceiling, a big portion of the building being purely made of that substance, the many things scattered everywhere and most windows were broken letting some natural lighting enter the place.

"well that's a charming place, love the lighting" Spider-Man joked as Kat groaned at his sarcasm.

they kept wandering around the building until they found a residential area with apartments, entering in they saw that surely enough there wasn't anyone there.

"I'm glad there's no corpses..." Kat blurted out, this place already looked enough like a sci fi horror movie she saw the other day before coming here, she didn't want it to look even scarier.

"hmmm" Spider-Man hummed in thought, now that Kat mentioned it, she was right, they didn't see any corpses since they got here, not on the streets, not on the buildings not anywhere on the past hours. "either that means everyone got out safely — which I doubt considering the state of the city — or something is being done with the bodies" Spider-Man said out loud much to Kat's horror, if that was true... she didn't want the think about it, she quivered just at the thought.

they made their way inside the apartment and started looking around for supplies.

Spider-Man quickly found some first aid kits and a backpack that one would use for camping, a lantern, a somehow a collection of combat knifes, a gun(which he discarded very fast, guns aren't his style) and some other stuff, but to him, the most interesting things were the devices around the room, they were advanced, like, decades more advanced then the stuff in his world, at least in terms of common devices, if thats what the technology for normal stuff is then the not-so-normal has to he even more impressive.

Wich makes the state of this city even more worrisome.

he took a few device's here and there, putting them on his newly acquired backpack. "maybe I could use them for something later".

as for Kat, she found some basic necessities like food and water, as well as other basics, exclaiming her happiness she took them all in her arms, and when she couldn't carry more stuff she used her stasis field to levitate and fly them around. She tried to find something to storage the food, but failed. Dropping a tiny bit at her own little failure, she ended up seeing a black purse with golden decorations, close to a bed, it was quite big so it could be enough to hold the food, right?

before she could even test this out Spider-Man came to her.

"don't try to do that with the poor purse, it will hate you for generations to come!" he joked lightheartedly, and as Kat was pouting at the joke, Spider-Man pulled out the backpack showing it to Kat, saying "here, that's much nore appropriate for stuffing supplies".

"oh thanks".

they stuffed the supplies inside the backpack in an organized manner as to not damage anything. After this was done Spider-Man took out the one first aid kit and a few water bottles which he hadn't put on the backpack and said to Kat.

"time for treatment!" Spider-Man exclaimed as he held up the first aid kit and bottles.

Kat sat on a bed of the apartment, as Spider-Man was preparing everything, she looked around thinking about how her friends and people were doing in her absence, they couldn't be that bad without her could they?

Spider-Man made a web cloth and soaked it with water from a bottle and used it to carefully and gently wash Kat's cut, as he done it, she was making a face, a small grimace.

"Does this hurt?" Spider-Man asked gently.

"not a lot, I have been through worse actually" she said simply, she had a feeling she could be frank about her pains with him, something she couldn't do with a lot of people other than Raven, sometimes Aki and Syd (for some reason), okay, maybe Yunica but thats it, if she was frank with anyone other than these people, they would aways be pitying her or creepted out, maybe another thing but she never liked the result.

"so have I, but pain is pain, if its uncomfortable just tell me" and as she hopped, he wasn't pitying her, creeped out or anything she dislike, he was actually understanding. But this made her think a little...

"why do you help me so much?" she asked.

"well, I don't know. Maybe it's 'cause of the, hmm, Hero culture from back home?" he replied not so sure himself.

"hero culture?" Kat asked, she was now intrigued by this statement.

"well, its not really a culture per see, its more like a thing between us old superheroes. We look after the young ones, make sure they don't commit the same mistakes we did and generally have a better life" Spider-Man said, he was thoughtful of this himself, Wondering how and when this start "if they made it in inspired by is, that make them our responsibility..." Spider-Man explained, more to himself than for Kat.

"so an old habit... wait, does this make you my mentor?"

Spider-Man chuckled, he didn't expect that "well, I can give you a few tips but I'm not quite suited to be a mentor" he said as he was applying medicine to the wound,

"are you kidding!? in these last few hours I learned a lot from you! I think you would make a great mentor!" she reassured him as he kept treating the wound.

"well, thanks" as he wrapped an bandage around her thigh, he quipped, almost whispering "well, eat that Logan...! Oh wait he's probably the one who thinks I would be a good teacher the most..."

"uhhmm..." Kat wasn't really sure how to proceed this conversation, so she opted for just staring at him trying to think of something.

"he's appointed me as a teacher to a mutant's school once" Spider-Man answered the unspoken question Kat didn't know she had, to which she just let out a "oh! so that's it! Wait! You are actually a teacher!?" in response, she didn't knew what mutants were, but she was excited neither way.

Spider-Man chuckled, then laughed a bit.

looks like things are gonna be living while he's in here.

Once they had everything ready, they got outside the building again, this time they came out of the first floor and onto the streets. They moved out of and door in an alley, moving as sneakily as possible to not attract attention.

"okay, why can't we stay at the building again? it gotta a lot of supplies and its safer!" Kat whisper shouted to Spider-Man.

"because we don't know if the creatures can enter there and its a bad idea stay one place to much if it isn't a bunker or something. Besides we can't find clues on how to get home if we stay there" Spider-Man explained, some humor creeping his voice at the last part.

"but why are we moving on the ground so sneakily again?".

"you spaced out didn't you?" Spider-Man accused the young heroine, pretty much right about it.

"that's besides the point".

he chuckled, them said "well it's better than spending all of our energy in needless fights and waste all of it".

she pouted a bit for some reason, then they kept going for a while, until Kat spotted something on top of a building, it looked like an outpost of some sort.

"hey Spidey, wanna check it out?" she whispered to Spider-Man while point at the place while looking at pointed direction Spider-Man responded. "that's an good idea, might give us an clue on what has happened here. Better supplies and whatnots".

"Kat seemed proud at herself, having an wide smirk on her face, she waited for Spider-Man, he wasn't saying anything, only looking around the streets, she was staring at his back, wondering just what he was doing, so je answered her unspoken question "trying to find the better route to go there".

"how did yo-"

"found it"

"go by the bunch of cars stacked together right there, then run up to that alley and we can climb the building, simple as that" he said to Kat, pointing to the places he was talking.

"okay".

and with that they were gone, Spider-Man stealthy moving with smooth and soft steps that produced no sounds and Kat while not as stealth were at least a passing grade. They made their to a bunch of cars scattered around, making a line for them to follow and also blocking the street, being perfect cover for moving stealthily.

if only this cover didn't come from a tragedy.

then they gone to an alley in the low side of the building where the outpost was, getting there they started climbing in silence all the way through, until they finale made it to the outpost.

the outpost was pretty simple, an bunch of futuristic camps scattered around the roof, each one being a block of futuristic technology all with their own porpoises, some larger than others and some colored differently "different colors, different porpoises" was Spider-Man guess at the colors.

they moved around the place, it gave our duo a weird vibe specially as they found abandoned crates of weapons and technology, but not much, it was like the place was evacuated in a rush and whoever used it only left with the most important stuff.

"Kat, grab what you think might be useful and put in a crate or two, no more than that, I'm gonna try to find a terminal and uncover some clues" Spider-Man ordered Kat just as he left, Kat was at a loss so she just gave him a lazy salute and went around trying to find technology to out in crates.

she found two empty crates, they were quite big, but she bet both her and Spidey could carry it, anyway she took the crates in her stasis field and went around the place putting stuff in it, technology she didn't understood but looked impressive and cool, weapons from all kinds like rifles and guns, both energy and kinetic based, some with surprises and tricks up their... barrels.

stuff more non lethal, like blunt weapons,(with a big variety on the energy department) special and survival devices and traps, like a glowing red net she tinkered around a little trying to figure out what they were.

she kept this up for a while.

now with Spider-Man himself, he went to a big gray block, and was relieved when he discovered it was a command center.

that meant he could get some answers.

going for one of the terminals he began his search, it was a difficult task seeing as the the terminals were programmed in a different language, that would be a downer and make anyone give up on the matter instantly.

not Spider-Man.

with a joke about Parker luck, a bit of tinkering, programming and hacking, lots of hacking, Spider-Man managed to create a program that was able to translate the software to his own language despite not knowing the language itself, in just a few hours mind you.

all of that using an old program as a base, which he recreated from the top of his head.

"now that this is out of the way" Spider-Man murmured as he browsed through the files of the place, after a while of this, he murmured to himself.

"well, ain't that nice? our own local apocalypse to deal with".

Unknown to either Spider-Man or Kat, a footage of them was playing on a small screen.

A man in red and gray military uniform with lots of honor badges on it, black pants with red decorations and a military hat of the same color scheme was watching from said screen showing the findings of a type of telescope on a futuristic armored vehicle the size of a truck, but made for faster movements and with a LOT of fire power.

"You were right about this pair Charles. They're beating the Garnets like they w're toddlers, and without breaking a sweat" he said, he had an accent, like the one from a guy straight out of the forties, just without the Slangs, weirdest part is that he was in his thirties — maybe early forties if you squeeze it enough — despite the white hair.

"And you said we should just escort them outside the barrier, how hurt am I that you doubted me!" Said Charles, a much younger man, around his twenties. He had blonde hair and blue eyes, he also wore a futuristic gray and blue track suit on him, with yellow decorations and a sort of black bracelet/watch with a screen on his left arm.

"But seriously tough, who are they? They don't seem like agents sent to us" the man in red and gray asked.

"I don't really know Major, but I have a theory" Charles began.

"Go on" the major general gave his permission.

"A few hours ago we got this readings right here" he typed something on a computer, then appeared data from 6 hours ago, when the duo of Spider-Man and Kat first arrived. Showing things like " unknown energy signature ", " energy peaks", "spacial distortion" and a few other things.

"The spacial distortion, usually happens when a diamond appears" the major said "I know this already, was the whole reason why I sent the order to retreat our soldiers from the streets, with this much energy, an black diamond is possible".

"But there was no diamond anywhere to be found, just them" Charles implied with a slight grin on his face.

"Your sayin' they're the cause of the distortion?" The major asked, catching on with Charles.

"Yes, and not only that, but I also think they are not from this world" Charles theorized, his grin getting bigger and excitement creeping into his voice.

"So aliens?"

"No, more like people from an alternative version of our world!" Charles proclaimed, whatever bit of composure he had gave way to his excitement.

"That's ridiculous" the general affirmed frowning.

"No really! Look at this" Charles showed a different reading on the situation, it looked like an analysis of the distortion from hours ago.

"A rift? But this sort of thing is only used in space travel" the major thought out loud.

"There's no way to use it inside an atmosphere with this much precision, and they don't look like aliens do they?" Charles asked already knowing the answers.

"What 're you implying, chief?" The major asked Charles, he looked like he was in deep thought.

"Right, like I was saying, using it inside an atmosphere is unheard of, and with the precision it was observed even more, and since humans can't go to space yet, there's not a chance it was an alien who had a breakthrough in this field, so..." He stopped for a second before typing a few key words in the computer in rapid speed, after this more data appeared.

The data was from a case from a decade ago, when — under a experiment from a disbanded organization — an object was transported to a different dimension with the same precision observed in this incident, conditions met.

"What if it was someone from a different version of the same world who had a breakthrough?" Charles proposed, the grin now was threatening to split his face.

The more the general examined the data the more sense it made, the type of spacial distortion, the precision, and more importantly:

Their otherworldly powers.

"Are you thinking the same as I?" The great genius Charles Anderson asked the major with some cockiness.

"Super soldiers" the major concluded, some Venom in his voice was creeping in.

"Exactly! They have powers! Like in actual powers and not technology or effects of the singularity! Or even any of the remnants of magic!" The chief proclaimed.

"Their suits-" the major began only to he interrupted by Charles again.

"Are completely normal. I can see that much from just a glance, and just to be safe I used a long distance scanner to make sure you would shut up".

The major just looked at him sternly, making Charles very uncomfortable and nervous, so he said "with all doe respect, sir!".

"Go on" the major ordered.

"Right" letting out a sigh of relief, he continued typing some more key words, then an display of Spider-Man appeared on the screen, like a high quality photo, the major analysed the display trying to find something. Then Charles began saying "well, the man's suit is of very high quality as you can see-".

"It's spandex" the major said plainly.

Hurt that the major really thought it was spandex despite the fact that the texture and look of the suit were completely different, Charles gasped and explained "It actually isn't! You see, the suit is mainly composed of some type of fabric that's not spandex! I don't know the name but it has some similarities to synthetic spider silk, you know the stuff the 'Hunters' suits are mostly made of, and the spider on his chest is made of kevlar!".

"And why's that important?" The major asked, not really appreciating the conversation going In unrelated direction.

"Oh" Charles let out, he wanted to keep going but looks like he wouldn't be able to do it, what a pity "I wanted to talk about the system in the suit but I guess I gotta cut it short" thought Charles, then he said "they are probably high Ranking soldiers if we go based off the suits".

"Out of everythin' you said this one makes the least sense! Explain what you mean".

"Right. So, you remember the military colors rank right? Red for high level combatants, blue for the high level technical experts, yellow for promising people or apprentices, gray for high level leaders or commanders, black for elite soldiers with some political influence and green for normal Ranks".

"Oh" the major let out, then put his hand on his chin, he looked like he was in deep thinking, analysing the situation "you think their suits colors has something to do with their ranks?".

"It sure fits".

The major just gave him a unimpressed look as if not believing in it.

Charles just said in response to his non spoken dismissing of the theory "c'mon, we both know super soldiers don't follow the same dress code, they always have some sort of glamour to them, like, Captain America or the Slayer!".

"I see your point, but it still doesn't make a lick of sense. For Example the colors, how do you get recognized by not only combat but also technical prowess? It's unheard of"

"Yeah but not impossible... Wait... He also has sliver in his suit! and since except for black it's prohibited to have a color you ain't recognized for in your attire, it can't be a coincidence" Charles proclaimed in a slow pace, like he was thinking something else while saying this.

"So it looks like we found a bigger genius than you" the major just teased the technical expert, who wasn't expecting that, so he defended himself pointlessly "what!? No we haven't, I'm the biggest there is!" He kept going on about how he was the bigger genius in the this universe.

"Hmmm if we follow your theory it makes sense, for example; the girl might be an elite supersoldier who climbed the ranks very fast but lacked maturity or tactics, maybe both, so she was put under the wing of another genius" the major theorized for a second, it actually made a lot of sense the more you thought about it.

"Hence the colors black and yellow... So she's like my fighter counterpart? Sweet!".

Silence then took occupancy of the room in the Bearshell vehicle as footage of the "supersoldiers" kept playing on a loop.

"What do we do about them?" Asked Charles in concern, breaking the silence.

"For now, we just observe to figure out what to do with them, if they ain't doin' anything harmful we let 'em be, might even recruit 'em, but right now, we have a more important task at hand".

"Just send someone to secretly keep an eye on them" he added.

"I know just the guy" said Charles.

okay so thats the end of the first chapter.

well I gotta explain some stuff now.

if you don't care about details that you are gonna see anyway just skip to the next chapter (if I have released it already).

.

.

.

you didn't skip? I'm honered!

so lets begin..

first off the version of these characters I'm using.

this Kat is gonna be updated as I write the story, because I haven't finished gravity rush 2 as I'm writing this, so I'm gonna draw more inspiration from gravity rush 1 than anything, but it will change as the story progresses.

now this Spider-Man; he's like a mix of different versions of himself, but you can see him as mostly my version of the comics.

also, like in the marvel Spider-Man game he uses gadgets to fight a lot more than in the comics, where he doesn't usually use gadgets.

Another difference is that spidey is older.

like in his late twenties old.

so he has all of the potential upgrades a comic book character would get in that time(but toned down cause Marvel don't like giving spidey his upgrades) and also is more mature, experienced and all, not gonna say everything that changed with him being older cause I want to explore that.

and of course the one thing I couldn't miss: one more day never happened.

kind of.

I took the Peter B. Parker route from Spider-Verse and just made Peter and Mary Jane divorce, although in this version Mefisto had something to do with it. So there you got it! I don't lose story potential and OMD never happened! will I ever use it? I have no idea! But it's there!

now to the power scaling.

I'm simply gonna use (almost) everything I can find about these characters, trow an explanation if it isn't consistent and boom! they're in their full potential!

so Spider-Man running 1.9 times faster than the speed of sound? Yes!

although I will put some explanation to balance it out, like "he merely went past his limits for a short time so he can't do that normally or for a lot of time".

"but he did stuff like that other times!".

"short distance, different type of speed".

"but-".

"BUT NOTHING!"

and of course I will balance out the two of them and give them challenging problems while keeping them the powerhouses they are.

after all what's the fun in a invencible protagonist when the story is not revolved around that?

now for their powers!

I'm not gonna change much, but I'm gonna add a lot.

what do I mean?.

Kat's powers, while strong is not as strong as they could be. so eventually I'm gonna find a way go give her an upgrade, like every comic book character gets one or two from time! (except Spider-Man! the dude only got one in civil war never again!) and also just make her use them in different ways other than Kicking!

like, I'm gonna mix how her power are depicted in gameplay and in cutscenes, comics, fanfics and whatever different midium I can find to have different effects and give her different advantages and disadvantages.

and last but not least.

they aren't in the marvel universe.

that's it.

so that's it. thanks for sticking with me till the end.

cheers!
