Chapter 2

"Hm? Lucas? Are you keeping a wand in your pants? It's standing up straight!" Healer Gabrielle suddenly detected an anomaly, causing Lucas to jump.

Getting out of the bed, he quickly turned away from Gabrielle. 'Just great,' Thought Lucas. 'I got a hard on while playing doctor-doctor with a 12 year old girl.'

If anyone saw the situation, that's what they'd think. Who would tell them that the real culprit was a fully adult veela next room?

"Hey, Lucas! What kind of wand was that? I want to see it!" Said Gabrielle, bringing her hand towards his 'wand' once again.

Lucas knew that if the examination continued with him in this state and someone witnessed it, FBI would seem a better alternative than what punishment he would be given by the devils who are the mother and sister of this little chick.

"Ms. Gabrielle, I just recalled that I had an urgent task to deal with. I should be going." Making up an excuse, Lucas bailed from the room.

"Lucas! Wait! I wasn't done with my examination!"

Getting out of the room, he sighed. What the hell? It's barely only been two hours since he started living as Lucas and he's already having difficulties.

And after whatever had happened in the explosion, his body has not been in the most optimal conditions. Everything slightly ached and he felt quite drained.

'I need some rest,' he decided. 'And also something to eat.' he added, feeling quite hungry. He started going to the kitchen, but before he could make it far, he was interrupted yet again.

""Hey, Lucas~""

Lucas's feet paused upon hearing the two voices which were perfectly in sync, and his mind instantly recalled who they belonged to.

'Fuck…'

Turning around, he saw two girls in short french maid uniforms. They looked to be around Fleur's age, and most importantly, they looked identical.

'Ruby and Violet.'

Their names came to his mind. Yep, they were identical twins.

'Well, almost,' he thought, looking at their hair. One of them, Ruby, had red hair which was arranged in a bob cut, and Violet had long and straight violet hair that fell to her shoulder like a curtain.

Though these two maids made for quite an attractive view, they were a nightmare in Lucas's eyes. Because…

"Hey Lucas, why have you not done our share of chores?" Asked Ruby, glaring at Lucas.

Violet stretched lazily. "Do it already. We have to do our homework."

As she stretched, Lucas's eyes strayed towards her breast which had become more pronounced due to her action. 'Hm… another difference,' he observed.

Violet had bigger weapons (D cup) compared to Ruby (B cup).

With their orders given, the twin turned around as they began walking away, and looking at their swaying hips, Lucas couldn't help but observe that Ruby also had her strengths.

'Damn it… I'm getting distracted.'

Lucas cleared his throat. "I can't do it," he said, making the two stop dead in their tracks.

"What? Did you… say something?" Asked Ruby, her hand reaching for her wand while Violet just raised an eyebrow in interest.

Yep, that was the difference. Unlike the Squib Lucas, Ruby and Violet were witches. They were also taken in by the Delacours and got the opportunity to attend Beauxbatons with Fleur as her attendants. So, after receiving years of France's finest Magical Education, they inevitably disdain doing house chores, even though it's something that they can accomplish with a few waves of their wands.

Naturally, all the work is dumped on the squib Lucas, who didn't have the backbone to stand up for himself.

But not anymore.

"Yeah, you heard me. I'm not doing your work anymore," said Lucas calmly, looking Ruby right in the eyes.

'I need to be careful, but not to the point that even maids can keep treating me like a doormat,' decided Lucas firmly.

Ruby's pretty face became scary as her nostrils flared. "You little squib, have you lost your mind?" She demanded as she drew her wand, looking to teach him a small lesson.

Violet tried to calm her sister but Lucas merely raised his eyebrows. "You wanna hex me? Go ahead. But don't forget, I have Gabrielle on my side. You know how protective she can be. And her tantrums..." Lucas shook his head, clicking his tongue.

Nothing to brag about, but Lucas might be Gabrielle's most priced 'possession' in the house. And the girls tantrums when her toys are damaged is the stuff of nightmares. So basically, if Ruby actually uses magic on Lucas, she is done for.

Ruby also understood it, as she slowly lowered her wand while gritting her teeth. Though, Violet looked at him curiously. "You've changed," she remarked.

Lucas shrugged. "It's only a start. But I won't be your sucker anymore."

Ruby flared up again while Violet looked at him like looking at him for the first time. "You really have changed."

"I don't think so. Hiding behind a 12 year old girl. That's just like you, Lucas," spat Ruby disdainfully, as Violet dragged her away.

'Damn it.' Looking at the retreating figure of the two girls, Lucas shook his head.

'This won't do,' he decided. He was currently feeling extremely annoyed for having to use a little girl as his shield against two witches who were trying to bully him. How pathetic is that?

Right this moment, Lucas decided that things are going to change. Either he climbs the ranks in this house until he is respected and treated fairly, or he leaves. No way is he going to say a pathetic servant like this.

He looked down at his body. He was quite skinny, with barely any muscles and he felt quite weak. Overall, if he saw this body from a third perspective, he looked like a gigolo or a pretty boy living off of women.

'But... isn't this... just amazing?' he thought. Someone else in his place might complain, since his body was weak and he apparently had no magic. But, Lucas really couldn't complain.

'No disease...' Joy flashed through his eyes. In his previous life, Lucas had the chronic illness of CVID or Common Variable Immunodeficiency. His life had been quite miserable. His body wouldn't gain strength no matter how hard he tried. He would always be skin and bones despite his best attempts, and he couldn't get involved much in physical activities since he got tired very quickly. He had struggled to survive each day, until at 19, his illness finally claimed his life and he died alone in a hospital room.

So, since he now had a fully functioning body and a fresh start, Lucas was already quite satisfied. Humming a jolly tune, Lucas went to the kitchen and quickly fixed himself a healthy supper from the ingredients present. It was quite weird that he suddenly had the cooking knowledge and skills which the previous Lucas guy had learnt in his training, but you wouldn't hear him complain. After stuffing his malnourished weak body with healthy food, Lucas went to his room and laid on the bed.

Lucas had always been more of a do more think less kind of guy. That is why he hadn't bothered freaking out like a shounen protagonist when he had suddenly found himself in a different body in a forest where he could have been attacked by a wild animal.

But, now that he finally had a moment of peace, he contemplated the unreal situation he was in.

He had transmigrated. He is sure enough of that. The circumstances... well, he had finally succumbed to CVID at the age of 19. And his previous life... well, the less he tries to think about that life, the better.

Now, what is this body's previous owner's background? And how did he end up working at the Delacours?

This was a question he couldn't get an answer for. For some reason, all of Lucas's memories before coming to this mansion were wiped clean. He could only recall the things after he was just employed into the family. The memories before that have somehow been erased. Lucas decided to find out about this later.

The next question is, how many things in this world are different compared to the world described in those seven books?

Well, the first thing Lucas can recall would be Sebastian Delacour's death. Yes, Sebastian died not long after he had brought Lucas to this manor. In canon, both of Fleur's parents were alive as they had definitely attended her wedding.

Another change would be that Gabrielle was born much earlier compared to the series. These are the two changes he is able to observe right off the bat and they could be explained with Sebastian taking different actions compared to the canon or maybe due to Lucas's presence.

The rest of the changes, he would have to discover slowly with time. If one small change in the past can change so many things in the Delacour family, the other things he knows from the canon could also be quite different compared to how he remembers it. Lucas made a mental note to carefully note the differences between the worlds and also the current situation of this world.

But for now, the next and the most important question: How did the previous owner die?

Lucas's memories of this event were blurry. He could recall rushing through the woods while feeling unwell, but the rest of the things, he can't remember. Just an explosion.

Lucas yawned. The fatigue of this body was withstanding the explosion was too much, and he couldn't stay awake for much longer.

'Oh well, let's just handle things as they come,' he decided, closing his eyes.

The final conclusion is that, he has been given a new chance to live. And the circumstances right now, even as a miserable servant, are leagues above compared to his shitty previous life.

Determined to make something out of this new life, he quickly fell asleep.

...

"Lucas? Lucas! Wake up. Miss Fleur is calling for you." Lucas woke up to a soft hand patting his cheek.

"Hm?"

Opening his eyes, he saw that it was the head maid Vivienne. Her almond eyes looked down at him in worry and her long brown hair gently tickled his face.

Lucas jerked, startled to find himself with the unfamiliar situation of not being in the hospital, but his brain quickly caught up.

'Fuck... I remember, I transmigrated.'

"Merde, you're finally awake. Are you unwell? You don't usually rest this long," asked Vivienne, gently putting a hand on his forehead.

"I... I'm fine." Lucas was a bit uncomfortable receiving her concern. He quickly rolled around to stand up on the other side of the bed.

Vivienne nodded, "That's good. Because Miss Fleur is calling for you."

'F*ck...'

Lucas's brows furrowed upon hearing that. 'What did that harpy want? Fuck... not the training.'

According to the memories, Fleur has recently started training her spellwork everyday.

Vivienne looked at him understandingly and sighed. "I know you are scared of her, but maybe that's why she bothers you more."

Lucas wasn't scared of her, but since the previous owner was, he just nodded contemplatively. "You're right, Miss Fontaine. I'll try to change."

Lucas checked his attire. His butler uniform was thoroughly creased due to his sleep. He scratched his head. 'Should have at least changed before crashing...'

"Here, let me," said Vivienne, flicking her wand and suddenly, the creases on his clothes vanished, making them so clean and freshly pressed that they looked dry cleaned.

Lucas hid his fascination upon witnessing magic for the first time in his life. "Thanks, Miss Fontaine."

The Head maid looked at him with a chastising gaze. "Lucas, how many times have I told you, you can just call me Vivienne. No need to be so formal."

Lucas shrugged. The previous owner respected the kind and warm-hearted head maid too much to call her by her name, and Lucas felt uncomfortable being too familiar with her, so he just called her Miss Fontaine.

"Can't do, Miss Fontaine," said Lucas apologetically as he shuffled out of the room.

Lucas looked at the time. Nine o clock in the morning. Fuck... he had slept too long. Or was he unconscious? Anyways, the fatigue of tomorrow is almost gone. Now he is only feeling sore, as if he had been exercising yesterday.

Lucas quickly made his way into the dinning room, where he found two veelas having breakfast. Fleur was in her pyjamas, which reached her thighs. She had bed-hair and a groggy look on her face, but she still managed to look like a model.

But instead of Gabrielle, someone else was present. Lucas paused in his steps as he looked at Mistress Appoline Delacour, and immediately felt nervous.

Wavy Platinum blond hair that were arranged in elaborate braids. Two platinum locks framed both sides of a gorgeous face. And a demeanor that conveyed elegance and grace. As expected of a veela and Fleur's mother, Appoline Delacour looked like a goddess. But her eyes when she looked at Lucas, were cold enough to freeze.

"Lucas. You have finally deigned to grace us with your presence," she said with biting sarcasm, after gently putting her fork down.

"Mistress," Lucas bowed in greeting, his head playing the previous owner's memories. Usually, Appoline treats all the servants in the mansion very well. Well, everyone except Lucas, that is. For some reason, she hates Lucas with a passion. She doesn't directly abuse him like Fleur, but her utter dislike for him is always apparent in her every word.

Appoline idly sipped her orange juice.

"Ruby and Violet informed me you haven't come out of your room since yesterday noon," she said conversationally, but there was hidden danger in her tone.

Lucas cursed those two bitches inwardly as he shuffled his feet. "I... I wasn't feeling well, mistress."

Appoline raised one delicate brow to that. "Oh? Is that so? Well, make sure it doesn't happen again," she said, her expression hardening.

"Yes, Mistress."

After sneaking a gloating look at Lucas, Fleur looked back at her mother, putting on a serious expression. "Maman, do you know the selection criteria of the Triwizard Tournament yet?" She asked, barely hiding her excitement.

Appoline shook her head. "Fleur, we have talked about this. The tournament is dangerous. I simply cannot allow you to take part," she said, a helpless look crossing her face.

"But Maman! I've been practicing really hard! I'm the top student at Beauxbatons! It can't be something dangerous to me. And besides, I want to make you proud, Maman. And show those bigots how capable we veelas can be," she said vehemently. Fleur knew what to say in order to make her mother cave.

Appoline sighed. "Fleur, just keep practicing. If you are capable enough, I Will think about it. Please understand, ma fille, I can't lose you too…"

That brought silence to the table, and glances were thrown in Lucas's direction.

'Shit, why is it my fault?' Thought Lucas bitterly. It all began when the previous owner was first brought into this home.

One day, Sebastian Delacour returned home in a dying condition. And with him, he had brought a 10 year old Lucas. He asked Appoline to take care of him. The man couldn't say much and died soon after. But since Lucas's mind had all of his previous memories erased, there was no way to confirm exactly what happened. Ever since then, Lucas has been staying here, and both Fleur and Appoline hold him somewhat responsible for his death. That is also the reason why Appoline has become much more strict when it comes to her daughter's safety.

"Maman, are we still going to the Quidditch World Cup?" Asked Fleur.

Appoline's lips pursed in distaste. "It's being hosted in Britain. Their security arrangements can't be trusted, But,,, I'll see if I can make arrangements."

Fleur sighed, "I understand, maman."

Appoline got up. "Well, I'm going now, ma fille. Make sure Gabrielle eats her meals." she said to Fleur, her tone soft and gentle, unlike when she was talking with Lucas. No wonder the daughters also don't treat him right either.

Appoline was dressed in an impeccably fitted blazer and pencil skirt, which accentuated her figure without being overly revealing. The neckline plunged just enough to reveal a hint of her ample cleavage. Looking at her, one can see where Fleur gets her voluptuousness from.

"Come back early this time, Maman," said Fleur like an obedient daughter.

Looking at them, it was quite apparent the mother and daughter shared an extremely close bond. Lucas just felt an outsider looking at them.

Appoline stepped into the Fireplace.

"Ministry of Magic," she said, sprinkling sum floo powder, and off she went in a burst of vibrant green flames.

'Wow...' Lucas was quite surprised to see the iconic floo travel. He wanted to try it as well sometime.

As soon as Appoline was gone, Fleur's smiling face was also gone. She glanced at Lucas. "Let's go. I need to train."

Lucas sighed. "Where's Miss Gabrielle?" He asked.

Fleur grinned mischievously. "She's sleeping, of course. It's just you and me now."

"Come on." She said, jerking her wand. And Lucas found his collar being pulled forward by an invisible force.

Fleur took him to the training room of the Delacour chateau. Once inside, Lucas examined the place. It was similar to Fleur's room, only much, much bigger.

There were various types of books on spells and dueling arranged at one corner of the room. The other corner had various trinkets lying around, along with books on enchanting. The rest of the spacious room was filled with training dummies. In the center was a dueling ring, also equipped with a dueling mat.

While Lucas was still looking in around, Fleur had already changed her clothes from the adjacent room. Now she was decked in a sports bra and bodycom leggings that stuck to her legs, highlighting her Voluptuous figure.

'Holy shit. Even though she's a bitch, but she's a sexy bitch,' thought Lucas, trying not to get distracted.

"What are you looking at?" Fleur stuck a pose just to mess with him as she smirked. "Know your place, scum."

Without warning, she fired a stinging hex at him, causing him to jerk.

Fleur frowned. "Are you not awake yet? Move properly!" She said, firing more spells.

Having the memories and instincts of the previous owner, Lucas moved, dodging the spells while running. A stunning spell hit him in his hand, but instead of getting knocked unconscious like any other wizard is supposed to, Lucas only felt his hand go numb. The stinging spell didn't hurt him as much as they should.

It was only now did Lucas comprehend just how amazing this ability was. But, a stunner hit his leg and Lucas fell to the floor due to his momentum, hard.

Fleur walked over to stand over him, as she looked down at him her eyebrows wrinkled. "What's up you today?" She asked, prodding him with the tip of her toe.

"No, since yesterday. You are different," she observed. The previous Lucas would do whatever Fleur asked of him without a word of complaint. The previous Lucas would always look like he had something bothering him all the time. But since yesterday, he seems quite… free? Fleur didn't know exactly what had changed, but she didn't like it.

"Hey, I'm talking to you, scum," she said, using another stinging hex on him. She knew it wouldn't hurt him much. The guy had resistance to magic similar to those savage giants.

"Why are you acting different?" She asked, firing another stinging hex.

Lucas felt a familiar feeling bubbling up in his chest. It was the same stuffy feeling that he recalled the previous owner feeling in the past, only much weaker.

"That's it," At this moment, he finally remembered what had happened yesterday in the forest. The feeling had reached an unbearable degree. And then—

Lucas raised his hand, almost like he was in a trance. And–

"Ouch!" A high pitch voice sounded in the room as Fleur fell back on her butt. She looked at Lucas in horror. "You… what…? How…?" She blabbered, looking at Lucas in shock.

Lucas looked at his own hand, which had just shot a stinging hex at Fleur, in amazement. How indeed?

"Weren't you… weren't you supposed to be a squib?!"

A grin lit up on Lucas's face as he understood his situation somewhat. This is going to be so much fun…
