Happy Birthday Sammy
A/N: Hi y'all it's May 2nd you know what this means; it's Sam's birthday. I got the sudden inspiration to write this little OS while listening to a Sam and Dean playlist. #SamWinchesterWeek was so much fun. Hope you'll enjoy reading this. Thank you so much Jared for Sam, words can't describe how deeply I relate to this character and care for him.
No particular season setting, though set in the bunker.
Dean set his alarm to early morning for the next day, May 2nd; his baby brother's birthday. He wanted to celebrate his brother's birthday by getting his favorite food and whatsoever. He didn't care for any incoming chick-flick moments. He knew Sam wouldn't be in the mood to celebrate but the older Winchester wanted to do his best to make the kid forget about monster of the week for a while. Dean got up at 7:30, got dressed and left a note for his little brother, letting him know he went on a grocery run. Upon arriving at the grocery store, Dean made himself a mental note on what to buy.
Meanwhile the youngest Winchester was slowly waking up. After getting up, he walked to the kitchen, rubbing sleep from his tired eyes. He frowned when he didn't see his brother in the kitchen. "Dean? Where are you?" That's when Sam noticed the note and smiled. After drinking his coffee, he went to get his laptop to look for a case.
An hour after he had left, Dean was done with grocery shopping. He drove home, tapping his fingers along to the music. Once he reached the bunker, he took the several bags out of Baby and entered their home. He sighed when he saw Sammy leaned over his laptop, no doubt looking for their next case. "Hey geek boy, today there'll be no research or mention of any kind of monster, it's gonna be you and me. It's your day Sammy. I picked your favorite smoothies, we have popcorn, pie and your rabbit food. Yes, I'm willing to eat it only for you. Happy Birthday favorite little brother." Dean squishy hugged his brother. "I'm your only brother."
Sam chuckled, tears glistering in his eyes. He had never liked his birthday but since Dean began celebrating it, he had opened up about it and embraced his brother's happiness on this day. It was a rare sight to see Dean this happy.
"Go to your room and set up those Star Wars movies you love so much, we'll have ourselves a marathon."
That's how Sam spent his birthday, watching his favorite movies, eating popcorn with his brother resting next to him. For one day they had a "normal" life. Tomorrow monster hunting could resume. "By the way, I meant to thank you Dean, this is the best birthday I've had in years."

A/N: It was supposed to be a real short one so here you are. I know Adam is their brother too but I had to insert the "I'm your only brother" line just because imagining Sam saying it makes me giggle. I adore every Sam & Dean moment. This is how I pictured them celebrating Sam's birthday. Jared being as much as a Star Wars nerd as I am, this totally fits. Happy Birthday my favorite moose
