City lights twinkled.

In the back of a Taxi, Edward rode with an arm hooked around my shoulders.

I eagerly took in the sights.

I stared out my window with a dreamy-eyed gaze.

I craned my neck to watch local pedestrians.

I settled back into my seat.

Edward interlaced his fingers with mine.

I shot him a tender smile.

I turned to watch some street musicians playing outside a Cafe.

Edward faced the driver.

"Please pull over." He said in some foreign language.

The Taxi driver pulled over.

Now, with a grin, Edward led me by the hand through a crowd gathered around the musicians.

I stared, slap-jawed as people young and old dance around me joyfully.

We lifted our intertwined hands to let a young woman walk under them.

Holding each other close, we noticed a man kissing a woman's hand.

Other couples shared similar embraces on the outskirts of the crowd.

Edward turned to me.

He cupped my face in his hand.

Edward tenderly kissed me on the lips.

Later

He finished settling our bags in the back of a small docked motorboat.

I sat up front, watching Edward with an eager smile.

"So, we're not staying in Rio?"

"No. We're just passing through."

He got behind the wheel.

"Are we close?"

Edward grinned boyish and started the engine.

Now, the boat casted a snowing wake as it speeds across the expanding rippling Water.

From a distance, it leaves Rio's lush twinkling lights coastline, cutting smoothly over the Water.

The boat approached a monstrous Island.

"That's Isle Esme. It was a gift from Carlisle."

We approached a cove which leads to a beautiful house nestled among lush trees on the other side of the sandy beach.

Now, as we crossed the front patio, Edward scooped me up into his arms.

He carried me to the entrance.

"Is this totally necessary?"

"I am nothing if not traditional."

We passed through a swiveling glass door.

Edward set me down.

I caressed his chest as we shared a loving smile.

Stepping forward, I admired the tasteful decor of an expansive Living Room.

It's floor to ceiling windows to offer a view into the jungle outside.

"You want to take a look around?"

I faced Edward.

I gave a small nod, biting my lip.

As he stepped out, I faced the Living Room again and smiled appreciatively.

Carrying my high heels in my hand, I stepped into a stately room with a four poster bed at the center.

I caressed the white gausy curtains.

Looking up, I found Edward admiring me from a doorway.

He set down some of our luggage.

I smiled shyly at Edward.

I lowered my gaze.

Beaming, Edward carried the smaller bags to a table at the foot of the bed.

He sat them beside my heels.

I shifted nervously on my feet as Edward faced me.

"You tired?"

I pressed my lips together as he stepped closer.

I shook my head playfully.

We took each other's hands.

"Do you want to go for a swim?"

"Yeah, that sounds nice."

My gaze lowered, I nodded and licked my lips nervously.

As I looked up at Edward, he grinned at me.

"I could use a few human minutes."

I displayed a nervous smile.

He beamed warmly and planted a tender kiss on my forehead.

"Don't take too long, Mrs. Cullen."

I lowered my nervous gaze as Edward stepped away.

"Okay."

I watched him open a sliding glass door leading out onto the sandy beach.

Moonlight glistened on the blue water.

Edward untucked his shirt as he stepped out.

I unzipped my carry-on.

I brought it into the Bathroom.

I sat it down.

Planting my hands by the sink, I faced my reflection.

"Okay."

I flipped back the upper section of my bag, opening a compartment.

I squeezed toothpaste onto my toothbrush.

I brushed my teeth.

I bounced anxiously on my feet.

I drummed my fingers on the rim of the sink.

Taking my hairbrush from my bag, I ran it through my long dark hair.

I started to wash my hands.

I paused.

I pried off my Engagement ring and Wedding band and sat them aside.

I ran the Water over my arms.

I pressed my hands to my forehead.

I shaved my legs.

I was rummaging through my luggage.

I found a lacy black bra.

"Alice!"

Wrapped in a towel, I dug anxiously through my garments.

I pulled a racy sheer black teddy.

My hands curled into fists around the straps.

I dropped it back into the suitcase.

With my eyes closed, I sank to the floor and hunched over, resting my elbows on my knees.

I straightened abruptly.

I took several deep breaths.

"Don't be a coward."

Now on the beach, Edward's clothes ran rumpled on the sand.

I made my way over with the towel still wrapped around me.

A gentle breeze fluttered my hair as I gazed down at Edward's disregard clothing.

Shifting my eyes to my towel, I twitched a smile.

I set in a steady breath and let the towel drop to the sand.

I took a few steps towards the rippling Ocean.

I stared out at Edward.

He stood with his back to me in waist-high water, glimmering under a full moon.

I waded out to Edward, my eyes fixed on the pale light above.

As I reached his side, Edward wrapped his arm around my bare waist.

His gaze flickered over to me and he watched tenderly as I stared up at the moon.

"You're so beautiful."

Blinking, I lowered my thoughtful eyes from the sky.

I met Edward's intent gaze.

I reached across him and caressed his cheek.

I wrapped my arms around Edward's neck as he drew me close and kissed me.

Pulling away, he considered me his lips stuttering in an uncertain expression.

Edward smiled softly.

"I promised that we'd try. If this doesn't work..."

"I trust you."

He kissed me.

My body pressed to his, I tightened my arms around his neck.

Edward lifted me and nuzzled my shoulder.

His lips met mine again.

Now, I laid back in bed and Edward lowered himself on top.

We shared a grin than kiss.

As we make out passionately, my fingers trailed down his back.

He kissed my brow.

Propping himself up with an arm on either side of me, he shifted his body forward.

Edward clutched the window sill above my head with both hands, bracing himself as we make love.

The wood splintered in his tightening grip and the curtained canopy frame of the bed partially collapsed.

Edward halted.

"It's okay."

Caressing his face, I drew him closer.

I run a hand through his hair as we kissed.

We resumed.

Morning

I woke up to sunlight coming in.

A few downy feathers drifted down into my hair.

I gave a drowsy smile.

I knitted my brow as I spotted one of the curly feathers on a strand of my hair.

I picked it out with a dreamy look.

I let it fall from my fingers.

I sat up on my elbows.

The canopy bed frame was crooked and broken.

I slapped my hands on the bed covers and feathers swirl in the air.

I was in the Bathroom.

The mirror showed my reflection as I stood in front of it.

I was in a white robe.

I stared off as I remembered kissing Edward in bed, my fingers grazing along his neck.

Closing my eyes, I glided my fingers from my own throat to the back of my neck.

As I caressed it, I recalled fondling the back of his head as he rested on top of me.

My fingers played in Edward's hair.

I touched my lips and recalled Edward's kiss.

I opened my eyes.

"How badly are you hurt?"

The mirror showed Edward standing behind me.

"What?"

He shifted his jaw.

Edward lifted one of my sleeves, revealing bruises on my forearm.

I pulled the sleeve back down.

I faced him.

I rested a hand on Edward's chest.

"No, Bella, look."

He gathered my hair aside.

Edward slid the robe off my shoulder.

I saw a bruise.

I lowered my eyes to examine it.

"Bella, I can't tell you how sorry I am."

Looking at his reflection, I met his disheartened gaze.

As he strided away, I gave the bruise a frustrated look.

I yanked the robe back onto my shoulder.

I followed him into the bedroom.

"I am not. Really, I am not. I am fine."

"Don't say you're fine. Just don't."

"No, you don't."

He sat down.

"Don't ruin this."

"I've already ruined it."

I shook my head.

"Why can't you see how perfectly happy I am? Or was five seconds ago. I mean, now I am sort of pissed off, actually."

"You should be angry with me."

"I mean, we knew this was going to be tricky, right? I think we did amazing."

Edward avoided my gaze.

I searched his face.

"I mean, it was amazing for me."

"That's what you're worried about? That I didn't enjoy myself?"

Edward lifted his astonished eyes to mine.

"I know it's not the same for you... But for a human, I can't imagine that it gets any better than that."

He stood up but kept his gaze eye-level to me.

"Last night... Was the best night of my existence."

I gave a relieved look.

"You're the best."

I slung an arm around Edward's neck.

I twitched a smile.

I clutched the hair on the back of his head and pressed my lips to his.

As the kiss deepened, Edward gently pushed me away.

He half-smiled.

"You're not going to touch me again, are you?"

Edward caressed my cheek with his thumb.

I grabbed his hand.

"You know that's not what I mean."

"Let me make you Breakfast."

I blinked up at Edward dejectedly.

He headed away, pulling his hand from my grasp.

Edward and me were playing Chess.

We sit on either side of the couch with the board in between us.

I thoughtfully moved a chess piece.

Edward moved a piece.

I toppled my King and mocked an angry smile.

Later

I peeked into the Bedroom.

I walked into view wearing the camisole from Alice and matching lacy shorts.

Lounging in bed, Edward promptly took notice.

He sat up and smiled.

I stroke a sexy pose on the doorframe.

Edward grinned.

Crossing his arms, he buried his face in a pillow.

I cooly shifted my pose.

Next Day

We stood atop a Waterfall, which gushed down into Water.

Stepping to the edge, I gazed at the steep drop into the Water below.

I got on Edward's back.

I squeezed my eyes shut.

He jumped a superhuman distance.

We plunged into the Water.

We surfaced, gasping for breath.

Grinning, I reached out and Edward took me in his arms.

We kissed.

He pulled back, submerged, and instantly surfaced yards away.

I bobbed in the Water, admiring Edward.

He dived under again.

Another Day

We were sitting on a sundeck and playing Chess.

I had moved my King.

Edward knocked it over as he took its place with his Queen.

I glanced away.

I allowed a good-natured smile.

Another Day

On a jungle hike, I cleared a glade just in time to see Edward mischievously use his vampire speed to keep his generous lead.

Edward

Night

Bella flopped into bed in a lacy baby doll negligee that accentuates her cute butt.

I beamed at her.

I covered Bella with a sheet.

I kissed her head.

Bella

Dream

We were playing Chess on the beach.

I knocked Edward's knight over with her Queen.

I gave a smug smile.

"I win."

I swept the board aside.

I grabbed Edward.

As we kissed passionately, it came in blurs and flutters.

I awoke in bed.

A flash showed Edward and me on the beach again.

I blinked my sad eyes.

Edward stirred.

I laid on my side with my back to him.

Edward wrapped an arm around me.

"You having a nightmare?"

"No."

He withdrew his arm.

I rolled towards Edward slightly.

He propped himself up on one elbow, returning his hand to my hip.

"It was just a dream. It was a really good dream."

"Then why are you crying?"

"Because I wanted it to be real."

"Tell me."

Squeezing my eyes shut, I cradled the back of his neck and pulled him in.

I kissed him hungrily.

"Bella, I can't."

I blinked back tears.

"Please."

I drew him closer.

"Please."

As I clutched him desperately, Edward pressed his lips to mine.

Still kissing me, he rolled onto his back.

Edward pulled me on top of him.

He sat up with me straddling his lap and held me tightly.

I ran my fingers through his hair, my mouth locked to his in passionate kisses.

Jake

"Maybe they'll say she was in a car crash." I told Seth.

I sat on First Beach with Seth and Embry.

"Or tripped and fell off a cliff."

"Keep it in play! Keep it in play!"

Seth and Embry gave me a worried look.

"Come on!"

I watched Jared, Paul, and Sam kick a Soccer ball around.

"Come on! Come on!"

"At least I'll get one thing out of it."

I imagined attacking Edward.

"No, you won't." Sam scolded.

"Cullens are not a danger to the town or the tribe."

"Well, he's either going to kill her or change her. And the treaty says-"

"I say, Jacob. I say."

On his way back to the others, Sam glanced at Leah who now stood with us.

"You know, if you wanted things different, you should've become Alpha." Embry pointed out.

"Turning it down seemed like a good idea at the time."

"Jake, you really think you could kill Bella if she comes back a vampire?"

"No. He'd make one of us do it, then hold a grudge against us." Leah answered Seth.

"Shut up, Leah."

"Would you just get over it? It's not like you've imprinted on her."

I eyed the smiling couples in the Pack.

"At least they seem happy." Seth pointed out.

Leah wistfully gazed at Sam and Emily.

"Yeah, some people are just lucky, I guess." Embry stated.

"Lucky?"

Waves crashed before Quil and Claire.

"None of them belong to themselves anymore. And the sickest part is their genes tell them they're happy about it."

"Least if you imprinted on someone, you'd finally forget about Bella."

Leah watched Sam give Emily a loving kiss.

"I mean, being any kind of happy is better than being miserable... About someone you can't have."

She stared at the couple, her brow knitted in a pain expression.

I gazed off with solemn eyes.

Bella

Edward accompanied two people into the house.

It was a mustached man and a raven black haired woman.

I approached them.

"Bella, these are our housekeepers, Gustavo and Kaure. This is my Wife, Bella."

"Nice to meet you, Excuse me."

Gustavo bowed.

Kaure ryed me suspiciously.

"Well, I guess we just leave them to it." Edward told me.

Kaure

I followed Gustavo to the bedroom.

Opening the door, we stared in shock at the damage.

Bella

Edward and me were sitting on the couch.

'What was that all about?' I questioned, pulling a purple shirt on.

"She's afraid for you."

"Why?"

"Because I have you here all alone."

"You mean she knows about you?"

"She suspects. She's native Ticuna. They have legends about blood-drinking demons... Who prey on beautiful women."

Grinning, he kissed me.

Kaure watched us.

"Hey."

Gustavo passed and beckoned her approvingly.

As Edward stifled a smile, I stared after her with a bemused look.

Edward

Night

I stood at the foot of the end, gazing down at Bella who is sleeping diagonally across the mattress with one arm clutching a sheet.

I blinked reluctantly.

I strided through opened doors onto the beach.

Bella

Morning

I entered the Kitchen.

I found a note on the Kitchen Island.

It said

"I've gone to the mainland to hunt. Be back before you wake.

Edward."

"You're late."

I opened the Fridge.

Moving aside a jug of juice, I checked the containers behind it.

I took out a dish that contained chicken wrapped in butcher paper.

I dropped a jar of peanut butter and a Yogurt container into the dish as well.

Now, I was cooking Chicken on the stove using tongs to shift the pieces in the pot.

I grabbed a spoon that I had balanced across the peanut butter jar and sucked it.

Later

I sat at the Kitchen Island, with my plate of chicken.

Peeling a strip of meat off a drumstick, I ate intently.

My chewing slowed as I worked off another strip.

I gave a queasy look.

I returned my attention to the drumstick.

I furrowed my brow.

Racing into the Bathroom, I kneeled on the floor and vomited into the toilet.

Edward

I arrived.

I watched Bella from behind the slided door into the Bedroom.

Bella

"Bella?" It was Edward.

I pulled down the toilet seat cover.

"Hey, don't come in here."

He opened the door and walked in.

"You don't need to see this."

I sat on the toilet.

"In sickness and in health," remember?"

Edward squatted in front of me.

"It must have been the chicken."

We were both amused.

"Could you grab my bag?"

I gestured at my toiletry kit sitting on the counter by the sink.

Edward grabbed it and sat it on the floor at my feet.

As I pulled it closer, I looked inside.

My gaze fell on an unopened Tampons box nestled among travel sized bottles.

I sat up straight.

"What is it?"

I closed my eyes in a distressed look.

I stood up.

"How many days has it been since the Wedding?"

"Fourteen. Why?"

I adverted my thoughtful gaze.

"Will you tell me what's going on?"

"I am late."

Edward looked confused.

"My period. It's late."

On my way out of the Bathroom, I paused at a full length mirror.

Stepping closer, I eyed my reflection.

Edward watched gravely as I lifted my shirt.

I pressed a hand to my abdomen.

Turning sideways, I noticed the small swell of my stomach.

"That's impossible."

I looked to him.

"Can this happen?"

Edward gave a dazed look.

With my hand resting on my stomach, I turned from the mirror.

I shuddered.

"Whoa!"

I looked down at my belly.

As he stared off in shock, I retrieved his phone from his pants pocket.

I answered.

"Alice."

"Bella? Are you alright?"

"I am not 100 percent sure."

"Why? What's wrong? I just..."

"You just what? Alice, what did you see?"

"Here's Carlisle."

"Bella, what's going on?"

"I don't know. I am a little worried. Can vampires go into shock?"

"Has Edward been harmed?"

"No. I know that it's impossible. But I think that I am pregnant."

I felt something move inside of me again.

"Whoa!" I commented when I felt it.

Wincing excitedly, I glanced at my stomach.

"Carlisle, I swear, something just moved inside me."

Edward snatched his phone from me.

"Is this even possible?"

"I don't know."

"What's he saying?"

"The sooner Bella's here, the sooner we can find out what it is. I need you to get to the mainland at once."

"Yeah, yeah, I will."

He nodded, his eyes wide.

Edward lowered his phone.

"Well?"

Edward gave me a somber look.

Now, he flicks around the room in blurry bursts of speed, collecting our things and packing them.

Edward grabbed my toiletry case from the Bathroom.

"Damn it."

There was knocking on the door.

"Kaure's making sure you're still alive."

As he strided to the front door, I stared after him with a perplexed look.

I shifted my eyes, my brow creased uneasily.

Standing in the Bathroom doorway, I dropped my anguished gaze.

I returned to the Bathroom.

I lowered my eyes to my pregnant belly.

Facing the full length mirror, I pressed my trembling hands to my stomach.

I lifted my gaze to my reflection, my hand still touching my belly.

I stared thoughtfully at myself.

I took a deep breath.

I met my own gaze in the reflection.

A trace of a smile appeared.

Kaure's jaw dropped as she sees me.

"What did you do with her?"

"What do you know about this?"

"I know that you are a demon!"

She gave an anguished look.

"You killed this little girl!"

"What?"

"Her people have legends. She might have seen this before." He explained to me.

"Please. Tell me how to help her."

"You only do bad."

"I am begging you. I will do anything. I love her."

Kaure looked at me while I waited worriedly.

"Please. Tell me how she can survive this."

Kaure frowned as she considered him.

Under his desperate gaze, she gave him a resigned blink.

Kaure shifted her attention to me.

Edward stepped aside as she approached me.

I eyed Kaure worriedly.

Meeting her gaze, Kaure lifted her brow in a questioning look.

I nodded.

Kaure closed her eyes and pressed her hand to my stomach.

As she lifted her gaze to my face, I met her eyes uncertainly.

"Death."

Kaure stared at me.

I gently backed out of her grasp.

I shot Edward a frightened look.

He watched with hardened eyes.

Kaure left.

I gazed off, my fingers lightly resting on my belly.

"I am not going to let it hurt you."

He nodded at my stomach, his expression turning sour.

"Carlisle will get that thing out."

Edward grabbed my bags and strided out.

I watched him go, my lips parted and my brow still at uneasy.

I blinked anxiously.

"Thing?"

I took a step back, my fearful eyes staring in the direction of Edward's departure.
