Edward
Next Day
Bella laid motionless in Carlisle's medical room.
Alice shut her eyes.
She sponge-bathed her.
"She shouldn't be this still." I told Carlisle.
"It's the morphine."
Alice slid a blue dress on Bella.
"Maybe I was too late."
"No, Edward. Listen to her heart."
Rosalie brushed out her hair.
Alice folded her hands over her abdomen.
Alice wheeled a basin of bloody water away.
Rosalie caressed Bella's hair.
She retrieved a brush on her way out.
Her Engagement ring sparkled on her right ring finger.
Alice looked to Jasper.
Emmet and Rosalie traded a look.
Carlisle held Esme's shoulder and stared solemnly.
Standing apart, Jacob.
I gazed intensely as Bella laid motionless in her new form.
Transfixed, I stepped towards Bella.
Her eyes opened, red crimson.
Bella
My eyes looked around the room rapidly.
I noticed dust mites dancing in the air, condensation on a vase, the word "Ever" in a poem, and the rough texture of the wood.
I focused on Edward framed by French windows and backlit with sunlight.
He reached out tentatively.
I raised my hand to see an oval ring with sparking diamonds.
I placed my hand in his.
And then up his arm.
As he rubbed my shoulder and caressed my face.
I turned my face into his palm.
I looked up at hm.
Edward was wearing a white button-up shirt.
He looked into my eyes.
"So beautiful."
A smile played across his face as I looked up at him with my now crimson eyes.
"We're the same temperature now."
Hand-in-hand, we faced our reflections in a full length mirror.
Edward watched me as I was wearing a cobalt blue dress.
As I turned to face him, I reached up and pulled him into a strong embrace.
He grunted.
"Hey, Bella, you're a lot stronger than I am right now."
I held him close.
I released my grasp and pulled back.
He grunted.
"It's your turn not to break me."
He grunted as I pinched his thigh.
"I love you."
"I love you." He told me.
We kissed passionately, our bodies leaning into each other.
"Renesmee."
Edward chuckled.
"She's incredible."
"Where is she? I have to see her."
"Wait. Wait. You need to get your thirst under control."
I grasped my throat.
"Yeah. You'll need to hunt."
