The moment Luna left Dawn Island; she told her grandfather that she needs to see Shanks. Garp granted her wish, not having the heart to deny her meeting someone she idolizes and sees as an older brother.

The trip took a few days and Luna saw her big brother figure after eleven years. He certainly was not expecting to see her soon, when she still didn't make a s name for herself yet. While Luna normally would have laughed at the faces they made, (she won't lie, she did let out a giggle, but it didn't last for long) she was here for a serious matter.

After greeting the crew, she engulfed Shanks in a hug, and lifted him up slightly. The red-haired captain let out a squawk in surprise. Garp and the watching pirates let out laughs at the sight of a pirate Captain being lifted up by a teenager.

Luna giggled slightly, before bringing him down to the ground. Shanks let out a sigh of relief, and had a slight blush of embarrassment. "Damn Anchor, how strong did you get."

Luna's smile dropped, and she got serious. "Not strong enough."

The shift in Luna's mood gave the pirates a whiplash, whilst Garp had calmed down his laughter at the comment. Shanks looked into Luna's eyes, and she started to fidget with hi- hers. Not his, but hers. Her straw-hat.

"Come here, Anchor." Shanks laid his arm around her shoulder, "Your big brother wants to catch up with you."

Luna shouted out an "I'll be back!" To her grandfather while she was being guided to the captain's quarters. Now, if Luna wasn't basically family, Shanks would have settled down on he's chair and offered Luna a seat. But instead, he pulled her towards one of the couches. With the pair settled down, Luna took the hat off and gave it to Shanks.

"I want you to hold into our promise for a few years."

Shanks lifted an eyebrow in question. Luna reached for her vest to pull out a letter.

"Remember Ann and Sabrina?" Luna asked.

"How can I not?" Shanks chuckled.

Over the years, Luna kept in contact with Shanks over calls, and had introduced Ann, and later on Sabrina. But she had not told him an important detail.

Luna handed him the letter from the government. She watched as any amusement he previously had melted of his face. His lips were set into a grim line, as he kept on rereading the letter, until her reached his third time and closed his eyes and let out a sigh.

"Who exactly are your sisters that government is threatening to kill them?"

"Portgas D. Ann," Shanks' breath hitched, eyes going wide. "Her real name is Gol D. Ann."

Shanks stared in shock at Luna. Did his baby sister just tell him that his captain had sired a child, a daughter with Lady Rouge? This can explain why the government is after Ann, but why Sabrina too? And what will be the use of having Luna working for them? They could just give orders to kill the three girls and get it over with.

Shanks frowned as he went through reasons that explain the Five Elders course of action. What if they thought that having Luna by their side will bring them an advantage? Maybe they thought that by having Luna, her sisters could join the marines in the future? No, if they wished for all sisters to join, they wouldn't have had to forbid Luna from getting in contact with them. They also forbade her from explaining why she's joining the navy. Not like she would, Luna wouldn't want to burden her sisters with the knowledge that she basically sold her freedom for them. If they forbade Luna from explaining herself, that means she left Ann and Sabrina on odd terms. Could those cause hatred? Does the government aim to make Ann and Sabrina hate their sister and for them to try and kill her in the future? Shanks doubted that the two girls will hate Luna, maybe they're feeling angry and betrayed, but they won't try to kill Luna, which he is sure of. Then maybe the government is trying to make Luna hate her sisters due to them being the reason for her not being able to become a pirate like she wishes to? This could be a good reason, and if Luna was anyone else, then it will probably work. But it's Luna, and she would not hate her sisters for such reason, but the Five Elders don't know that.

All of this thinking is giving him a headache. He closed his eyes and sighed in frustration. He them looked to Luna, who the whole time was looking at him.

"Why is Sabrina in danger too? Other than her being raised with Ann that is."

"Sab is a runaway princess, engaged to the prince of Goa Kingdom, and he was a descended of the Celestial Dragons, or something of that sort." Luna explained. "Her parents have been searching for her, issuing an order that she is to be brought back for her marriage with the prince, you know how politics works. But if they found out how she was raised, and with whom, then they will order for her to be killed as she has been 'tainted'."

Shanks laughed, "Your family is never going to be normal. The daughter of the late pirate king, a runaway princess and you, who will one day, become the new pirate king... Speaking of. What did you mean that you want me to hold into our promise? This deal will only be temporary, the government won't keep their promise for long and then you can break free."

"I know," Luna started, "But it's not guaranteed that I would be alive by then."

"Anchor!" Shanks scolded, only for Luna to shake her head.

"Please! Shanks! I need you to take the hat. If I was to die, then it can get destroyed, I can't let it be destroyed..." Luna said, "I don't wish to die, I want to fulfil my dream. But I'm also willing to throw my life for Ann and Sab. No one will touch them as long as I am alive."

Shanks was heartbroken. Luna had grown up so much over the years. She is no longer that girl who was defenceless. But that doesn't change that she is still his baby sister and he will do all that he can to aid her.

"Alright, I'll keep our promise with me. But you better come back alive. If I hear any sign or tale of you dying, expect a war to happen, 'cause I sure am not letting you give up on your dream before you even pursued it."

Luna smiled brightly at Shanks, reminding him of the old days. But unlike the old days, Luna wasn't a cry-baby anymore. As she had not shed a single tear since they began this conversation.

"Shishishi!" She let out a laugh, "Thanks, Nii-chan!"

"Your welcome Anchor," just then he looked at a clock to see it hitting midnight. "And happy birthday Luna."
