"ANN!!"
Ann stared in shock at her sister. Her stupid idiotic sister.
"Sabrina!! What are you doing here, you idiot?!"
And that was the question that most marines wanted to know the answer to.
Sabrina grinned in relief; her sister is still alive. She can still be saved. "Ann! I came to save you!"
Ann eyes started tearing up, frustration and worry building up in her. "No! Get out of here! You should not be here!"
Sabrina's relieved smile fell off her face and instead got replaced by a scowl, "Oh hell no! If I'm not supposed to be here, then you aren't either!"
"Goddamn it, Sabrina! You stupid ass! Get out of here!"
"Not without you!"
Everyone just stared at the shouting match between the sisters. The whitebeards usually found these arguments funny but right now isn't the best situation for one of these matches.
Sabrina turned around when she sensed Crocodile leaving her side, ignoring Ann for the moment. When she saw him going after Whitebeard, she rushes after.
She could faintly hear Jimbe shouting to Sengoku that he resigns as she caught up with Crocodile and intercepted his attack on Whitebeard.
Crocodile looked down at the pipe that Sabrina uses as her weapon. It was coated in Armament haki.
He scowled and jumped away from her, "Why are you protecting Whitebeard?"
Sabrina stood up straight and put a hand on her hip while the other hand twirled her pipe. "Isn't it obvious? He's my sister's father, of course I'd protect him."
Crocodile doesn't like her attitude, it reminded him too much of Monkey D. Luna. It was then that a group of pirates surrounded him to stop him from attacking Whitebeard again.
Sabrina turned towards the emperor. Whiteboard grinned down at the young woman, "So, you came."
"Of course, I would!" Sabrina huffed in indignation, "Ann is my sister! I couldn't just leave her to die!"
Before Whitebeard could speak, Sabrina turned around, grumbling beneath her breath about stupid sisters and their bull-headed attitude (Whitebeard knew not to say that she was being a hypocrite) when she suddenly stopped.
She whirled around, "Oh yeah! Before I forget! On the way here, the marine ship got a message about how they're going to move the schedule for the execution forward."
Whitebeard nodded at the useful information that she passed to him, "Thank you. This is actually important. I'll make sure to pass it to my commanders. If you run into any, would you pass it on too?"
Sabrina grinned at him, "Sure! Now then, I should go and save that idiot."
"Gurararara!" Whitebeard laughed at her. He really wished to meet the person that raised those two girls, from all the stories told, their older sister is even more spunky than them.
"Everyone! Make sure to backup Sabrina and clear a path for her!"
X
Garp sighed in exhaustion as he said down besides Ann. His granddaughter glanced at him in worry.
She was scared for her sister, he knew that, and he was scared for her too. For both of them. But he also knew that they will get out of here alive. Luna will not allow them to die.
All that he has to do is wait for Luna now.
Ann moved her gaze from him towards Sabrina who was fighting the marines to get to her.
She grits her teeth as she watched her sister get nicked by swordsmen when she dodged too late.
She couldn't just keep watching this. She wanted to help! But she couldn't. She was the cause to this.
"Stay away, Sabrina!" Ann yelled.
While it hadn't worked the first time, she will try to convince Sabrina to leave. She shouldn't be here.
"Sabrina! You remember our promise!"
Maybe bringing up their promises to Luna would help.
"We would both sail the sea as we like, and that's what we did! I have my own adventures and friends and you have your own! So, stay away from them!"
If she made a heartless comment, would it help? No, probably would just make Sabrina mad. But maybe she would get mad at her and leave.
Ann was just grasping at straws right now.
"Someone like you wants to save me? Don't make me laugh!"
Why was she here?
Why couldn't she just stay away?
Why did she have to come?
"Go back, Sabrina! Why did you come here?"
Sabrina took in a deep breath to answer back.
"You are my big sister, you asshole! I came for you!"
"SISTER?!"
The marines were shocked.
Did Gold Roger have another child? But that shouldn't be possible! Ann's birth was a miracle by itself. How is there another child of Roger?
Those were the questions swimming in the minds of the marines, and the ones being called out loud.
"Sabrina is the Chief of staff in the revolutionary army! She's considered as the second strongest in the organisation and needs to be brought down as well! She grew up with Ann as adoptive sisters, but she is a runaway princess wanted to be dead by the Celestial Dragons!"
X
Trafalgar Law stared in shock at Sabrina from his position.
He never got to know why she was researching his two years ago. Even after all their meetings, he never knew that she is a revolutionary army member. The second in command as well!
A runaway princess wanted dead by the Celestial Dragons is the second in command of the Revolutionary army. And is the adoptive sister of Portgas D. Ann, another of the D. Clan.
Oh well, this didn't make him like her any less, in fact, it made her more attractive to him.
Shit. He's down bad.
(He can hear Luna laughing at him. Ever since his crew met her and she gained their trust, Penguin and Shachi informed her everything. And she, obviously, found the whole situation amusing.)
Wait.
If Sabrina is wanted dead by the Celestial Dragons and Ann by the world government, then why were they both under the protection of the world government for so long?
Law frowned as he thought of any reasons. But he couldn't reach any that made sense.
What exactly is going on?
X
Smoker stared at the sister of his lover.
Sabrina was still running and fighting. He stayed away from her path, not willing to stop her. Tashigi stayed near him, she wasn't going to stop the blond sister either.
Ann is a pirate. Smoker knew it will be hard to be in a relationship with her. And he tried so many times to end it. But it's Ann. That stubborn, beautiful, fierce and protective girl.
Smoker just fell deeper and deeper with each instance. Each meeting. Each call. Each newspaper about her. All of that just made him fall for her more.
But she was a pirate.
And he was a marine.
He can't help her. Can't rescue her.
But that doesn't mean he won't let Sabrina go and be the one to rescue Ann.
"Tashigi." He called out, making sure that Tashigi is the only one who would hear him, he doesn't want anyone to think of him and Tashigi as traitors. "Don't get in Sabrina's way."
"I know, sir." Tashigi replied, she also knew to stay away. Her loyalties were for Smoker, and not the world government.
And really, Ann is someone who doesn't deserve this in Tashigi's view. Even with her being the pirate king's daughter. What does her father have to do with this?
"This doesn't make sense," Smoker thought out.
"What doesn't, sir? That they wanna kill Ann just for her father or that the Chief of staff is a runaway princess?" Tashigi asked.
"Them wanting Ann dead is to wipe off the existence of Gold Roger, they probably want to get rid of the person who reached raftel and their descendants. It's a shitty reason, but the only one that make sense with the world government."
"And Sabrina probably ran way because of corruption and wanted to make a change, which is why she joined the revolutionary army." Tashigi continued.
"You know, leaving the navy doesn't seem like a bad idea after seeing all of this..." Smoker muttered under his breath, "But what I actually meant was why Ann and Sabrina were under the world government's protection when they wanted them dead."
"Huh," Tashigi frowned, "Yeah, this doesn't make sense."
"Something else is happening or has happened that we are not aware of." Smoker said.
X
Sabrina grinned as she gazed down into her hand. Hancock is really the best!
Sabrina was distracted by a group of marines that had surrounded her. They weren't strong alone, but with them teaming up, she couldn't defeat them. When she's close to one, another would attack her back.
It was getting annoying. It was wasting her time.
And Hancock was the one who helped her.
"Is it not dangerous for you to help me in front of everyone?" Sabrina spoke as low as she can while still allowing Hancock to hear.
Hancock flashed her a smirk and replied for her to play along.
And Sabrina did. She dodged kicks. And Hancock dodged the swinging of her pipe.
Sabrina noticed how none of the marines even questioned Hancock attacking marines. She heard their whispers of "The empress attacking them because they're men." Ah, so that's why they're not thinking that she's betraying them.
It was while Sabrina got close to Hancock to fake another attack that Hancock slipped something into her pocket and whispered, "Hit me and run away."
Sabrina didn't know what it is that Hancock gave her, but she's not even going to question her.
Sabrina hit her as ordered, making sure it doesn't hurt as much as it looks it will and runs away.
With her at a safe distance, she fished out whatever it was in her pocket to see a key.
Hancock slipped her a key.
Most likely the key to Ann's handcuffs.
Oh, she owes the warlord even more now.
X
Buggy switched on the Den Den mushi that was used to record the war going on. Once all the chaos had started, Sengoku had ordered for all the snails to be stopped.
But Buggy was able to get his hands on one. And he will show the world the truth. Because Luna is going to appear soon, and when she does, the truth is going to be revealed.
And the whole world will see the truth behind the Fenrir. They will see the horror that the world government is creating.
This will ruin the trust the world had in the government.
But if Buggy started talking about his greatness until then, it's of nobody's business.
X
Sabrina fell when she was avoiding a swinging sword in her direction.
While another pirate came for her rescue, blocking the sword from slicing her, she noticed that she had dropped the key.
Shit. Shit. Shit.
She hurriedly looked around, searching for the key.
She can't lose it.
She shouldn't have lost it.
Stupid Sabrina. Ann is going to die at this rate!
She stood as quickly as she can, ignoring the pain from her ankle that she might twisted from her fall.
Sabrina ran, searching for where the key could have landed.
"I have to find it."
She caught sight of something glinting on the ground, she harried there only to find a piece of metal, from a broken sword probably.
She clutched her fists in anger, wincing a bit when the metal piece cut into her palm.
Goddamn it! It's not here!
She ran again, not noticing someone she passed by and what that person had muttered under their breath.
But what she did notice that the metal piece that was with her was no more. Instead, the key she was searching for was there.
Sabrina whirled around, seeing Law not too far away from her. He wasn't looking at her, but at the fights happening. But Sabrina noticed that he was holding something between his fingers.
A metal piece that was covered by blood.
The metal piece that was covered by her blood.
And the only logical and hopeful thought that came to her was that Law had switched the broken metal with the key.
She grinned to herself. She was so going to kiss him after this war.
But now isn't the time for these thoughts.
Right now, she has an idiot sister to rescue.
X
There were multiple tries on killing Ann. And each try ended in a failure.
One of them being stopped by Crocodile. The man had attacked the executioners and thus, saving Ann's life.
Ann didn't know why he saved her when not long ago he tried killing her captain. But she didn't bother giving it much thought.
Sabrina was just grateful that her sister is still alive.
Other tries were stopped by pirates shooting at marines.
It was the last attempt that had many confused and shocked.
As the blades of the executions were nearing Ann's neck, the girl had closed her eyes in defeat, expecting death to greet her.
Sabrina shouted in desperation for her sister, thoughts all around, praying and hoping against all odds that a miracle will safe her sister.
All the pirate were in a panicked frenzy. Shouting and crying.
And then when Whitebeard, seeing that one of his children about to die, was about to release his conquerors haki to knock out the executioners.
Only, for another's conquerors haki to hit, knocking out the executioners and many marines, while allowing Ann to live.
Everyone stared in shock.
The haki that was released was strong, it could have been capable to knocking more people, but it was controlled to not affect the pirates and the escaped prisoners negatively. And for such a strong haki to be controlled, meant that the person behind this attack is powerful.
But who?
After a few moments on the shock, people starting snapping out of their stupors, pushing on to continue fighting, to reach Ann.
Whitebeard narrowed his eyes, thinking of who could have been the person helping and why.
But that didn't matter right now, did it? This person aided them for who knows why, and for now, Whitebeard felt thankful.
X
Ann's eyes widened.
This haki... Could it be?
Looking at Sabrina, who was still frozen her place. The blond met Ann's gaze, and she could see that Sabrina seemed to be thinking the same thing.
This haki was familiar to both of them. They have been exposed to it many times as kids, heck, Sabrina had witnessed its first release when she first met her older sister! But it's been years since then. So, what if they are wrong? After all, she isn't here.
Ann used her observation haki, and she couldn't feel Luna nearby. So, it couldn't be her, since it shouldn't be possible for conquerors haki to reach over distances.
Right?
X
Garp had mixed feelings about this war.
On one hand, as a marine officer, it is his duty to put an end to criminals. On the other hand, the criminals in question right now are two of his granddaughters and pirates fighting to protect them.
It has put him in a difficult situation.
His duty or his family?
Neither, he won't participate in this war.
Because he isn't worried for the safety of Ann and Sabrina. His two granddaughters will get out of marine ford alive.
And the reason?
Because Luna won't stay quiet.
And this is the actual reason of his mixed feelings.
Luna is finally going to break free from the government. She will quit the navy. She will be free. And this brings him joy.
But the reason Luna is going to leave because the government went back on their deal and hurt her sisters. And this makes him angry.
And yet again, he can not wait for her to arrive.
Because, once she gets here (because she will, that was his eldest granddaughter's haki just now and this means that she's getting close), Luna will show those damn bastards what a big mistake they made.
X
Smoker sighed in relief, Tashigi slumping against him once she relaxed.
Ann is still alive.
Smoker inhaled his cigarette and blowed smoke. He recognised who the haki had belonged to.
Seems like he owes Luna big time now.
X
Law felt a smirk grew on his face again. It had disappeared for the majority when he kept watching Sabrina get injured again and again.
But now, seeing her seem more hopeful, more determined, he can't help but be glad to see the determination shinning in her eyes.
Yes, this is how she's supposed to look.
Well, looks like Law can't get angry at Luna next time he sees her. Because if weren't for her haki, then Firefist would have high likely been killed and Sabrina would lose that shine in her eyes.
(He knew that Whitebeard could have used conquerors too, but he saw that Akainu was about to attack the emperor before Luna's haki hit them, making Akainu stop in his tracks. So, if Luna didn't use her haki, then Akainu would have attacked and Whitebeard would have been distracted by the red mutt to use his conquerors to same Firefist.)
X
Marco grinned, kicking away some of the still awake pirates, opening way for Sabrina, who now snapped out of her daze.
That was Luna's haki, that he was certain of.
His girlfriend really is amazing.
She might not be here, Marco had not sensed her when they arrived, (she was probably sent on a mission so that she won't interfere. Marco knew she would be against this, Luna isn't the kind of person to care about blood, so the government probably wanted her away so that she won't step in) but she still helped.
For some reason now, he felt more confident. As if reassured that everything will turn out well.
He hopes this feeling ends up being right.
X
She's almost there.
The grin usually present on her face had fallen once those damn executioners almost killed Ann.
It wasn't the first attempt, but there was no one to stop it this time, so she had to interfere.
For now, Ann is alive.
And from what the sea told her; Sabrina will reach Ann soon.
She will free Ann and try to escape.
And the that Bastard Akainu will attack, and that's when she should interrupt.
"Franky! Use a Coup de Burst! We need to get there soon!" She ordered.
"Right away, Lu-sis!" The cyborg gave a short salute, shouting out a warning to the rest to hold tight into something.
The captain grinned at her shipwright, holding tight into the railing as the ship soared through the sky.
They're nearing.
Luna could feel her sisters' presence. She will be able to see them.
Soon.
X
Sabrina laughed alongside Ann once she managed to get the handcuffs off her sister.
When Sabrina had almost reached Ann, her grandfather had got in her way. No matter what she said, he wouldn't get aside, with no choice she had to hit him, and he fell without resistance. Sabrina knew Garp is stronger than her, he could have gotten up, but this seemed to be his way of helping them.
And when she did reach Ann, Sengoku had interfered, causing her to lose the key. She felt angry and guilty, both Hancock and Law helped her to get the key, only for her to lose it like this. But then one of the prison escapees, the one made of wax, Mr. 3, if Sabrina remembers well, made a key from wax and threw it at the blond sister to free Ann.
And now, Ann had burst into flames, shooting off the fire and formed the whitebeard symbol above them.
Sabrina was grinning at Ann's display, relief filling her and she could feel her adrenaline escaping her.
Shit.
"Ann! Come on! I don't think I can keep going on for longer!"
Ann snapped her head towards Sabrina and nodded, "Alright! Let's get out of this shithole!"
Their allies' shouts were loud.
"Ann is free!"
"We need to get out here now!"
"Retreat! Men! Retreat!"
Ann turned her head towards the direction of the last statement, "Oi! There are women here too!"
Sabrina felt exasperated, but she couldn't help the laugh that escaped her. Coating her fist in a light layer of armament haki, she hit Ann on the back of her head. "This isn't the time for this!"
"Ouch! The hell, Sabrina? What was that for?" Ann rubbed the back of her head.
"Ann!" Sabrina hissed.
"Okay, okay!" Ann grumbled, "Jeez..."
X
"You free Firefist, then turn tail and run, eh? The Whitebeard pirates are a pack of cowards. But considering who your leader is that's no surprise! Whitebeard is a loser from a bygone era!"
The words spoken by Akainu made Ann stop running. She whirled around, the previous grin upturn into a ferocious scowl.
"A loser? You dare call Oyaji a loser? A coward? Take that back! Take back what you just said!!" She glared at the admiral.
"Ann!" Sabrina yelled, also stopping, which was a bad decision. She was already tired; she barely could run but had kept pushing herself to. Now that she stopped, she feels like collapsing.
"Goddamn it, Ann! Keep running, you idiot!" Another from the pirates shouted, but Ann ignored them, too angry to listen.
"Your real father, Gold Roger, stood in his way ... Making him an eternal loser who could never become the king! That's who Whitebeard is! I am only speaking the truth!" Akainu smirked, pleased that the girl fell for his provocation. "You pirates call him "Oyaji"? You "love him"? Putting on a farce of one big happy family."
Ann clinched her fist, nerves throbbing and slowly losing control of her flames.
"Roaming around for decades without becoming a king or anything! In the end, only for him to get hurt by his idiotic "son" that believe some cheap lies! And giving his life to protect a bunch of worthless people! Now, that's the emptiest life ever!"
"Ann! Don't listen to him! He's just trying to provoke you! Run!" Izou shouted, begging that her ship sister would just run and leave this bastard and his ploys.
"Oyaji..." Ann began, "Oyaji gave us a place to belong! A heartless man like you could never understand his greatness!!"
Akainu scoffed, "Humans that don't walk the right path have no value! You pirates don't deserve a place in the world!"
And then what he said next was the last straw. "And Whitebeard is a failure about to die! A suiting end for a scum!"
"Whitebeard is the one who opened the pirate era! Don't you dare insult our saviour!" Ann exclaimed, moving, raising her fist as she charged forward.
"The name if this era..." Fist turned into fire, going to use her signature attack, "Is Whitebeard!!"
But she was too angry. Too angry to think. Her anger fogged her mind. Because she is only fire. And he is magma.
And magma is stronger than fire. So, her arm got burned. If only her mind wasn't fogged by anger. If she was able to think clearly, she would have thought of using armament haki to attack.
"Ann!" The worried yells of her name by her sister and her crew were loud.
Sabrina stumbled, exhaustion finally winning, and she feel to her knees and hands. Any attempts of her trying to get up only resulted in her falling again. But no one noticed her weakened state as all attention was focused on Ann.
All but Akainu. That man having an ugly grin grow on his face. He will take advantage of the situation. No one noticed the falling of the runaway princess. And by time if his attack being noticed, it would be too late for anyone to save her.
And Akainu will get rid of her. He jumped towards the fallen blond, magma fist raised and ready for the attack.
And just like he thought, the others noticed too late.
Ann shouting out in horror as he headed towards Sabrina. She tried to get there for help. Helplessly shouting for Sabrina to run.
But Sabrina couldn't. Her body couldn't move.
So, all she could do is stare at the magma fist nearing her in horror.
Only for a figure to get in between. An armament haki covered fist stopping the magma attack. It was a huge fist, seeming like air was blown into it for it to be that big whilst attached to a thin arm.
The arm belonging to someone that neither Ann or Sabrina met for a long time.
Everyone stared in shock at the appearance of this person.
Akainu scowled, "Fenrir." He growled, removing his fist after a few moments of seeing that she won't be removing her own.
Monkey D. Luna stood there. Infront of Sabrina.
"Phew! Got here just in time!" Luna grinned, but those who know her can see that it is strained. "I hope I didn't miss much."
