A/N: Wow! That is me in AO3! Thanks! I'm glad you like my work!
I'm on quite a few fanfiction sites. So far, I'm on Wattpad (and ElvenQueenLibrary, I just found you on Wattpad!), I'm on Quotev (username is Madya), and I'm on AO3.
Rainy lol I know, it was SOO sweet hat last moment. It felt mushy, but, like the perfect type and amount of mushyness (is that makes sense?)
"Um, now what?" Kalmar asked quietly once the family had made it out of the room.
Artham shrugged. "I guess we should work on getting out of the castle."
And that's what they did.
After walking for a looooooong time through the many halls of Castle Rysen, they finally made it to one of the small doors that led out of the castle.
For times such as when the King would want to leave the castle unnoticed, stoneworkers had made special doors that the King could travel through. The doors were hardly noticed, making it good for escaping.
Considering that was what the family was trying to do, those doors providing exactly what they needed.
The family traveled through the hills of Anniera, before they make it to Cragstown, a small town incamped in the mountains of Anniera. It was hardly ever noticed, but the royal family traveled there often. They would go on 'get-aways' there, since the town had a small flow of traffic from other towns. The people there were very self-sufficient, growing their own crops and farms.
The family camped in the fields of Anniera, as they traveled to the town. They hoped that some of the Annierans would have known to flee there, if they ever had the chance to flee.
In the morning, Kalmar was the first to spot Cragstown. "Uncle Artham! I think I found it!"
"Found what?" Artham asked, packing up his and Arundelle's tent.
"Cragstown!"
Artham paused, then quickly scrambled to Kal. He squinted, trying to see it. He looked om for a few more moments before he let out a whoop of joy. "Kal found it! He really found it!"
I should probably explain to you why the family decided to head to Cragstown.
Artham thought that it would be a safe haven for them, since it was a small town, very well-hidden. And since Janner was still hurt, he would need plenty of rest, and food. Also, the family would have time to regroup, and scout along the sea, to get an estimate of how many Fangs they were dealing with. Not to mention, if any Annierans survived, they could begin to fight back against the Fangs.
That was why Cragstown was the best option.
"We should hurry, and get there." Nia said.
"I agree. Kal, hurry and help pack!" Artham said, beginning to take down the rest of the tents.
Once everything was packed up, the family began to hurry and quickly as they could (they had a limping Janner, after all) to Cragstown. In only about an hour, they made it!
The local Annierans welcomed them with open arms. Apparently the Fangs hadn't noticed the town, and a great deal of the Annierans from other towns hid there. A large amount of the Annieran soldiers were there too, having made it out in time to flee. They were very greatful to have their leaders back.
