One World: Many Souls

Chapter 7: Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

Frisk's Point of View:

You are a total and utter idiot Frisk...How in hell could you do that to your friends? They just care about you and you've been nothing more than a pathetic insult to who you used to be!

The very reason for the aggressive thoughts running rampant through my mind was due to being a bitch and hurting the very feelings of the close friend I had. MK normally had tough skin, but even I had pushed him to the brink of both physically attacking with his new arms or his tongue. Sophia and Jay were holding him back while I took off like a wimp.

We'd gotten into one of our normal spats that ended up turning uglier due to some things that had changed. I know I had as of late, but so had the others. We all were starting to bloom out into new fields and make new friends. Being in the music class and club, I was often with a few new friends I had in those areas rather than my older ones.

That included my new friend Luke.

Luke had been a part of the new friend group I made over in the band. He played the drums, and rocked at playing a beat. It went incredibly well when I played violin and I could slowly dance around to the music we made. It was one of the few times I... felt at peace with all the shit going on.

With me growing up, with Papy dating that tin can of all things, and Sans and Angel hardly around when they used to smother me... it was lonely. I only had my friends at school really to talk to about my frustrations, and Luke was really good at listening to all the issues I had. And of course, I listened to him too! He talked about his parents being away for the army and his brother watching him while going to college. He was lonely as well...

He was going through his own issues and with no one home, he had to do a lot himself! Just like me when no one was home!

Luke and I were spending a bit more time together, and I tried to get my friends together with him and try to introduce him. I knew he was a human and they probably were worried about that, but there was nothing to fear! Luke was a considerate guy who was just trying to be friendly! Even I could tell that!

Why couldn't they?

None of them understood how alone and outsider like he felt. He was just a teen like any of us who had things rough. I didn't understand why they weren't giving him a chance of all things and why was I the only one doing so? I never gave new people a chance! I was meaner than all of them but it was like they were all hating on him!

I got into a fight with MK about that. He was saying that there was something wrong with him! That he was doing something to me! No, he wasn't! He was just trying to being a good friend! There was nothing wrong with that!

"Hey there Frisky," In the midst of my stopping off, I didn't notice that I had made my way to the normal park where sometimes Luke and I would practice. A few of his other friends would watch or so would the kids nearby. However, that day was not one of those days. The male watched me with a bright smile, but it faded the second he got a good look at my miserable face. "Whoa… sorry, looks like you're having a rough time there."

"Sorry Luke," I sighed and turned away, not wanting him to see me looking so terrible. "It's... been a day..."

"I can see that." I felt gentle fingers set over my skin as he approached me, sitting down beside me on the rock I camped on. "Wanna talk about it?"

That made me sour. I really didn't. I knew it would make him upset. He was trying so hard with the others; I still couldn't believe that they wouldn't give him a chance? Why was it only me?

Should I be concerned about that?

No way! I know I shouldn't!

He sighed, watching me struggle. "Is it about me again?"

I lowered my head away in shame...

"Damn it. I know it's been a month or so already, you think they'd ease up on some of the hostility." With a sigh, Luke gave a bit of a side arm hug to me. "But it looks like that's not going to be the case, so fuck it, I guess."

"I'm sorry..."

"Don't be, if they don't like me, then why bother anymore?" With a shrug, he hurried to his feet and gave my arm a tug. "Come on, let me get you out of the sun."

Tilting my head at his suggestion, I allowed him to pull me along. Luke gives me this wild smirk before he pulls me away from the park we always spend time at. I vaguely knew the streets he was pulling me down as going in the opposite direction to the school and home. While I was slightly nervous at what he was doing, I was also excited.

Luke had never done this before. I wondered what kind of secret or special thing he wanted to show me?

Soon enough, the male led me to a home. It was a small house that looked no more than a one and a half story. It was a soft grey color with a few lovely flower plants out front that looked well cared for. Bright pinks and reds stood out against the pale colored home that was very wide. Luke led me to the dark blue door itself and opened it with a key in his hands.

Inside the home was soft walls of an off white color that I could quickly see scratches and dings from wear and tear. A mud room of sorts was where we landed where I saw Luke pull of his shoes, much like my own home. Kicking them off by where a box of outdoor balls were set, covered in a thick set of dirt, he led me quickly over to where a kitchen was to the side. Older appliances lined the walls when I looked around and saw a single note left on the counter.

It must have been one from his brother...

Luke took once glance at it before he smirked and crumpled it in his hands, shoving the object into his pocket. He then hurried to grab a couple of snacks down from the cupboard, some chips and what not that I'd seen him eat before and even some that I liked. He did the same with soda bottles that he held in his arms before motioning me to follow him away from the kitchen.

I cautiously followed after the male to where he opened a trap door in the hallway. There was a thick rope attached to the door along with a sign made out of wood that said "Luke's Space, Stay Out". He pulled down on the line and a make shift set of stairs appeared. Luke rushed up and disappeared into the space while I waited at the base, a bit baffled by it all as I heard the shifting of objects around upstairs.

Moments later, my friend came back to me. "Come on up. Sorry for the mess, Frisky."

He held out a hand to help me up. I pulled on him and he yanked me up into the dark space. Once inside, I noticed that there was a fairly large area under the lowered roofline. Smaller furniture was stuck closer to the lowered ceilings where I could see dressers and a bureau were placed. Instead of a bed in the area, there was a hammock that was hung from the two heavy pillars that were in the middle of the room. I could see it was covered in a large pillows and blankets in a mess. In the center of the room was a small coffee table that was settled before the decent sized TV as well as video game consoles that were set before it. A massive stack of games was piled high on either side before the set up.

Luke had set up the food and drink items on the table before setting himself down at the table. I cautiously set beside him and he continued to show me a blinding smile, even in the dim lighting that was only brought on by a single window and a small lamp turned on.

"Welcome to my home and my secret abode."

Letting out a breath, I took another look around the room before settling my eyes back on my new friend. The smile of his dimmed only a little bit with a softness due to the situation. He rubbed the back of his head nervously.

"Sorry Frisky, was this too soon?"

"Wh-no!" My hands flew to my mouth and my knee hit the table in my rushed movement. I cried out and hissed in pain, surprised by how I felt the pain.

Wait, I felt pain? But I was always covered in chains with my magic? How in the world was I feeling that? I was always training to keep them around me at all times?

There's no way it was connected to Luke, was it?

"Shit! You okay, Frisky?"

A soft hand was placed to my back, rubbing it in soothing circles. I sighed and leaned into the content before looking back to the guy.

"Sorry, I didn't mean anything bad by… anything… it's just been a tough and long day…"

"I know Frisky, I figured that we could come here to hang out and cool down." Gesturing to the mountains of games, Luke was quickly trying to cheer me up. I could see how hard he was working to make me happy. He brought me someplace he'd never taken anyone else, even the other friends he seemed to have around the high school. At least… that's what it looked like.

"Thanks…"

"No problem." Luke took a moment then to think before I saw him lean down on the table he was sitting before. I blinked at his expression as it turned to be a much more in depth. Thinking incredibly deeply. "Frisk, I gotta be honest with you. I like you. A lot. I-I know it's only been a short time since we've known each other, but you're so fucking cool, I can't even describe how amazing you are."

W-what?!

Too startled to speak and feeling the heat building up in my cheeks so readily, Luke paused a moment before he continued.

"I see the way your friends keep holding you back and I don't think that's cool. They always are preventing you from doing things that you want to try and making new friends. I can't figure it out if it's because they hate humans or they just hate me because I liked you so much. I know I shouldn't be angry… but I am." He paused before he looked at me with much more serious eyes. "Do you have any idea why they hate me?"

"I…" Did I? Did I know for sure why it was that they hated Luke? That was something I still struggled with trying to figure out and one of the arguments that I literally had with MK beforehand. Our argument was over the more time I spent with Luke rather than them…

Was I abandoning them for Luke?

I honestly couldn't tell anymore. I couldn't even tell if I was mad about it.

"I've just… I've never wanted someone so bad in my life!" Luke scratched roughly at his head while thinking about it too intently. I watched him intently while he seemed to fight with himself. "But I can't just sit here and watch them treat you terribly! You're your own woman, you can make your own mistakes, right?"

"O-of course I can!"

I blurted that out easily enough. I was my own woman. I could make my own decisions and I had before! My friends would be dead if it wasn't for my quick thinking on a few occasions, even if Angel didn't agree with them…

"Ah shit…" Luke turned away from me and I easily saw the tear that drifted down the side of his face. "Don't! J-just… give me a sec!"

And I did. I let him clean himself up while my heart just yanked and pulled at the sight of seeing him so worn down by what my friends were doing to him. How could they? He was trying his best and being himself! I didn't understand what was going on?

"I-I'll stay by you, Luke."

The made hushed a sob that nearly cracked out of his throat. Seeing him turn around while he tried to hide his red face from crying broke my heart so bad. "You mean that? You'll stay with me?"

"Hell yeah!"

Why did my heart soar so badly when I saw him give me that soft smile? Was I honestly growing a crush on him?

Oh forget it, of course I've had one on him.

"C-can I… kiss you?"

My eyes widened at his statement, though, I couldn't bring myself to stop him as he leaned in to do so. My head tilted slightly before a soft little peck came to my lips. It wasn't rough, it wasn't crazy, just a soft little testing peck.

It was soft, it was nice. And it felt so warm and for all of a few seconds, I felt like the world wasn't out to get me.

He chuckled before pulling out the controllers for the system he had. "Wanna play a few rounds, Babe? Oh shit… sorry, I should have asked if it was okay to call you that first…"
"I don't mind." Taking it from his hands, I gave him a quick little peck before grinning mischievously at him. "I'll kick your ass though."

"Oh really?" An honest to goodness real laugh came out of him then. "Bring it, Babe."

Angel's Point of View:

The evening had finally come and work had ended a bit sooner than I had planned. I was thankful, it gave Sans and I the needed time to rest and recuperate after the long weeks of working with Austin's house and establish some well needed plans for upcoming events in their section of the country. While Austin was furious about having to deal with Sans and I all week and in future events, it was his sister I mostly had to work with who was the true head of the house.

Jade Masato was much like her brother, ruthless and tough as most of those that had a justice like soul. However, she wasn't ludicrous like her brother was when it came to views of the monster people. It seemed she had taken over the house just before my release from the underground. She was much more about listening to all facts and finding all evidence before casting down her iron clad judgement upon a said accused. She was much more honest compared to her predecessors. How she came to acquire the house title I wasn't sure other than Gram having some involvement in showing Jade was much more trust worthy then her brother.

Papyrus was back off at college and thankfully Mettaton had not come around since. I'm sure she could feel the hostility of the entire household even if Papyrus didn't. Or perhaps he refused to acknowledge it? She didn't attempt to make any contact with us unless it was involving Papyrus and her.

It made me feel incredibly sad how my brother was being used by that woman, but there was little I could do at the time.

While finishing up the dishes from dinner, the phone began to ring. I couldn't think of who it was since it was well past eight o'clock in the evening. Quickly taking a look, I saw it was Maria's number.

"Hello?"

"Hey Angel."

"MK!" I was surprised to hear it was the lizard teen. "It's lovely to hear from you! How are you?"

"Not… honestly all that great… I'm worried."

"Worried?" I was surprised by the sullen tone that our young friend used. Sans looked over from the TV to glance at me while I chatted. "What seems to be the matter?"

"Frisk… she's changed a lot…" That was the first words I'd heard out of him. "Ever since she met that Luke guy, she's been spending a lot of time with him. I don't know if I'm being a bad friend or not, but I told her like it was. She was leaving a lot of our study sessions that she normally spends with us just to spend time with him, and that's been bothering all of us. Sophie's really upset about it because of how much she cares about Frisk. Even Azz is worried. He's… kinda taken over her spot at our groups since she's not there and we don't know if it's a teen thing or if… maybe…"

"You all still think that maybe this Luke fellow can use magic and is using it on Frisk?"

"Yeah! That's really is what we're thinking!" MK near yelled in his excitement of me understanding. "Frisk never had done this to us! And she changed so quickly! We're really worried since she's almost stopped hanging out with us entirely and only hangs out with Luke… And I'm scared our fight today could have finished it off…"

That really surprised me. Sans joined over by me to listen to the call himself. "You had a fight today? With Frisk?"

"Yeah… it wasn't good. She took off after school and I don't know where she went. Sophie, Azz, Jay and I went home without her…"

"Okay, I'm looking into this Luke." My mind was set that something seriously was wrong. As much as I didn't want to get involved, it looked like I perhaps would need to a bit. "What's his last name?"

"Madden."

"Alright, I'll get researching on this and see what I can find out or seeing if anyone in his family has a history of magic. I'll see what I can do about this, and thank you for looking out for Frisk."

MK I could hear breath out a sigh of relief. "Thanks Angel."

"Don't thank me yet until we stop whatever kind of show this has become. I'll talk with you later."

After hanging up the phone, I sighed and dialed into the main house quickly to one of the butler stations we had in case of emergency. Sans watched on with a worried eye light as I dialed a certain extension.

"Mistress Angel, what a surprise to hear from you so late in the evening."

"Victor, I apologize, but I need assistance." An angry huff left me as I juggled the phone on my shoulder while writing things down on scrap paper I had. I would make a proper file later. "I need a background check on a boy going to Frisk's school about any information you can find on Luke Madden. I need to know if him or his family have any history to possibly having magic and find out if this boy has done anything unsavory that a house member would not want to associate with."

"Of course, mistress. Anything else?"

"This is also to not be said to Frisk at all. I want her to be none the wiser to what you're digging up about this… boy. Report to me any and all information, no matter how small or insignificant."

"It shall be done at once."

I hung up the line then to let the man get to work. I didn't often call in favors of my grandmother's head butler of the Terians family when he had so many things already on his plate hid did for my grandmother, but he was the one to trust to get stuff done if anything came up. It was something I was going to have to get used to as well when a head butler was chosen for myself as well when I became the head of the house.

"Well, ain't this a shit show?" Sans sighed. I felt him reach from my clenched hand and took it into his own. "Talk ta me, Precious."

"I'm infuriated that this is going on." Trying to take a calming breath, I struggled. "I won't let anything bad happen to her. She's all I have left of Mom and Dad…"

"Ya ain't gonna." My husband reassured me. "Look, Victor's gonna get this taken care of and Frisk is gonna go back ta 'er mighty terror like ways. Just give it some time and we'll get it sorted. No way in fuckin' hell we're lettin' anythin' happen ta that girl."

"I hope your right…"

Witch's Note:

Okay, a lot going on here! Holy shit! Things are getting crazy?! What do we do?! So many things are happening right now! I don't even know how to react! Frisk is dating Luke now? She had a fight with MK? Fuck!

(Mystic Girl is off in the distance screaming and crying in hysterics at what was happening. She didn't even have the energy to throw a chair at me this time.)

Okay, okay... there is too much going on... too much to handle... oh shit...

I gotta just jump into reviews...

Thechaosmaster: Scrapping Mettaton already? Oh my dear Chaos... you haven't even seen the worst of it yet. I still have so much to play with her on, and so much that's gonna make your skin crawl. Trust me, if Mystic was in hysterics right now, she would have attempted to skin me alive for the fifth time now!
(I take a careful look out of my office to her door. Thankfully nothing seemed out of place, but I couldn't help but feel in my heart that a jump scare was coming... She was good at those...)

Awe! You and Mystic Boy are so cute! I almost wanna disturb my best friend to show her the sweetness, but... Yeah no... not this time.

Shadow8Phantom: I'm glad to see how attentive you're being to all the little details Shadow! It means a lot when I see you pulling apart the characters as they develop and live their lives, trying to see what's going on, and I have a feeling you'll be giving me a lot of interesting comments on some particular ones upcoming and I'm braced for it!

I have a feeling I've already said too much in Chaos' little bit about the Mettaton arc over there so I won't say anything more, but I can't lie, I AM very excited for Angel and Sans to possibly start their family. Angel is in her young twenties still, roughly twenty-three, I think. And Sans is roughly five years older than her, so roughly twenty eight/nine. Perfect ages for families! And as for the number of kids... I guess you'll have to wait and see! I got plans for that couple! XD

Dasansi: Hi Dasansi! Granted... this may be a wonderful yet bad time... You really wanna go down that hallway? You sure? Okay... It's that door... Good luck.

(I carefully point you down that hallway to where her door is. I peek out as you walk down the hallway and knock on the door. Almost in a creepy fashion like a horror movie, the door slowly opens just enough for an arm to sneak out, glowing eyes to glare from the darkness before you're yanked into that room. And then the door slams shut and the screaming continued.)

Me: Okay, in my defense, I warned you!

(Meanwhile inside Mystic Girl's room...)

(You would actually be surprised to see Mystic Girl and Mystic Man watching a movie that included lots of screaming and hysterics that were blasted at a high volume. She normally wasn't a fan of scary movies, but it seemed that Mystic Man had somehow gotten her into at least some kind of action one that was in the peak of a dramatic episode, and the main actress' voice sounded like Mystic Girl's to add to the confusion of it all.)

Mystic Girl: Hey! You're just in time to join us for the movie! Come on! I got chocolate and I heard you brought peanut butter? Let's enjoy this and ignore what's going on outside. Let Halloween deal with it. Trying to spend my energy before the really important chapters isn't worth it. Just come and join us!

MysticBoywastaken: You tell 'em Mystic Boy! I know! It kills me to write this! But it's part of their growth! Hang in there! We can do it together! And I promise she'll get what's coming to her!

Not A Shady Guy: Okay, hold on! Don't freak out! Don't! It's okay! Okay... maybe it's not after this chapter... but...

I promise there's a reason for all of this! Don't go off the deep end! Please don't!

But yes, there is a highly likely fishiness going on in this setting here, and the plot only seems to be getting thicker and thicker. I'm glad you like the name for the other houses! Or at least the one for Justice. Maybe I should go through all the names again and what they stand for. Probably going to see them in the future as we see other family members. Let me know if you want that Shady.

Phew... and now... it's the end. I honestly need a vacation after this one! Hopefully no one has lost their shit... hold onto it. More is coming. Hang in there! Don't hate me!

Love you all! I really love you! Please don't hate me!
