One World: Many Souls

Chapter 8: A Beloved Moment

Angel's Point of View:

The stress was honestly unreal at times.

Dealing with the new job of being the head of the house Terians as well as managing my own household with a dysfunctional teen, and an overly happy young adult who's too blind to see what his partner is doing to him is too much insanity for a person to handle.

The stress had honestly gotten to me too much to bear at times and had me running to the bathroom for some… personal time. Meals didn't last long at times and there were a few times I had to call out to rest. Gram took up position again when I couldn't, knowing all that was going on with the multiple situations that were going on.

The first ugly beast I faced was assisting as the new head of house to choose the new head of houses. Gram was finally getting to the point in her life where she was ready to pass on the mantle to someone else. All houses were fighting for the title, including myself. Why would I want to hurl myself into so much more work? I honestly wasn't too pleased with that. However, being an advocate for monster and human friendly relationships and the fact that the king of monsters was already an ally of myself and vouching for me, it swayed many opinions that regardless of my lack of experience in the political world, I would be a good fit.

At least, that was what I was told.

The second issue that took present then was dealing with Mettaton who was dating Papyrus at the time. I knew that woman wanted nothing more than to boost her fame by being attached to Papyrus. I honestly hoped that she had no intention of actually joining the family but was just using us for a fame boost. It would be hell if she became part of the family, but she would also be limited the second she became a member. I could make her life hell if that became the case and I'm sure she'd done all of her research on becoming a house member.

My third and final headache came in the form of my sister and her recent boyfriend Luke. In the time frame where MK had called me worriedly, Frisk had admitted to dating him while her friends were left in the dust. She's still being a sour child and any time I ask her why she left her friends she refuses to talk to me. Only once did she say that she didn't need people around who held her back and took off, most likely to Luke's.

The research on that boy had yet to come in, but the small bits that Victor was able to send me previously were nothing I was pleased with. His parents apparently traveled a lot for their jobs so they weren't home often. It was up to the older brother to look after and even raise his younger brother. Normally I would have found that commendable, but the records kept under wraps were not pleasant to read.

Apparently Luke's older brother had been caught a few times in his teen years with drugs. While the offences had been few and far in-between, it made me wonder if the brother had learned his lesson or if he was actually teaching Luke true skills. The drugs listed were lighter items, nothing that would have had me disgusted beyond belief. Marijuana was the only one he was caught with. It still left a bitter taste in my mouth as I wasn't a fan of those drugs and it wouldn't do good for Frisk to be around people who had crimes on their records.

I knew that was going to turn very ugly when she and I would eventually have a talk. Thus turning into a screaming match…

Just the very thought of it drained me. I felt so lethargic every day as we went to meetings. Some of those said meetings I was going to on my own more as Sans had taken up a part time job at the local university where Papyrus was. The Coralstein Science University was one of the best in the country and them taking on Sans, he had to work a bit harder to stump most of his students.

That left me alone when I wasn't feeling well or relying on those that had been sent to be at my side.

"Yo Punk!" I raised my head as I heard a voice call out. Blue finned fingers came into my vision and I raced to shake myself awake. Blinking away the sleep, I noticed that Undyne was there. She was one of the escorts I had for the day as Asgore often lent me my old friend on these assignments to keep my spirits up, especially if Sans wasn't able to go with me. I had her along with Victor, my grandmother's highest level butler to handle most of the running around and minor things for me.

I struggled to rub the sleep from my eyes. "Sorry Undyne, what did you say?"

"Damnit Punk, you didn't hear a world of the story I was telling ya bout Pap, did ya?"

I lowered my head, shame rising in the form of a deep red in my cheeks. "I'm sorry… I hate how I've been so tired lately… With everything going on, I just can't seem to stay awake."

"Tch!" She clicked her tongue angrily. "Then why in hell did you even come out today if you're not fit to work!"

"I'm sorry, just with Frisk and Pap… it's just-"

And then I felt it.

The sudden lunge that hadn't moved so forcefully in my body in such a long time. I raced to hold a hand to my mouth as I felt the bile race up. Victor knew the look all too well and fetched a trashcan for me to hurl into seconds before I could make a mess of myself.

I was thankful that the meeting had ended a while ago.

"Holy shit Angel!" Undyne was hovering closely while Victor calmly rubbed circles in the back of my shoulders.

"That's it, Mistress. Let it all out."

A deep breath left me after dry heaving a few times. When it seemed my body was done, the bucket was quickly pulled away and paper towels were grabbed along with water for me to clean up. I'd never felt such instant relief after throwing up before… was it a small bug? Something that I'd eaten?

I couldn't understand since we always had some of the freshest ingredients. The likelihood of someone getting sick off of bad food was more likely Sans or Frisk who went out to eat on the occasion at fast food places where the food was questionable. Perhaps… I was working myself too hard? The stress getting to me?

"Think it's time to get ya home Angel."

Before I could protest, Undyne had me in her arms and carrying me. She held up in a princess style carry, most likely to make it easier on my stomach then throwing me over her shoulder like she normally would.

"Undyne, I'm fine-"

"Ya just threw up! You're not fine!"

"I have to agree with Miss Undyne that you should go home and rest. I will do all I can to make sure that what was accomplished today will be taken care of." Victor agreed with her as he began to gather my things. "Yvette will sit through the remaining meetings and gather the necessary documents for you to go over later after some rest. We should get you out of the prying eyes of others. I have already called for the car out back so that Undyne can carry you out."

"I don't need to be carried out. I'm fine now." I tried to push myself out of her arms. Yet her arms were like rocks, unbreakable under normal means. "It was just a little spell."

"Quit your shoving and rest, damnit!"

"Undyne, if you don't put me down this instant-"

"Mistress, need I remind you that I do have your husband and grandmother on speed dial if need be?"

And that promptly got me to bit my lip. If I was a hassle, Sans and Gram were bound to make everything a living hell for me. With an aggravated sigh, I gave in and let the woman who was my friend carry me out to the private car parked under a tent for privacy. I was placed in the back seat while she sat beside me and watched my every move, lying against the frame of the car for some coolness against my warmed skin.

Though I did feel better after throwing up. I actually felt like I had some energy again. I wondered if there was any way to let them allow me to work again. Then again, I knew that wasn't going to be the case.

"Perhaps it may be wise to stop at the local market for some medicine?"

Victor was driving while Undyne sat with me. I could feel her intent stare on me while I tried to get comfortable for a nap.

I shook my head, arguing slightly still with him. "I just need some rest."

"Perhaps I may stop there for another reason, Mistress?" Victor I could see glancing back out of the mirror overhead. "Many of the symptoms you're presenting are similar to beginning stages of pregnancy."

And that had me sitting upright instantly. My tiredness was gone the moment those words were said. Pregnant? Could I be? I knew that Sans and I had only just begun trying a short while ago when we had the time, but that was before all the stress had begun up with all the people in my life. Was I pregnant for that long?

A warmth spread through me, a small speck and hope that perhaps I was pregnant. It was something I was hoping for. For so long I had wanted a family of my own, to bring back those of the Terians name. We had dwindled in recent years due to war and then the deaths of many of the family such as Grandfather, Mom and Dad. I was eager to hold them, love them, and make sure they had a very different life compared to what I and Frisk had to go through.

"D-do you really think so, Victor?"

"It is possible. Miss Undyne, perhaps we could ask you to step inside and grab the items needed? I shall write them down on a paper for you."

"Hell yeah, I can!" With a bright grin, Undyne hit my shoulder gently compared to how she would before. "Gotta find out if you're gonna be a mom."

Victor pulled in quickly to a quiet section of the local market where they would carry those items. Victor I saw writing out the items that Undyne would need to get before handing her a neatly set of written notes. He also passed a freshly pressed bill that had come from the bank recently.

"I would suggest getting a few in case that one perhaps may be faulty. I will remain here where the mistress can rest. Then we shall head home."

"Ya got it Boss!" Undyne saluted him before rushing out of the car. Not wanting to run around the vehicle, she slid over the top hood of it before rushing off toward the front door in a mad sprint. I watched her through the dark tinted windows with a light laugh to me.

The surprised energy was wearing off quickly. I was still rather tired from how I had been running around recently. Leaning my head against the glass, I closed my eyes just to take some of the strain off my head.

"You can rest, Mistress. Undyne will not be long and then we will be off home."

"I know…"

Any other words he said to me didn't register. I supposed I must have had a deep nap where I didn't even notice when Undyne returned to the car, or the drive home. It was like a flash and I was being carried through my front door. I woke from the dead sleep to startle Undyne as she was carrying me in.

"Fuck!"

"Go ahead and set her down, Miss Undyne." Victor was already there steadying the two of us while helping the fish woman set me down gently. "Mistress, will you be okay for a few moments while you use these paternity tests? Have you rested enough?"

"Yes, yes. Just let me catch my bearings and then I'll go work on this." I sighed as I realized how out of it I really was. "Then I'll rest, clearly I shouldn't be doing much more today."

"Ya got that right, Angel." Undyne pointed to the bathroom we had on the single floor. "Put all the stuff in there for ya."

"Thank you."

Carefully walking over to the bathroom, I shut the door before softly looking over the instructions and what kind of tests that Undyne had gathered for me. They were all pretty basic, pee on the stick, wait for your results. I had a few that ran on batteries to show the results, other were more traditional with showing smiley faces or double lines.

I got to work then. I made sure to organize everything carefully to set certain brands by each one while I prepared to do the deed. It took little time once I had them all in order and simply waited to the side of the table. So many thoughts were running through my head while I waited. If I was pregnant… then I would be so excited to tell Sans, along with the rest of our family. But if not… then I certainly needed have myself seen by a doctor to know where all the exhaustion was coming from.

I struggled not to look and only focused on the watch on my wrist to tell me the time as I counted down two whole minutes. It was agony as I couldn't wait those very seconds until they hit zero. Using the counter as a brace, I stood up from the toilet and looked over my results.

Eyes widening at the shock, I could see that all positive responses were facing me on the sticks. I carefully looked to the many products I'd used before facing the one that gave me a time frame.

"Four weeks…"

"Mistress?" I jumped at the voice on the other side of the door, forgetting that my friends were still there and waiting on me. "Is everything alright?"

"Victor, Undyne…" I cracked open the door to face the two of them. I was too emotional in those moments to think very clearly. Sobs escaped me while I clung to the doorway. "F-four weeks…"

That placed warm smile on the face of the family butler. "Then congratulations are in order."

"Yes!" Undyne was quick to snatch me up and set me down on the couch in the living room after hugging me to her with just a bit of pressure to know how hard she was holding back from crushing me. "Now ya need to rest! Doesn't Sans get home soon?"

Taking a glance at the clock, I notice how it was almost three in the afternoon. Sans' lectures would run for another hour before he would be home. He had one more class to take care of.

"Around four."

"God damnit!" The woman huffed before crossing her arms. "Wanted to throw it in his face."

"Undyne, let me tell him first. Okay?" I couldn't help but feel over the lower half of me, pressing into my skin and noticing how it was just a bit harder than normal. "I want to tell him about this first."

"Then we shall both keep our mouths' sealed Mistress until you do so." Victor bowed before stepping backward. "I shall begin work on the most recent documents and put aside the ones you will need to look over later. I trust that Miss Undyne can watch you while I work?"

"Course ya can!" A hard slap went to the man's shoulder. Undyne didn't hold back as he was study as a willow. "I can watch anime or something while she naps."

"Very well, do let me know if you need anything else."

While Victor pressed on, Undyne easily threw me another grin before grabbing the TV remote and setting to the well-known channels that ran anime marathons all day long. She easily got engrossed by one with ninjas while I laid out on the couch.

A nap didn't sound so bad then…

Later That Afternoon:

The smell of something awfully lovely brought me back to the world of the living. When I opened my eyes, the anime Undyne had been watching was turned off and she herself was gone. The fatigue I felt earlier was gone and I was able to sit up with a much more alert sense about me. In the kitchen I could hear someone rummaging about, and from the humming, it sounded like my husband.

I couldn't hear or see Frisk home yet, she must have been still out with that Luke fellow. I sighed in annoyance, but I would deal with that later.

Slowly getting up and heading into the kitchen, I saw Sans moving about in slow moments as he pulled out some take out dinner onto plates for us. He had out everything and just went to grab the plates when he saw me in the doorway.

"Well, hello there, Precious." Sans showed me a soft smile. "Heard ya had a hell of a day?"

"Yes, sorry if I worried you." I kissed his skull, settling against his body. Happy to see him in those moments, I almost fell against him.

"Undyne said that." Sans' arm came around me, holding me to him. "Ya need ta rest a bit more there, Precious. I've already been told ya ain't allowed to get outta bed before eight ta do yer paperwork Victor dropped off."

"Yes sir." With a roll of my eyes, I gave him a salute. I then gestured to the food. "What's all this?"

"Food for ya. Yer favorites. Hot n sour soup, crab rangoons, and orange chicken with broccoli."

"You're so sweet."

"So," with a wiggle of his boney brows, he gestured to the plates. "Ready ta eat?"

"Almost," I pulled back from his hold and pulled him away from the food. I was starved, but he needed to know first. "Have you had a chance to use the first-floor bathroom since you came home?"

"…no?" His playful mood somewhat startled when I asked that question.

"Come with me."

I led my partner over to the bathroom where the door had been closed off earlier by either Undyne or Victor. Opening the door, I showed the male all the tests that I had used earlier in the day. Sans looked over them carefully before he blinked and tuned back to me.

"The hell is this?" Sans picked up the one listed as four weeks in his hands before he saw the box that went with it. His sockets widened before he slowly turned back to me. "No!"

The smile on my face was much wider, even if a tad tired. "Yes."

"Kids?!"

"Yeah."

"Yer four weeks along?!"

"Yes, Darling."

"Holy shit!" Sans looked between all the tests and looked at me. "Ya okay?!"

"I'm fine, just tired. But it looks like I'll have to be careful a bit more and watch my energy."

"Yeah, that sounds good." Sans, with the one most special test in hand, pulled me out of the bathroom. "Now let's get some food inta ya. Then we can watch movies while ya rest. 'Kay?"

"Okay."

Sans led me to the couch to sit before he used his magic to teleport the food in and out of the kitchen. He had me settled with mine at the couch, TV on and a glass of juice beside me, while he had his food. We sat together while a science film was placed on for the two of us to watch.

"Yer gonna be a great mom."

It was one of the soft words he whispered and I couldn't help but giggle. I couldn't resist curling into his arm.

"And you'll be a great dad."

Witch's Note:

Okay, this is such a change since the last chapter, right? I know I've thrown a whole bunch of hell in a handbasket at a lot of you, but this hopefully settles down and shows the wholesomeness again, I hope. Angel is pregnant! She's early, so we don't know if anything will happen or if she ends up struggling to have kids like her mom did, so we'll have to keep watch.

But I'm hoping you all enjoyed this. It was such a fun chapter to write!

Let's go ahead and move onto reviews then, we've got a lot to cover!

MysticBoywastaken: Okay, so normally I go in the order of how everyone posted, but I need to get this one out of the way first. Because Mystic Boy? What the hell are you doing? I don't care if that last chapter review is a joke or not, that is NOT something you do or say to someone. That was a THREAT. A threat to me. That is unacceptable and neither Mystic Girl or I will tolerate it. You don't talk about that to either of us. EVER.

I realize that you are very passionate about the characters, and perhaps I write maybe a bit more realistically than most people do, but that still is no excuse for how you acted. Do you remember what you wrote? You said that you'd kill me? That you knew where I lived? Excuse me? You wanna know what my boyfriend, Jager, said the second I got your post and he saw it?

"Report him."

And I am seriously considering it.

I'm only going to say this once, Mystic Boy. Do NOT do that again, or I will. And you better listen carefully because your captain has words for you too about this.

Mystic Girl: This is your captain speaking. If you ever do that again, you will be reported and banned from reviewing on our stories, as well as I will be demoting you in my army, removed from it entirely.

You will not be talking to EITHER one of us like that. That is my SISTER, you talk to my sister again like that and you will regret it.

Me: Okay (sigh) now that we have that out of the way, let's move onto some more other (nicer) reviews.

Thechaosmaster: Oh my, deciding to go for Luke already Chaos? XD I'm glad to see you all revved up and ready to go! Hahaha! So you've decided that Luke is a bad person? So do you agree with Shadow's predictions? I would assume so based on the way you're writing this in extreme factions!

But that's okay. I'm glad to see all of you so passionate about the characters as you learn and see more that's happening to them. I'm glad you care about them and their stories so much! Just make sure not to hurt yourself and be careful of your health, okay?

Mystic Girl: Chaos, you are my absolute favorite right now!

Shadow8Phantom: You have quite a few good points here Shadow, and I'm really glad you're pointing these things out! It's always great to hear another person's opinion compared to the rest. So Frisk is acting quite strange. Her horrible teen phase getting crazy, and prolonged. Then you have Luke who's possibly giving off manipulative vibes (I can't say if that's true or not yet, sorry!) And then you Angel being a concerned, possible helicopter parent to Frisk doing background checks on him. All very possible things, some of them making more sense than others. Some of them are a bit more outlandish. Again, I can't really clarify a lot of this yet since there's still so much to cover and understand.

But do keep in mind that this story will run a slightly faster pace, especially as we get away from chapter one. For example, Frisk will be entirely done with her schooling of high school around chapter... I think twenty-two or so. And perhaps I'm not giving out much details for the dates, but we are at least part way into the school year with the kids in their sophomore year. Hang in there, Shadow! All will be revealed soon enough!

Dasansi: And hello to you too Dasansi! And what a rare treat this is! You're giving Luke a chance compared to everyone else!? My goodness! Doesn't that make me feel great! It means that I'm doing at least somewhat of a good job keeping you on the fence about him! Yay!

But I'm sure soon enough you'll make a final decision for him either before or after he may or may not leave the book. I can't really say much at the moment since I want you all to have a chance to look over everything, I present to you as the story goes on and make your own decision based on that.

Not A Shady Guy: You got it Shady! Let me start with that list!

Terians: Determination

Masato: Justice

Charisse: Kindness

Dante: Preservation

Ahonui: Patience

Ufair: Bravery

Honora: Integrity

Hopefully that helps! So, you can see what you're working with in the future as they come up!

And now there is so much going on! So much to explain! And yes! I will!...

Eventually! But I'm also glad you're kinda looking at this from both angles to give this guy maybe a chance to prove that this might just be a horrible coincidence. Maybe it is? We don't know that at all.

And you may HAVE to get the group together! It's getting crazy over here! I don't know if I can handle it all myself!

Damn... what a day! Now here's the end of another chapter with some nice things happening all around. Just in time for me to break all your hearts! Sorry, not sorry. You'll find out next time.

Mystic Girl: Halloween! Don't you dare-!

Me: Love you all and see you next week!
