One World: Many Souls

Chapter 9: A Heart Shatters

Angel's Point of View:

"Frisk, I need you to understand how this concerns me."

"Concerns you? You literally won't let me have Luke over to the house to hang out? You haven't even met him!"

"Perhaps I would have met him already if he wasn't denying any of my invitations to meet in at a public place." I could already feel a headache coming on that I didn't need. I tried to keep my stress levels low as I had recently become pregnant.

I was at that point almost three months along and very eager for my upcoming appointment to see how the little one I was carrying were doing. However, my sister was making it harder for me as she argued in the kitchen.

"Frisk, cool it." Sans was quick to come to my aid when it saw the veins on my forehead starting to stretch. "Yer sister gave her ground rules. Not like we haven't tried ta meet 'im when we can. Ya know we don't got much time ta spend and when we're denied every time, that makes us worried kiddo. He don't sound like a good kid and we don't want 'im here."

Our younger sister scoffed. "Seriously? That's the reason?"

"That is the reason and you better listen to it." The snarl in my voice and the pulsing of magic made my sister jump in her seat, not expecting me to get as mad as I was. The words that dripped from my mouth were like pouring venom from a flask. Quiet and deadly. "He is not welcome here. And he is not to be here when we're not home or else you're going to find yourself in worse trouble then you've ever seen in your life. Am I understood?"

A few moments of silence followed before Frisk huffed. "Yes ma'am…"

"Good." With a sigh, I looked back over at Sans who had calmed down a bit and was eagerly waiting for me by the door.

"Ya ready ta go?"

"Yes, Alphys and Undyne are so eager to go with us to this doctor. Apparently, he's the one of the newest and best. His resume is impeccable."

"Long as he treats ya right." Sans could only shrug as he held open the door for me. "After ya."

A giggle escaped me as I passed him. "Why thank you, Darling."

Frisk's Point of View:

"WHY?!"

The screech left me as I walked down the road to the local park that was only a few minutes from the house. I left the house as soon as Angel was Sans were gone and I could scream out loud with no repercussions.

Angel just didn't understand how he cared about me and was pulling me away from people who didn't care about me! It didn't matter what I said to her! She just wouldn't listen! And Sans was on her side! He wouldn't even listen!

I'm in love with Luke! He cares about me and always is trying to make me happy! If something was bothering me, he'd take me away from it! What was wrong about that! He was busy when Angel wanted to meet him, but he had been trying! She barely was!

Why would no one listen to me? Why was everyone leaving me behind?

It was so emotionally painful when I sat at the swings at the park. Tears welded up in my eyes and the clouds above my head were darkening. They were nearly as black as the night. They felt like my heart did then. Angry at the world, pissed at everything around me, ready to strike out.

"Yo! Frisky!"

I lifted my head quickly to see Luke approaching me in the park. He rushed over at seeing my pitiful appearance. He practically threw himself into the dirt, reaching up to wipe away the tears that fell from my eyes.

"Frisky? What happened?"

"Angel… she forbids you from going to the house until she meets you…" I couldn't stop the crying as I was angry and frustrated. "She won't listen to me when I tell her how you're trying, but things come up! And she's barely trying."

"Hey, its fine. She's the leader of a house and has things to do." Luke sighed, but tried to show me a small. "You do what you have to for family right? I'm sure she's trying really hard where she can?"

I shook my head quickly. "I thought so… but I don't know anymore."

"It's cool. You do what you have to."

I hated how frustrating it was! Luke was being so accommodating! And my sister wasn't! No one was! Why? Why did it have to be like this?

And then of course, that was when the weather finally broke down like I was. The rain came down, like cats and dogs, soaking us within seconds.

"Are you FUCKING kidding me here?! Seriously?!"

Could nothing go right?

"Hey, it's okay Frisky!" I was surprised when half of Luke's jacket was pulled over my head. I peeked up at him over the edge of the jacket. He shivered in the breeze and under the rain. "It'll be okay, wanna go to my house and dry off? I can get some clothes for you."

Neither of us were really properly dressed. We were soaked. Within seconds I was worried for the cellphone that was in my pocket. I was worried for Luke's as well. He didn't have the money to just go ahead and replace it like me if something stupid happened.

With a hiss, I snapped. I gave up. Screw my sister. I was bringing Luke to the house to dry him off.

"Come on."

Pulling out from under his jacket, I pulled him along toward my home. The estate was only a short distance. I could easily cut through the woods that broke our property from public land.

"Wait, Frisk!" Luke cried out in his shock. "But your sister said-"

"Fuck my sister. She'll live."

Luke remained quiet as I pulled him along the short distance and then through the tree line to get back onto the property. Once there, Luke watched in amazement before I yanked him toward the front door. It was open, just as I'd left it before I pulled us inside. I brought him out of the rain and into the mudroom. The water fell off of us in little rivers while I tried to ring out my hair.

"Wait here, I'll get you a towel and some dry clothes."

I hurried off then to do as I'd said. I hurled off my own clothes in the process once I was out of his sight that I could clean up moments later. Streaking around the house, I raced to grab some from the first floor bathroom. Angel always kept every place stocked to the brim with items that were needed.

I then hurried off to my room to grab some quick clothes for me, hurling them on over my partially dried off body and the towel wrapped around my head. I hurried into Papyrus' room to grab some clothes for Luke before hurrying back to the first floor. Luke was still waiting there while watching outside at the weather.

"Here." He turned back around when he saw the towel and dry clothes in hand. "There's a bathroom around the corner. I'll clean up the mess while you change and dry off. I'll dry your clothes when you're done."

A blinding smile that made my heart race. I struggled not to swoon at him. "Thanks Frisky, I owe you one. But… I'm sorry for making you go behind your sister's back. Do… you think she'll find out?"

"We're the only ones home." I waved him off. "And we'll be more prepared with some umbrella to head back to the park. I can call you a cab there if it's still raining by the time you get cleaned up.

"You're the best." I was surprised when he flew forward to give me a kiss before he took off. He found the bathroom quickly and closed the door while I stood there with a dumb look on my face.

"Mistress Frisk."

And that was when my heart plummeted in my chest.

Taking to turn around, there stood Victor with many documents in his hands that I'm sure he was preparing for my sister when she came back from the appointment. The look on his face was far from pleased as he stared at the mess behind me.

"I believe you were told he was not to be allowed in this house?"

"The rain suddenly poured on us in the park!"

"And did you call him to meet you there?"

"No, I just ran into him when I rushed off!"

"Does it not seem strange that he always seems to know where you are?"

"It was just a coincidence!"

"Very few things in this world is 'just a coincidence' Mistress. Often, we are guided by some hand or another. And it seems this boy is certainly doing so with you."

My fists shook. "He is not!"

"Do not argue with me. I have already informed your sister and your grandmother." The screech like pained sound that escaped me sounded like a dying animal. Victor seemed not to care as he neatly began working through the stack of papers in his hands. "That boy will be given time to change, we will bag his wet clothes for him and send him home in a taxi. Your grandmother is already infuriated with you. I daresay your sister will be bringing you into an early grave at the speed you're digging it out."

"Um…" Both of us turned our heads in the direction of Luke who just had made it out of the bathroom. He looked so sheepish, and so helpless! "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to cause trouble. I can leave."

"You shall be within a moment. A taxi has been called for you." Victor stared at the boy with a vicious glare. "You shall wait there until it arrives. Mistress Frisk, you are to head upstairs. Remain there until your grandmother arrives. She will have words for you."

I actually shook in fear as I stood there. A gentle pat was given to my shoulder to force me to move. I wanted to throw up.

Gram was terrifying… anything but her…

Angel's Point of View:

"I do have to apologize, Mrs. Terians, but it appears the fetus did not make it."

I froze on the table. Everyone did as we stood there, the ultrasound still working as my stomach had been examined. The picture that was shown to me was a small little baby inside my gut where its umbilical cord had detached from the wall.

I was inconsolable, even as Sans gripped my hand so tightly in his own. It devastated us. I had prayed that perhaps my body would be stronger than my mother's had been who struggled for almost a decade to have two children.

It… it hurt worse than I thought…

Undyne and Alphys hovered to my side, holding onto whatever piece of either Sans or I they could get their mitts on. I felt the warmth of their hands, but it did little to comfort the cold feeling I had in my chest.

"I know this is a lot to process, but…" the doctor who was taking care of me, Dr. Hajim, he sat there in the room after explaining what had happened. "I would like to offer you a small surgery to remove the dead little one so that you perhaps could try again, when you're ready."

I still couldn't speak. I just didn't have the energy to with such a bomb landed in my lap. Just moments ago we were excited to see the baby, even if only some sort of malformed little creature that was inside of me that could have been my baby.

Though apparently it wasn't for us.

"Let me give you some time to think it over. I know this is probably too much for you to handle."

"…No."

The words left my mouth before even I knew what I was saying. I felt like everything was in slow motion.

"It's alright, Mrs. Terians. This does happen quiet frequently to first time mothers. Take your time to think."

"I said… no." The nurse who was beside me looked at the doctor in surprise as I pushed away the probe that was pushed gently into my side. "I don't want it. My body… it will do what it has to."

"I… have to strongly suggest that we do the surgery to free your body from discomfort." The doctor tried again. "I know your very upset over this, and rightfully so, but-"

"No, you're not touching me anymore. I'm going home." The nurse quickly stood to step away from me while the tears slowly slipped down my face. "Someone help me get this gunk off of me!"

"Mrs. Terians-"

"Didn't ya hear her punk?" Undyne hissed at the doctor. "She said no. What part of that don't ya understand?"

"Because she's going to make her body suffer with letting it take care of the child's remains."

Those just weren't words I could listen to them. I had to leave. I had to get out. Nothing made sense then. The terms they were using, they didn't sound right. Not like doctors I'd heard from before.

And I just couldn't listen to this anymore. I needed to catch my bearings.

"Sans…"

"I know, Precious." Quickly I felt his hands on me as I was lifted into the air. "Let's head home."

Our doctor wasn't given another chance to try and convince us as Sans teleported us outside. I couldn't think of much else until I heard the cracking of the sky above and the heavens poured over our heads. Sans got us into the car and we waited for our friends to go home.

I just… needed some time to deal with this insanity…

Witch's Note:

Man... I know I warned you guys, but this is even hard for me to write or reread at times. Such a crushing chapter to read where so much was lost or destroyed, and sadly... it's not over yet.

Sometimes you have to go through a lot of bad events before you see the good. I wanted everyone to see this after such a more... wholesome story that didn't have as many problems back in the previous story. Oh course, everyone still had their problems and things were happening in the background, but still... not like this.

And some of you I'm more than certain will have words for me. I'm looking especially to you, Phantom. I know you're going to question me on some things in this chapter, and I'm already braced for it. I promise there was a reason I set this up or certain people said certain words and phrases, if that helps at all.

But let's move onto something more fun! Reviews!

MysticBoywastaken: Like last time, I'm going to get this out of the way first due to the severe content of what's happened in the last couple of weeks. I'm not going to keep hammering you about what you did. Everyone, plus myself and Mystic have already said our two cents about what you did, how terrible it was, and why it was unacceptable. I will accept your apology under the condition that you understand that this was your only allowance of a screw up. Should that ever happen again, I'm not going to give you a chance to try and redeem yourself.

That's all from me. Mystic? You wanna say anything?

Mystic Girl: No, not really. (Mystic Girl takes a massive sigh while she looks rather irritated in the corner with Mystic Man trying to sooth her.)

Thechaosmaster: Chaos, I have to take a few moments here to thank you from the bottom of my heart for standing up for us. I know we have an incredible small community here, but to know that there's someone who cares about us that much, both Mystic Girl and I, it really means a lot.

The second I saw that review come through with you, honestly using the entirety of it, to defend myself, it really brought tears to my eyes. You and so many of the others rose in arms and I can't say how much that means to me. Really. It made my world. To know that we have people like that in our corner really is special. So know that about yourself, and thank you Chaos.

Sorry you didn't get a chance to gush over Angel and Sans with their special moment of getting pregnant, but we'll have more to come. Happy moments will come back after this, so bear with me. I promise we'll get through this mess together if you stick along with me.

Mystic Girl: Thank you for your kind words, vice captian, I'm very impressed with the way you handled this. You always have been my favorite of this murderous killing group!

Shadow8Phantom: Oh I'm waiting for the comments to rain down from you, Shadow. As I stated before, a lot of what I did before was purposeful. So bear that in mind when giving me your two cents, okay? But soon enough, we'll hopefully see their dreams come true. So hang in there!

And I also wanted to take a special moment to thank you as well, Shadow, for defending us. I agree with you on a lot of the points you made, which is why I've been so lenient in the past. I hope that Mystic Boy can reflect on what many of you have said.

Dasansi: Oh my GOD Dasansi! I know I'm mean-

Mystic Girl: Here here!

Me: Shut up! You're not helping!

Mystic Girl: Have you LOOKED at your own chapters?

Me: Again, SHUT UP! Anyway, NO! Dasansi, I won't be doing that. That's too cruel, even for me. I can't do that to anyone. If I was doing some sort of zombie story where that kind of background was a high possibility-

Mystic Girl: Which you ARE! AND! You've already done it.

Me: WOULD YOU GIVE IT A REST! (She's laughing behind me) That would be the only reason I would do something MAYBE as messed up as that. After all the hell I've put Angel and Sans through, as well as Frisk and Papy, no way am I gonna do something as messed up as that.

Mystic Girl: YOU ALREADY HAVE!

Me: OH MY GOD WOMAN! WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE YOU SHUT UP!

Mystic Girl: Chocolate. And the good stuff, no holding back on quality.

Me: (I pull one of my secret stash chocolate bars from my hidden safe and throw it for her. She dives for it and I close the door behind her.) Anyway… I have other messed up things planned, but not THAT bad.

But we'll get some cute moments soon! Just bear with it while we get some grounding underneath us!

unfortunatelyriverwastaken: River! Oh my goodness! Long time no see! Yes, you have missed out on a lot, but we are back! Writing more and more for you lovely people!

I love the way you're trying to pull apart what you've learned of Luke thus far. It's amazing to see how everyone kinda has a similar yet different approach to my writing and how they take it depending on their own experiences. I don't want to reveal anything yet, and this is also why Mystic Girl has been fighting so hard not to tell anyone about whether Luke is good or bad for all this time just to keep you guys guessing-

Mystic Girl: AND ITS FUCKING HARD! DAMNIT!

Me: I know, I know. Hang in there. (I pat her shoulder while she glares at me.) You know it's gonna be worth it. So I'll just keep a bit more quiet now until more is revealed, because we got some chapters that are gonna be 'hell in a handbasket' worthy coming up soon!

Shit is about to get real!

Not A Shady Guy: Hey Shady, you're another one of the crew I need to thank for trying to go above and beyond for what you did to try and help us with the issues that have come up. Seriously. Thank you. And thank you as well for reaching out personally as well by PM. Mystic and I really appreciated it. You and any of the others are welcome to PM us at any time, for chatting, checking in, and any past material you want to gush or talk about, we're more than welcome to it!

And yes! So much has happened, but like I said before, time has begun to flow a bit faster than previously. And while some chapters might be back to back here and there, it's more likely that a few days to a few weeks might be in between them now until some massive changes happen and then we'll be doing more of month intervals. Not for a while, but soon! XD

Oh I love how you're trying to figure them out! Yay! The houses actually are based on different languages to try and give some diversity. Here, I'll give you another list so you can see them again. I'll add in what we had before so it all makes sense. (To be perfectly honestly… I had to research a couple since I forgot… I guess I didn't write them down.)

Terians: Determination: French

Masato: Justice: Japanese

Charisse: Kindness: Anglo-French

Dante: Preservation: Italian

Ahonui: Patience: Hawaiian

Ufair: Bravery: Arabic

Honora: Integrity: Latin

You weren't too far on some of your predictions! It was really fun to put this together, and my thought process behind this country is that it is separate from the other countries we know and are familiar with. But we don't have too much association with the other countries outside of the one we're in currently. Trying to keep it reasonable and not too complicated involving too many real factors. You know? But there will be influence of course.

And thank you for the update my good sir! Orders shall be passed out soon depending on what Mystic Girl gets up to with her band. She's been quiet as I said...

And here we are! At the end of another chapter! I know there was a lot of heartbreaking things in this chapter, but please hang in there, things will change soon enough. We just gotta get through a bit more to see things change and characters figuring certain things out!

Still can't say anything, so hopefully you all will give this a chance.

Love you all and see you next week!

Halloween Witch and Mystic Girl:
