Chapter 7
The gathering happened completely by accident.
In fact it was Syrax that sensed it at first. "You feel that?" she asked aloud.
The ladies paused and nodded. "A young dragon's power is growing, it feel like Raynn, but he never works this hard," said Rhea.
"Did you want to go see?" Choso asked gently. "You have been in the house for a while, and we have more than enough warm clothing for you and your sisters if you want to go outside…"
They were reluctant, until Toshi began to smile oddly. In fact, there was a look of excitement on his face. "Ladies… you are going to want to see this…" he insisted. "In fact, I feel like I can hardly contain myself… I'm excited…"
"Toshi?" Junpei asked with concern. "Why…"
"Oh… uh…." Toshi paused, he realized he hasn't told the brothers about his connection to Sukuna.
However, his wife was quick to explain. "Sukuna mentioned before he was going to look into his elemental abilities, he was going to ask Kiyoshi for assistance, but there has to be give and take. But… he did sound rather excited to be having a battle against Kiyoshi…" she said offhandedly.
The brothers paused. "So… he's excited to be doing this?" Sho asked. Toshi nodded. "Well, let's get these ladies bundled up and go see!"
They dressed their wives in the warmest clothing they had and blankets as a precaution. They made their way to the flat field where the battle was about to start. Sukuna had taken the field on the right. Kiyoshi… was on the left… yet. "What on earth are those?!" Noranso asked with an impressed look on his face.
"Ooo snow shikigami, nice!" said Junpei.
Sanso and Toshi were quick to make big chairs for the ladies to sit in comfortable, they were padded down with blankets and they were able to watch everything in comfort.
Kiyoshi made the first move, with a wave of his hand and order given, he sent the first wave forward.
"Hey, hey, look at that! Those snowmen look like us!" Eso said aloud.
Then they jumped by the breaking of the sound barrier.
Sukuna had launched his attack, if anything, it was if a cannonball was fired!
One snow cannonball took out a good chunk of Kiyoshi's snow golems.
"Ooo!" the brothers cringed, and yet, with a mere wave of his hand… they reformed.
"Oooohh!" the ladies cheered with great enthusiasm. "This is going to be good!"
"What the hell is all of this?!" Toshi turned and saw Toji wonder over with his kids, and then he saw the snow fight happening. He said nothing but pointed. Everyone nodded; it was the reason why they were here. They wanted to see the fight.
So, Toji excused himself and grabbed some hot drinks. He and his children were fine sitting in the snow, everyone kept warm thanks to the hot beverages and the brothers making runs back and forth for the ladies. They grabbed snacks not just for them, but everyone else witnessing this odd event.
The battle itself was intense.
Kiyoshi was holding his ground well, making snow golems as needed. Sukuna was quick himself to refuel and reload on what he needed to fight back. Yet, the way he threw those snowballs. It broke the sound barrier each time, and then, the strikes began to get more powerful. He could clear half the snow golem army with four shots.
Kiyoshi however, was quick to counter and reform his legions in an instant.
"Is this strange for me to say that it appears they are BOTH having fun?" Yuuji asked aloud.
"Oh, it's been a while since Ryomen had someone to play with like this…" Chusi said with a reminiscing sigh. "He played often when the weather was like this. He LOVED the snow. But not many would dare to join him… as you can see. The only few who would were be my family. We can take a hit, even if it's him throwing snowballs the size of a child. But he never aimed to harm us." She explained.
Nearly the whole domain came to watch this fight, neither side refusing to give in and yet, Toshi could feel it. Sukuna was running out of steam, Kiyoshi appeared to be on the brink of passing out too.
"It's going to be decided, who can stay on their feet…" Chusi said.
"How long have they been fighting?" asked Yuuji.
Toshi checked his watch. "Three hours and forty two minutes." The golems were vanishing, and then, at the same time. Both Kiyoshi and Sukuna passed out.
"It's a tie," everyone announced.
"But damn, Kiyoshi!" Suiryu said.
"DAMN!" shouted Nao
"SUIRYU!"
"Sorry, why does she only pick up on MY swear words?"
"You say them often enough." Choso chimed in.
"Shut it,"
Chusi however was rather happy to this, she went to get Sukuna and without hesitation, she turned him on to his back and began to drag him home by his feet! "We'll be leaving first!" she called.
It was hard not to laugh at this point. Sukuna… being dragged by his feet… through the snow… by his wife…
"No one say anything," Toshi warned. But snickered aloud to the sight before him.
"Agreed, but that is some funny shit…"
"SHIT!"
"I swear to God, I am going to nail your mouth shut!" Nobara warned.
