Chapter 25
Kiyoshi wasn't the only one getting trained.
Suguru has found his lessons were getting tougher by the day. Chusi, despite having the same body as Yua, same height and weight as her… she could hit harder than anyone he has encountered!
Including Sukuna!
"Come on Suguru, you won't enter my family lying on the ground like that!" she called. "On your feet!"
He has been beaten black and blue. Before the lesson sunk in, he had to lie to everyone as to why he was beaten up so badly. That was another thing, despite his wounds, Chusi said he can't get healed by the doctor or anyone in the domain. He had to endure it. However, everything changed when the finally got the lesson she was trying to teach him.
Reverse jujutsu.
He didn't realize this was her intent at the time, but since then, she has been striking a lot harder and in more tender areas than before. Yet the new lesson was this, the moment he is struck, he has to heal himself.
It's been a delicate dance to say the least. But it's getting harder and harder to keep pace with her.
Eventually she showed mercy.
"10 minute break," she decreed.
Suguru collapsed then and there. "UGH! WHY! Why are we doing this!?" he roared aloud. "Don't get me wrong, thanks for teaching me reverse jujutsu but still… why?!"
Chusi smiled as she took a seat next to him. "What sorcerers convent, their abilities and power, are nothing in my family, for no one had the same technique. To us, even if you didn't have one, you had talent. Talent is always noticed even if it was an easily given talent, or one that you worked hard at. Suguru, I know why you and Satoru broke apart as friends. And there's a lot more to it than you care to admit too, isn't there?"
Silent.
He was silent on the matter, however, Sukuna's words kept going through his head. 'You can't get anything pass a Tooru.'
Suguru sighed aloud as he brushed back his hair, he peered at her and forced a smile. "I see why Sukuna fears you…"
She merely smiled. "So, care to talk about it?" she asked.
Suguru nodded, since, after all, he doubts he will get any farther today if he doesn't. "I always thought we would be the best of friends, when he first came, I was actually stronger than him. I mean, I controlled my technique well, he has yet to fully utilize his. But then, the Star Plasma Vessel mission…" his voice trailed off. It was when his world began to fall apart.
"We… did everything we could to ensure the mission was successful, for the sake of humanity right? Then why did humanity try and stop us? To go through SO MUCH effort to prevent the merger? I mean… it was over the dumbest thing! So Tengen remains 'pure'? Are they fucking kidding me!"
"Then what?" she asked. "Satoru had many near death experiences, so much so it allowed him to grasp his technique better, to understand it and learn from it. When a sorcerer is closer to death, they have better knowledge to their own power."
He nodded. "After he figured out limitless, reverse curse technique and hallow purple… I felt he just sprinted on ahead of me, and I had no way of catching up to him… I was no longer in his league." He said in a disheartened tone.
"It's more than that," Chusi said bluntly. "You were upset that his power came naturally, in an instant… like the snap of his fingers." She said. "You… you have spent YEARS trying to understand yours and have yet to truly understand it. Only recently you have scratched the surface of your ability."
"But how did I learn to use reverse…"
"I said before, that's child's play in the Tooru family. Even at a young age, the first lesson one gets with curse energy is how to use that technique to heal themselves or those who need to be healed." She explained. "THIS, is why my family was feared, Suguru Geto. For if a sorcerer has more than one technique, they can go insane, it's too much damage on the mind. Yet, that never happened in my family. Besides, we don't even consider it a technique, it's rather basic skill one can do with curse energy."
"Still… how?" he asked in confusion. "I mean… how?!"
She laughed. "We got that a lot," Chusi said and sighed. "Oh it was fun to see the looks on their faces, it was even better when they met Ryomen for the first time. They had NO IDEA what he could do at such a young age."
"Can we focus please?" Suguru asked. She gets like this too; she will start talking and yet always ends up talking about Sukuna at one point or another, in a most admiral, lovey dovey way.
She snapped out of it. "Ahem… sorry about that, but yes, in the Tooru family this was the basic thing you could do with curse energy. I don't know how or why it became limited to sorcerers or restricted to one person and having it be their main technique." She explained. "But just as you did before. You used reverse jujutsu on yourself"
He nodded and was rather proud, he can use reverse jujutsu!
"Now, we kicked it up!" she called. "Satoru can do that as well, BUT, he is limited to only using it on himself. We are going to train you so you can use it on anyone and everyone! Which is why we spar, you remember how a sorcerer grows and better understand their technique, right?"
"Near death experience, yes, but why…" Suguru froze.
He peered at Chusi who now bore a wicked look, much like Sukuna!
"This whole time we have sparred, I've been using reverse technique on you so your wounds don't end up as terrible. Yes, you are battered, bloodied and bruised, however, all my strikes against you have been more or less lethal." She said nonchalantly.
"Fatal…" he whispered to himself, but looking back on all the areas she has hit him, it makes sense, the bruising over his chest, she would strike where the vital organs are, the points on his arms and legs, pressure points…
"You see now, all this time, I have been going easy on you. Using my ability to awaken yours. That's why my strikes feel harder against your body. You are responsible for healing yourself from now on. For I have stopped the moment you learned this."
It sounded as if she were doing him a favor… in a sense, she was!
"Thank you for the warning…"
"Don't thank me yet!" she said as the devious smile returned to her. "I'll be sure Yua acknowledges you, and then, you join the clan." She decreed. "Until then, break's over, on your feet!"
