Change is inevitable, just like the seasons. It happens every day, no matter how small, change is always there. We don't always like it, but there's nothing we can do about it.
It was the day after Alex and Jo's wedding, the newlyweds are away from Seattle and on their honeymoon. The rest of the doctors were on their way to the hospital to just get back to work. April and Arizona walked across the parking lot to the entrance.
"That was a beautiful wedding," April said.
"Yeah, I thought so, too," Arizona said.
"Hey, wait for me," Jackson called from a distance.
The two ladies turned to see Jackson walking up with the twins in his arms.
"Hello my little nuggets," April said touching the cheeks of her kids. "Did they sleep well?"
"Yes," Jackson answered.
"Have you heard from Maggie? "April asked.
Jackson nodded his head, he grabbed his phone and showed the message Maggie had sent him; "She's on the plane and it's going to leave any minute."
"I hope she has a good flight, because Maggie is not really a fan of flying," Arizona said.
"She'll be fine, it's a four-hour flight, April said.
"I'll miss her, though," Arizona said.
Jackson agreed with Arizona; "So will I, but she couldn't pass up this opportunity. That hospital has one of the best cardio departments in the world and to be the head of it is just amazing."
"Hopefully we'll hear from her soon," April said.
"Do we know who the new Head of Cardio is?" Arizona asked.
"I know her name is Jenna Wyatt and have heard good things about her," Jackson said.
"I'm curious," April said.
"And April ready to go back to work?" Jackson asked.
April nodded; "Yes, looking forward to it again."
"And how is your work with the homeless going? And with... what else were you doing?" Arizona asked but she couldn't remember the other work April was doing.
"I help children who are sick."
"And you're sure you're feeling better?" Jackson asked.
"I feel good, I'm really ready to work again," April answered.
"I just want to make sure and help you," Jackson said.
"Okay, then you take Harriet and Quentin to daycare," April said.
But before Jackson could answer, April and Arizona walked away, leaving Jackson with the twins. Jackson took a look at his children and smiled; "Yep, your mommy is back."
Bailey and Ben were in the coffee shop getting their coffee.
"Are you sure you want this Miranda?"
Bailey turned to her husband; "Yes, Ben I want this, I've given this a lot of thought."
"But you've worked so hard to become Chief and now you're leaving it to someone else?" He asked.
"It's only temporary, I need some rest," Bailey said,
"But Teddy's already said she doesn't want the job, so who are you gonna ask to be Interim Chief?" Ben asked.
"I'll figure it out, don't worry about it," Bailey said.
Bailey and Ben got the call that their coffee was ready with, they got their coffee, wished each other good luck at work, gave each other a kiss and left the coffee shop.
Amelia who was also in the coffee shop overheard the whole conversation between Bailey and Ben; "Interim Chief, interesting."
Meredith walked into the hospital texting and wishing Alex and Jo and happy honeymoon. She put her phone away and saw a young woman standing at the front desk looking around, as if looking for someone. Meredith walked up to the woman.
"Can I help you?" She asked.
"Yes, where can I find Attending's Lounge?" The woman asked Meredith.
"You can walk with me, I have to go there too," Meredith said.
"Oh thank you," she said and the woman began to walk with Meredith toward the Attending's Lounge. "Let me introduce myself, Dr. Jenna Wyatt."
"The new head of Cardio," Meredith said
"That's me," Jenna said.
"Nice to meet you. I'm..," Meredith began.
"You don't need an introduction, I know who you are, Dr. Meredith Grey, I saw you when you received your award," Jenna said.
"Well, then we've covered that part. Welcome to Grey-Sloan," Meredith said to Jenna.
"Thank you," she said.
"Here we are," Meredith said as she and Jenna arrived at the Attending's Lounge. Meredith opened the door and entered with Jenna.
Jenna looked around the room; "Looks cozy." She put her bag on the table and turned to Meredith. "Also, do you know where I can find scrubs?"
"You walk out the door here and then the third door from the right, Meredith instructed.
"Thank you," Jenna said.
"You're welcome," She said.
The door opened, Tom and a young man walked in.
"And that's the Attending's Lounge, Tom said.
"Dr. Koracick," Meredith said.
"Dr. Grey and person I don't know yet," Tom said.
"Dr. Jenna Wyatt, new Head of Cardio," Jenna said as she introduced herself.
"I'm Tom Koracick and this here is my Fellow Kyle Nolan."
"Hello," Kyle greeted, giving a quick wave to Meredith and Jenna.
"Nice to meet you," Meredith said.
"I have trained Kyle here since he was an Intern," Tom said proudly.
"It's great to be working with you again Dr. Koracick," Kyle said.
"Glad to hear that," Tom said.
Meredith and Jenna left the room. Tom took a present out of his pocket and gave it to Kyle; "Here you go this is for you."
"What is it?" He asked.
"Just open it and you will see," Tom said.
Kyle opened the gift and inside was a scrub cap with otters on it; "A scrub cap?"
"With otters, I know that's your favorite animal," Tom said.
"Thank you Dr. Koracick," Kyle said.
"You're welcome Kyle and call me sensei," Tom said.
"Sensei?" Kyle asked with a confusing look on his face.
"I trained you, I taught you all my techniques, like Mr. Miyagi taught Daniel LaRusso everything in the Karate Kid, I'm your Mr. Miyagi," Tom explained.
"Okay," Kyle said feeling even more confused than before.
Arizona and April were in the locker room changing into their scrubs.
"Are you sure you want to go back to work April?" Arizona asked her friend.
"Yes, I'm ready to go again," April replied.
"I think Bailey will understand if you stay away a little longer, you've been through a lot," Arizona said.
"I'm fine again," April said as she turned to Arizona. "Don't worry."
Arizona opened her mouth to say something, but then the locker room door opened and Amelia came in.
"Hi."
"Hi, Amelia," April said.
"You're cheerful today," Arizona said.
"That's because I heard something very interesting," Amelia said.
"What is it?"
Amelia looked around her to see if anyone else was around and if no one else was coming; "Can you keep a secret?"
April and Arizona nodded their heads.
"Bailey is quitting as Chief," Amelia said.
"What Bailey is quitting?!" April shouted
"Not so loud," Amelia said.
"That's big news," Arizona said.
"I can't believe Bailey is quitting," April said.
"It's only temporary, and now she's looking for an interim chief," Amelia explained.
"How do you know about this?" Arizona asked.
"I happened to hear this when she and Ben were discussing it at the coffee shop," Amelia explained.
"Interim Chief Robbins, that sounds good," Arizona smiled.
"Not gonna happen," Amelia said determined.
"Why? Does Bailey already have a candidate?" Arizona asked.
"She asked Teddy."
"What, is Teddy coming back?" April asked.
"No, she turned down the job," Amelia said.
With a smile on her face Arizona nodded; "So then Interim Chief Robbins is still happening."
"I don't think so, I didn't tell you guys to go for the job, if anyone's gonna be Interim Chief here, it's gonna be me," Amelia said pointing to herself.
"Oh, it is?" Arizona asked.
"I mean, you wouldn't even know this if I hadn't told you," Amelia pointed out.
"And now you've got competition," Arizona said.
"Bring it on," Amelia said.
"Maybe it'll be me," April said.
"You April?" Amelia asked.
"I'm loyal, honest, organized and I was Chief Resident, so I think I'm right for the job," April said.
"Well that the best woman win," Arizona said.
"Oh she will," Amelia said. And by she, I mean me.
April's pager went off and she looked to see what it was; "Incoming trauma."
April and Arizona left the locker room and went to work. Amelia stayed and to get changed.
Somewhere else away from Seattle, Alex and Jo were on their honeymoon, they arrived at a beach, they put down their stuff and went sunbathing.
Bailey arrived at her office, she had just sat down when there was a knock on her door; "Come in," she said. The door opened and Webber walked into the office.
"Morning Bailey," Webber greeted
"Good morning Dr. Webber," Bailey greeted back.
"Everything okay?" Webber asked.
"Yep," Bailey asked.
"I heard the new Head of Cardio has arrived," Webber said.
"That's good news," Bailey said. "And today also starts the new Head of Ortho, he turns out to be an Ortho God and we're lucky to have him."
"That's good news," Webber said.
"Dr. Webber if you don't mind, I have an appointment with Dr. Hunt in a minute," Bailey said.
"I understand, bye Bailey," Webber said.
Webber left the office again and less than a few seconds later there was another knock at the door. Bailey said to come in and the door opened an Owen entered the office; "You wanted to see me Chief," he said.
"Dr. Hunt please sit down," Bailey said pointing to the chair in front of her desk
Owen sat down; "It's actually good that you wanted to speak to me, there is something that wants to discuss with you."
"Me first Dr. Hunt," Bailey said.
"Sure go ahead," Owen said.
"As you know I had a heart attack not long ago," Bailey said.
"So I've heard," Owen said.
"And I decided to take it easy, so I'm looking for someone to temporarily take over as Chief and Dr. Hunt, I want you to do that," Bailey said.
"Me?" Owen asked.
"Yes, you were Chief before me and you did an excellent job, so if I leave the job to you I know the hospital is in good hands," Bailey said.
"That's very kind of you to say that Dr. Bailey and I feel honored," Owen began
"Well, we'll just have to sort some things out and then you'll start as soon as possible "Bailey said.
"But unfortunately, I have to turn down the job," Owen said.
"What did you just say?"
"There's something I need to discuss with you," Owen said.
April walked into the Pit, she walked up to Schmitt; "What do we have here Schmitt?" She asked.
"Car vs. cyclist, Nisha Chopri the cyclist, has an open femur fracture," Schmitt said.
April walked over to Nisha and saw that the girl had the bike still wrapped around.
"The bike couldn't be removed at the sight of the accident," Schmitt said.
"Let's get to work," April said.
"She's a human bike rack," Schmitt jokingly said.
"Schmitt."
"Sorry, not funny at all, I know it," Schmitt said.
April walked over to the patient and started to check up on her. One of the paramedics walked over to her; "Bike frame seems to be tamponading a pretty serious thigh bleed, so we wanted to make sure to get her into a controlled environment for the extraction."
"We're gonna need ortho for this Dr. Kepner," Schmitt said.
"There's some new hotshot ortho guy, let's get him," April said.
Meredith and Jenna walked into the Pit.
"What's going on?" Meredith asked.
"Car accident, can you please look at the other patient?" April asked.
Meredith and Jenna walked up to the older woman, with her was a paramedic.
"Who do we have here?" Meredith asked.
"This is Cece Colvin the driver, she told us she lost consciousness behind the wheel."
"Oh, my God, I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry!" Cece said as she kept looking over to Nisha
"Ms. Colvin, I'm Dr. Wyatt, I'm going to listen to your heart now okay," Jenna said.
"I'm so sorry," Cece repeated.
"It's okay," Jenna said and she started to listen Cece's heart. "I don't hear an irregular heart rhythm."
Jackson came over and walked over to April; "Do you want me to take over for you? How do you want me to help you?"
"Jackson I got this okay, if you really want to help, look at that injury on her shoulder," April said.
Jackson did as April said and looked at the injury Nisha had on her shoulder. Meredith and Jenna continued to examine Cece.
Webber was walking down, when a woman walked in holding on the a man, who was groaning and holding on to his stomach.
"Uh, what's the matter here?" Webber asked.
"Uh, he was on the floor in the bathroom screaming, I think it might be a heart attack."
"It's my stomach. It's just my stomach."
Webber saw Parker and Rooney walking: Dr. "Parker, Dr. Rooney please help this man check in."
"Right away Dr. Webber," Parker said.
Arizona walked quietly down the hallway with a coffee in her hand, she saw that Qadri walked up to her.
"I'm on your service today Dr. Robbins," she said.
Before Arizona could say anything else, her pager went off and she looked at it.
"We are going straight to the action, Qadri we have a case," Arizona said.
Arizona and Qadri hurried toward the ambulance bay. The ambulance pulled up, the doors opened and the paramedics took out a little boy.
"Who do we have here?" Arizona asked.
"Chase McGregor, 7 years old, fell out of the top bunk and hit his head and he hasn't regain consciousness," the paramedic explained.
"Please save my son," a woman coming out of the ambulance begged, together with an other boy
"Mother Samantha and his older brother Troy."
"Get them to the waiting room. We're gonna get them into head CT as soon as possible," Arizona said.
"Yes, Dr. Robbins," Qadri said.
"And page Neuro and tell them to get over there," Arizona said.
Qadri grabbed her pager and did what Arizona said.
Amelia stood in front of the snack machine and looked at what was in the machine, Tom came walking up to her with Kyle.
"And this is here is Dr. Amelia Shepherd," Tom said as he introduced her to Kyle.
"Tom and whoever you may be, Amelia said.
"Kyle Nolan, I'm Dr. Koracik's fellow," Kyle said reaching out his hand, Amelia looked at his hand and shook it.
"I thought you didn't like being anybody's teacher," Amelia said.
"I only train someone when I find them worthwhile," Tom said. And look at you, a result of my training."
"I've heard a lot about you Dr. Shepherd, it's an honor to work with you, Kyle said.
"So are you thinking of becoming Interim Chief," Tom said.
"I think so...," Amelia began, she realized that she didn't tell anybody besides April and Arizona about the job and wonder how Tom knew. LWait how do you know?"
"I'm Dr. Tom Koracick, I know everything."
"He overheard your conversation you had in the changing room," Kyle said.
"Be quiet Kyle-san," Tom said.
"Kyle-san?" Amelia asked.
Kyle shook his head; "Don't ask," he said.
Tom heard his pager go off and grabbed it; "Someone needs my help, Come with me Kyle-san."
Kyle sighed and followed Tom, Amelia couldn't help but laugh a little.
Tom and Kyle walked into the CT room and saw Arizona and Qadri sitting by the computers.
Tom walked up to Arizona; "What do we have here?"
"Chase McGregor fell out of his bunk bed and hit his head," Arizona said.
"Scans are up, Dr. Robbins," Qadri said.
The four doctors took a look at the screen; "There's minor bleeding and a lump," Tom said.
"His brain is almost pressing against the skull," Arizona said.
"We can fix this, simple surgery," Tom said.
"What are you gonna do, Doctor?" Qadri asked.
"Dr. Koracick will make a small hole in the skull, this will make room and it will fix the swelling," Kyle said.
"That's right."
"Schedule an OR. The sooner we do this, the better," Arizona said.
"Right away, Dr. Robbins," Qadri said.
Jo was still lying down and enjoying the sun. Alex walked in with two drinks in his hand.
"This one is for you Mrs. Karev," Alex said.
Jo sat up straight and took the drink; "Thank you, Mr. Wilson."
"A toast to us," Alex said.
"To us," Jo said as she and Alex toasted. "We're married. Can you believe it?"
"Believe it, we are husband and wife," Alex said.
"And now we're enjoying our honeymoon," Jo said.
"And then we can start our family," Alex said.
Jo almost choked on her drink when she heard Alex talking about kids.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah, drank too fast, that's all," Jo said.
"Jo."
"Now shall we just get on with enjoying our honeymoon?" Jo asked
Without another word, Jo and Alex continued drinking their drinks. Jo didn't look at Alex and just looked at the sea.
Bailey was sitting in her office quietly going through some paper work, there was a knock on the door and a few seconds later Amelia walked into the office.
"Dr. Shepherd how can you help?" She asked.
"You can help me by letting me help you," Amelia said.
"What do you mean?" Bailey asked.
"I have heard that you are looking for an Interim Chief and I hereby offer myself for the job," Amelia said.
"How do you know I'm looking for an Interum Chief?" Bailey asked.
"I may have overheard the conversation you had with your husband at the coffee shop," Amelia admitted. "So what do you think, Dr. Bailey?"
"Please leave my office," Bailey said.
Amelia got up and walked toward the door.
"Dr. Shepherd the other doctors don't know about this, do they?"
"Umh,"
"Leave."
"Okay."
DeLuca and his sister were walking down the hallway on their way to the X-ray room. They entered and saw Webber, Parker and Rooney sitting there.
"You paged me, Dr. Webber?" The DeLuca siblings asked in unison.
Webber turned to Rooney and he just smiled awkwardly; "You didn't say which DeLuca, he said."
"I meant Carina, but her brother may as well enjoy this too," Webber said.
"I just heard there was a major trauma, Dr. Webber, so...," DeLuca began
"You'll want to see this, DeLuca, Webber said as he turned to Eli; "Rooney?"
"Male, severe abdominal pain. He didn't allude to why, but we think it may have something to do with this," Rooney said pointing to the screen.
The DeLuca sibling took a look at the x-rays on the screen.
"Are we taking bets on what this is?" Carina asked.
"I'm going with a candle," Webber said.
"My gut says soda can," Parker said.
"My money's on a shampoo bottle," Rooney said.
"Flashlight," Carina said.
"You know, that one's strangely popular," Webber said.
Carina nodded her head; "Mm-hmm."
Webber turned to the other DeLuca; "DeLuca?"
"Why would anybody want to do this to himself?" He asked.
"Because they're afraid to ask their wives to touch them inside there. They think their wives will think they're homosexual," Carina said.
"This does seem that way to me," Rooney said.
"Don't be stupid. Gay men know how to use proper sex toys that don't get lost up there," Carina said. "No. No, t-this is straight-man stupidity. The pleasure center resides just inside the anal canal for all men, gay or straight."
"All right, then," Webber said starting to feel uncomfortable.
"Wait, wait, wait. I want to hear this," Rooney said.
"The prostate is the male G-spot," Carina said.
"Seriously?"
"Yeah, Why do you think we're always pulling stuff out of men's butts?" Carina said.
"Why, indeed?" DeLuca asked.
April and Jackson were still in the Pit dealing with Nisha.
"My trauma room ready yet?" April asked.
"Sorry Dr. Kepner," Schmitt said.
"Somebody page Ortho again," April said. "I'm gonna need a portable scan."
"Did I die? Am I dead?" Nisha asked.
"Nisha, you are very much alive, okay," Jackson said.
"But I'm in Heaven. I never believed in Heaven before, but here I am, in Heaven," Nisha said.
"Nisha, this isn't Heaven," Jackson said.
"But you are so pretty. Like an angel in yellow," Nisha said.
"How is she? Is she gonna be all right?" Cece asked walking over to Nisha and sitting next to her.
Jenna walked to Cece; "Ma'am, I'm gonna need you back in a bed."
"Oh, I'm fine. I need to know how she is? Are her parents coming?"
"They're far, far away," Nisha said.
"I'm so sorry, love," Cece said as she put her hand on Nisha's shoulder.
"My mom calls me love, But I've never been in love. I didn't want to die before being in love, but I guess I had to die to find love, in Heaven."
"Child, are you kidding me? I'm a matchmaker. That's what I do. And not by hobby... by trade. You just stay alive, and I will dedicate my life to finding love for you."
"Excuse me, ma'am, seriously, we need you back in your bed while we review your EKG," Jenna said.
"I've had two heart transplants. If I drop dead right here, I would've already had a longer life than I probably should've. So, thank you, Doctor, but I am not leaving this girl alone," Cece said.
"Okay, ma'am, we have an ortho team coming in, so we're gonna have to move you to make room for..."
"Oh, my God," Nisha said as she stared dreamily in front of her
April and Jackson looked in the direction where Nisha was staring dreamily ahead, they saw a doctor come their way and stood beside Nisha's bed. April looked at his badge and saw that his name was Atticus Lincoln.
"Someone ask for an Ortho God?"
"It is Heaven!" Nisha said.
"She's got a nasty open-femur fracture for sure, but I do not want to take it off the metal" Link said.
"Tourniquet to control the bleeding before we take the metal bars off, right?" April said.
"Bingo," Link said, he began to feel Nisha's pulse and looked at his watch. "How you feeling, Nisha?"
"Oh, God, see? No one's ever asked me that, like really asked me. Is that what it's like being in love, like, in love, love?" Nisha said. "Like, where I'd wake up next to you and you'd ask me, "How did you sleep?" And that's... that's crazy. Who cares? I mean, I do it every night, but you actually want to know how it went. You want to know, How I'm feeling, Nisha."
"I do want to know that," Link said.
"All right, I think she's feeling all right," Jackson said.
April just simply nodded her head; "Mm."
"I am feeling everything right now," Nisha said.
"Pain?" Link asked.
"Everything but that," Nisha said.
"All right, we're gonna take this step by step. Forks, stem, headset, cut the top tube..." Link said.
"I don't follow that," Jackson said.
"Oh, you didn't work in a bike shop, bud" Link said.
"No, but apparently you did, bud," Jackson said.
"Four years, Venice Beach," Link said. "Can I get a socket wrench?"
"Okay, I'm gonna need these carpenters out of there so I can ultrasound the belly," April said.
"No, you're right," Jackson said. "Let's pick up the pace, guys, all right?"
"All right, I'm gonna twist this, Nisha," and you're gonna feel some pressure, okay? Link said. "But if it starts to hurt, you tell me, okay?"
"I love you. I love all of you. I love all of you the most," Nisha said grabbing Link's arm.
"Are we sure we shouldn't do a brain exam first?" Schmitt asked as he turned to April
"Schmitt shut up," April said.
Kyle and Qadri were preparing Chase for surgery, Arizona and Tom were talking to the mother.
"This is an easy operation," Arizona reassured.
"But you have to drill into my son's skull," Samantha said.
"That's the only way we can relieve the pressure," Arizona explained.
"If we don't, his brain will press against his skull and that could cause more damage," Tom said.
The mother began to breathe heavier and tears rolled down her cheek; "This is my fault, I should never have bought that bunk bed."
"Mrs. McGregor," Arizona began.
"Please call me Samantha," Samantha said.
"Samantha this is not your fault, accidents can happen and we're gonna do everything we can to make sure Chase gets better," Arizona said.
"Okay," Samantha said.
"They're ready for you Dr. Robbins and Dr. Koracick," Kyle said.
"We're gonna operate on your son now," Tom said.
Webber along with Parker and Rooney was telling his patient about his status.
"It's a major obstruction, and it's dangerous... we know that," Webber explained. "You're gonna need surgery for us to remove that, whatever it is."
"Great. Do it. I consent," Barry said
"Okay, with that said, if you had any idea what it could be, you should tell us, Webber said.
"It's a growth," Barry groaned. "Must have grown there. It's a growth. So, cut me open and take out the growth."
"Rooney, let's prep him for E.U.A. and possible ex lap."
"So, you have had two transplants, Ms. Colvin? "Jenna asked.
"You can call me Cece, please," Cece insisted. "And, yes, I have had two and am probably due for my third."
Jenna looked at the results on her tablet; "Your EKG looks perfectly normal, but something did cause you to pass out at the wheel, so I would like to run more tests, if that's okay?"
"Fine," Cece said.
"I'll consult with Dr. Grey and then I'll be right back," Jenna said.
Jo was sitting on her towel and was busy reading a magezine will Alex stared at her.
"Why are you staring?" She asked.
"I'm sorry I talked about kids on our honeymoon. It was stupid. It was just.. it just popped into my head," Alex said.
"Alex," Jo began
"Like, I could see our kids playing in the snow, having fun, which is...You know, kids, snow. It makes sense," Alex aid.
"Alex, shut up, please," Jo said.
Webber, the two interns and the DeLuca sibling were escorting Barry to the or.
"The desire for a prostate massage is absolutely normal and if you've a simple conversation with your wife, and explain to her you desire"
"Please stop," Barry begged.
"All she need is a manicure," Carina began.
"Ugh, can you please make her stop?" Barry begged.
"Not until you tell me what you put in there," Webber said.
"My wife's…, "Barry began, but couldn't finish his sentence as he groaned of the pain. "Hair stuff."
"Shampoo," Rooney said. "Yes."
"Thank you, Dr. DeLuca," Webber said
"Any time," she said.
"I think I'm in love with your sister," Rooney said.
"Just get over here," DeLuca said annoyed.
Meredith and Jenna were busy checking up, the two Cece again and had figured out what happened to her and were now telling here.
"So, my broken-down heart is costing me my kidneys now?" Cece asked.
"It's not your heart," Jenna said.
"It's the anti-rejection meds you take for your heart. They had a toxic effect on your kidneys," Meredith explained.
"So I need a kidney transplant?" Cece asked.
"We've already called UNOS, but until they can find you one, you're gonna need peritoneal dialysis every night for hours," Meredith said. "I'll do a small surgery and insert a catheter to make that possible, okay?"
"Can you put me in a recovery room beside Nisha, the girl I hurt? I-I want to be with her till her parents arrive," Cece said.
"Well, I can certainly check," Meredith said.
"Then I consent to the surgery," Cece said. "Now let's talk about you. You've been single for how long now?"
"Cece," Meredith chuckled. "I'm happy just as I am."
"Well, of course you are. How could you not be... a beautiful, accomplished doctor like yourself? But is there a cap on happiness? And who couldn't use a little more? And who couldn't enjoy sharing it a little? I could help you if you'd let me, Dr. Grey. I'm the UNOS of love."
Jackson, April, Link and Schmitt were in the OR and were working on Nisha.
"So, you just moved to Seattle?" Jackson asked.
"No, I've been here a while," Link said.
"Oh."
"I was the team doc for the Mariners," Link said.
"Do you get tickets, or...?" Jackson began.
"Lot of tickets," Link said.
"And how's your first day going, Dr. Lincoln?" April asked.
"Going great. Be going even better if you called me Link," Link said.
"Oh, okay, I'll try," April said.
While Carina watched from the gallery, Webber, DeLuca, Parker and Rooney were getting started with the surgery.
"Since we couldn't get it out with the E.U.A., we need to open the sigmoid to access it from above," Webber explained. "All right, we are going to make an opening in the sigmoid colon."
Webber asked for a scalpel and cut open the patient, while DeLuca suctioned. Suddenly Webber felt something unusual; "Hold on. Something feels hard."
"There's a small bleeder here," Rooney said.
"Stop. Wait, okay?" Webber said.
"I got it," Rooney said.
"Let me get a clamp," Webber said.
Rooney didn't listen and suddenly there was bang, his sleep got on fire and the object came out of the patient and flew across the room.
"Rooney, back away!" Webber yelled.
"Watch out!" Parked shouted.
DeLuca tackled Rooney to the ground, the rest of the people in the or, try to dodge the flaming object. The monitor started beeping rapidly
"Get more lap pads! He's crashing!" Parker said.
"I need some water over here!" Said a nurse.
Webber and Bookhee threw water over the patient stomach and started putting down pads as fast as they could.
"What the hell happened?" DeLuca asked.
"It was aerosol hair spray... not shampoo... and it exploded," Webber said. "Is he all right?"
Rooney covered with burn marks on his right side of his face and on his right arm, looked at Webber; Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm okay," he said. "Thanks, man. You saved my life."
"Got this bleeding under control," Webber said. "Paker get me two units of blood."
"Yes, Dr. Webber," Parker said, he quickly ran to get the blood.
"I need two vascular clamps. More laps here. "Okay. I need to divert with a colostomy. Okay, more suction in here," Webber said. "Talk to me, Rooney."
"He... He exploded," Rooney said.
"Not until after I told you to back away and you didn't. Get him out of here," Webber said. "DeLuca, you were very brave, but I need you to scrub back in and help me try and stop this bleeding."
DeLuca nodded his head. "Yes, sir," he said.
"More suction," Webber said.
"I've got the blood Dr. Webber," Parker said.
"Parker I need you to go check up on Rooney Webber said.
"Understood," Parker said.
Arizona, Tom, Kyle and Qadri were in another OR busy with Chase's surgery.

Kyle walked over to where Tom was standing and took over the drill; "Thank you for the opportunity Dr. Koracick," he said.
"Sensei, call me sensei," Tom said. "And don't screw it up."
"I'll make sure it doesn't," Kyle said.
"How about we put some music on here?" Tom said.
"What?" Kyle asked.
"Still a fan of country music?" Tom asked.
"Yeah, but this doesn't seem like a good time," Kyle said.
"If you don't want to pick something, I'll pick something," Tom said. "Put on my playlist, please."
The nurse grabbed Tom's phone and put on music, Tom began to move along to the music, while Kyle began to drill a hole in the skull
Meredith was in the or, Cece was lying on the table.
"Okay, Cece, this is going to be quick and easy," Meredith said. "You should be out for less than minutes. Any questions?"
"Just give me broad strokes of what you're looking for in a man so I can think about it while I sleep," Cece said.
"I'm not really looking. I'm not against it. I'm open to the idea of something coming along, but I'm not out there looking for it," Meredith said.
"Okay, I respect that," Cece said. "And I'd like to be taken off the UNOS kidney list."
"What?"
"I don't feel like we need to get out here and look for a kidney, do we? Cece asked. "Let's just wait and hope one comes squishing through the door on its own."
Meredith turend to the anesthesiologist; "Would you put her under, please?"
The anesthesiologist did as Meredith said and placed the mask on Cece.

"Charge again, 350"
"Come on, Barry. Fight for it," DeLuca said. "Clear"
And again DeLuca shocked Barry, but nothing and then he started to flatline.
"I'm calling it," Webber said.
"No! Let me try again," DeLuca begged.
"DeLuca."
"Just one more time, Dr. Webber, please, okay? I'm kind of on a roll today," DeLuca said. "Charge to 360"

"Or just completely gone," Arizona said.
"And then he'll need to recover, two weeks bed rest we recommend," Tom said.

"I ask someone to take her to him," Webber said.
"I should have saved him,0 DeLuca said.
"DeLuca this is not your fault," Webber said.
"But he didn't have to die, we could have...," DeLuca began but he was unable to find the right words to describe his feeling. "How's Dr. Rooney?"
"He no longer works here," Webber said.
"What?"
"He ignored an order and as a result things went wrong, he put patient at risk and everyone in the OR," Webber explained.

Alex carried Jo across the beach and came out to another part of the stand, there was a four poster bed there. Alex set Jo down again.
"What's this?" She asked.
"This is where we are going to sleep tonight," Alex said.
"But how did you do this?" Jo asked.
"I was taking a walk to clear my head and I came right here and settled some things. No one bother us, it's just the two of us," Alex said proudly.
