Taisho raised an eyebrow, and only the tight clip at the base of her neck stopped her from running an aggravated hand through her hair. As it was, she gave the young fox kit a pointed look over the instructor's shoulder. "We have talked about that, Itazura-kun. Do I need to inform your mother that you are incapable of following instructions?" The boy shook his head, those around him twittering as he returned to his bowstrings.
"Is this a situation I need to be aware of?" Taisho asked, amusement softening his tone.
Pinching the bridge of her nose, Kagome shook her head. "The students are quite enthusiastic about their teachers and have somehow taken it upon themselves to meddle in my love life whenever possible," she replied, eventually straightening and raising her voice. "But we are past that, right?" The group chorused their affirmation, a few nudging Shippou before they all took their places in front of their targets. Taisho excused himself to inspect their posture, allowing her to examine him as he did so.
The creases of his midnight hakama were crisp, and he appeared well-versed in the subject, making slight adjustments when needed. But with how hard the team had been practicing, there wasn't much to be done, and he ended up at the back of the room with her as arrows began to fly through the air.
"Hojo mentioned a match coming up," he said, eyes moving every time a string tightened.
Kagome nodded, pulling out her phone for the details. "Everything has been set up, but they won't be able to go without supervision." She clicked a button, then met his gaze. "I still need to find a replacement for his art classes, but will you be able to cover their practices until Hojo returns?"
He gave her an odd look. "He did not inform you as to the details of his absence?"
She blinked in confusion, then shook her head. "He wasn't sure how long he'd be gone but was more worried about the match than anything else."
"I must instruct him on divulging the whole story before becoming distracted."
"What do you mean?"
"I will be replacing him in the classroom as well."
