Part 3
Sydney watched as Dr. Linda Davis examined Serena's injuries. Dr. Davis was new from when she herself had last spent time in medical services. She noticed him before he spoke. While she had left this life mostly behind her three years ago after she helped take down Prophet 5, stopped Sloane from his quest to rule the world, and her mothers death because the woman would not let her quest of Rambaldi go.
"Dixson accepted her as a double?"
"Yes Agent Graves. Your stepsister is tough. If she could survive a trip to a crazy Asian dentist then she is pretty damn strong." Said Sydney
"Lentz does do one thing right train his agents to withstand torture well."
"Well he was part of the Alliance from what I understand. Sloane did that to me. Though I know of one civilian and one tech wiz that have survived trips to one too. Though my mouth still hurts once in a while when I eat ice cream."
"Agent Bristow, I love Serena. I never saw her as just my stepsister. To me she is my sister and when I found out that Lentz was going to have her killed I was ready to kill him myself. I only stopped myself because I know I have to play the long game. It is only the second inning and it is at least a nine inning game. He might have the bases loaded with two outs and full count at the plate but with Serena now on our side he is about to strike out and we have a chance to take the lead in our next at bat."
"You like baseball."
"Wanted to be the next Ken Griffey Jr. As a kid. But that was never to be."
"I think the CIA has a baseball team that place against other teams in the government's alphabet soup."
"Well as not only a field agent but a double I can't be on the team."
"Maybe one day you can."
"Maybe. Serena will most likely think you can take Den-16 down in the matter of months. But it is far from true. It is going to take a lot longer than she realizes."
"Agent Graves this is not my first Rodeo. I have been part of the take down of the Alliance, the Covenant and Prophet 5. I know this wont happen over night."
"I know that. I just don't think Serena understands how big this really is. There are 30 member cells of the Pack. We only have at least one agent in maybe a dozen of them counting the ones our allies have at least one agent in."
"The Pack will fall like ever other one like them before."
"I just hope that it is with as few deaths of those that were tricked as possible."
"So do I. That is the one part of this job that I hate the most. The death of people who were tricked into working for the enemy."
Dr. Davis walked over to the two agents while Serena sat on the examination bed.
"How is she doc?" asked Steven
"Nothing broken. Just a lot of bruises. Luckily whoever extracted her tooth did it without causing nerve damage. I have given her some antibiotics and painkillers. Only twenty of the pain killers." Said Dr. Davis
"She tell you that she is allergic to penicillin?" asked Steven
"Yes I am giving her doxycycline. It is one of the best for soft tissue and gum infections." Said Dr. Davis
"Will Serena be ok?" asked Steven
"Agent Graves all I can tell you is that she will be physically fine once she heals up. Emotionally I am not qualify to determine." Said Dr. Davis
"You think she should have a psychological evaluation?" asked Sydney
"It is SOP. But I don't think she will be receive of the idea."
"Definitely not." Said Steven
"I think it can be skipped for now. Unless Director Dixon orders one I am not going to send her to Winters."
"Winters is better then sending her to Larson. That man is an ass." Said Steven
"Barnett was no picnic to see. Though she is no longer with the company. Not since Sloane used her to gain access to classified information that he had no right to." Said Sydney
"I take it you didn't see her by choice." Said Steven
"Let's just say that being forced to talk about our feelings is not something anyone in my family finds easy. I might be the most stable emotionally of my known family members. Not counting my daughter who if her father and I get our way will have no part of this life."
"Sometimes I don't think all of us have choices on what we do in life. That for some of us everything is planned when we are born by a higher power." Said Steven
"I am not very religious." Said Sydney
"Neither am I. But history has a way of repeating itself. Take for example how the Egyptians in ancient times persecuted and enslaved the Jews. The British colonist who became the first Americans they did the same to the African people even kidnapping them from their home. The Nazis weren't the only ones that singled out a group of people. The Holocaust gets more attention due to the fact that the Nazis tried to wipe out the Jews and homosexuals. But the United States is not innocent when it comes to singling out people. They locked up thousands of Japanese Americas after Pearl Harbor. They feared these innocent people were spies." Said Steven
"I had history classes in school Agent Graves."
"True, but history is a passion of Serena's. Her dad was a history professor. Or at least that is what everyone believes."
"You don't believe it?"
"I think that your own history should tell you that not everyone is what they believe to be. My father is with the NSA. He did some digging. My mother who disappeared when I was nine he was able to find out was not who she claimed to be. Turns out she was not a music history professor named Christina Ross like she claimed. Her real name is Katrina Kozlov a KGB agent. Of course he learned this after she disappeared. He also found out she had a brother who was with the KGB. But has never been able to find out his name."
"What does Serena's mom do?"
"She works for the Department of Defense as an intelligence analyst."
"That could make her a target. I will get our people to do some digging."
"Her father is listed as Alexander Turner."
"It will be taken care of. Besides it wouldn't be the first time that one or more KGB agent has targeted."
"Referring to your own mother Irina Derveko? Don't act surprised Agent Bristow you are kind of a legend."
"Most legends are dead."
"Yeah well none of them are Sydney Bristow." Said Agent Eric Weiss
Sydney turned to look at her friend.
"Dixson wants to come to his office. I will keep an eye on our newest double agent." Said Eric
"Agent Bristow think you can convince the director to get me a new handler? My current one is an ass." Said Steven
"Who is your handler?"
"Seth Lambert." Said Steven
"That idiot is still here? I will see what I can do." Said Sydney
"I take it there is a history between her and Lambert?" asked Steven
"Big time. Let's just say if Syd gets her hands on him it won't be pretty. By the way I thought your handler was Amanda Wilkins." Said Eric
"She was. But she is out on medical leave for the next couple months. She broke her leg."
"Dixson will listen to Syd. He loves her like one of his kids."
"Good. Now if only I could convince Serena that I love her as much as my biological sister."
"You saved her life. That might have put cracks in her wall."
"Hope so."
Katrina Kozlov walked into a room that held a woman in her mid thirties. The woman turned to her. The woman stood out in contrast to not only the people of Hong Kong but to most of the others she had been around for close to eight years. Her chocolate brown skin was not common within the organization that Katrina and her brother ran.
"Am I ever going to be able to return home?" asked the woman
"In time my dear. Though it will be a surprise to those that knew you. They believe you were killed by an agent of Arvin Sloane. But once you are reunited with your friend Sydney she and the CIA can help resurrect you."
Katrina left locking the door behind her. She would never understand why Irina would not tell Sydney that her friend was alive. That Irina had already replaced the real Francie with a double who volunteered to be killed in place of the real Francie Calfo.
Bet no one saw that twist coming. Before you ask yes this woman is really Francie. I never liked that they killed her so I figured a way to bring her back.
