Ch20 - Strange Case Pt3

My phone buzzed, it was Regina...

I answered.

"Hey" She spoke. "Emma, we have a problem..." I sighed softly, before answering. "What kind of problem?" She replied. "It's Jekyll..." I spoke. "What happened, is it the serum? Is it ready?" She didn't answer, so I spoke again. "Where are you?" She answered. "Down at the docks, Jekyll's dead"

I gasped softly, before speaking again.

"What about Hyde?" She paused briefly. "He's dead, too" I sighed again, this time in relief; I turned to face my dad, before speaking again. "We're on our way"

I ended the call, before turning to face my dad; who looked confused. I spoke.

"That was Regina, Jekyll's dead"

My dad stuttered, before speaking.

"What about Hyde?"

I nodded, before answering.

"He's dead too" I sighed again, before continuing. "Regina's down at the docks"

My dad nodded, as we made our way to the harbour; my mind raced, as we got closer to Killian's ship. As we got closer, I spotted Gold; as he stood over Hyde's body. Belle was standing on the deck of the Jolly Roger, and I noticed she looked rather pale.

I spoke.

"What the hell happened?"

Gold, stared at me; before speaking.

"A sick twist of fate"

I tilted my head, in confusion; wishing he would elaborate, a bit more. I stared at him, as he walked off; I spotted Killian, he was standing over Jekyll's body.

I made my way towards him; his head lifted, when he heard movement. He smiled, when he realised it was me; that's when I noticed, that it didn't reach his eyes.

I couldn't help but wonder, how Jekyll got onto the ship; what with a protection spell surrounding it, I got closer. I then placed my hand on Killian's arm, silently hoping he knew, it was a comforting gesture.

I then pulled him into a hug, before speaking.

"How did he get onto your ship?"

He shrugged, before answering.

"I'm not sure love, but somehow he did; he also tried to harm Belle, but thankfully he didn't get the chance. She called for me, and when I got here; he and I fought and next thing I knew, he fell back onto the harpoon"

I nodded, knowing he didn't mean for it to happen; it was clear he was acting in self defence, I guess we were worried about the wrong person. I called my dad over, to help remove Jekyll's body.

The second his body was placed on the pier, my dad draped a blanket over them; I nodded, before turning around. Regina was standing a few feet away, facing the water; as I got closer, I noticed she looked stunned.

I spoke.

"You ok?"

She sighed softly, before answering.

"I have to die"

Die? No she can't die, what about Henry? I spoke again.

"What?"

She continued.

"To stop the Evil Queen, I have to die; that's how it works, that's not the only bad news I got today...we all thought that Jekyll was the good one, but even though; he separated himself from the darkness, the capacity for evil remained"

I sighed softly, whilst nodding; I then spoke.

"And it remains in you..."

She nodded briefly, before speaking again.

"It can grow back at any time" I interrupted her. "You're stronger than Jekyll..."

She spoke again.

"Maybe, but if I'm not...back in Camelot, when you were the Dark One; you said you trusted me, to do what it took to keep your family safe. I need you to promise me, you'll do the same thing; if it comes to that..." I interrupted her again. "I won't let it, come to that" Her gaze bore into mine, as she continued. "Promise..."

I nodded, knowing that it was the only thing I could do; as I couldn't form the words, my thoughts drifted to Henry. At least he would have my parents, and he would also have Killian; but I'm not going to let Regina die, I won't let it come to that.

We made our way back towards everyone, my dad was standing beside Killian; I made my way over to them, my dad smiled at me.

I returned it, before turning to look at Killian; he looked at me, before he pulled me into a hug. He pulled me closer, I could hear my dad back off slightly; I turned my head slightly, my dad smiled again.

He spoke. "You guys head home, I'll deal with this" as he gestured to Jekyll and Hyde's bodies, I nodded; before thanking him.

Killian, pulled away; before speaking.

"I'll be back in a couple of minutes, love"

I nodded, as he boarded his ship again; disappearing down the hatch, to the Captain's Quarters. I smiled softly, because it was finally happening; Killian was officially moving in today.

My gaze drifted to Belle and Gold, I noticed she didn't look too pleased; I couldn't hear what they were saying, but it didn't look good.

I heard my name being called, I turned; it was Killian, he was holding a small chest. I smiled, before speaking; in a slight teasing tone.

"That's it? Just one chest?"

He nodded, before he spoke.

"Yes love, it's funny; as Belle asked the same question earlier, and as I told her the seafaring life doesn't call much for possessions"

I sighed softly, before speaking; in the same teasing tone, as before.

"I see, well I guess; closet space won't be an issue"

He looked at me, perplexed; before speaking.

"Do you mind explaining, what that means love?...It's just that Belle said the same thing earlier"

I laughed softly, before speaking.

"It's a place to store clothes, shoes; that kind of thing and when a couple move in together, they share closet space. So when Belle mentioned it, she meant; that it wouldn't be an issued, because you aren't bringing a lot with you"

He nodded, before smiling; I could tell he understood now, he placed the chest down on the ground. I followed the movement, before I was pulled into another hug; only for it, be followed by a light kiss.

After a few minutes, I leaned back; before speaking.

"So, you ready to go home?"

He nodded, before we made our way back into town; my car was parked outside the station, when we got there. He placed his chest on the back seat, before climbing into the car.

I followed, getting into the drivers side. We made the short journey back to my place...well our place now, when we got there; we climbed the steps, I unlocked the door, opening it.

I looked at him, before gesturing for him to enter; he placed his chest on the ground again, I half expected him to kiss me again. When he didn't, I peered up at him; before shrieking, as he lifted me into his arms.

I wrapped my arms around his neck, before he carried me over the threshold; I giggled, before speaking.

"Killian, you didn't need to do that; we aren't married yet..."

He grinned, before speaking.

"I know, it's a wedding night custom; but, I wanted to do it anyway"

He trailed off, as he looked at me; I leaned in, and whispered.

"Welcome home"

He smiled at me, before placing his lips on mine; as he kicked the door shut, with his foot...
