Ch22 - Street Rats (The Secret's Out)
I sat back in the chair, as Jasmine's gaze met mine; I knew I had to help her, as it's the only way I'm going to get answers...
I got up, before opening the door; I inclined my head, gesturing that Jasmine could leave; she stared at me, before I spoke.
"You're free to go"
Jasmine smiled at me, before walking out of the room; my mom smiled at her, before suggesting that she go back to the loft with her and my dad. My dad smiled at me, before they headed out; I still can't believe, Aladdin's real. I guess every Disney character is real, well almost all of them.
I tried to clear my head, before gathering what we needed to track Aladdin down; I gathered a backpack, flashlights, and other essentials.
I then headed out to my car, opening the hood; crouching down, before opening the backpack. I placed all the items inside, before checking the flashlights; I was about to place them in the bag, when Archie approached me.
He spoke.
"Emma, we need to talk"
I sighed softly, before answering.
"I don't remember scheduling another session"
I really don't have time for this, I looked up at him; before continuing.
"Did we schedule another session?"
He stuttered.
"No, no, no, no; but I was just thinking about your situation, and I just couldn't let go of it. And I think we've got more to explore, with that vision"
I stood up, placing the backpack into the hood of my car; closing it, while speaking.
"I don't think we need to, things have changed" as I moved towards the drivers side, Archie spoke again. "They? They have?" I turned to face him, before speaking.
"There's another Saviour, one that came before me; and Archie...he's alive"
He stared at me, before I got into the car; he crouched down at the passenger side door, before speaking.
"Wait, another Saviour?"
I spoke again, while buckling my seatbelt.
"Yeah...Aladdin, you know like "A whole new world" and magic carpets; Aladdin, he made it...he's, ok which means if he is...then maybe, the vision doesn't matter. Maybe it's wrong, maybe all Saviour's don't die; and then it's ok, that I can tell my family. Because there's nothing to tell, see ya"
I drove off, leaving a slightly confused Archie behind; I made my way back to the loft. I just about got inside, only to step back in surprise; as Killian, Henry, Regina, Jasmine and my parents all greeted me.
I spoke.
"What's wrong?"
Regina spoke.
"We just hit a dead end, trying to find Aladdin" my eyes widened, as I stepped further into the room; as my mom then spoke. "We tried a locater spell, it didn't work; nothing belonged to him, everything he had, he stole"
I spoke again.
"And we're giving up?"
My dad spoke this time.
"We're not giving up exactly, but it doesn't look good"
I sighed internally, because I knew my dad was right; it didn't look good, Jasmine spoke.
"So we may not find Aladdin"
My heart sank, as he was my only chance to fix this; to stop the visions, that's when another voice spoke. It was Archie, what was he doing here? Did he follow me?
"Which means, you're running out of excuses Emma" I turned to face him, I then spoke. "Did you follow me here? He nodded, before speaking again. "Yes, I mean; I couldn't leave knowing, that you were gonna continue to lie to yourself. And to your family..."
My blood ran cold, as he was going to tell them about my visions; I couldn't think, my mom then spoke.
"What is going on?"
Archie spoke.
"Emma, has a secret..." I raised my voice. "Archie!" Killian spoke. "No, continue" I turned to look at him. "Killian..." He spoke again. "No Emma, if he thinks it can help, crickets always been on your side" no not with this, Henry then spoke. "Mom, please..."
Great, now I have to tell them; I spoke.
"I...I've been having visions, of what I think is my future; I've been shaking..." I looked at Killian, who looked slightly heartbroken; my heart clenched, knowing they were all looking at me, I continued.
"In the vision, I die; according to Hyde, all saviours die...Aladdin, was also a saviour. So I thought if I found him, if I found him alive; that he could help my avoid my fate"
Killian's features hardened, as he spoke. "So you lied to us?" My mom spoke. "Do you not trust us?" My dad spoke. "We're your family..." My mom spoke again. "Emma, you don't keep secrets from your family..." My heart clenched again, when Henry spoke. "And you die?"
My head was spinning from all the questions, I wanted the ground to open and swallow me whole; I can't believe Archie did this, I had a plan. Why couldn't he let me do it my way? I was about to speak, when Killian spoke.
"Who kills you?"
I stared at them, not knowing what to say; I didn't want to tell them in the first place, but thanks to Archie...well now, it's out in the open.
I could sense the disappointment, the shock, the anger; all coming off them, in waves. I crossed my arms, trying to calm myself down; I hate this, my mind racing as I tried to come up with an answer.
I figured, now that it was out in the open; I could tell them about my vision, so I spoke.
"In the vision, I'm in the middle of Main Street; and I'm fighting against someone...a hooded figure, I think I'm winning, then before I know it I'm down; I go to pick the sword up again, and that's when my hand begins to shake. The hooded figure, takes that opportunity to run me through...with his sword...and that's when I die"
My dad spoke.
"Are you alone? In the street...are you alone?"
I shook my head, before answering.
"No, you are all there...except you Regina; you're not there"
Regina spoke.
"So I'm not there?"
I spoke.
"The figure in the hood, kills me; while I protect everyone, but no you're not there"
She spoke again.
"Well, where do you think I am?"
I peered up in her direction, before my gaze drifted to Killian; he looked at me, his features still hardened. Regina continued. "Dead?" I still didn't answer, as I wasn't sure, where she was. She took my silence to mean, something bad; she spoke again. "Or am I, the figure under the hood?"
What? No! How can she say that? I spoke.
"Now, Regina; don't be angry, this is a vision...it's not a dream, it's not like it's my subconscious at work"
She huffed slightly, whilst looking at me; she then spoke.
"I'm gonna find another way, to track down Aladdin; if I can't be of help in the future...I sure as hell, better do my part now"
I moved to stand in front of her, I spoke. "Regina..." she looked at me, as she spoke. "Just give me an hour...meet me at my vault, I've got this"
She left, I sighed softly; as Jasmine approached me, she spoke. "Is it true?" I spoke. "What?" She spoke again. "Is Aladdin, dead?" I sighed again, as I answered. "I don't know"
Her features fell slightly, before she made her way upstairs; I don't know, if he's dead, I just hoped for Jasmine's sake he wasn't.
Henry looked at me, I went to say something; and he glared at me, great...he's mad. I don't blame him for being mad, I don't blame any of them for being mad.
My dad moved to stand beside Killian, who was now refusing to look at me; I also noticed that my mom looked hurt, I sighed softly.
I kept my distance, as I went into my parents bedroom; making my way to the rocking chair, sitting down. As I sat there, I could feel tears building; threatening to fall, I sighed again.
Why did Archie feel the need to tell them about my secret? Why would he do that? He knew I didn't want to tell them, I heard movement; I looked up, and that's when I spotted my mom.
She moved the small chair, to sit in front of me; she spoke. "You should have been honest" I sighed softly, before answering. "I didn't lie, I just got scared"
She spoke again. "Which is exactly, when you should talk to your mother" I looked at her, silently hoping she would forgive me; I spoke. "Can you forgive me?"
She smiled softly, before answering.
"I mean, of course; I forgive you, we're your parents...we'll always forgive you" She then turned slightly, before speaking again. "But what, about him?"
My heart clenched again, as my gaze followed hers; landing on Killian, who now had his flask in hand. He was talking to my dad, my mom spoke again.
"You're trying to build something, and look; your father and I, may not be perfect...but we don't keep secrets from each other"
Didn't dad, keep him dying in Neverland a secret? So obviously, they have kept secrets; I shook my head, as my dad walked into the room.
He spoke.
"That was Leroy" my mom and I turned towards him, as he continued. "He had an appointment with Archie, but he didn't show"
I spoke, confusion clear in my tone; as I did.
"Archie, left here with plenty of time" My mom gasped softly, as she spoke. "That wasn't Archie..." My eyes widened, as I realised who it really was; the Evil Queen, I spoke.
"The Queen, she has him..."
I relaxed slightly, as I realised that Archie didn't break patient confidentiality; as he would never do that, I should have known that it wasn't him.
I mentally kicked myself, how could I not have noticed; so if the Evil Queen has Archie, where is she? And what has this got to do with Aladdin?
I know, I need to apologise to Killian; but I also need to find Aladdin...
