Ch30 - Changelings Pt3

Has he gone to see Belle? Surely he wouldn't be that stupid...

I felt my phone buzz, I took it out of my pocket; looking at it, it was Belle. I answered.

"Hey Belle, is everything?..."

She interrupted me.

"Emma..."

She sounded terrified, I spoke again.

"Where are you?"

She replied.

"I'm at the library, Rumple just left; he made it clear, that he can't lose another son"

I sighed, before speaking again.

"We're on our way"

My heart clenched again, Belle doesn't need any of this; I ended the call, before turning to face Killian. I felt the frustration seep through my tone, as I spoke.

"Gold's just paid Belle a visit, she's still at the library; we need to take her somewhere safe"

He spoke.

"Should I take her back to my ship?"

I shook my head, before answering.

"No, she wouldn't be completely safe; not that there's anything wrong with your ship, but that's the first place he'll go next time he wants to talk to her. I was thinking, we should take her to Granny's"

He nodded, before we turned; making our way back to the library, where we found Belle. She was sitting at one of the tables, her hand resting on her stomach; as we got closer, I noticed her breathing was erratic.

I crouched down, before speaking; I kept my tone light, as I did.

"Hey"

She looked at me, smiling softly; as she did, she then spoke.

"Hi..."

My heart broke, as I took in her appearance; she looked stunned, and a little bit annoyed. I spoke again.

"Come on, let's get out of here"

I helped her up, she took a shaky breath; as Killian offered to escort her outside. I smiled, that's my pirate; ever the gentleman, we then walked across the street to Granny's.

She sat down, at the counter; before facing us, she spoke.

"I know, I should be relieved..."

I spoke, while trying to stay calm; for Belle's sake.

"Well no one's gonna blame you, for still worrying; Gold did the right thing today, that doesn't mean he'll do the same thing tomorrow"

Killian spoke, while agreeing with what I just said.

"Emma's right, and we have to make sure; that he can't use that magic on you...and we will"

Granny spoke, while placing a cup of tea; onto the counter.

"Here you go, one cup of chamomile" She smiled, softly; before continuing. "It soothes the soul"

She smiled, as she moved away from the counter; Killian and I both thanked her, as she left. He then spoke again.

"Drink up, helps calm the nerves" Belle smiled at us, as he continued. "Excuse us, love"

He pulled me away, before speaking. "So, are you gonna tell me; what happened back at Gold's, or do I have to guess?" He placed his hand on my lower back, as he finished speaking.

I took a breath, knowing I couldn't keep it from him; I spoke.

"I saw my death again, it was the exact same details; the same figure, everything was the same. Except this time, there was something new; the sword...the sword that's used to kill me, I...it had a red jewel, on the bottom of the handle; almost glowing"

He looked at me, concern etched into his features; as he spoke.

"What brought the vision on?"

I sighed, while shaking my head; before answering.

"I don't know, maybe just being in the shop? Maybe, there was something in there" I didn't know what it was, but there was something; I didn't have time to elaborate, as I heard something break.

Killian and I both turned around again, as Belle sat at the counter; she dropped the cup, and she looked panicked.

I spoke.

"Belle? What is it? Are you ok?"

She spoke, her tone laced with panic.

"The tea" she groaned, as her stomach started to expand; Belle spoke again, this time; with fear in her tone. "No! No, no; this can't...this can't be happening!"

Her pregnancy...it's been sped up; Gold! He did this, she spoke again. "Please no..."She groaned again, before finishing speaking. "No!"

Killian looked at me, panic evident on his features; he spoke.

"Swan? What do we do, now?"

I sighed, before speaking.

"We need to get Belle, to the convent; she'll be safe there"

Belle gasped, as a contraction hit; I winced, as I remembered how painful those were. He nodded, before helping her outside; I quickly followed, as Killian was helping Belle into the bug.

I heard her speak.

"Where's the book?"

Killian spoke.

"It's on my ship, we can stop and get it"

I smiled, as he reassured her; before helping her into the car. She sat down, before hunching over; again, groaning as another contraction hit. I kept my tone, as reassuring as I could.

"Everything's going to be fine, I promise"

Before heading in the direction of the docks, trying to keep Belle calm; I heard Killian speak to her, as he called her a tough lass.

I smiled, as I heard her laugh softly; before it turned into a groan. I let out the breath, I was holding; when the Jolly Roger came into view.

We came to a stop, at the docks; Killian jumped out, before racing onto his ship. Belle sighed, before yelping; as another contraction pulsated through her.

I spoke.

"Take a deep breath, in and out; nice and slow" she did, as I instructed; I spoke again. "That's it" She moaned softly, while clutching her stomach.

I watched as Killian rushed back over, getting back into the passenger seat; I turned the car around, before heading in the direction of the convent.

I knew I was probably breaking a few laws, as I sped across town; my inner sheriff, protesting as I did. When the convent was in sight, I sighed; before speaking.

"We're here"

I got out, Killian followed suit; as we helped Belle inside, Blue was standing just inside the entrance. Her eyes widened, as she noticed Belle's stomach.

She spoke.

"What happened?"

I sighed, before answering.

"The Dark One happened!"

Blue sighed, before walking outside; she spoke.

"We need to protect Belle, and everyone else that's here"

I nodded, before helping her cast a protection spell; when it was done I sighed again. This time, it was a sigh of relief; it meant Gold wasn't going to be able to get through it.

No matter, how hard he tired. We turned, walking back inside, before helping Belle upstairs; Blue spoke, as she explained that she had something to attend to.

We thanked her, as we made our way upstairs; Belle groaned softly, as one of the fairies helped her onto the bed. I stood back, giving them room; Belle spoke.

"Emma?"

I looked at her, before speaking.

"Yeah?"

She spoke, through laboured breathing.

"Can you stay?"

I smiled, before answering.

"Of course"

She thanked me, as I held her hand; she gripped it, as the fairy examined her. Killian cleared his throat, before scratching the back of his ear.

He spoke.

"I'll leave you to it, I'll be right outside; if you need anything"

She thanked him, before he turned to leave; he smiled at me, before leaving. I turned to Belle, before speaking.

"You ready?"

She grabbed my hand, I squeezed hers in return; before, speaking.

"Thats it" I placed my hand on her shoulder, trying to keep her calm; as she groaned, my heart hurting for her. She shouldn't be doing this yet, I watched as she bore down on the bed; one arm behind her, as I spoke again.

"You're fine, just keep breathing"

As I tried to get her to breathe alongside me, in slow deep breaths; she did, and I smiled reassuringly. I spoke. "Big push..." she groaned, and I watched; as she gave one final push.

She screamed, before breathing; her breath coming, in short pants. I rubbed her shoulder, as she fell back onto the bed; before speaking.

"You did it, you're ok"

She sighed, before smiling softly; as the baby was placed in her arms. She thanked me, before I left. I went into the corridor, Killian stood up; still holding the book, that Belle was reading from earlier.

as he spoke.

"Is everything?..."

I nodded, before answering.

"Everything's fine, Belle's fine; she's a little tired, and the baby is healthy so that's good"

He smiled, before pulling me into a hug; I pulled away, just as Blue rounded the corner. I smiled, before nodding at her; she smiled, before we made our way into the recovery room.

I spotted Belle, as she cradled her son; I smiled, as Blue and Killian walked in behind me. Blue laughed softly, before moving towards the bed; she spoke.

"Congratulations!"

Belle reached for her, as she spoke.

"Thank you Blue"

Blue spoke again.

"They said, you wanted to see me"

Belle nodded, before answering.

"Yeah..." as she gazed at her son, before continuing. "Yeah, I need your help"

Blue nodded, before speaking.

"Of course, anything"

Belle spoke. "Here" Blue sat down, as Belle sniffled; before continuing. "Will you be his fairy godmother?"

Blue chuckled softly, as Belle spoke again.

"And will you take him somewhere safe, somewhere far away from all this?"

She wants to send the baby away? I looked at Killian, before looking back at Belle; memories of my labour, when I was asked if I wanted to hold Henry came flooding back.

That's when it hit me, she wants him to have a better life; she wants to give him, his best chance. I spoke.

"Belle? What are you doing?"

She looked at me, speaking as she did.

"Rumple, will never stop; this is our sons only chance" She turned to face Blue. "Please take him" just until this is all over" Blue spoke.

"But you don't know, when; or if, that will come to pass"

Belle looked at her son, before speaking.

"I believe it will...I have to believe it will; yeah..." she gazed at her son again, before speaking. "Take him" as she moved to pass him to Blue, who spoke. "Of course"

My heart broke, as Belle sniffled again; as she said her goodbye, kissing him on the forehead as Blue took him from her.

Belle spoke again.

"Thank you Blue...There's one more thing, Killian?"

He moved forward, while holding the book in his hand; he gave it to her, she smiled. She looked at Blue again, before speaking.

"Read it to him...so that he knows, that I'm always there for him" she gazed at her son, before gasping; she whispered. "My Gideon...strong and brave...a hero for all time"

My gaze drifted to Killian, he returned my gaze; and judging by the look on his face, he felt the exact same way I did.

We watched, as Belle kissed Gideon; before speaking to him again.

"Don't you ever forget, that I love you"

She sighed, her eyes full of tears; before moving away slightly silently indicating to Blue, that she could take him away now.

Blue enacted the spell, as Killian and I watched on; my gaze drifted to Belle, who was curled up under the blanket. Her eyes glazed over, with unshed tears; I sighed, before speaking.

"We're here, if you need us"

Belle didn't respond, as Killian and I left; I could feel tears, build up in the corner of my eyes. Poor Belle, she didn't deserve this; Gold was going to regret this, he was going to regret hurting her.

When we got outside, Killian spoke.

"Are you alright Swan?"

I sighed, before answering.

"I'm not the one, that's just had a baby"

He sighed, before speaking again.

"I know that love, but I'm sure; it brought up some unpleasant memories"

I sighed, as I knew he was talking about my parents putting me in the wardrobe, to give me my best chance and my pregnancy and labour with Henry.

I spoke.

"It did, but I'm fine; Belle is going to need all the love and support we can give her"

He sighed, before speaking.

"And she will love, of that I have no doubt"

I went to speak, but before I could; he pulled me into another hug, before leaning down slightly. I smiled softly, as he kissed the top of my head; I leaned into him, nestling into his chest.

Belle is safe, her son is safe; I pulled away slightly, before speaking.

"You wanna get out of here?"

Killian nodded, before we made our way back to the bug; I climbed into the drivers seat, as he got into the passenger side. We made our way back into town, in a comfortable silence.

We drove through Main Street, coming to a stop outside Granny's; we got out of the car, I stood on the curb. Killian spoke.

"I need to check in on the old girl, I'll be back soon"

I nodded, before speaking.

"You know where to find me"

He smiled softly, before making his way towards the docks. I went inside, Granny greeted me; before asking about Belle.

"How's Belle?"

I answered.

"As well as expected"

Granny nodded, before speaking again.

"You want the usual?"

I nodded, before thanking her; my thoughts drifted again, as I remembered my birthing experience. I was in jail, handcuffed to the bed, no one held my hand. It was scary, but not as scary as what Belle has just been through.

I smiled, as Granny placed the cup in front of me; she smiled, before walking away. I sighed softly, as the first sip soothed me; I relaxed slightly, getting lost in thought again.

I heard the door open, as someone walked in; I turned when I heard Killian speak.

"Good news, Regina called; she reversed the spell, that sister is going to live" He sat down beside me, as he continued. "A long and hopefully far less eventful life"

I spoke.

"And what about Belle?"

He sighed, before he spoke.

"As good as can be expected, after all she's been through"

I smiled softly, before speaking.

"What she just did...that's why I keep fighting. As the saviour, it's a title I've thought about running from numerous times; but I never have, and...what she did today, reminded me why I don't run..."

I paused, before looking at him; as I continued.

"Why I fight, because I want to protect my family and my friends; and..." I placed my hand on his arm, before finishing. "The people that I love"

He spoke.

"The vision, it's still getting to you?"

I nodded, before answering.

"Yeah, it's time for me to get to it"

He smiled at me, before speaking again.

"There's the fight I love"

I smiled softly, before speaking.

"Let's go find out, what really happened to me"

We stood up, before heading to Gold's; I needed answers, I half expected the door to be locked. When I tried it, it was open...
