Ch29 - Wish You Were Here Pt1

I half expected the door to be locked. When I tried it, it was open...

We made our way inside, I gasped; as I noticed the smashed cabinets, he must have had a complete melt down. Did he have to take it out on the cabinets and the items inside them?

I spoke.

"Woah! Oh well, someone had a tantrum"

I moved, walking through the debris; as Killian spoke.

"Do you think, you'll find something in here, to explain your vision?"

I sighed, not knowing what I was going to find; I spoke, as I spotted something. "I think I just did" I crouched down, as I spotted the sword; I spoke again. "This is it. This is the sword from my vision"

I reached out to lift it, speaking as I did. "It's here" I placed my hand out, gripping the handle; I gasped, as my vision took hold; I let go of the sword, as I watched myself die again.

My hand shaking, as I watched myself hold the sword; that was now lodged in my abdomen, Killian spoke.

"Emma, are you ok?"

I couldn't answer, as I was still being overcome with images of my death; I sighed, before gaining control. I reached out, grabbing the sword; before speaking.

"Yeah, I think it's safe to say; this is what did it"

He spoke again.

"This is the sword, that killed you"

I corrected him.

"Will kill me"

He sighed, before speaking again.

"And why, would it be in here?"

I answered, sounding just as confused.

"I don't know, but now we have it; maybe we can find out, who's responsible"

Killian spoke again.

"The figure under the hood"

I spoke.

"Yeah" I stood up, while studying the sword; I spoke again. "And then, we can stop them"

I sighed, as Killian placed his hand on my arm; my hand, had finally stopped shaking again. We left, leaving the way we came in.

I handed the sword to Killian, who looked at it; wearily, as I took my phone out of my pocket. I scrolled, before landing on Regina's number...

It rang a few times, before she answered; I spoke.

"I found something, can you meet us; at the cemetery?"

She answered.

"I can be there in ten minutes, why the cemetery?"

I replied.

"I found the sword, the one from my vision; and I was wondering if you had something in your vault that would help us, understand it"

I heard her take a breath, before she answered; before agreeing to meet us there.

I didn't expect to find the sword that would kill me, so now; I need to figure out what to do with it, Killian has been apprehensive.

And I don't blame him, we did find the sword in Gold's shop; that in itself isn't good, in fact it's worse.

I needed answers, and I knew just who to ask; and that was Regina, as I'm sure she's got something in her vault. She met us, outside the cemetery; her eyes widened, when she noticed the sword.

She spoke.

"Is that?..."

I nodded, before answering.

"Yeah"

We made our way through the cemetery, I tightened my grip on the sword; now that I had it, I wasn't letting it out of my sight.

We walked in a almost comfortable silence, it only broke; when Killian spoke.

"Do you really think, you've got something in your vault; that can destroy it?"

Regina sighed softly, before answering.

"We don't want to destroy it, we want to understand it"

I could anger mixed with concern, in Killian's voice; as he spoke.

"It's fated to kill her"

I sighed before speaking.

"The hooded figure, who uses it; is fated to kill me, we need to figure out who that is"

Regina spoke again, conviction in her tone; as she did.

"And then, we can worry about destroying things"

Killian spoke again, as he spotted something in the distance. "Bloody hell" As we got closer, Regina spoke. "Get away from him!"

As we got closer, that's when I noticed the Evil Queen. She was crouching down at Robin's grave, what the hell was she doing here?

Regina ran over, as the Evil Queen spoke.

"Don't worry, I'm not here to desecrate Robin's final resting place; I loved him too, you know. Loved...past tense, losing Robin Hood; was the best thing, that ever happened to us. It pushed you...to liberate me, to free you from the prison; of your self loathing, to make me the best version of us"

Seriously? What is she trying to do, other than provoke Regina, I spoke.

"Regina, don't let her get to you"

Regina snarled, as she spoke. "It's too late" while conjuring a fireball, the Evil Queen laughed; before speaking. "What are you going to do? Throw a fireball at yourself?"

She extinguished it, as she continued.

"The only way to hurt me, is to hurt you; which is why your friends, won't be able to stop me. See? Love is weakness, say hi to sleeping beauty...or is it sleeping daddy?"

That's it queenie, I lunged towards her; sword ready to strike, I heard Killian speak. "Emma, no!" As I sliced her cheek, before realising that I possibly hurt Regina too.

The Evil Queen, staggered back; stunned, that I was able to hurt her. Regina placed her hand, on her cheek; she wasn't hurt, why wasn't she hurt?

I turned, speaking to her as I did.

"Are you..."

Regina answered.

"I'm fine"

We both turned, looking at the Evil Queen; who was still stunned, as she tried to heal the cut failing miserably. She glanced at me, and then at the sword. It can be used against her, it can harm her; we have a way to defeat her.

I lunged forward again, ready to run her through; when she disappeared, in a cloud of smoke. I spoke.

"We can kill her"

Regina nodded, before speaking.

"It appears so"

Killian spoke.

"We should inform your father"

I nodded, as we made our way back to the loft; when we got there, my dad noticed the sword. He spoke.

"Why do you have that?"

I sighed, before speaking.

"It's the sword that's going to be used to kill me, but that's not why we're here"

Regina quickly explained, as I made my way over to the bed; where my mom was still lying, sleeping. I heard my dad sigh, as he spoke.

"So it can hurt the Queen, without hurting Regina"

I sighed again, while placing my hand on my mom's shoulder; I spoke.

"The Evil Queen needs to die"

His phone buzzed, he apologised; before leaving the room to answer it, Killian made his way over to me. He looked at me, as he spoke.

"You sure about this, love?"

I answered.

"In this case, the cliche is true; I was born for this"

Killian nodded, as Henry spoke.

"Mom, don't do it"

I stood up, while speaking.

"Henry, I can stop her...with this sword, I can save all of us"

He spoke, his tone laced with mild frustration.

"That sword is what kills you, how do you know; this isn't how you die, facing her? What if, she's the figure under the hood; in your vision?"

I sighed, before answering him.

"I can't sit out of every battle, because I think it might be my last; I'm the saviour kid"

He sighed, while speaking.

"Your also my mom"

He turned to leave, while mildly glaring at me; as he made his way upstairs. I sighed, I didn't mean to upset him. I know he's right, I am his mom; and he needs me. My hand started shaking, as he left; my vision was triggered, my dad came back into the room.

He spoke.

"Hey, that was Leroy; the Evil Queen was spotted, headed down Main Street"

I spoke.

"Alright, let's go"

Regina stopped me, as she spoke.

"Emma, no you can't"

Yeah I can, why is she stopping me? I spoke.

"The only way, you can hurt her; is to hurt yourself, and I can't let you do that" she looked at me, as she sighed softly; knowing I was right, I continued. "I've got this, you just stay here with Henry"

She nodded, I could see in her features; that she understood why, I needed to do this. She then spoke.

"Good luck"

I nodded, before leaving; I could do this, I have the sword. I can defeat her, I need to defeat her; it's the only way, that my parents curse will be broken.

I caught up with Killian and my dad, as we made our way to Main Street; I sighed, before tightening my grip on the sword. Alright Queenie, do your worst...
