Ch45 - Late Morning Shift
Last night was fun, and just as Henry predicted; Killian, had a lot of questions. We just about made it through the movie, as with each scene; Killian, questioned the actions of Jack Sparrow, however he liked that they shared a love for rum.
Whatever was bothering him, had obviously been put to the back of his mind; as we watched the movie. And when we finally called it, a night; we crawled into bed, and fell asleep in each other's arms.
Only moving, when it got too warm; I smiled internally knowing that I had the late shift, so I was planning on making the most of it. I'll maybe even, get a quiet moment with my pirate.
I murmured, a greeting; turning my head, when I didn't get a reply. My hand, finding lukewarm sheets; instead of my warm bodied pirate. I sat up slightly, before glancing at the bathroom door; it was open, so he's been gone for a while.
So much for that quiet moment, I sighed softly; before my gaze drifted to the bedside table, my vision still hazy with sleep. I was just about able to make out an outline, of a piece of paper; I lifted it, before sitting up against the headboard.
My name, written; in eloquent handwriting, that was unusual for a pirate. I grinned, as I unfolded it; before reading it.
"Swan, if you're reading this; you've probably just awoken, and probably wondering where I am. I have an appointment with the Cricket, and I didn't want to disturb your slumber; I will see you later tonight, my love. Sincerely, Killian..."
I couldn't keep the smile off my face, as I re-read the note; it was sweet, and I'm glad that he finally realised nothing good came of waking me, when I had the late shift.
I placed the note, back onto the bedside table; before sitting up, I moved towards my closet. Before choosing my outfit, I wanted to be comfortable today; so I went for a sweater, jeans and my ankle boots.
I then headed towards the bathroom, deciding on taking a long shower; taking my time, as I washed my hair, then grabbing my loofah before grabbing my body wash.
When the water, started to turn cold; I hopped out of the shower, before drying off and heading back into the bedroom. I got dressed, before reading the note again; a smile on my face, as I placed it in the drawer.
I grabbed my phone, before heading downstairs; lifting my jacket and keys, I headed into the kitchen. Only to be greeted by Henry, he was sitting at the counter; I smiled, before speaking.
"Morning kid"
He spoke.
"Morning mom"
I spoke again.
"Did you see Killian, this morning?"
He answered.
"Yeah, we had breakfast; and then he left, but I wanted to wait for you"
I grinned, before speaking.
"So, what are going to do; today?"
He answered.
"I'm gonna go to my other moms, this afternoon; if that's ok"
I spoke.
"Yeah, it's more than ok; have a good time"
He thanked me, before he got up; lifting his jacket, before he left. He muttered, his goodbye; as he headed out the door, I grinned, before shaking my head; teenagers...
I then made quick work, of pouring some coffee; as I tried to find something to eat. I grinned, when I found a box of poptarts; hidden at the back, of one of the cabinets.
Henry and I, have a secret stash; in a cabinet, that Killian doesn't even know exists. We keep them hidden behind, the cereals; which Killian still doesn't understand, as he believes, there's only one breakfast, we should all be having and that's a pirate's breakfast.
Which is fine, if you're over two hundred years old; but, there's a limit on how much mackerel, a girl can eat. Henry on the other hand, he loves it; but every now and then, he likes the occasional poptart.
I finished my breakfast, before tidying up; I moved toward the front door, grabbing my keys, before heading outside.
I climbed into the bug, before making the short journey into town; when I got there, I came to a stop outside the station. It was just going to be me today, as my parents are still dealing with the sleeping curse; that the Evil Queen, placed on them.
I made my way toward my desk, draping my jacket over the back of my chair; before groaning softly, when I noticed the small stack of paperwork on my desk. I groaned internally, I hate paperwork, no matter; how big or small the stack is, I waved my hand.
Before watching it, file itself; I grinned...I love magic, so that's the paperwork done. Now, all I have to do is check the cameras and the mics in the interrogation rooms.
Which wouldn't take long, so I made my way; toward the back of the station, before opening the door to the first interrogation room. I checked the connection on the mic, before checking the cameras.
The camera light flashing, as I turned it on; the mic light flashed, as I checked it. I then repeated the task in the other room, before heading back to my desk.
I sat down, before switching the computer on; it made a noise, before lighting up. It seemed to take forever, as I logged in. Why can't we upgrade the system? Surely Regina could have conjured up, a better operating system.
Although, a computer operating system; was probably the last thing, she worried about, when she was thinking about casting the dark curse that created Storybrooke in the first place...
