Ch45 - Pancakes Pt1
He placed his hook on my thigh, as we made the quick journey home; to celebrate our engagement...
After what seemed like several rounds, we eventually fell asleep; I woke up the next morning, feeling slightly sore. I sat up, before reaching for my robe; I slipped it on, before heading downstairs.
I made my way into the kitchen, gathering everything I'd need to make breakfast. I decided on pancakes, I grabbed the nutmeg; as I remembered what my dad said.
I got to work, losing myself; as I flipped each pancake, I was working on the second batch when I felt Killian wrap his arms around my waist.
He whispered.
"Something, smells delicious"
I giggled softly, before speaking.
"It's just from a box"
He spoke again.
"I'm not talking, about the pancakes"
I turned, placing my lips on his; my hands on his cheeks, before moving to his shoulders. I looked at him, as I began to feel overwhelmed. He smiled at me, as he spoke.
"What?"
I kept staring at him, still in shock; that I'm happy, for what seems like the first time, in a long time. I spoke.
"I'm just happy...it still surprises me, sometimes"
He smiled, before speaking.
"Aye love, me too"
Our lips met, I sighed softly; before speaking.
"To hell with the pancakes"
With that, our lips met again; this time, in a much deeper passionate kiss. We allowed ourselves to get lost in the moment. Only to break apart, when my mom walked in; speaking as she did.
"Oh great, you're up"
I forgot she had a key, I spoke.
"Mom, uh..."
Killian sounded slightly frustrated, as he spoke.
"Your mother has a key, good to know"
I knew there was something I forgot to tell him, my mom spoke again.
"I know, I'm a little early; but I woke up this morning, and it just hit me" She stopped speaking, and I looked at her; her cheeks slightly red, when she realised what she just walked in on. She continued. "Am I, interrupting something?"
Killian answered.
"Yes!"
I spoke.
"No, we were uh...we were just making some pancakes"
Killian sighed, as we righted ourselves; my mom stuttered, as she realised.
"Pancakes, right...maybe, I should come back; after you've had...pancakes"
Killian spoke again.
"Don't worry, I've lost my appetite..." he leaned in, whispering; so my mom couldn't hear. "I have to go, and have a quick and bracing shower"
I kissed him on the cheek, as he left; I could sense my mom's embarrassment, as Killian walked past her. I placed the plate of pancakes down, before speaking.
"Mom, as much as I love; our unexpected visits, is there something pressing today?"
She walked towards me, before speaking.
"Wedding planning"
She set her binder onto the table, as she continued.
"I've been putting together, a few ideas" she opened it, before flipping through it. I glanced at each page, how long has she been working on this? I spoke.
"You did all this, since Hook and I got engaged?"
She answered.
"I might have started, a bit before that"
I spoke.
"Like, how long ago?"
She spoke again.
"Um...Well it was definitely after the first curse" she looked at me, before continuing. "Look, I know I'm excited; but, can you blame me? I have missed a lot of the milestones, in your life Emma; I want to meld the absolute most, of this one"
I reached out, hugging her as I did; I spoke.
"Me too, mom"
My phone rang, I sighed before lifting it; it was Regina, I answered.
"Regina, what's up?"
She spoke.
"The Black Fairy, has just paid Zelena a visit; we're heading to the station"
I spoke.
"We'll be right there"
The call ended, and I turned back to my mom.
"The Black Fairy made herself known to Zelena, Regina's taking her to the station"
My mom nodded, before speaking.
"I'll head over there, I'll let you get back to your pancakes"
I smiled, before hugging her again; she left and I headed upstairs, I walked into our bedroom. The bathroom door was closed, I was tempted to open it and slip into the shower, but we didn't have time for that.
Or did we? I walked towards the door, only to hear the water being turned off; I sighed, before grabbing my clothes. I got dressed, only turning; when I heard Killian.
I spoke.
"Sorry about that, I totally forgot my mom had a key"
He smiled, before speaking.
"All is forgiven love, now why are you dressed? I thought you had the day off?"
I shook my head, before answering.
"No I had the morning off, but somethings come up; Zelena had a run in with the Black Fairy. Regina is taking her to the station"
He nodded, before getting dressed; we headed back downstairs, he lifted the piece of wand off the table, before we left.
When we got to the station, we were greeted by my parents, Regina, Zelena and baby Robin.
I spoke.
"What happened?"
Zelena looked angry, as she spoke.
"I had a oh so pleasant, visit from our new foe" I nodded, as she continued. "And I was about to wring her, scrawny neck; and then she just poofed away"
My dad spoke.
"There's only one place, where she'll have privacy to do whatever she wants to do"
I spoke.
"Makes sense, she's headed to the dwarf tunnels. It's the easy place to hide"
My dad spoke again.
"And there are miles of them, below Storybrooke. Pinning her down, in there; won't be easy"
Regina spoke.
"Well the good news is, whatever her plan was; for the Final Battle, she needs help. Which means, we have time to figure out how to stop her"
Killian spoke, as he took something out of his pocket.
"Well perhaps that's, where this piece of wand comes in. Tiger Lily said, it had been; used, to banish the Black Fairy once, if we can find the other half. Perhaps we can do it again"
My mom spoke.
"So where do we look?"
Zelena spoke.
"I'm not waiting around, for some piece of wand; the only reason I didn't blast that noir colored nit out of existence, is because of Robin. So if one of you'd be kind enough, to watch her for a minute; I'll do what I intended, and go and take care of this"
Regina spoke.
"Well hold on, you can't just go down there alone and confront her"
Zelena answered.
"Why not, what you think I can't defeat her? I'm more powerful than you"
Regina hit back.
"Oh really? Is that why I had to rip out my own heart, to save you from the Evil Queen?"
Zelena spoke again.
"Look, I would have been fine; without your help"
Regina spoke.
"Believe what you want, you're not going down there"
Zelena sneered, and I stepped in between them; speaking as I did.
"Ok, sibling rivalry aside; Regina's right, we need to get the wand back, before we go up against her. And when we do, we're going to do this together"
Regina spoke.
"Thank you"
Zelena spoke.
"Ok fine, have it your way; but you're doing it without me"
And with that she lifted the car seat, and left. My dad spoke.
"She gonna be ok?"
Regina spoke.
"Yeah, she just needs to cool off. In the meantime, why don't I take that piece of wand, back to my vault. See if I can cast a locator spell on it"
My dad spoke.
"What about us? I mean we can't just, sit around here doing nothing"
My mom spoke.
"Well we won't be, we have plenty to do; to keep us busy"
Killian spoke.
"We do?"
My mom answered.
"Well you've obviously, never planned a wedding"
Regina spoke.
"You really wanna pick out centrepieces, on the eve of the Final Battle?"
My mom spoke again.
"I do. David and I went through with our wedding, after you threatened us; it gave people hope, so why should Emma and Hook's be any different?"
I smiled at her, as she continued.
"So who's ready, to put their hearts into some wedding planning?"
She looked at me, and I smiled again; not knowing the full extent to what I've just agreed to do. Regina laughed, before leaving.
Her parting words. "Good luck" fading as she left.
I looked at Killian, who looked scared; I smiled at him, before speaking.
"Don't worry Pirate, I'll protect you from my mom"
My mom laughed, before speaking.
"Emma! I'm not that bad"
I laughed, before uttering.
"Pancakes"
My mom went wide eyed, as my dad stood there looking confused...
