Ch55 - Pancakes (Wedding Venues) Pt2
My mom went wide eyed, as my dad stood there looking confused...
My dad looked at me, before looking at Killian; he spoke.
"I don't wanna know, but if we're going to be looking at venues; I'm gonna go back to the loft and grab my wallet"
I smiled, as I tried not to laugh; as he left, he looked back at my mom who watched him retreat. She turned to face me, before speaking.
"I am sorry you know, I shouldn't have just walked in; next time I'll knock...or send a text"
Killian spoke.
"All is forgiven milady"
She smiled, before speaking again.
"Now, who's up for some wedding venue searching?"
I nodded, before following her outside; Killian groaned, before following me. I turned to face him, I spoke.
"Don't worry, I'll keep you safe"
He smiled, before leaning down to kiss me quickly; only pulling apart when my mom cleared her throat. Killian sighed, which made me giggle softly; my mom spoke.
"You'll have plenty of time for that later, now come on"
We followed her into town, we stopped outside Granny's; I smiled, when I spotted Henry. I spoke.
"Hey kid, did you get roped into helping too?"
He nodded, before speaking.
"Yeah, but I don't mind"
I smiled, before we made our way inside. My mom stopped, before looking at us; she spoke.
"So since this place, holds so many good memories for all of us; we could have the wedding outside; and then have the reception in here?"
I looked at her, before speaking.
"Mom, I..."
She looked at us, before speaking again.
"So what do you think?"
Killian spoke.
"It's nice, I still think; we could consider, getting married on the sea..." he turned to face me, our arms wrapping around each other, as he continued. "Wouldn't it be romantic, to exchange our vows; on the Jolly Roger?"
I smiled, as I tried to imagine what he was suggesting; it would be romantic, I kept my gaze on his, as Henry spoke.
"Not if half, of your guests; are getting sick over the side"
Ok, so that's a no; Killian spoke.
"I guess the lad, has a point"
My mom spoke.
"I think Granny's will be perfect, we can have the ceremony outside, and after dinner; we push the tables aside, for dancing. There's music on the jukebox. What do you think, David?"
My dad spoke.
"I don't know"
My mom smiled, before answering.
"What do you mean, you don't know? We have shared so many, happy memories here together. Don't you wanna add, one more"
My dad spoke again.
"Let's be honest, not all of them have been happy and...not all of them, have been together either"
My mom looked confused, as she spoke.
"What are you talking about?"
My dad answered.
"For starters, how about your first date; with Whale?"
Henry spoke.
"Ouch"
I spoke.
"Dad!"
My mom spoke again.
"We were cursed, are you really bringing that up; right now? That can't possibly be, the reason you don't wanna have, Emma's wedding here"
My dad spoke.
"Ok, well how about this? This place, is a scrap heap; you want another one? It's not big enough, Emma's a Princess, and her wedding is a royal affair"
I looked at Killian, who looked amused; I giggled internally, if I'm a princess, then that would make him a prince or would he be pirate prince?
I giggled softly, as my parents continued arguing. I noticed my mom looking at my dad, as she spoke again.
"You want to find, some place bigger? Fine, let's go find one!"
My dad responded.
"Happy to!"
Henry, Killian and I watched; as they left, what the hell was going on with my dad? I spoke.
"What is going on?"
Killian answered.
"I don't know love, I don't know at all"
I walked out, after my parents; I could hear them, as they walked ahead of me. I felt a hook wrap around my wrist, as I was pulled back. I turned to face Killian again, I spoke.
"Do you think my dad, still has a problem with you?"
He shrugged, before answering.
"I'm not sure love, but maybe he just wants our wedding; to be a battle free zone"
I sighed, before allowing him to pull me into a hug; I heard my mom speak.
"Emma honey, do you want to get married in the town hall?"
I sighed, before looking at my dad; I spoke.
"Is that where you want me to be married?"
He shrugged, before walking ahead of us again; my mom catching up to him, Henry walked ahead of us. We made the short journey to the town hall, when we got there my parents were walking in; I watched as they spoke in hushed tones, my mom still sounded slightly irritated.
We walked inside, I could feel Killian take my hand; as we walked upstairs. We came to a stop, and I spoke.
"Well it's definitely..."
Killian continued my thought.
"Bigger"
My mom spoke.
"Well I think, this space; has great potential, we could string lights from the ceiling, put some trees around. It could be transformed, into something really magical"
I spoke, as I continued looking around.
"Yeah, I think it could be"
My dad spoke.
"Anyone else, feel a draft?"
Henry spoke.
"It's probably, just an open window somewhere"
My dad continued.
"And look at the walls, the whole place; needs a paint job"
I spoke.
"Ok dad, I know that technically; we're royalty or whatever, but unless you want to do a destination wedding at your castle in the Enchanted Forest or like Excalibur in Vegas, I don't think we're gonna fine what you're looking for"
He looked at me, before speaking.
"That's not a bad idea"
Did he actually want, to have the wedding in Vegas? Is he being serious, right now? I spoke.
"Vegas?"
He spoke again.
"No, the Enchanted Forest; our castle, how many beans would it take to get everyone back there?"
My mom spoke.
"David! May I speak to you outside, for a second?"
My mom walked away, as my dad spoke.
"Sure"
I placed my hand on Killian's upper arm, before speaking.
"So elopement?"
He answered.
"Aye, I'll bring the rum"
I smiled, before trying to think of any reason; my dad would have, to be acting the way he is right now...
