A/N: This is it! I finally wrapped this one up! Sorry that this story took so long. And it may have drifted off the rails a bit. But THANK YOU all for your kind reviews and for following along. I have written for almost 20 years but only started posting my stuff 2 or 3 years ago. If I knew you were going to be so nice I would have started long ago. Thank you, again & enjoy this last chapter.

Please check out some of my other stories. I'm really proud of "A Few Years In The Life" - my version of how the revival should have gone.

Snow began to fall on the Friday night when they arrived home, so Luke grabbed a cozy blanket, made his wife a large mug of coffee, got a beer for him, and snuggled under the blanket with her on the porch swing.

"I know I shouldn't be surprised anymore, but 'Romantic Luke' is still one of my most favourite surprises of being with you."

He wrapped his arms around her and sighed happily as she settled her back against his chest, "You bring it out in me when you're not bringing out a rant."

"Very funny," she said with a giggle in her voice, "Now let's settle this name issue so we can just enjoy the rest of the weekend."

Luke handed Lorelai a notepad and a pen, "So Lily and Ben are on the list, let's just throw out names, make the list and then we can cross off what we don't like."

"Sounds good," she nodded.

"I have a crazy idea," Luke started.

"Hmm?"

"You named Rory after your Dad's Mom, we named Danny after my Dad, is there a way to honour your mother?"

It was the first time in Lorelai's life that the idea of doing something nice for her mother actually made her smile.

It was Saturday February 16, 2008 and the people of Stars Hollow were buzzing. They were always excited when a new business opened up, especially when it would be run by one of their own. Even though Jess didn't grow up in Stars Hollow, Luke and Liz did so they saw him as their own and so many of them were happy to see what a good man he had grown into. The fact that Rory had turned into his business partner only added to their interest in this venture. They were opening at 7pm with food and drinks, live music, a comedy set and a poetry reading. The renovation had turned the dark and dingy bar into an amazing hybrid of homey bookstore and neighbourhood bar. There was still the classic bar and stools, two pool tables and a jukebox but the other side of the room had bookshelves and plush couches and armchairs. The flow of the room and furniture chosen was done so that it all worked together instead of looking like two ideas. Some people would choose to eat at the tables and chairs while others could enjoy their food and drinks on a couch and coffee table. Before booking people to come share their art Jess made sure to ask at a Town Meeting to ensure locals would be highlighted as well as people from New York, Boston or Philadelphia. They had made an arrangement with Andrew that they would only be carrying books that they published and some rare books and would be directing anyone who couldn't find what they were looking for to Stars Hollow Books.

Jess and Rory were enjoying their takeout food from Luke's and surrounded by papers, notebooks, and their laptops. They were going over final details for the night.

"You know what? I think we're ready for this!" Rory smiled excitedly.

"There's no way I would have made this deadline without all of your lists and organizing," Jess confessed.

"You were pretty organized when I first showed up."

"No. I knew what needed to be done and had a list. YOU broke the list down by timeline and into lists that I could delegate and then the one that had to be mine. You charmed people into helping us and even helped keep Tom on schedule. You're a marvel."

They shared a shy smile and both felt more than what they were willing to say.

Jess broke eye contact and sighed, "We should finish eating and make the few calls we need to make before tonight."

"Right," she nodded and smiled.

A few hours later Luke held the door open and followed Lorelai into Truncheon The Sequel. They arrived early to get the full tour of the final product. Luke and Lorelai took in the space while listening to Rory and Jess tell them about all the little details. They would talk over each other or interrupt or correct each other, they were acting like an old married couple, something Lorelai picked up on immediately.

After the tour and a brief look upstairs at Jess's apartment, Rory made sure Lorelai had the most comfortable spot in the place before getting ready to greet others.

Luke was by the bar talking to Jess, "I am so proud of you and everything you've done here."

"Thanks," Jess smiled. "I never would have gotten to where I am if it wasn't for you always looking out for me."

"Somehow I think you would have been fine."

Shaking his head Jess laughed, "And it's that belief that really got to me. Seriously, Luke. Thank you!"

The two men hugged and then awkwardly went their separate ways.

At 10pm Rory was having one of the best nights of her life. Almost everyone from the town she loved had shown up to the opening and were having fun, eating, drinking and praising the same kid they used to call a punk. Back then Rory knew there was more to Jess and now everyone saw what she did.

Lorelai was still on the couch that Rory had told her was the best. Luke was beside her and they were surrounded by their friends having a great time. The scheduled entertainment was over leaving the crowd to enjoy the space. Kirk was playing pool with Andrew, Taylor was at the bar looking out at the crowd surveying the business and how he could use it for fundraisers, Patty and Babette were taking full advantage of the karaoke machine, everyone seemed to really be enjoying themselves.

Luke watched Jess work the room and felt another wave of pride. He was about to get up and ask if anyone wanted their drinks refreshed when he saw Lorelai's face. "Hey, are you okay?"

Lorelai winced and took his hand, "We gotta go!" She then carefully stood up and grabbed her purse.

"What's wrong?" Luke asked, jumping to her side.

"Remember before I told you I was having back pain?"

"Yeah?"

"The pain shifted to the front. It wasn't back spasms, it was contractions!"

He looked worried, "Are you sure?" Just then he noticed water by her feet. "I'll go get the car!"

Hours later Lorelai was in the hospital bed holding her new daughter. Rory had helped her fix her hair and apply a little bit of makeup so she didn't look so tired. They were expecting Richard and Emily to join them any second. Turns out Lorelai was in labour a lot longer than she thought and she almost had the baby in the car. The Gilmores had to wait for the maid to wake up to let her know that they were running to the hospital and she needed to babysit while they were gone. It was pretty late and even though the kids would likely sleep the entire time they were gone, Richard slipped the maid a nice tip for waking up and helping them out like this.

For now, Lorelai was enjoying some quiet time with her perfect tiny bundle while Rory read in the armchair beside her.

There was a soft knock on the door and Luke stuck his head in, "Are you ready for some visitors?"

Lorelai smiled and nodded so Luke pushed the door all the way open and led Emily and Richard inside.

"Hello, hello," Emily whispered. It was almost two o'clock in the morning and Emily was in full makeup, her hair was perfect and she was dressed in a lovely pantsuit. Lorelai was a little disappointed because she thought she would finally see her mother in casual clothes. But there was no way Emily Gilmore would meet her grandchild for the first time in nothing but the best.

Richard was also dressed as if they were having a Friday night dinner and his smile could light up the room.

"Well?" Emily asked, dying with curiosity.

Lorelai smiled and tilted the baby towards them so they could get a better look. "Mom, Dad, meet your new granddaughter. This is Abigail Emily Gilmore-Danes."

Emily gasped and her eyes locked with her daughter's, "What?"

Lorelai kept eye contact with her mother, she knew Emily would be shocked. "I thought it would get confusing, plus there can only be one Emily Gilmore. So Luke and I decided to do with your name what we did with his father's. You don't mind, do you?"

"Mind! Lorelai, I'm honoured! Never in a million years -" the lump in Emily's throat cut off her words.

"Would you like to hold her?"

As Emily took her granddaughter in her arms, Lorelai looked at her Dad who was beaming. He looked over Emily's shoulder, gently moved the blanket to get a better look at the baby's face, "Oh Lorelai, she's beautiful. She looks exactly like you when you were born."

"Really?"

"Except for the fact that the tuft of hair is reddish, yes. It's remarkable. I feel like I've been thrown back in time. Emily, do you see it?"

Emily hadn't taken her eyes off the baby for a second, "Yes, it's a little eerie."

"Does that mean she has a big head?" Lorelai teased.

"She's perfect," Emily whispered.

The room fell silent, full of smiling, tired faces.

Two weeks later Taylor was just about to call the Town Meeting into order. He saw Rory come in and nod at him.

He banged his gavel on the podium and called out.

"Attention people, quiet down! The meeting is about to start but before it does I have a special introduction.
Ladies and gentlemen, Presenting Lorelai Gilmore with Luke Danes … and their newest addition Abigail Emily."
