Author's Note: Hey everybody, just so you know I rewrote chapter 14 because the first one wasn't true to how Haley is supposed to be in this story, and that is having a bad temper. The rewrite shows Haley in true character and I hope you like the rewrite of chapter 14. On to chapter 15!
Chapter 15: The Aftermath of Tommy's Stabbing
Reefside Community Hospital, Reefside
October 14, 2006
10 pm
Jason was talking to a few officers at the hospital that Tommy was taken to after an officer came to his house to speak to him and found him on the kitchen floor bleeding from the stomach.
Chester Addison came in then.
"Chester the boy wonder! Any news from headquarters?" Jason asked him.
"Yes, in fact I do. Haley was arrested a few moments ago, the cop who pulled her over found the blood stained knife in her car. It's in the evidence vault at headquarters."
"Okay, is she under watch?"
"By the best two deputies."
"Okay."
"Any news on your friend?"
"He's still in surgery. Shouldn't be too long now," Jason said as the surgeon came out then.
"Deputy Scott?" The surgeon said.
"Right here. How is he?" Jason asked.
"He came through with flying colors. The wound was deep and we had to repair some arterial damage, but your friend's one tough cookie. He'll be in intensive care until we ween him off the ventilator, about a week."
"Thank you doctor," Jason said.
"Well, that's good news," Chester said.
"Yeah, after I make sure that Tommy's settled in in intensive care I'm going home."
"Okay. Want someone to patrol the area around your house?"
"Yeah I do, and can you have someone patrol the area around Steinvale Intermediate House, please? That's where my friend is staying."
"Sure can. Have a good night, Deputy Scott!"
"You too, Chester!" Jason said as he headed up to the intensive care unit.
Jason and Trini's House, Angel Grove
11 pm
Jason opened the door to the house and found the bedroom lights on. Trini was sitting up in bed reading a book.
"Oh, honey, you're home! Is Tommy alright?"
"Yes, came out of surgery just fine. He's settled into the intensive care unit hooked up to the ventilator but he's fine."
"Good. What are we going to tell Kim?"
"Tell Kim what? Nobody's going to tell her anything! I don't want anything to upset her this early in her pregnancy. Too much stress could induce a miscarriage and I know Tommy wouldn't want anything to happen to that baby."
"Okay...you're right, we won't tell Kim anything right now."
"It'll be Tommy's place to tell her after he recovers."
"But what if she's suspicious?"
"Tommy's having his kitchen remodeled in a few weeks. It will take a couple of months to complete so we'll tell her that."
"Okay, I think she knows about the remodel so she'll be alright with that."
"Well, I'm going to take a shower. I'll be out in fifteen," Jason said as he went into the bathroom.
