Hey, guys! I know it's been a while since I last posted a chapter of this story but I'm getting back into the groove and this chapter and the next chapter will be hard to write with my character in the story. Also thanks to my girls JustCherry73, Tm12Brady and wwechristina for your support.
Chapter 60
RAW was in London, England and Drew and Dolph were facing Finn Balor and Braun Strowman in a tag team match.
The tour throughout Europe was a blast so far with the crew and Michelle was enjoying the thrill of it but was still growing with anxiety and uncertainty about meeting up with her father when the crew returns to the states.
Michelle was walking backstage at the arena until she found a secluded area as she called her mom and after a few seconds, her mom answered.
"Hi, honey," Joanne said.
"Hi, mom," Michelle said.
"How is the trip throughout Europe?"
"It's been fun so far. We've been through Bournemouth, Belfast, Dublin, Zaragoza and Malaga, both were amazing because of my Hispanic roots. It's been exciting, especially tonight here in London."
"Sounds like you're having a good time."
"Yeah."
"So…are you…ready to…..talk to your father?"
"No, not really. I mean, I've had anxiety over the past several days thinking about talking to him and why he did what he did. I'm trying my best to keep it together and not blow up. Drew has been very supportive of me and he understands what I'm going through. I mean, some guys would be like, 'Oh, you got daddy issues,' but not Drew."
"I know Drew is not the kind of person who would say that, that is why I approve of him."
"I know you do. Well, back to dad, um…I'm just…"
"Listen, Michelle, you say what you have to say and whatever happens, you know I'm a phone call away."
"Thanks, mom."
"Well, don't work too hard and I'll talk to you soon."
"Okay, I love you, mom."
"Love you too."
Then Michelle ended the call.
She took a deep breath as she walked backstage and went to find Drew as she noticed cameras and she saw that Drew and Dolph were cutting a promo for Monday Night RAW.
"The WWE roster has gone soft," Drew said. "Our locker room used to be filled with warriors and legends. Now, we have with a bloody banquet full of pigs stuffing their fat faces at the trough.
"And who's at the head of the table: Finn Balor and Braun Strowman. Two men successful because of shortcuts, choreographed entrances, smoke and mirrors, even worse, flipping cars like some mindless meatheads. It's pathetic."
"And these so-called superstars, they forgotten what's important: they lost that fire in their eyes, the hunger's gone, the passion isn't there, that's why we are here to remind them."
"We're not take any food off anyone's plate, no, no, no."
"We're here to flip the damn table over."
Michelle applauded with a cheesy smile as Drew and Dolph finished their promo and Drew noticed Michelle as he walked past the cameras towards her.
"Hey," Michelle said as she kissed Drew. "Flip the damn table over, that sounds like the beginning of a barfight to me."
"Ay, you know what I can be capable of," Drew said.
"Well, I know you don't go to bars often but…I like the idea."
Drew knew Michelle was still masking at the thought of seeing her father but he didn't want to bring it up.
"How are you feeling?" Drew asked.
"I'm feeling okay," Michelle said as she hesitated a little. "I just talked to my mom and yeah, I am still feeling anxious and really, really, really bitter still about seeing my dad. I mean, I know I've been talking about it a lot and I just can't help it and I don't want it to bother you as much as it's bothering me."
"Michelle, you know you can talk to me about anything and you can vent as much as you want. I'm a good listener."
"I know, I love you."
"I love you too."
"Well, I know you wanna get ready for tonight so I'll see you in a bit."
"Okay, I'll see you later."
Then Michelle walked away hoping to get through the night without breaking down.
Later, it was time for the tag team match which was Drew and Dolph versus Finn Balor and Braun Strowman.
As the men did their usual entrances, Michelle was feeling overjoyed to be part of the main roster, as well as sharing the spotlight with Drew in his home continent for the first time together.
Finn and Dolph locked up as Finn applies a waistlock and Dolph went Finn with a waistlock of his own and Finn reversed with a wristlock as Dolph landed a couple of forearms and went to whip Finn to the ropes but Finn reversed and Dolph went for a sunset flip attempt but Finn rolled through and hit basement dropkick for a one count. Finn grabbed Dolph's arm as he went for a tag to Braun but Dolph quickly escaped and made the tag to Drew and Drew pointed at Braun as he stared at him and Finn made the tag to Braun as the two circled around each other as Drew said that he's been dying for this moment as he made the tag to Dolph and smirked as Michelle laughed.
Dolph immediately went for Braun but Braun countered with a right hand and grabbed Dolph as he tossed him and hit a couple of shouldertackles and grabbed Dolph as Finn made the tag and Braun dropped Dolph onto the ground and he slammed on Dolph and Braun yelled at Finn to get up because he's fine and Finn got up as he and Braun raised their arms in the air. Finn grabbed Dolph as Dolph hit Finn with a jawbreaker and Dolph bounced off the ropes but Finn sideswiped Dolph as he landed a dropkick him and Dolph rolled out of the ring as Finn bounced off the ropes but Drew swept his feet as Michelle smiled at him and Dolph got back in the ring as he grabbed Finn by his arm and made the tag to Drew and Dolph got Finn in the corner and stomped on Finn.
Drew then landed a chop to the chest and grabbed Finn as he landed a right hand and stared at Braun as he stomped on Finn and grabbed Finn by his arm as he was taunting Braun and stomped on his hand as he stared at Braun again and Finn stumbled to the corner as Drew landed a chop to the chest and grabbed Finn as he made the tag to Dolph. Drew held onto Finn as Dolph kicked him in the midsection and was taunting Braun and Finn tried to fight off Dolph as he tried to tag in Braun but Dolph countered with a neckbreaker for a two count and Dolph applied a scissors hold and Finn got to his feet as he tried to make the tag to Braun again but Dolph took him down and stomped on Finn before making the tag to Drew.
Drew grabbed Finn as he tossed him to the corner as Finn landed an elbow to Dolph and a right hand to Drew and was fighting back as again he tried to make the tag to Braun but Drew stopped him as he landed a knee to the midsection and clubbed Finn in the back and stared at Braun as he grabbed Finn and tossed him to the corner and landed a chop to the chest. Then Drew whipped Finn to the opposite corner and went to charge at Finn but Finn sidestepped Drew and made the tag to Braun as Drew made the tag to Dolph and Braun ran over Dolph with a shouldertackle and knocked Drew off the ring apron and Braun landed another shouldertackle to Dolph as he grabbed Dolph and landed a headlock club to the chest.
Dolph rolled to the corner as Braun went to charge at Dolph but Dolph moved out of the way as Braun hit shoulder first onto the ring post and Finn made the tags and he took down Dolph and landed a stomp to the midsection and Dolph rolled to the corner as Finn landed a chop to the chest and Finn went to whip Dolph to the corner but Dolph reversed and Finn leaped over him. Finn ran into a back elbow as Dolph climbed the top turnbuckle but Finn landed an enziguri sending Dolph to the mat and Finn takes him down with an elbow for the cover but Drew broke it up and got out of the ring as Finn knocked Drew off the ring apron and Dolph rolled up Finn for a two count.
Finn hits the Slingblade sending Dolph to the corner and hits a stiff dropkick as Finn climbed the top turnbuckle but Drew grabs his boot and Braun then wipes out Drew as Dolph knocks Balor off the top rope to win the match.
Michelle ran over to Drew as she helped him up and the two walked over to Dolph and Michelle teased Braun saying Drew wasn't sorry for knocking over the Greatest Royal Rumble trophy/
After RAW was over, the RAW roster boarded the bus as they were heading to Birmingham. Throughout the whole ride, Michelle was quiet as she thought about the conversation with her mom.
She had also been thinking about all the fights her parents have had especially one particular fight.
Flashback
11-year-old Michelle was sitting on top of the steps as her parents were fighting in the living room.
"How many times are you going to keep doing this?" Joanne argued. "You've missed not only your daughter's basketball game, but you also miss her dance recital! How in the world could you even think about work when your family is much more important than that?"
"I'm trying to work to support us!" Ron exclaimed. "You're doing exactly the same! Okay, I sacrifice my work to make sure we have everything here. Our family is doing well. I'm sorry if me working so much is making you upset. You could just record everything so I can see."
"But you are not interested! You always go into your work and you don't even know is what your daughter and sons are doing!"
"When I get a chance, okay?!"
"Okay, I don't know how this is going to survive if you're just going to take off on business trips doing whatever!"
"You know what? If this is how you feel, then maybe I should just leave, this isn't working out."
"So you're just going throw away everything like that?"
"Hey, it's the way it has to be; if me working so much to support our family bothers you so much, then you won't have to worry about no more!"
"Michelle," Drew said snapping Michelle out of her thoughts. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah," Michelle said as she sighed and looked down.
"Still thinking about meeting up with your father?"
"Yeah, I'm supposed to be happy and thrilled that we're traveling Europe but meeting up with my dad still weighs heavily on my mind."
"I know it will be hard but it will feel so much better once you finally tell him how you have been feeling all this time."
"If it does; I keep thinking how this will turn out once we come face to face. I mean, I remember all the arguments my parents had and the times I've been hearing. Those weigh heavily on my head. I'm still pissed of all the times he missed out on my basketball games, my brothers' football games, my dance recitals, everything."
"Kind of like me missing out on family events while I'm living on my dream."
"But Drew, your family means a lot to you and you get to see them when you get the chance but my dad doesn't seem to get it; he hardly sees me and my brothers until now."
Michelle was on the verge of tears as Drew wrapped his arm around her; this potential meeting with Michelle's father had her on edge the past several days but managed to maintain her composure for the sake of Drew and being on the main roster and didn't want to lose focus.
Drew being there for Michelle and supporting her was the reason for her maintaining her composure and did whatever he could to make her feel better and help Michelle prepare for what could make or break her.
"I know me talking about this over and over is not healthy for me and I know you would want me to keep calm about this and I'm so sorry for that," Michelle said.
"No, you know you can talk to me about anything that is bothering you and I'm always here to listen," Drew assured her. "Like I said, I can come with you when you get to see your father."
"No, I don't want to drag you into this. This is something I have to do on my own. I love you and thank you for being here for me."
Then Drew kissed Michelle on her forehead as she laid her head on Drew's shoulder as they went to enjoy the rest of the European tour before heading back to the states.
