Seifer woke up feeling refreshed, the sun's rays gently streaming through the window of his dorm room. He stretched lazily and smiled, remembering the pleasant moments he had shared with Zell the night before. However, as he glanced around the room, he noticed that Zell was not beside him. Confused, Seifer sat up and looked around, trying to shake off the lingering drowsiness.
His eyes fell on the necklace that should have been around Zell's neck, but it was back on his own. "Huh? Why is the necklace back on me?" Seifer muttered to himself, feeling a pang of disappointment.
"Did Zell change his mind? Did he take it off while I was sleeping?"
With growing concern, Seifer got out of bed and began searching the dorm room for any sign of Zell. He couldn't find any trace of his boyfriend, and the emptiness in his chest deepened.
"Did he leave me? What did I do wrong?"
In a mix of anger and sadness, Seifer decided to roam the Garden, trying to wrap his head around the situation. As he walked, he noticed that people seemed to be giving him worried glances, wanting to stay out of his way.
Eventually, Seifer found himself at the training center, seeking solace in battling fiends to release his frustration. On his way there, he saw some SEED talking to Zell. The familiar wave of jealousy hit him, and as he got closer, he noticed the guy was hitting on Zell, who looked visibly uncomfortable.
Seifer's anger boiled as he approached the guy flirting with Zell. His eyes narrowed, and his voice carried a sharp edge.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Seifer's tone was cold and threatening, not hiding his annoyance.
The guy looked taken aback by Seifer's sudden hostility, but he tried to act unfazed. "Just having a little fun, man. Didn't know he was taken."
Seifer's response was laced with irritation. "Well, now you do. Now fuck off before you regret ever looking at him."
The guy seemed to sense the danger in Seifer's demeanor and decided to make a hasty exit.
Seifer turned to Zell, his frustration evident in his expression. "You disappeared without a word, and I find this damn necklace back on me. What the hell is going on, Zell?"
Zell looked perplexed, not understanding Seifer's anger. "Seifer, I don't know what you're talking about. I've been here the whole time."
Seifer's patience was wearing thin. "Don't lie to me, Zell. I woke up, and you were gone. It's like you wanted to leave me."
Zell's eyes widened, hurt evident in his voice. "Seifer, I would never do that to you. I don't know why you're saying these things."
Seifer's anger softened slightly, but he couldn't let go of his frustration. "This doesn't make any sense. I thought we were starting something special, but now I don't know what to believe."
Zell tried to reach out to Seifer, but Seifer pulled away as if Zell's touch would burn him.
"I need some space," Seifer said, his voice tense. "I can't deal with this right now."
Zell looked hurt and confused. "I don't understand..." He whispered.
Seifer walked away, leaving Zell standing there, feeling lost and hurt by the sudden turn of events.
As Seifer walked through Garden, his mind was filled with conflicting emotions. He was mad at Zell, mad at the guy who flirted with him, and mad at the whole situation. But deep down, he knew he was mostly mad at himself for not understanding what was happening.
He found himself back in training center, seeking an outlet for his frustration. As he fought against the fiends, his anger fueled his strength, but it couldn't erase the hurt he felt inside.
"Guess this is making up for my transgressions. Give me someone I want the most only to have it taken away," he thought miserably to himself.
He continued to slice through fiends, with some fiends fleeing the massacre. As he cut more of them down without mercy, he couldn't stop thinking about Zell last night. The way his hair smelled, the way Zell even with his loud personality snored softly or the obvious wet dream he was having about Seifer that night. Well, that one did have Seifer going to the bathroom because that was the hottest thing Seifer had ever heard. He could tell by Zell's voice he was getting railed mercilessly by Seifer.
He growled in frustration, slaying another fiend. He didn't want to come off as the crazy ex Zell couldn't escape, but none of it made sense.
Continuing from where we left off:
He didn't want to come off as the crazy ex Zell couldn't escape, but none of it made sense. He was sure they were on the same page about their relationship, but after this morning, it just felt unexplainable.
"Screw this!" He was done feeling sorry for himself and moping around. He wanted answers now!
He walked out of the training center, determined to find Zell, not noticing Rinoa walking his way.
"Seifer! Do you mind helping me with a spell I'm developing to prevent injury in the field for SEEDs?" She said with excitement and a sense of pride, but Seifer stood still in his tracks. Mouth dropping in shock and disbelief.
She continued, not picking up on his shock. "I asked Squall, but you know how he is." She laughed. "It's a-"
"A reverse spell," Seifer cut her off, putting everything together.
"Exactly! Wait, how did you know that? Did Squall tell you?" She asked suspiciously.
Seifer looked around. "So what the hell is exactly going on here, then?" He thought to himself. He began to get lost in ideas and reasons.
"Seifer?" She snapped her fingers. "Earth to Seifer."
"Tell me. Could this spell possibly reverse time back further than anticipated? Maybe a day?" He asked with curiosity. He thought he might know what could be going on.
"Hmm," she thought for a moment. "I don't think so, but it's possible. Take the spell Stop, for example. Stop works by freezing the target's time within a small space, making it appear as if they are stopped to the outside world. But in reality, their consciousness is still active, experiencing those moments over and over again within that confined space."
Seifer was almost certain of what was going on now. The question was how to break it and how the hell was he to break it if the person that knows the most about it wouldn't remember once this started over again.
Seifer's eyes narrowed as he tried to comprehend her explanation. "Wait, so I could be stuck in some kind of bubble. Reliving the same events while everyone else has no clue?"
"In simple terms, yes," she smiled. Then she looked at him in suspicion again. "This is some extensive questioning." Then she had an idea that made her gasp. "Seifer, you're not..."
"Yeah, I guess I'm caught in a loop right now. If the Stop scenario applies here, then it should fade after a while... right?"
She fidgeted a bit. "If it was simple draw magic like that, yes, but... This is not the same. This is some of Ultimecia's power. The same cures and remedies don't apply."
Seifer flinched at the name. So even now, he couldn't escape her cold grasp.
"Seifer, I'll look into t-" but he cut her off.
"Don't worry about it right now. Once the loop restarts again, you won't even know we had this conversation. I'll talk to you tomorrow. Or the you that will be in the next loop. This is a lot to take in."
He stuck his hands in his trench coat and walked away. He was going to find Zell. How is it even in a loop, he fumbled his chance with Zell? Although he thought they were together, Zell had no idea. But if he found Zell, what would it matter? It wouldn't matter "tomorrow" or whenever the loop began. He sighed in defeat, not sure what.
As Seifer continued his search for Zell through Balamb Garden, he couldn't shake off the weight of everything he had learned so far. The realization that he was trapped in a time loop, reliving the same events repeatedly, filled him with frustration and confusion. He pondered over Rinoa's explanation, trying to understand how he could break free from this enchantment and find a way to be with Zell in the present.
His thoughts were a whirlwind of emotions as he replayed the interactions he had with Zell and the misunderstandings that had led to their current predicament. Seifer knew he needed to find Zell and talk things through, but he was uncertain about how to approach the conversation. He feared that he might mess up again, making things even more complicated between them.
Finally, Seifer spotted Zell sitting on a bench, looking lost in thought. Zell seemed preoccupied, and Seifer could sense the lingering sadness from their earlier encounter. Taking a deep breath, Seifer approached Zell, feeling the knot of tension in his stomach.
As he got closer, Seifer saw Zell take a deep breath and look up as if about to say something. Before Zell could speak, Seifer walked up to him and laid his head on Zell's shoulder, letting out a sigh of defeat. His heart was heavy with the weight of his mistakes and the uncertainty of their situation.
Zell was taken aback by Seifer's unexpected closeness but focused more on the concern evident in Seifer's actions. "Seifer, what's wrong?" Zell asked softly, his voice filled with genuine worry.
"How do I keep messing us up?" Seifer's words were a mix of frustration and self-doubt. He lifted his head from Zell's shoulder to look into his eyes, his expression vulnerable and searching for understanding.
"Seifer, I don't really get what you mean," Zell admitted, his brow furrowing in confusion. "But I can tell you're upset, and I want to be here for you. We'll figure it out together, okay?"
Seifer's heart softened at Zell's sincere response. He realized that burdening Zell with the complexities of the time loop might not be fair, especially when they were still trying to understand their own feelings for each other.
"I'm sorry, Zell," Seifer said, offering a small smile. "It's a weird and complicated situation. But you being here and supporting me means the world to me."
Zell grinned. "Of course I'm here for you, Seifer. No matter how strange things get."
Seifer laughed, knowing he has been pretty straightforward with Zell today. "I have been strange today, I guess."
Zell chuckled, his cheeks burning. "I honestly thought Selphie may have said something to you." Seifer laughed, knowing exactly what Zell was talking about from the previous loop.
As Seifer left, returning to his dorm to get some rest, he decided that no matter how many loops occurred after today, Zell was his in each one. He would punch that SEED flirting with Zell every time as well if he caught him. Unfortunately, he had to focus on finding Rinoa for now as early as possible to get these loops undone. "Or..." He looked down at Zell sleeping in his arms.
"I could use a few loops to spend time with Zell too, I guess. Not like I'm running out of time for it anytime soon, it seems."
He had asked Zell to sleep with him again, which got the same reaction out of his boyfriend as before. As he began to drift off to sleep, Zell started moaning, rutting against Seifer, moaning for more.
"So you you always have these dreams?"
Seifer groaned as he got up to go to the bathroom.
